Sample Project Files

Is there a place which I can find sample project files?
I've been trying to study on blank project file and I need to some sample files to apply extensive techniques.

I am going to assume your question relates to Microsoft Project, since you posted in this forum.
Why don't you use the templates that are built in with project? Clikc File >> New and select from one of the templates.

2.1.3 does not support sample project files

I just purchased Aperture 2.1.1, installed, and then updated the software to 2.1.3. I then imported the sample projects to play with before I start to mess with any of my photos.
I will get an unsupported image format Red message when triing to view any of the sample file with CR2 format. Am I doing something wrong, I would think that the sample images would at least be supported? Looks like they were taken with Canon EOS-1D Mark II N

Error in compiling Photoshop CC 2014 sample project

Hi,
I am trying to compile SDK sample project "outbound". but it is showing errors, as "Parse Issue: Unknown type name 'DialogPtr' " in DialogUtilities.h .
DialogUtilities.h file is in "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014:photoshopsdk:pluginsdk:samplecode:common:includes".
even if I add this path in project settings it still shows the errors.
how can I make this work?
I am using Photoshop CC 2014 and Xcode version is 4.6.3 (4H1503)
If you have any idea regarding project settings then please let me know.

Hi,

Error reading project file : no protocol

I have followed the instructions exactly as in the j2ee tutiorial ,but, when I run asant , an error occurs:

Could you please provide a bit more detail such as which sample you are using? Also are you using the latest version of the tutorial and have you configured your build.properties in the samples/common directory?

RoboHelp 9 either won't launch or does not show project files when it does launch

I had a freeze in RH9 and after force closing and relaunching, I got a message that the .cpd file was corrupt and needed to be deleted. I deleted the entire project folder in my local drive and then retrieved the files from Visual Source Safe. When I tried to launch the .xpj file from Windows Explorer, RH launches to the splash page, but never moves beyond that. When I try to open from the Start menu short cut, RH launches but none of the project folders or files are there.
Emptied the local folder and retrieved files multiple times, but no change. Logged out completely and restarted the machine and no change.
Help!

Can you open one of the sample projects? If so, then something's gotten messed up in your VSS project; if not, then your RH install may be damaged.

Why are my photos not as sharp when I import them into Facebook from the Aperture Projects file, compared to when I 'share' them with Facebook within the Aperture programme? There is a noticeable difference and has been spoiling my photos for some time.

Hi all, I take wildlife photos (mostly birds) as a hobby, and have become frustrated with the quality of my photos recently when shared online, particularly Facebook.
I started blaming my camera ( a Canon 7D) as I changed it a few months ago from a Canon 550D, and I soon noticed that the images were not as good. Then I realised it was when I started using Aperture.
I started by using the 'share' option within Aperture but I soon realised that then I have no control over the creation of an album, and the photos start appearing on facebook before I have finished uploading them and given them captions. Plus if I subsequently move them or export them to my back up drive then they disappear from Facebook!
So I started creating albums within Facebook and then importing the photos from the aperture projects file on my computer. Because they are imported I can then delete or move the aperture file and the photos stay on facebook. Otherwise my macbook was becoming completely full.
However to test my theory I have today uploaded the same photo edited in Aperture stored in the same projects folder using the two different methods described above, and there is a very distinct difference between the quality of the two images. The shared ones are very much sharper than the imported ones.
I am a computer novice and don't know how to check what the quality settings are, or how to adjust anything to improve the way the photos go into facebook. I do have a manual but I just cant understand it :-(
I have tried a free sample of Lightroom 5 and my photos look amazing, there is such a difference, but I don't want to give up with Aperture unless the problem really can't be solved.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

Using Apple's sample project at your own gain, legal or not legal?

I found a sweet sample project in my Xcode developer folder called "Sketch". I would like to use it's code and redesign, redevelop, and totally flip it around to were I just used it as a template towards my own project. Is that legal to do? Considering Apple produced it as a sample project, not as a sample code to build on. Or would this be something to contact Apple about?

I've done that. None of them say anything about redistribution to an extent of mine. Most of them say stuff like this "I found this in other headers, but this one came from infoPlst.strings"

Sample .PDF files from Adobe versions 9, 10, 11, etc.

I'm a software developer/tester and I'm currently testing a new software we are using to manipulate/upload PDF files to our website. The software opens the PDF, counts the number of pages, displays the page numbers in a listbox, then lets users select which pages from the original document they would like to upload as a new document.
That is working just fine.
Where I could use some help is getting sample .PDF files created in Adobe 9, 10, 11, etc (1.7 ext 1, 3, 5 ,etc). I want to test each version because we've had issues with a previous 3rd party software where it would not handle later versions (anything past 8, I believe). I have Adobe 8.1 on my development machine right now and unfortunately I need to keep it the same version to handle PDF creation for other projects which can't handle the later versions.
I've googled and googled and there doesn't seem to be a site that just has sample PDF files formatted in the various versions. Can anyone point me in the right direction or host a few small PDF files? If possible it would be better if they were at least 2 pages so I can test the extract pages feature.

You refer to the extension levels, but they're nothing to do with the version of Acrobat - they relate to what's in the file. If you have 3D or Rich Media, you get an EL3 file - doesn't matter if you author it in A9 or AXI. Genuine EL5 PDF files are very rare, as the spec only introduced a couple of little-used options such as ColorDodge transparency blending. Most of them are actually XFA files from LiveCycle, as that's the version tag used to wrap XFA3 code.

How to convert sample project using EF4, ObjectContext -- to EF5 DBcontext?

I have been working with (wrestling with) trying to create a copy a small sample project -- that is actually 3 project -- a class library containing an ADO.Net Entity Data Model (EF4) which uses ObjectContext, a WCF service application project (that
connects to the Entity Data Model), and a WPF client which consumes the (data?). This sample was created in VS2010. I am trying to create a copy of this sample project in VS2012 (with EF5 and DBContext). The VS2010 sample works fine. A .zip
of the sample project (the sample I'm working on -- which I have removed a few additional projects that were included in the original sample project) can be downloaded

The .zip also contains the sample database (called SkiResultDB, mdf & ldf -- which I recreated the sample database from the original because the name was too long and had too many periods in the original -- but hey, everything still works in
this sample).
The sample project also uses

"myDataBindingModel" is used 25 times through the designer.cs and the .edmx xml file (I renamed that bindingModel to myDataBindingModel -- to see if it would still work, and it did).

When I try to create an ADO.Net Entity Data Model from the template list -- I just get bare bones -- ... : DBContext and none of the stuff that the original .edmx ... Designer.cs had. But in the EF5 entity data model I do get
...edmx...context.tt which contains ...context.cs, but does not contain any of the methods in the original .edmx.
My request is if someone could explain -- just the class library part of this sample project for now -- how I could create an ADO.Net Entity Data Model like the original but in VS2012 (EF5) which does everything that the original ADO.Net Entity
Data model does, the attribute decorators (did the author do that -- or was that generated by VS2010 or some other tool?). Note: I got this sample project from

which includes 8 (short) videos, very concise tutorial (the original sample project also included a Silverlight client and a unit test -- which I removed for simplicity from my sample). In the first video, the author specifically states
that THIS tutorial is not about entity framework and thus did not explain much. The first video just shows him selecting an ADO.Net Entity Data Model from the template collection and just clicking on the wizard. I suspect that Entity
framework was the "Fundamental" part of this sample project.
Any Suggestions appreciated.

With the release of the Entity Framework 5, the team uses the DbContext API installed of ObjectContext and the DbContext is recommended. In your case, since the project already uses the ObjectContext, I think it might be not easy to change
it to work with the DbContext, you could follow steps as below to make the project still work with the ObjectContext AP:
1. It still needs you to create the ADO.Net Entity Data Model in VS2012
2. After you created the model, delete the XXX.Context.tt and XXX.tt files, they are used to work with the DbContext.
3. In the designer windows, right click and select the properties, change Code Generation Strategy to Default/Legacy Object Context and save the designer windows.
It would generate the entities are similar with the one you show in the image.

How to restore a song from the "Project File Backups"

Help! I recorded onto an external harddrive, then copied all the project folders to a different drive. Now, I can't find the project files, but I can find the "Project File Backups" in the Project Folders. I suspect the original project files were saved separately from these folders on the original hard drive, but that is long gone, so I am hoping some one can tell me how to recreate the project from the files in the "Project File Backups" folder.
ANOTHER CLUE: Stranger still, I can't find any of my logic song files using FILE>OPEN, SPOTLIGHT, nor FINDER- Only those that still populate the "open recent" list.
Any ideas? Thanks friends!

Hi there
Your Project File Backups are simply the previous Project files you've saved. These files are essentially the strip settings, layouts, midi, and pointers to the audio files of your Project.
If you have trashed the audio files then your are outta luck. This is why you should Consolidate (File-->Project-->Consolidate) all of your projects into one Project Folder on your HD. That way all of your Audio files as well as your sample files and UltraBeat files remain consolidated within a Project Folder. You can then Copy that entire Project folder to another location and have all of the respective files for that Project.

How to Deploying Application Which consists .jpr project file in JDeveloper

I Successfully compiled my application in JDeveloper 11g, My Project consists of .jpr file which loads all the source files. I added this .jpr file to New Application by creating a .jws in JDeveloper.
When I run my application, I am getting the Deployment Error, How to deploy a project which consists of .jpr as project file in JDeveloper 11g.
The Same was running in Oracle JDeveloper 10.3.3 version perfectly there the Server was OC4J but Here the Server is WebLogic.
can anyone help me out in solving this,

If the exampleClass1 does have a public method which is called from the main method, when you run it from the command line
should work like this

X-CAN sample project problem

Hey guys,
I´m getting started with the myRIO-1900 and try to connect it with my car via X-CAN module with OBD-II BD9 cable to collect and record data from my car.
I've installed Labview 2014, X-CAN, realtime module in my computer without any problem.
When I connected myRIO 1900 and X-CAN module with my Mercedes, launched "X-CAN for myRIO" under "sample project", it worked successfully and I can read data from Labview.
Question 1: What do all the data read mean in the labview, eg. what does identifier means and what does payload means? At first I thought they might be PID codes, but after browsing all the info online, I felt the data are not PID codes because they should start with P01 or P02. Is there a manual for me to review and learn?
Question 2: Do you guys know how can I record all the data that read from my vehicle and export them to Excel file? I tried to add "File I/O" and "Measure to write" followed by the instructio online, but there was not excel file generated after the run. Any suggestions?

There is TONS of documentation on CAN buses. From various hardware and software implementations and a bunch of other variations that can make working with it difficult.
On the surface everything is easy, you just read and write frames, as described here

Frames are just raw data that you can then do things with. A frame consistes of an ID which identifies the message and also does things like sets priority of the message. Then the payload is 0-8 bytes (excluding CAN-FD). These 0-8 bytes are the usable parts of the message. Protocols have been written to support multi frames, and request reply, among several other features not supported in the hardware.
Basically you have a lot of reading to do. Find all the documentation you can on CAN and how it works knowing that it starts at the frame level which is what you get. You might even get something out of the first few slides of a recent presentation I did on CAN and XNET.

As for recording the data. The most common way is to format it into a 2D array of string, and then use the write measurements to file, or write spreadsheet to create a CSV file that Excel can open. There are other options that are usually more messy, but can be done.
