  • JCO Error with CMC on SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 Server

    Hi, all
We just installed our BO Enterprise XI 3.1 system, when we attempt to import SAP roles in the Central Management Console (CMC), the result is the following error: "An error occurred: com/sap/mw/jco/JCO$Function".
I have checked note 1274700 and 1292144, but in these two notes it use tomcat as the Java web application server to hold BO web applications like CMC. In our case, we use the SAP WebAS Java 7.0 Server.
    Below is our system info:
Server 1: Windows 2003 SP2 32bit, Install BO Enterprise XI3.1, Crystal Reports 2008 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. We did't choose install tomcat option.
Server 2: Windows 2003 SP2 x64, SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 to run BO Web Applications.
Below is our whole installation process:
On Server1, Install BO Enterprise XI3.1, Crystal Reports 2008 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. We choose "I will delpoy the web components after installation" option when install the BO Enterprise XI3.1 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. We didn't choose the install tomcat option.
After the BOE XI3.1 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP installation, we user wdeploy tool to generate the ear files, copy the 19 web components ear files to Server2, manually deploy all the total 19 web components packages on our SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 System on Server 2.
All the instalation processes above finished successfully. The web componnets are also successfully deployed on SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 system.
When we start to configure the Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP, We logon to CMC, choose Authentication, double click SAP, fill info on tab "Entitled System" when we click tab "Role Import", we get the error info "com/sap/mw/jco/JCO$Function".
Then we download the SAPJCO 2.18 package 32bit for Server1, x64 version for Server2, and did following task on both Server1 and Server2:
    1. Put the librfc.dll and jcorfc.dll file to C:\Windows:\System32
    2. Add CLASSPATH, point to sapjco.jar file.
    But still don't work.
Does anyone use the SAP NetWeaver WebAS as the web application server for BO?
Also I want to know does SAP officially support tomcat for production use now? I mean if some web error occurs about tomcat, will SAP support it?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi Ingo,
Yes - Ive tried every possible combination and here is my findings...
I don't think the 32-bit version of the SAP Java Connector (2.1.8) works on a Windows 2003 x64 SAP J2EE 7.0, i.e. the sapjco.jar file. I created a directory and added it to the CLASSPATH of the J2EE server (server and instance) and I also added it to the Java classpath using: java -jar <path+sapjco.jar> -classpath. Executing this command brings up a SAP Java connector window where it displays information of the version, location of the sapjcorfc.dll file etc. This windows opens, but is not able to display the information. If I do exactly the same with the x64 bit version of the SAP Java connector (2.1.8) it displays the information correctly in the SAP Java connector popup. I've tried copying the sapjcorfc.dll and the librfc32.dll to both the /system32 and the SYSWOW64 directory on the server.
HOWEVER, in CMC the Role Import tab still does not work - I just get the text null (in red). Before adding the sapjco.jar to the java classpath I got another error on the Role import tab - something like /com/sap/mw/jco/$JCOFunction. So it seems like it is now able to find the sapjco.jar file, but can not use it properly.
The big question is now: Should the sapjco.jar file actually be on the Application server or on the BOE Server? I know it says on the application server in all documentation, but that generally assumes Tomcat and all installed on one server.
BOE uses the sapjco.jar file to connect to the BW system to import the roles and that must be the BOE server doing that job and not the Application server???
Just my thoughts - maybe we can discuss this at Teched in Phoenix? :o)
    Best regards,
    Jacob

  • Installing BI 4.1 with Netweaver Web Application Servers : Windows/HP-UX

    Hello,
We are about to install SAP BI 4.1 SP3, with Netweaver as Web Application Servers.
And yes, according to the Product Availability Matrix HP-UX is definitely not a supported platform .
The problem is that our company like many others have invested huge amount of money in their HP-UX infrastructure,
and intend to reuse it, as long as it is supported by SAP.
OK it is very confusing, let me clarify
After discussing with other SAP customers facing the same dilemma :
    We intend to :
    * Install the Oracle Database (hosting CMS and Audit schema) on HP-UX ( The PAM only says that the Database Connector is not Supported on HP-UX)
    * Install BI.4 Server Components Application/Intelligence layer on Windows as clearly indicated in the PAM
    * Install Netweaver Application Servers on ...HP-UX if supported by SAP ?  I have some problems reading the PAM regarding this last point
The PAM seems to indiccate that HP-UX is not supported as a platform for NEtweaver,
but then on the next page it says :
(*3) SAP NetWeaver is supported with SAP JVM on all supported operating systems
    What does that mean ???
SAP Netweaver/SAP JVM is supported on HP-UX
Does that mean that we could install NEtweaver JAva Stacks on HP-UX ?
    Thanks and Regards

    Hello,
We just received SAP Support  answer, Deploying BI4 Applications on Netweaver/HP-UX
    is ... SUPPORTED !
"Thank you very much for your time on call today.
--As discussed you already have installed SAP NetWeaver Java
Application Server on HP-UX Operating System.
--Now want to deploy BOE Web Applications (Ex- CMC, BI Launchpad) on
    top of this.
--Yes, it is supported to deploy BI Web Applications on SAP NetWeaver

  • I get 'SAP BEx web Application designer has stopped workin' when click WAD

    Hi,
When I click on WAD(Web Application Designer option from Business Explorer menu),
I get "SAP BEx web Application designer has stopped working".
    I am running VISTA.
Any hints on how to deal with this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I uninstalled and installed again the GUI and Bex Explorer
I installed again SetUpAll.exe and selected:
--SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 (Compilations3)
    --BW 3.50 Add-On for SAP GUI 7.10
    --Business Explorer
On completion, I had two options for WAD:
--Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x)
    --Web Application Designer
When I point my mouse on "Web Application Designer " for selection, there is a message that
"Business Explorer Web Application Designer  - Can only be used in SAP NetWeaver 7.1"
and when I go ahead to click on it, I get the error message I reported in my initial post
If I select Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x), it takes me in alright but the view is a bit different, in that in the New template of the Web Application, on the right pane, I do not see the icon for DataProvider which used to be there when I used to work in "Web Application Designer" instead of  "Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x)"
    Any hints?
    Thanks

  • Trial version of 'SAP NetWeaver java Application Server 7.0'?

    Hello,
Does anyone knows where I can download a trial version of 'SAP NetWeaver java Application Server 7.0'?
Because I want to learn EP Portal 7.0.
    (I know CE7.1 includes SAP java server 7.1. However because 7.1 changes a lot from 7.0. I don't want 7.1).
    Thanks.

    Hi,
If oyu are comfortable with Linux, you may download a combined Java+ABAP Stack version of 7.0 (2004s) here:
[SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) - Trial Version on Linux |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/60d6c8b7-5d8f-2910-31bf-ebdf74fefd8b]
There is no download for Windows as far I can see in the "Downloads" section of SDN.
    For other Downloads:

  • Question regarding SAP NetWeaver JEE

It seems it is not possible to deploy an EJB JAR file module as is. I use NetBeans with GlassFish to develop EJB modules that expose Web Services endpoints. The backend is Oracle Database. I develop on my local workstation and after testing launch the browser and login to the admin console of GlassFish on production server. I then simply deploy the jar file which is the EJB module. It all works. I'm wondering if I can get this to work on SAP JEE with none to little tweaking. But it seems it is not straight-forward without using the IDE. If you know of a way I can do this can you please point me to it. Thanks!

    Hi Neeraj,
    Welcome to SDN!
OK, straight to your question: You can deploy externally developed applications as well as applications developed in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio. Take a look at <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/882f621d-0e01-0010-99b7-c5bc4f1a4b6b">this</a> paper (especially from page 9 on).
Regarding "with none to little tweaking" - in general, you only have to pack the EJB JAR into a standard EAR file (deployment of standalone EJB apps is not supported in this version). If you don't rely on any non-standard features of GlassFish or Oracle, this should be sufficient.
One final note - there is no need to cross-post the same question in parallel forums. Please take a minute to go through the <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/HOME/RulesofEngagement">Rules of Engagement</a> accessible from every SDN forum.
    Hope it helps!

  • Capturing data back to SAP from web application

I have to call a java application from SAPGUI.For that I can use the methods in the class CL_GUI_HTML_VIEWER.
In that Java application the user will be ordering the products and quantity.I have to capture this data back to SAP and update the order in SAP. How to capture the data from the called java application back to SAP ?

    Hi Gincy,
if you just need to call the web applications and then parse the result (i.e. you do not need to display the output) you can user the CL_HTTP_CLIENT class.
There is a sample program in the SAP Help at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1f/93163f9959a808e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

  • Questions on Deployment of Web Application in J2EE

SAP's Portal Component API includes custom framework called DynPage. There is another framework called iViews. Both have been in existence since 2002. Which is the latest and greatest way to move a J2EE Web application based on Java Servlets, JSP, and mySQL to SAP EP. The application uses a well-designed service API which would return Java objects. Being a Web application, we have controllers which delegate HTTP requests to the service layer methods; these methods  in turn call the database through DAO classes, execute business logic and return Plain Old Java Objects. We do not use any EJBs at all, be it session or entity EJBs. What changes should be made to this kind of an application to make it deployable in SAP EP?

    Hi selvaKumar
The portal Developement Kit i.e PDk is the technology to develope the portal content  in an application which is again deployed in the EP Server .See the iView concept in the portal is just to display the content in the portal. The content may be any thing.Whatever may be the technology you used the User Interface can be shown to the portal users via IViews. As you know PDk and IViews are the Part of NetWeaver EP .IView is basically a unit for content (info )in the portal .If you want to use JSP custom and standard tags in PDk then you will go for JSpDynpage kind of portal components.EP is basically to build UserInterfaces and used in enterprises to work efficiently on the basis of Roles performed by employees of a company. The basement of PDk or webdynpro is Java/J2ee only.Migration is not at all an issue because if you know java ,EP Developement and Implementation you can easily learn with little effort. What ever may be the application or technology you can integrate it into EP.

  • Enterprise service in SAP Netweaver mobile application

I want to use an enterprise service in a mobile web dynpro application using SAp Netweaver Mobile 7.1.Is it possible

    Hi Pablo,
We are actually working with CE. Here we checked the following configurations:
    1. Network connectivity from your IDE (Window>preferences>general-->network connections).
    2. Http proxy settings of the server (http://<host>:<port>/nwa/middleware-settings)
I think the problem is with your server's http proxy settings.
    Hope it helps.

  • Basic knowledge about Sap Netweaver, Web As, Web Dynpro

    Hi guys,
I am a new nut guy trying to understand Sap NetWeaver. Could you guys explain to me just briefly in the most simplest ordinary terms about points below. I tried to read documentations but do not understand completely.
    1) What is Sap NetWeaver? Does it comes with several components?
    2) What is Web AS?? what does it serve?
    3) I heard about Web Dynpro for Java and Web Dynpro for Abap. They are used to develop Web applications in Java language and the other in Abap language. I'm interested just on knowing the Java side.
I just want to understand the hardware systtem achitecture and associated software to be installed.
Now for Java, I heard that we need to install Web Developper Studio, rite?? then which version should I install, Sap Netweaver SP16 or Sap Neweaver 2004 or Sap Netweaver 2004s?? where can i find it?? should it be installed in front end station? do i need Java?
Now for Web AS, where do i install it??
I'm totally new in Sap NetWeaver
    Thanks a lot guys

Hi Ralph, I will try to keep it simple.
    <i>
    1) What is Sap NetWeaver? Does it comes with several components?
    </i>
SAP Netweaver is the platform in which all SAP software runs on top of.  For example R/3 ran on the "Basis" layer,  this is simular in ECC6.0, where ECC is the R/3 part and Netweaver(ABAP stack) is the "Basis" Layer.  With Netweaver you get two stacks, ABAP and Java.  SAP components run on one or the other.  Netweaver includes, but is not limited to:
    Netweaver Application Server(formerly called WebAS)
    Netweaver Portal(formerly called EP)
Netweaver XI(I think there is a new name for this)
    etc.
    <i>
    2) What is Web AS?? what does it serve?
    </i>
WebAS is now called Netweaver Application Server, this is the basis for all applications, whether ABAP or java based.  For example the ECC(R/3 component) runs on the ABAP stack of Netweaver Application Server,  the Netweaver Portal runs on the Java stack of NW Application Server.
    <i>
    3) I heard about Web Dynpro for Java and Web Dynpro for Abap. They are used to develop Web applications in Java language and the other in Abap language. I'm interested just on knowing the Java side.
    </i>
For the java side, you develop the webdynpro applications locally on your laptop using NWDS(Netweaver Developer Studio) and then deploy this application to the Netweaver Application Server(java stack).  You can then implement the application into an iView in the NW Portal.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/15/0d4f21c17c8044af4868130e9fea07/frameset.htm
    <i>
I just want to understand the hardware systtem achitecture and associated software to be installed.
    </i>
Which NWDS to install depends on the version of the java engine in which you are working with.  The rule is that you keep the version of NWDS in sync with the version of the Netweaver Application Server(java engine).   Usually the NW AS, is intalled on a standalone server(not your laptop), but you can install sneak preview editions on your laptop for testing .
I hope this helps a little.

  • Sample Questions of SAP MI Certification Exam

    Hi Friends,
I am appearing for the SAP Certification Exam in MI.
I am not sure what kind of questions SAP is going to ask in the exam, because inspite of searching at so many places (SAP sites), I have not got even a single question to have an idea.
I think somebody of you must have appeared for certification exam or have some source for getting sample questions,
Please revert with some useful information....
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak,
I did not attend any MI certifications but can suggest you a few.
As people working on MI are very few,we need to wait and see untill the TechEd completes.
Any how from my exp working on MI for 1 year, i can suggest few things from MIddleware and backend.
1)Types of syncbo's(TO1,SO1,UO1,T51)(importance of these),unit testing syncbos(emulator),how we assign/unassign applications on our MI client using NWA,types of bapis, how we upload application to nwa.
    2) Client side...wat are the general APIs we need to use(Ex:to getlist of records, modify record from client, to sync etc we use specific APIs)(Need to know what all APIs to use.
    3) How to generate mobile ID using Merep_pd
    4) MI supports on what platforms.
    5) All MI features like (Replication, cascade download, cascade delete, filtering, multilanguage feature etc)
6)Smartsync tools as wella s generic sync related Questions
May be end to end work flow of MI will work(Create record from client and sync, check in worklist monitor and in Middleware and backend)
These are all very specific and basics of MI.
I heard SAP certifications are not going to be very easy.
So all the best for certification.
Hope this basic info helps you.
    Thanks,
    Karthick

  • SAP BW Web Application Designer- Style Sheet Reference

    Hi All,
Just wanted to find out if anyone knows how the style sheets are referenced in Web application designer 7. I need to change the colour of the total line. I can do this in se80 but how the style sheet is refrenced in the designer its self i what i would like to find out. I may be going down the wrong path and the layout and colours maybe controlled directly in the application designer itself, I am not sure, new to BI 7 tool set, use to 3.5!

    Hello,
It seems quite easy. You have just to maintain you style sheet on your MIME repository.
    Please, review these two threads:
