Sample Scenario For File To File.

Hi All,
I just wanted to know if I can create a sample File to File scenario using a file placed in local hard disk i.e. in C: Drive (Source) and D: Drive (Target)?
If no, please suggest me some steps to do a  File to File scenario without accessing any other servers or systems?
Regards,
Sreedhar, Av

Hi Sreedhar,
Yes its possible,You can install your own FTP in your system and can use the same as file sender and receiver. You have to choose FTP option instead of NFS and specify those FTP log on details in Your communication channels. You can make use of GUILD FTP which is free ware.
Please follow the below thread that helps you in doing that

    Hi,
For SOAP adapter configuration you need to first generate the WSDL from the ID and import that WSDl into the external definition.
Use that WSDL as a strucutre.

  • HT201250 I have 2 Lacie external drives connected to a Windows PC.  What is the best scenario for backing up files on both computers?  I would like to save all my files on one backup drive and have Time Machine backup that external drive to the other.

I don't know if this is a good idea, because the external drive is going to be slower than using my local hard drive to open files from.  My IMac has 1tb and the 2 external drives have 1tb each.  The IMac is my computer and my Wife uses the Windows PC, so I have to make sure both of our files are backed up.  Thanks in advance for any advice regarding this issue.

I'm in a similar situation including movies I've purchased from iTunes...
    Here's my setup:
I have all my iTunes data (music, movies, etc.) as well as about 10 GB of photos stored on a nework storage device that uses RAID-5 with SATA disks. This is basically a little toaster-sized NAS machine with four hard drives in it (www.infrant.com). If one of these drives dies, I get alerted and can insert a new one without missing a beat since the data is stored redundantly across all drives. I can also just yank out any one of the four drives while the thing is running and my data is still safe (I tried this after I bought it as a test).
That's how I prevent problems with a single disk... Redundancy
    Now onto "backups"...
Nightly, my little RAID toaster automatically backs itself up to an attached 250GB USB drive. However, these backups are only of my critical data... documents, photos and home movies... I don't bother backing up my "Hollywood" movies since I can live without them in a disaster.
... I actually don't permanently store anything I care about on a laptop or a desktop. It all goes on the NAS box (Network Sttached Storage) and then my other computers use it as a network drive. It's attached via Gigbait to my main computer and via wireless to most everything else.
My achilles heel is that I don't store anything outside of my house yet. If I was smart, I'd alternate two USB drives attached to my NAS box and always keep one of them somewhere else (Safe Deposit Box?).
...and that's just one way to do it.

target sales values are entered manually..
target core materials for month and year entered manually..
so in this case how can i approach...
whether i required to create any ztable for target sales  data..
if create table  is it required to create table maintenance genaratore ..
how those values are stored in sm30 transaction..
how can i pick sm30 values to my zreport..

U can create ZTable for target..
After creating ZTable, u need to create table maintenance in SM30.
    To create Table maintenance genetrator,
    Go to Utilities->Table maintenance generator
    Give the function group
    Authorization group .
    Maintenance type that is 1 . step or 2 . step .
Click on generate screen in the application tool bar .
Your screens will be generated .
Click on create Select the required option , save and come back
Then Create.Save. Now Table maintenance is created. which is only used to maintain data.
U need to fetch data from ZTable only.

  • How to e-mail a file? File- XI- e-mail scenario

    Hi guys!
I need to create a scenario for sending all files from one source directory to target e-mail address. I tried using it without mail package, but this renames the file (attachment) to a e-mail subject's name.
I need to send this file and need the file's name remain the same.
Any ideas how to achieve this?
    Thank you! Peter

Guys, if you'll have similar problem:
use e-mail package and map COntent_Type field:
    <type> / <subtype>; name=<dinamically_assigned_name_taken_from_file_adapter>
this renames your attachment to required name.

  • Correct adapter to use for an XML file

    Hi,
My current scenario for our business partner is that we are sending them an 850 and 856 then an XML file.
For 850 and 856, we are using AS2 adapter. For the XML file, could I still use the same adapter?  Or I need to use File adapter instead?
My scenario for the xml file is that an IDoc is converted to an XML file.  This XML file is then sent to the business partner.
    Please advise.
    Thanks very much.
    Regards,

    Hi VJ,
I just found out that I could also use the AS2 adapter to send the xml file to the trading partner.

    Hi Guru's
Good day to you. I am tyring to develop some scenarios based on RFC adaptor. so i want to start up with basic scenarios like RFC to File  scenario(Here i just want to pull some data from SAP using RFC and put it in destination folder as an text file) and FILE to RFC scenario (Here i just want to take some data from the file and update into SAP).
For doing these scenarios i would like to request you people to send me the step by step guide which explains me about the complete steps of configurations required to do the RFC to FILE scenario and FILE to RFC scenario.
I found some scenarios and i am in confused state. so i request you to please put your experience to help me out.
    thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Raj

    Hi Aaron,
I don't know your scenario and your ECC and PI versions but I learned how to use ABAP Proxy more than 1 year ago with the following tutorial:
Edit--> The forum doesn't allow me to post external link, just search "ABAP Proxy Communication Scenario" in google and visit the 1st result
The way to develop ABAP Proxys has changed a little if your PI is 7.1. In the ECC side, the transaction SPROXY looks much better too if you have a recent version of the ECC.
Edited by: Marshal on Oct 8, 2009 5:08 PM
I've found that SDN Document. Maybe the scenario is not the most simple to start with ABAP Proxy but is very well documented and is for PI 7.1. The document also handles the inbound and outbound proxys

  • Regarding Background Job scheduling for file to file scenario

    Hi Guru's
    Good morining all of u
I have one doubt on ...
can we do background job scheduling for file to file scenario?
Please give me response as early as possible.
    thanks and regards

    background jobscheduling for file adapter...
you can schedule the file adapter according to your requirement as follows:
In the  Communication Channel Monitoring Locate the link Availability Time Planning,  In Availability Time Planning, choose the Availability time as daily and say create, give the time details, select the communication channel in your case file adapter , goto the Communication Channels tab and filter and add the respective channel, save it

  • Datatypes for File to File Scenario

    Dear all,
i have a question concerning a file to file to file scenario in XI.
I simply just want so send a RTF-file to XI via FTP adapter and store it on a different FTP server according to the file name. I do not need any information for the content of the file. So I do not want to perform a File Content Conversion.
I know that it is it possible to implement this scenario without using the integration engine. But for monitoring purposes I'd like to do it anyway.
My question ist, what kind of message types I will have to choose. From my understanding, the file adapter should just store the content of the file in the payload as a binary data. So does it matter what kind of data type for the message interfaces i choose in integration builder. Of course, a message mapping is not required,
    Best regards
    Florian

    HI,
In File-XI-File scnearios, you need to have Sender File Communication Channel to pick the file and Receiver File Communication Channel to send the file.
You can create a Data Type something like this
    <DataTypeFile>
    <Row> ...</Row>
    </DataTypeFile>
    Also look into this Blog-
XI in the role of a FTP
FTP  receiver adapter does not transfer (STORE) file
