Most of the job is to be done in the Channel Adapter module for content conversion.
There's much more documentation about the File Content Conversion but most of it apply to JMS.
Can you be more specific in what you're looking for?

Flat File to Flat File Scenario using File Adapter

Hi Experts,
In my scenario, requirement is Flat File to Flat file through File Adapter in PI. At sender end, we would need to use Sender File Adapter (NFS) and receiver end we would need to use Receiver File Adapter (FTP). File would be coming as a encrypted format, and the file needs to be sent in encrypted format.
Any idea how to proceed with this requirement would be helpful.

Hi Soumya,
You need to choose the FTP in the "transport protocol" option. Then in the FTP connection parameters choose the option Connection Security and assign the value "FTPS for control and Data Connection". Then the "Command Order" will show up below that option and you could leave the default value itself. If you are using Public private key certificates of X.509 then you could choose the option "Use x.509 certificate for client authentication" and assign the values to the "keystore" and "certificate & private key" fields.
Note: To use the FTP with SSL you need to add the CA certificate to the TrustedCAs keystore view.

How to create a scenario using RFCsender adapter

Hi,
I'd like to create an RFC to RFC scenario. Just for a test. I can use receiver RFC adapter, but I don't know, how the sender one works. I even can't understand how to call it. Using the receiver side - I import RFC's metadata and call the FM. No problem with this. But what about the sender side? Should I create an empty FM, and int's importing parameters will be my Outbound interface, and exporting parameters my inbound interface (in case of a sync scenario)? If yes, when I call this FM, how does it know, that it should not run the (empty body?) of the function, but send the request to XI using RFC connection?

Acknowledgement for asynch scenario using SOAP adapter

Hi,
My scenario is SOAP to proxy asynchronous (using PI 7.1)
Sender is able to send the messages to XI using HTTPs protocol (SOAP adapter). since this is an asynchronous scenario XI could not send back any application acknowledge .
I understand if handshake is successful sender can see HTTP code 200 which is success.
1) Is it possible that though HTTP connection is successful and sender could not pass payload.
2) Is there any configuration needs to be done in PI 7.1 to send an acknowledge back to assure the sender that XI received payload.
3) Can we do the above using non BPM scenario.
or if BPM scenario is mandatory.

above acknowledgement is seen on SOAP UI as soon as SOAP UI delivers the message to the PI (irrespective of what will happen with the message in the PI).
As you know in case of Async scenario Application Ack is not possible !
But if you want to be sure if payload is received successfully the you can use BPM wherein you can have a switch which will check the existance of payload. and as per your requirment you can take a decision.

Problem with Send using JMS Adapter with Websphere MQ

Hi,
We have two scenarios using JMS Adapter with MQ:
1. File->PI->MQ
This works fine and drop the file in MQ correctly.
2. MQ->PI->File
This gives an error reading from the queue: (see highlighted in the log below). It correctly connects to the queue name. But it fails with the message "Could not begin a AF transaction".
Our PI version is 7.0 SP 13
Websphere MQ Version 6.0.
Any idea what could be wrong?

They are available and properly added to aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda.
The drivers are:

rmm.jar
These were installed per OSS note 747601.
Any other suggestions, why retrieving from MQ doesn't work?

Triggering an HTTP to file scenario using UDF

Is it possible to trigger an http to file scenario from UDF? If it is possible can anyone tell me how it can be acheived.

Alerts for a scenario in Advanced Adapter Engine

We have done an end to end scenario using advanced adapter engine in PI 7.1.
We have created an alert to give info abt an error which mite occur.
Do alerts work for messages which dont go to integration engine as the alert category is taken from abap stack?

Yes you can have alert mail/ message with AAE....just select where the error occured as Adapter Engine.

you can use XSLT or java mapping or adapter module to convert IDOC xml to XLS. Please refer the below blog

XI scenarios using Sender RFC Adapter

Hi Forum,
I am eager to know what kind of XI scenarios use sender RFC Adapter, can u give an example,
does this mean........executing a RFC in a R/3 system and the result of the execution goes to XI.....or,
does this means, like a sender JDBC Adpter, from XI, triggering execution of a RFC on a R/3, and getting back the result into XI............
can i have a step by step blog to create such a scenario....

Sorry for late reply.
Yes the 2nd reply was for receiver RFC.
1. As i mentioned To configure Sender RFC you need TCP\IP connection. in that connection you will use the option registered server program and will mention a program ID there.
2. Sudeep just remember, please configure RFC sender on XI side first and give a Program ID there, gateway service, host and login of your R3 system. Program id can be any string your name also. and please dont forget to activate the channel before going to R3 side.
3. Then configure RFC in R3 side, and mention that same program id. mention your gateway host as R3 name or IP and you can get the gateway service from Tcode smgw. it must be something like smgw<xx>.
and for ur information the program id is nothing but an identity on which basis the R3 system will search that which server object is active using that program id.
4. when you will write a report to execute that RFC in background, use Commit work as last statement.

When I look through the forum, I see a lot of questions about XI sample scenarios.
However, all the results are for SAP XI. Is there any or many sample scenarios for PI 7?
The methodology is the same, but there are a few differences procedurally. I
am looking for end to end scenarios if there are any.
