Sample Schemas for OBIEE development

Hello,
I am new with OBIEE and i want to play with different kind of reports. my question is, do you have sample schemas like the SH.sh which i got it from otn.oracle.com!
Or cam you give me some links where i can find these schemas ?!

The full version of BI Sample Application (not the lite) has a pretty good amount of sample data for practice. Have you tried using it?

How to get SUPPLIER2 schema for OBIEE training

Hi all,
I am a newbie to OBIEE.
I have been provided with a study material which guides me through with the SUPPLIERS2 schema examples.
Is it by anyway I can get that schema from any where ?
Also have checked with my DBA people, they are not aware of that schema, and asked me to do a search on getting it.
Guide me in this so that I can get in touch with my DBA people on achieving the same.

Downloading the Global Sample Schema for 11g Release 1

The global_11g_schema.zip does not download properly - the file appears to be corrupt. I have confirmed this with several people in other organisations as well - we all get the same problem. Is it possible to get the file updated?

Installed oracle 11g r1 on Linux server using response file (silent mode). I wanted to install the sample schema for testing so I updated the sample_schemas section in $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/dbca/templates/dbcreate.dbc
<option name="SAMPLE_SCHEMA" value="true">
<tablespace id="USERS"/>
</option>
After the installation I noticed sample schemas HR, SH were not created.
-     Do we have to manually create the sample schemas by running the individual scripts?
-     Also could not find the master script mksample.sql in the $ORACLE_HOME/demo/schema directory.
Please let me know if I am missing any parameter in dbcreate.dbc.

Thank you,You can't install manually the sample schemas since they come in a "pluggable tablespace" Examples which is automatically appended to your database by DBCA. If you would miss choosing the option for the same, you would need to get them created through the Examples Media CD and follow the instructions given here.

No Sample Schemas in OracleAS10g 10.1.2 Infrastructure database

Hi, all!
I have installed OracleAS10g 10.1.2 Infrastructure instance on Windows 2003 Server by standard installation procedure. I see that Oracle database in that instance have version 10.1.0.3.1. Now I need fresh sample schemas for learning JDeveloper features. But in Infrastructure database I have no sample schemas. On OTN's Oracle10g Database download page I see only version 10.1.0.2 for MS Windows (32-bit). So I have only Sample Schemas from Oracle Database 10g Companion CD Release 1 (10.1.0.2) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit).
Can I use this version of Sample Schemas to install into my Infrastructure Database 10.1.0.3.1?

I have the same problem.
I located the demo schemas on another machine but when I want to run the script to create them it asks me for the passwords and the metadata script:
specify INPUT metadata import file as parameter 8:
I have no idea where that file is.....
Can anyone help me?

Sample schema oe_main.sql

Hi...Ive installed 10g db, Personal Edition and attempting to add the sample schemas HR/OE. I can find the hr_main.sql in the $ORACLE_HOME/.../demo folder. I now need the oe_main.sql to finish install of sample schemas for my purposes...
Does anyone have a copy or know where I can get the oe_main.sql for 10g and JDeveloper sample schemas?

I cant be sure that they are the same as I dont have them to compare. I do know that when running the 9i version of hr_main.sql, we are prompted with multiple parameter entries, but when using 10g version we receive no parameter entries, just successful completion. In some of the called proceudres, there have been updates e.g hr_code.sql. This is from comparison of the hr code...have no idea with the oe code. Ive since tried reinstallations of 10g and now all the expected code cant be found...
There must be a source other than through the installation, where we can copy the same code from...similar to the 9i documentation which contained the full code in text...but then thats not Jdev but RDBMS docs...

Authentication Scheme for sample application in Oracle Express

All, I recently installed Oracle Express on linux and I was browsing the sample application and when I look up the Authentication Scheme for this app I get the message
No authentication schemes have been defined. You can create a new authentication scheme starting with the Create Scheme button above
Now when I click "Authentication Status " I see

Yet when I run the app I know it is looking up the data in the demo_users table. What I don't see is where the function custom_auth is defined for this app as the function to call for authenticating users. Can someone point me in the right direction.
Also has anyone upgraded apex in express to 2.2. Any issues?

I think i found it when you are in list view no schemes appear. However, when you switch to detail view then I can see the custom scheme.

VirtualBox Image for OBIEE 11.1.1.5 - Sample Applications v107

Hi,
I've downloaded the VirtualBox Image for OBIEE 11.1.1.5 - Sample Applications v107.
I have Windows 7 64 bit in one partition and Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition in another partition.
1. Which OS is good for installing this VirtulalBox Image?
2. When I install VirtualBox software, should I select the Networking features? I'm not sure if I need it since I will only be running this in my computer for evaluation and learning. It seems it will create network adapters and I don't want it to mess up other settings in my PC.

I don't know if it helps since it was posted long time ago but I'd suggest to use windows 7 (64 bit) since it the virtual box with the sample App seems to work quite well on it. Also I am not too sure what you mean with the network features but certainly the virtual box would create a network called Virtual Box Host but it doesn't mess up (change at all) your other network connections.

I have installed oracle 11g database without the sample schemas. In the standard set of sample schemas we had an example Information Exachange schema (for queue), and a Sales Historyschema . Howver I am not getting the sample scripts for these two schemas in my demo directory.
Can you please let me know where can I get access to the scripts?
I have a requirement for a OLTP datastore which can receive high volume of data from an external system(Expecting max of 6gb data). I am planning create a separate schema , with dedicated tablespaces, Is it a good idea to have one datafile with a maxsize set to 6gb or to have a set of 3 starting at 1000m locally managed and a max size of 2gb each. There are not many indexes needed, however I need to set up an in queue and out queue as well. If I create this schema them do I need to revisit my redolog groups or temp table sizing as well to keep my existing database performance intact?
Is there any standard guidelines to follow for a schema where you expect large volume of data,has multiple queues?

Where is HR Sample Schema Script for APEX 2.2

Just installed APEX 2.2 and am reviewing the 2-day developers guide. In there they give many examples based on an HR sample schema which they say can be downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/code/hr_sample_schema.sql
I'm finding this address invalid. Does anyone know the right url for the script or can someone supply it to me?

Usually, I wouldn't think the follow-up action would be an issue with system performance. You say 7000 items, but do you mean 7000 UD's? I.e. an inspection lot of 1000 units isn't unusual and that would be 7 inspection lots. You've also now said that the program needs to look across plants for UD rejections and for notifications. That is another level of complexity.
While the UD follow-up action should still be able to handle that, I can't say it won't affect performance. I was going to suggest you have it only run on certain UD codes, but since you now need to reveiw this across plants that might not work.
What happens if my vendor/material is in a skip stage at plant A and Plant B opens a notification agains the vendor? Since there is no UD, the follow-up action wouldn't run and change the DMR at plant A.
If you need to look at a bunch of stuff, instead of the follow-up action, you may need to run a program in batch and have it run once an hour or every 10 minutes. Depending on how you write it, it could be pretty efficient.
