Sample Storing issue

Dear QM Guru's - Need help with the below scenario.
Purchase order is created in Plant A for Plant B. Vendor Sends the Samples to Plant A for inspection. After inspection is accepted in Plant A, Vendor delivers the material to Plant B & there is no further inspection in plant B.
So is there a standard way to receive & store samples in Plant A? Any Comments/Thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

You can create Plant B as vendor.
Then use ® Quality management ® Quality inspection ® Sample management ® Physical sample ® Create(QPR1) -->to create the sample Manually .
Use this sample Number in future to store the sample received from plant B.

  • MiniDV audio sample rate issue

I cannot get the audio sample rate to match. I have captured miniDV footage (32mhz/12bit). In Sequence settings the audio options for bit are 8, 16, 24. My audio is out of sync!!!! What can I do? I have 2 hours of raw footage and can't proceed! Any help is VERY appreciated. thanks in advance!

    Hi again!
Hum ... that´s not as simple as it could be!
That way i´ll have to capture twice?!
There must be another way of doing it , i don´t think Avid can do it and FCP don´t .
As i told you i use both systems and i know they´re limitions (or i think i know!), but it´s strange because Avid Xpress DV 3.5 (from the age of stone ) do it in a blink ... ok ... found an FCP limitation!
    Thank you!
If there´s another way ... please feel free to post it!

  • External sound card sample rate issue

After installing Yosemite I am having problem with Sample Rate settings on my external audio interface. It was working perfectly before the upgrade.
The issue is that the sample rate on my system is set to 44.1 Khz. When a new application attempts to access the audio card it plays but breaks up. This is indicative of a sample rate issue so I tried to set the rate to 48 Khz and then back to 44.1 Khz. Once I do this the system works properly until another application tried to use the card and I have to repeat the same process over again. While it DOES work it is not correct functionality and there is obviously something wrong.
At first I thought is was just my system until my friend also commented on it happening to him too.
I am using an RME Fireface UFX with the latest drivers issued on October 8th of this year.
My friend is using an M-Audio unit and he is finding the same issue.
I have already checked everything in Audio / Midi Set-up control and reinstalled the drivers for my audio interface. I also looked for any new settings to Yosemite to see if there was something new that might affect this. No luck and no leads on where to look for the next option.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,
The  sound card do not support all sample rates. Which sample rates your sound card support you will find in the the manual.goto help in the toolbar select find examples and search for sound Open the Sound Input to File.vi file. This will give you a template for recording sound. You have to set the sample rate then open a sound file for write.
Please post a sample VI that you have created.

  • 9.0.1 EXS24 Sampler Instruments issue

After the 9.0.1 update, about half of my EXS24 instruments are now named "sampler instrument" or just "instrument." The presets in the subfolders still have their correct names. None of the factory instruments have this problem, but many 3rd party instruments do. I tried replacing my entire sampler instruments folder with a backup, but the problemis still there. Tried disk permissions, still no go. Any ideas? Trash prefs (I haven't tried that yet, not sure if there are EXS prefs or not...

I noticed the same issue after installing the Logic 9.01 update. Thankfully, the 3rd party instruments still work with EXS24. They still sound as they should (for me, anyway). Unfortunately, the main folder names of the 3rd party instruments are different (as described in the original post) than what I originally created. So, to clarify, "just" the display names to the 3rd party instrumental libraries are at fault. This was not the case for Logic 8.02 (or even Logic 9.0, for that matter). So, it appears that this is a new bug in the latest version of Logic.
All of my instrumental libraries are stored on a separate audio drive. I created "Alias" folders/files that pointed to the audio drive and placed them as originally directed (2+ years ago) in the Macintosh HD drive. In an attempt to figure out a work around to this possible bug, I renamed the "Alias" folders to the 3rd party instruments. It wasn't helpful.
    Any suggestions??

  • Where are EXS24 Factory Samples stored?

I am opening a LogicPro project I created a year ago, and the EXS24 sampler can't find several samples. It seems that several of the old Factory samples are no longer on my drive. I have done nothing to remove them. Could this have happened when upgrading to Mountain Lion and/or updating LogicPro?
Do I need to reinstall everything from the original Logic Studio DVD's?
I am also a little confused about where EXS24 presets are stored - or should be stored. I seem to lose contact with them quite often.
And also, when I go to Preferences in EXS24 and set "search samples" to "All volumes", save my project, quit Logic, open any project again - the setting is always back to "Local volume". I tried to delete LogicPro prefs etc. in Finder, but the problem is still there.
    Any help is welcome!

  • Rotating object sampling quality issues

A student of mine asked this question today. Rotating sharp-edged artwork seems to be problematic in Photoshop.
    Take this grid:
    Original file (6 colours):
    www.estructor.biz/testje/grid2.png
    Now rotate by 45 degrees.
These are the results in Photoshop CS6 labeled by sampling method:
    www.estructor.biz/testje/ps_grid.png
And these are the results in Photoline (latest beta introduced improved two new sampling algorithms):
    www.estructor.biz/testje/pl_grid.png
I uploaded the raw png files to my own server, otherwise the quality may be affected by the upload function here.
To compare both, open them in Photoshop and zoom to 200% or 400%, and notice how Photoshop's versions do not compare favourably: some sort of unsharp mask sharpening effect was introduced, resulting in halos.
The CatmullRom version generated in Photoline seems to be the best one, though the ones with MitchellNetravali, Lanczos3 and even bicubic all arguably produced better anti-aliased versions than the ones in Photoshop. In Photoshop only Bicubic Smooth is acceptable (in my opinion), though the anti-aliasing is too smooth looking.
I am aware the effects can be subtle - though they are quite noticeable. I mean, why does Photoshop's bicubic sampling prodube such an inferior version compared to Photoline? It makes no sense.
A secondary observation I made is that Photoshop's version introduced 2271 colours into the rotated version, while Photoline only used 231 unique colours after transformation. Which, with Photoline's version being the superior one, exacerbates the problem in my view, because it will add to the final artwork's file size (may be very important for both web graphics and 2d game graphics).
From a user experience view point, another issue is that Photoshop CS6 will not render the final result as a preview before the actual transformation is applied - meaning the user is left to first apply the transformation, and then she/he is forced to undo, and redo until satisfied. In Photoline, for example, the transformation's sampling method can be changed and the actual result is shown before committing to a sampling method.
All this is not that important to me for my own personal work, because I switched to Photoline and other software more than a year ago. However, I do still want to be able to answer questions from students in regards to Photoshop, so I feel it is an important aspect.
So, my (and my students') questions are:
    - is it possible to turn off that unsharp mask-like effect when rotating?
    - are there ways to improve the sampling somehow?
    - down-sampling sharp artwork also introduces similar problems. Any way to circumvent them?
    - placing the grid/dragging the grid file into a photoshop file produces a terrible result. Only by opening the grid file first, and copying and pasting is the original artwork preserved. Drag and drop does not function properly (and refuses to place at 100% automatically). Any solutions to change the drag and drop behaviour to automatically resample?
(btw, this does not happen in Photoline either - drag and drop does not (and should not!) resample in this case!)
    - have these issues been resolved in Photoshop CC latest version?
    - if the current versions of CS6 or CC do not offer solutions for this type of work, is this something that will be fixed in an upcoming release? Or is it not at all on the radar?
    Thanks.
ps As mentioned before in the Illustrator forum, exporting sharp artwork from Illustrator at low screen resolutions is by far the lesser of a viable option - the anti-aliasing is absolutely horrid, unless the artwork is directly imported into Photoshop and severely blown up, and then scaled down. And even then the results are not on par with Mitchel-Netravali and Catmul Rom.

@Steve: thanks, but I am quite experienced, and I did not import the vector itself, but a straightforward bitmap grid to avoid any interpolation while importing and converting the vector graphic itself. Also see the first paragraph in my response to Mike below .
@Mike: importing the grid as a smart illustrator object does indeed help - but the lines are too thick and dark looking compared to Mitchell-Netravali and Catmull-Rom.
Exporting your screen sized artwork from Illustrator using the save for web option is positively the worst option: the quality is unacceptable in most cases. I've done a small write up concerning the bad anti-aliasing as a result of Illustrator's web export here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6002543#6002543
The only workable solution to get the best anti-aliased down-scaled artwork from Illustrator is to blow up the artwork to a large size, then rasterize, and scale down again. Even then the final quality as a result of the built-in sampling algorithms of Photoshop will not be on par with Photoline or ImageMagick.
And, of course, not always is a vector version available. The screen artwork I receive is often bitmap based, which proves to be problematic for transformation jobs in Photoshop.
Gif is merely 8bit indexed, and would not solve the issue - reducing the number of colours is no solution for poor anti-aliasing along edges.
@Chris: I am unsure how you can say that - yes, Catmull-Rom is known to be a less than ideal re-sampling method for up-scaling images. That said, it works wonderfully well for down-sampling images or as a sampling method to transform lower resolution bitmap based artwork - essential for screen based work and web jobs.
Lanczos does a meagre job for down-sampling (with Lanczos8 especially bad in terms of artifacts), but a very good job for up-sampling images. We have to know the goal to identify the best method/approach/solution.
Although I am certain you are familiar with the math, the example shown on this page demonstrates that Catmull-Rom and Mitchell-Netravali do in fact work best for down-sampling images: http://pixinsight.com/doc/docs/InterpolationAlgorithms/InterpolationAlgorithms.html
And I am not inventing all this - for lower resolution sharp edged illustrative artwork Photoshop has always been rather awkward. The sampling methods currently implemented in Photoshop deal very well with high resolution artwork and photographic media, but fare poorly with lower resolution graphics.
The demonstration files I prepared earlier and linked in my original question show unequivocally that Photoshop's current sampling algorithms deal poorly in this regard! I did not even bother to include Bicubic Automatic, because that looked positively awful.
I do understand why that is - traditionally it has never been Photoshop's focus I think. Looking at the bare-bones results, though, I am inclined to conclude that both Mitchell-Netravali and Catmull-Rom do indeed produce superior results for down-sampling and re-sampling during transformations of lower resolution images - both sharp-edged artwork, as well as photos.
This has been my experience for years now dealing with 2d game graphics, web work, and general screen graphics work. It is one of the reasons why I left Photoshop and Illustrator early on for this type of work.
So it eludes me why these are not available in Photoshop. Because as far as the results are concerned, they seem to be quite good enough to ship.

  • LogicX - Maverick - Sample Rate issue with Audio Interface

As a test prior to updating my Mac Pro and iMac, I loaded ML so I could test out LogicX.  I've been running Logic 9 either using the built in audio or a Line6 guitar Port.  The MBP is a late 2009, non retina, 13 in with 4 GB Ram.  As compared to my iMac, the laptop can barely play back my tracks which are mostly software instruments (I don't record audio until the midi arrangements are finalized).
So, I updated to ML to try out X and of course, had to deal with the 32 bit plugin issue.  Luckily, 32 Lives and Vienna helped out with 90% of my plugins.
Now, I updated to MAV and had to go through an arduous process of re validating the AU plugins for both Logic 9 and X.
After doing so, I loaded up a song that did have a single bass audio track.  I updated the Guitar Port driver from Line 6 to the latest driver.  The song will start, but then I get a stuttering and an error message about running the audio at a weird sample rate, eg 28654.  I tried using the built in audio and same issue.
I opened the song in Logic 9 and it works.
Any suggestions?  Do you think one of the resurrected plugins is causing this problem?  Everything worked OK in ML though.
    Thanks and appreciate any help.

Let me start over ... the typical audio setting that FCP works with is 48khz, 16 bit stereo. If you check the sequence settings, it will probably show that to be the case unless you've created a sequence with other settings. The audio of any clip you bring into FCP really needs to match the sequence settings. To check the sequence settings go to Sequence->Settings.
So far, you've confirmed the clip is 48khz sampling rate but you didn't say what it's bit depth was. In FCP, right click on the clip and select "Item Properties." That will tell you the information I've been asking about.

  • Audio sampling rate issue using USB 6008

    Hello,
I'm trying to input audio into the analog ports of my DAQ 6008. I'm using labview 8.5, and generated the DAQ assistant (express), used array index to output the 4 microphone channels into the waveform chart IV (i.e. I'm display 4 charts for the four analog microphone inputs).
when I run it, the charts, on the screen, update every 1 sec it seems, which is MUCH slower than I would like to sample at (I perfer the max, of around 10K/s).   does anyone know why it's sampling so slow, and how I can improve this?
    thank you,
    dave

i cannot use waveform graph instead of chart, becuase i'm gathering scalars, and waveform graph requires at least 1D array data.  Also, in DAQ assistant, how do I set these blocks your refering too?  The only sampling options i see are sampling type (i.e. continuous), samples (which doesn't matter for continuous sampling), and rate (which I've maxed out at 2.5k).
In the DAQ assistant, the rate of data is being displayed at the correct rate, but in the front panel, and in the file I'm writing too, I'm see only about 1-2 data poins per sec....
below is a copy of my VI  (note, the system automatically insets a dynamic to array converted.
    thank you!

  • Sample rate issues in Audition CC and CS6

I'm using a Blue Spark mic with the usb adapter and I keep getting an error message saying the sample rates don't match the device.  I've tried several different sample rates and none of them work.  I can monitor the audio from the mic but when I hit record the error message pops up.
Here is the message I keep getting and the settings I'm using: http://imgur.com/a/WpJST.  (For some reason the insert image button isn't working so I just linked the screenshots through an image host.)  For some reason the icicle doesn't show up as an output device so I just chose a default.

  • Calculate the average value of 10000 samples stored in a file. LVM with LabView

Hello, I'm using a NI 6034 to acquire through _ LabView a signal in volts from a pressure transducer, these data then save them to a file. Lvm using the "write to a file" (at least I think you call it or something like that). I would have 2 questions:
    1) you can always using the virtual instruments to implement a block I calculate directly the average of these 10 thousand values without having to go to the star on excel every time?
    2) is it possible to somehow remove the header that LabView a creates by default in the file. LVM when you save?
I hope someone will give me an answer because I'm really losing a lot of precious time to pass each time data from lvm file to the excel.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Marco86,
    1. You should be able to read the data directly from the .lvm file in LV. Use the Express VI Read from Measurement File. You can wire the Signals output to the X input of the Mean.vi from the Mathematics >> Probability & Statistics palette.  LV will automatically insert a conversion from the Dynamic Data Type output of the Read to the 1D Array of Doubles that Mean needs.
    2. I rarely use the Write to Measurement FIle Express VI so I am not sure whether you can completely suppress the header.  If you use the Write to Spreadsheet File.vi you get a tab delimited text file containing only your data converted to text and delimiters.  You can create you own headers by writing a string array to the file before writing the numeric data.  Of course you can have complete control over everything in the file by using the low level file functions and data manipulation and string conversion functions.

  • Sample Rate Issue

This may come off as a really stupid situation, but i've got files I tried to drag and drop into Logic that are 48000 24bit files, and logic seems to be playing them back slower and off pitch. I do have logic set to record in 24bit mode, but that's not fixing things.
Anyone know how to remedy this? Thx!

Import the audio file instead of drag and dropping it into Logic. This will convert the file to the correct settings currently used by Logic. I know a bit weird but that's the way it is for the moment
