Sample website made with FC

Made this for a friend who likes to make music and wanted online presence. I made it within a day's work more or less, and it's nothing special + there isn't much content but I'm putting it here just in case people want to have a look at sample sites. Here you go: http://dancewithenzo.cz.cc/
Now I'm trying to recreate some parts of it but with added features/complexity in Panini, which is really promising!

Some pages can be edit on the Business Catalyst Console, but, unfortunately, some other pages can't.

I have try the edit mode with Firefox and Chrome and no one doesn’t work.
For the french pages, I must reload the page to have the blue blocks. And if I do that on an english one, it switches on the french one...

Hi,
I have just checked at my end and it seems everything is working fine and I am able to edit even the English version pages.
Can you please try some other browser or in a different system to edit your site and check if you are able to do so.

No but you might try Flux. It can open existing websites and is a very good alternative to iWeb which has been discontinued by Apple. You can still use iWeb but will have to build your site from scratch. If you do decide to use iWeb check out Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site which has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the creation of the new site.

I have made a good website with iWeb and now I have find the jQuery library.
In my site is a formular made with the HTML Widget of iWeb.
And if you only click on the send button it shows you a jQuery Dialog.
But you can't see the full Dialog.

I would only that the jQuery Dialog appears in the middle of the main website and not in the HTML Snippet!
Have you any idea how can I do this?
Open the webpage after publishing and add the code there.

You may have to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DOM, AJAX and how iWeb creates its pages.
And why would you want to use jQeury for a <form> ?
Simpy ask and answer that question to yourself. Why?

IPhone and my website made with iWeb

Sorry for the long title.
I am a full time presbyterian pastor who also has a home-based business on the side. Anyway this is a question for those who use iWeb and for those who may have an iPhone. I have made a website using iWeb (06) for this business (I am not trying to promote it here but just want my question) and when I check the main page via FF for Mac and/or the older version of IE for Mac it looks OK.
However, after dong a few changes when I look at the site with my iPhone the banners that I have on that page run up over my texts. :confused: I know that the iPhone is compressing the images, etc but I don't know how to fix the website so it looks normal (even though I may not be myself)whether one is using a computer or the iPhone. Anyway my url is www.pure-es.com Ifor anyone willing to check it out (via iPhone if possible as well as with your computer). Sorry if this is the wrong forum, to put this in.

I found out that all I had to do was move my text and re-do the of my table, etc. It not looks OK again in the iPhone and browsers for the computer.

If you want to try another website creating package, I would have a look at http://www.webacappella.fr. Somebody else on this forum said that they were going to use this, so I had a look at it myself and was quite impressed by it.
You can download the free version to try it out and see what you think, but it is very easy to use and you can drag and drop and it does contain things that we all wished that iWeb has, such as the ability to integrate buttons with rollover and you can also add drop down menus, contact forms and Google maps and you can also publish to any server.
There is no learning curve involved, as with things like Flux 4 and it is very simple and intuitive to use - you can use a built in template and modify it or you can start from scratch and create your own template and once you have your header, navigation menu and footer in place, you can save all this and then apply it to all your other pages with a click and then with other pages, you can just go in and alter the content. If you wish to alter the template, you just go to the template page and alter it there and every other page is then altered automatically.
You can also add your own code if you want to. This tool might just give the new EasyWeb software from Rage a run for its money and the other good thing about WebAcappella is that you are not tied into purchasing hosting, like you will be with Rage - you can publish to any server that you want.
Have a look and see for yourelf. The only other draw back is that it is not cheap to buy, but you can download it and use the free version to see what you think. The paid version has SEO built into it.

Thank you in advanced. My website WWW.KAYSER9SOZE.COM is up and running. I had it in iweb06 but upgraded so I wouldn't have to use webenhancer. Since changing my site to iweb08 my traffic has turned to none. I went from several hundred visitors a day to a few dozen a day. I am offering prizes and have media on my site and games and can for the life of me figure out why my site is doing worse now. I host thru 1and1.com so I made an auto sitemap for google adsense. Can anyone advise me on how to make my website more relevant to search engines and traffic. I have submitted my url to two free search engines can you recommend others that dont charge?.

note that google takes something like two months to update its list of urls. Changing from iWeb '06 to '08 may have changed also the links. So google may not be up-to-date and pointing your visitors still to old non-existent pages. I'd recommend you to be patient

In google write "site:yourdomain" to see which pages are included. If I do that for your site and click on pages I mostly only get blank pages... http://www.google.ch/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=site%3AWWW.KAYSER9SOZE.COM&bt nG=Google+Search&meta=
Which means to me... They have changed and aren't up to date...

what software would you suggest?

Firstly, did you not think to do a search of this forum before posting? If you had, you would have found literally hundreds of topics on alternative packages to iWeb. It is discussed on an almost daily basis!
If you still wanted to use iWeb you could. Do you still have your installation discs from your old Mac? If so and if it had iWeb on it, then you can still install it from those discs.
Your other alternative is to purchase from Amazon - look for either iLife 11 or iLife 09, both of which contain iWeb 09.
The other alternatives to look at depending on what you want could be RapidWeaver, Sandvox, Freeway Express/Pro and Flux 4. Most have free month long trials that you can download and try before you buy. Also take a look at something called Quck and Easy Website Builder.
There is also a new app being developed called the EasyWebApp that was supposed to be being unveiled at the end of January.
Along with those there are also online alternatives such as http://www.wix.com and then you have Content Management Systems (CMS's) such as Drupal and Joomla.
You have lots of alternatives, so you now need to search these forums and do your own research into which alternative is going to be best for you.

Editing a website made with iWeb

I am a new webmaster for a club at my university and the previous webmaster used iWeb to design the website. I am having difficulty going back to the website and changing and editing things. I don't know what information I need in order to gain access to "edit" it. I understand how the program works and everything, but I just need to Edit it and I don't want to create a whole new website. Thanks so much!

You'll need to obtain the Domain.sites file that the webmaster used originally to create and publish the website. Once you get a copy of it you will be able to make any changes to the site, publish those changes to a folder on your hard drive and then upload them to the server with a 3rd party FTP client like YummyLIte, Transmit or Cyberduck.
If you're running Lion or Mt. Lion the following will apply:
In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

There are a few bugs with the simap.xml generation but basically you have got a manual sitemap.xml there.
Because you see it in the folder structure (you should not if it is dynamic) it is a static sitemap.xml and will never be udpated by the system.
Delete that one there and if you go here in the new UI: /AdminConsole/#!/Utilities/SEO.aspx
Ensure the sitemap.xml is turned on.
Wait for a day and you should see the new sitemap come to life.

Website Hosting with Business Catalyst

I recently discovered the existence of Business Catalyst and I read that this solution was passing by and dedicated hosting provided by Adobe (MyDomainName / businesscatalyst.com). I wanted to know if it is possible to work with this solution on specific servers (shared or dedicated)?
In fact, is it possible to design and manage BC sites hosted on their own space hérgement (mydomainname.com)?

I understand you can not host a website made with BC on a server other than Adobe. I think it is a weakness because customers like to know exactly where their site is located. In addition, Adobe is not really recognized in France as host ... not to mention SEO (French website + hoster French = best SEO). It's a pity because I think BC really promising ... However, I will like you've shown me look at the different documentation.

You need to transfer your domain.sites file from your MacBook to your iMac. This is the file where iWeb stores all info and can be found under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
Transfer this file from your MacBook to the same place on your iMac and double click the domain.sites file and iWeb will open it on your iMac and you can update your site from there too.
