Samples from Computer Music Magazine CD

If anyone out there buys or is subscribed to this magazine and gets the monthly DVD with the thousands of samples, how does one import them so that they can be seen within the loops samples directoy in garaband?
I draggged and dropped them and they were automatically copied to library/audio but I cant see them in GB

I'd be fine with some more shares (Heck a little more PPS would make me happy with what I have), but a few dollars (or even table scraps) would be nice.
Aside from the ones not being in the same time code?, as you mentioned
not showing up, most are not being transfered.
It sounds like some are tagged properly, and the rest aren't (Assuming the time sig is the same and "Keyword Browsing" is deselected in GB's prefs).
If I drag and drop this entire folder into ALU, will it create a lager loops folder for
to be able to then drag into GB? By converting some of the non drgable directly into GB samples.
It's a little more complicated than that if you want them to really be usable in the loop browser. STLU tags the samples with keywords to identify them in the Browser, so you would want to drop groups of loops, at best, into STLU. Then you would tag them as Guitar, Drum, Woodwind, etc, the key...
Then finally, yes, drop all the processed loops into the loop browser and they will appear under their proper instrument buttons.

DVD-ROMs from Computer Music Magazine won't mount

I have an intel iMac model 10,1 running OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8. (I still like some old PPC games....)
Just recently I have been unable to load any of my (many) data DVD-ROMs from this magazine to instal music software etc. The disc loads, and gets spat out after a short time. Music and data CDs work. Normal movie DVDs load normally.
I did the Repair Permissions and zap the PRAM things. Still no luck... Any advice?

It also might help to clean and polish the CDs that are no longer reading in your Super Drive.

Also if at some point your Super Drive fails, you might want to consider a more reliable Mac compatible tray loading external DVD drive instead of replacing the internal Super Drive.

You need to look for your itunes library under Computers and select it, then music.
Music column is for web based content not local content, just to confuse everyone.

Uncheck Edit > Preferences > Store > Show iTunes in the cloud purchases
The correct way to move iTunes from one computer to another is to copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer. This will make everything in iTunes on the new computer exactly as it was on the old computer.

Unable to hear sound when playing Music Sampler from website

Hi
I am unable to hear any sound when trying to listen to music samples on Amazon (for example) and also other websites. I have enabled Firewall to all the internet player, which does launch and start playing but there is no sound.
The volume is definately up on the speakers and I have tested Windows Media Player and it plays radio and other music on my pc perfectly well. So I am unsure as to why I cannot hear the music samples from websites now (I have done in the past).

Did you check if the Wave volume control in the Sound and audio devices was set to higher level???
This control is responsible for the sound volume of any music files.

First, if you are using the latest iTunes, it may hide the sidebar. To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.

The document also shows the FOUR shuffle models. The methods for syncing depend on model (1st and 2nd gen versus 3rd and 4th gen). The current shuffle is 4th gen. If you have more questions, you should provide your shuffle model.

Playng music from computer with an external DAC

I'm a new enter of this forum and I'm happy for this.
I'm not very expert on computer and I use it only for work, but in this period I'm in troble because I am not able to play computer music with my HiFi equipment passing throw an external DAC, recently acquired.
For this purpose I've bought:
1) Digitalpclink (USB to Optical&SPDIF converter)
2) Emagic 6/2m
in both cases the istruments worked fine on windows systems but failed to work on my Mac.
Have someone something to tell me at this regard?

Easiest way is to continue to use the external drive for your main library. And then create and maintain a much smaller library on your internal drive for when you are away from the computer's external hard drive. Here is the instructions for creating and/or opening alternate libraries...

Before you leave on a trip, set the laptop to use the internal drive library. Then while the external hard drive is still hooked up you can use the File -> Add to Library... to add tracks (songs, videos, etc.) to the library by pointing to the files on the external drive which will then be added to the library and copied to the internal drive. You can also delete stuff out of the internal to make room you don't need on that trip knowing everything is safely on the external drive.
