Samsung 16-50mm Lightroom Lens Profile missing

Afternoon
I have a Samsung NX-3000 Camera with bundled 16-50MM lense which came with a free copy of Lightroom 5.  My question is - there doesn't seem to be a lens profile for this particular lense, nor can I find one on the web.  When I click on the list of manufacturer "Makes" under lens correction profiles, Samsung is not listed.
Any ideas folks?

Lens profiles for mirrorless cameras are built-in and cannot be turned off so there is nothing in a dropdown list to select.  Are you seeing significant distortions or just wondering why the lens is not shown in the list of profiles that can be turned on and off?

  • Lens Profiles missing in Lightroom 3.3

I'd like to know if the lens profiles have being erased in lightroom 3.3....
I used other prior versions of LR and I always see my lens profiles...
How to enable or see them again??
Don't want to use the lens profile creator but something like lens profiler downloader (I saw It's named but I don't see any link to the application).
Thank you in advance for any help.
    Diego

The lens profile creator and lens profile down loader can be found here. Note the down loader is an Adobe Air application so you will also need to install Air if you haven't already.
As far as the Adobe profiles go these are installed with LR itself. They are specific to Raw or JPG's so may not have disappeared it may just be you are trying to use them on the wrong file format.
If they have somehow disappeared then you will need to reinstall LR, but check out this first.
The location of the Adobe supplied profiles is on a W 7 machine
    ProgramData/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles
Your own ones and ones downloaded by the profile down loader will be installed in the User folder.

  • Looking for lightroom lens profile for tamron lens

I am using lightroom 5 at work and shot some images with a canon 5d2 body with tamron 24-70 2.8 vc and tamron 70-200 2.8 vc lense. According to the note below, both lens are supported since lightroom 4.1.  However I can not find the profile of these two lens on lightroom 5.  Does anyone how I can bring the profile back in?  Thanks.

The ProgramData folders are for Photoshop and are probably as old as the newest version of PS or DNG Converter you have.
The lens profiles for Lightroom 4 and 5 are under LR's Resources subfolder:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom x.x\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\
(x.x = whatever version of LR you have)
For my LR 4.4  I have the following 16 subfolders under LensProfiles\1.0:
    Apple
    Canon
    Fujifilm
    Hasselblad
    Leica
    Mamiya
    Nikon
    Pentax
    Phase One
    Samsung
    Schneider
    Sigma
    Sony
    Tamron
    Tokina
    Zeiss
LR 5.3 adds DJI and GoPro as manufacturers for a total of 18 subfolders.

  • Lens Profiles Missing?

    Hi all,
I have Lightroom 3 and just this morning noticed that all of the preloaded lens profiles are missing. I've been using the program for 3 years now and they've always been there previously. The only one available is SIGMA. I have a Canon, so all of those are gone. At the bottom of the box in "Develop" it says "Unable to locate a matching profile automatically."
I am running on Windows and tried repairing, but it seems to be missing the installation file that it needs.
Is there a way to download and install the profiles for just the lenses I have? Or, do I need to completely re-install? If that's the case, will all of my libraries stay in tact?
    Thanks in advance.
ETA: Upon more Googling, it seems a potential cause of this was my recent UNINSTALL of Photoshop. I did uninstall Photoshop recently, but why would that affect Lightroom??

Photoshop and LR use the same set of lens profiles. Uninstalling PS uninstalls the profiles. It's an error on Adobe's part, and one that has been around for a while.
You'll have to re-install Lightroom. Don't worry. That won't harm any of your data.

  • Lens Profile missing in LR5

    Hi
Since I upgraded from LR4 to 5.4 I seem to have lost some lens profiles. In particular I'm looking for a Nikon profile for my 28-300 lens, working in RAW mode.
Nor can I see the lens profile in the list of profiles available when using the Adobe Lens Profile Down-loader (but perhaps I'm just blind).
    If I browse to
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.4\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\Nikon
I do see a file called:
    NIKON D3X (Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 ED VR) - RAW.lcp
However this profile is not available to me within Lightroom. I only have a handful of lens profiles available as follows:
I'm sure that I'm doing something dumb, but any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Steve

Lens profile created for raw files aren't available (can't even be seen in list) when editing non raw files (e.g. jpg) and vice versa. Check that this isn't the reason in your situation.

  • Lens Profile Missing LR3 Mac

    Running LR3 3.4.1 on MBP 2.8 OSX 10.6.8.
The Lens Profile for my Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L USM is missing from the profile choices in Lens Correction. FWIW my Canon EF 24-70 f2.8 USM and Canon EF 70-200 f 2.8 ism do show as well as many other profiles.
When I went to the Library>Application Support>Adobe>Camera Raw>Lens Profiles>1.0>Canon I can see 86 profiles. Most end with Raw.icp and all icons show as documents except the one I need. "Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L USM) - RAW.lcp" it's icon shows as a exec file and that's the one that doesn't show in my profiles dialog.
How can I correct this file to the proper file type?
Thanks, I'm lost on this one.
    Greg
    Camera is Canon 5D

Thanks, that sounded like a good idea and it got me thinking. Why not trash the profile and import it from another computer. Doing that I found that the file sepraratly downloaded on another computer has the same problem so I can't move it over. The other computer is OS 10.5 Leopard whereas mine is 10.6 Snow Leopard. This leads me to believe that this is an Adobe issue.
Would any other Mac LR3 users please go to Library>Application Support>Adobe>Camera Raw>Lens Profiles>1.0>Canon and see if there is an "exec icon" next to the file named......  Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L USM) - RAW.lcp
I'd appreciate it and it will help isolate the problem.
    Thanks

  • Lens Profile Missing for Tiffs

The lens profile for the Nikon 28-300 is listed under Lens Corrections when using raw files. But if you import a Tiff or a PSD, it's not there (other lenses ARE there)
Any way to get that profile to show up when working with tiffs or psds?  thanks
    I'm using LR 4.1

Each lens profile is originally generated either from Raw or from non-Raw test shots. Accordingly, the profile is marked as suitable for correcting either Raw, or non-Raw pictures taken with that same lens on that same camera format. So it will either show up, or not, in the automatic lens profile detection of LR or of ACR depending on the type of file involved.
Generally speaking, only Raw specific profiles are made available for many lenses... because that is the principal demand. The usual case will be that lens correction has previously happened, from the original Raw data, as part of Lightroom's general processing that has gone into any TIFF created; hence, that TIFFs can be normally assumed not to be in need of such.
This separation of two kinds of lens profile is clearly necessary in some cases; for example where aberration correction will have been already applied by the camera, but to its JPG output only; and/or, where LR is doing some (possibly different) automatic lens correction "silently", for Raw - as with its support for some m43 systems.
However where this is not the case - where no prior correction is in question - a Raw-specific lens profile can be "kludged" so as to be perfectly usable with TIFF, JPG etc - which is far better than nothing.
The way to do this is to make a duplicate copy of the profile (.lcp) concerned - changing its filename slightly to suit. Then in a text editor, in this copy, change the line which refers to "CameraRawProfile" from True to False. That's it!
If there is some double correction going on, the option is also there to selectively disable profile-based correction of vignetting, or of geometric distortion, or else to disable CA removal, as appropriate - and to then save that option into a preset or as your LR processing default.

  • ACR 6.1 Lens Profile missing for Raw

My D90 18-105 Lens Profile shows up with jpg's in ACR, but not with RAW files.  Both 12 bit dng and 8 bit files show up in PS CS5 with the D90 18-105 profile.
How do I get the D90 Lens profile to show up in ACR 6.1 for raw files?
    Thanks

  • Tamron lens profile missing

I have just installed LR5 on Windows 8. I cannot find the lens profile for Tamron 27-40. Any ideas? I had this available with LR5 on Windows 7.

What lens are you looking for?  I don’t think there is a 27-40mm.  Do you mean a 24-70 or 17-40?   And what are the rest of the lens model specifications:  max aperture, stabilization, optical quality, etc.

  • Lightroom Lens Profile issue ...

I know that my particular Tamron lens (SP 70-300 Di USD) is supported in ACR.  Why, when in Developer, when I select Lens Corrections and select Tamron does it default to the wrong model, specifically to Tamron SP Di 28-75?

Thank you Victoria, that was very helpful.  I am new LR user and learning.  The more I get to know about the program the more I like it and the more I am motivated and impatient to learn functionality.  This one turned out to be pretty basic; I was editing jpegs.  With jpegs, in Develop all the Tamron ( et al) lens profiles are not available.  When I switched to raw, they were all there and - yes - I can save them.

  • Pentax lens profiles missing in lightroom 5

They are in Photoshop but not Lightroom. How do I get/activate them?
    Thanks,
    Cameron

I’m seeing the same number of Pentax profiles in LR 5.7 as I do in ACR 8.7.       Without knowing what camera you’re trying to find profiles for it’s hard to guess what might be wrong, other than you need to be viewing a raw file not a JPG.

  • Lens profiles missing in LR5 ?

    Folks,
I generally only use Canon lenses and have found that most are already installed in LR4 without me having to do anything...
I just upgraded to LR5 and there are only a small sample of the full list I used to have in 4
    How come they all vanished?
Can I copy them somehow between 4 and 5 ?
    Thanks in advance
    Martin

    I generally shoot RAW...
However in this case, I had popped out into Photoshop and converted to Tif hence PISNIC.....

    Thanks

  • Why the lens profile list can't show ALL lens profiles items from "LensProfiles 1.0" folder?

When I add a new lens profile - Samyang 14mm f2.8 - .lcp file into the "LensProfiles > 1.0" folder, I appear there are many lens profile items can't show in the Lightroom lens profiles list.
Please tell me how can I add these items into the LR lens profiles list........... thanks!!!

Sorry my bad, should have put.
Your custom Camera Raw & Lens Profiles should be installed to the User folders…
Lightroom 5 no longer uses the shared ProgramData (Windows) / Application Support (Mac) folders for Camera or Lens Profiles. Instead, it stores the built-in profiles with its program files.
When you create camera or lens profiles, they must be stored in the user locations listed below. If you previously stored custom profiles in other locations, you’ll need to move them to these user folders, otherwise Lightroom won’t be able to find them.
    Windows—C: \ Users \ [your username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ CameraRaw \ CameraProfiles \
    Mac—Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / CameraProfiles /
For the lens profiles, substitute the LensProfiles folder for the CameraProfiles folder.
The camera and lens profile file extensions are:
.dcpr—camera profile recipe file used for creating/editing a profile in the DNG Profile Editor
    .dcp—camera profile
    .lcp—lens profile

  • How to download lens profile for Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS to Lightroom 5.7?

How to download lens profile for Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS to Lightroom 5.7?
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
In the list, on web-page I can find this lenses (Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS), but I can't download it, because Adobe Lens Profile Downloader doesn't see this lenses.
Now in my Lightroom 5.7 I have only (for RAW images):
    * Samsung 16mm f/2.4 i-Function
    Samsung 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 OIS
    * Samsung 20mm f/2.8 i-Function
    Samsung 30mm f/2
    Samsung 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED OIS
    * Samsung 60mm f/2.8 Macro ED OIS SSA
    Samsung EX1
    Samsung WB2000 / TL350
    * - downloaded from Adobe Lens Profile Downloader
How to download profile for Samsung 16-50 mm F3.5-3.6 Power Zoom ED OIS ?

    Thank you for your analysis.
    In conclusion:
    - JPG images are corrected in camera
    - SRW images have built profile
    - the information in the list https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html
is little misleading because suggests there is a profile for Samsung 16-50 lenses
I tried to make a 3 profiles in a Adobe Lens Profile Creator 1.0.4 for 16mm, 26mm and 50mm (but it was very amateur work, so I don't guarantee the quality)
    Here is a result:
    before correction (16mm):

  • Removing Photoshop Elements 9 caused missing lens profiles in Lightroom 3.3

After my trial on Photoshop Elements 9 expired I removed it from my Windows Vista system.  The next time I started Lightroom 3.3 I tried to apply a Canon lens profile to some new images and the profile was missing, not only was it not on the list, none of the 862 images taken with this lens had the profile applyed to them anymore.  I tried to repair the installation and it failed saying I was missing components.  I then tried to upgrade to RC 3.4 & it failed with the same message.  I finally thought it might have been caused by the removal of Photoshop Elements so I went to the restore point that it did prior to removal.  Now I have the lens profile back that was missing the Canon EF28-135mm profile as well as to the other 862 images.  My question is should there be anything else I should look for to see if it is missing or damaged?  Thanks - Larry

    Larry,
The common part between LR and PSE is the Camera Raw part (ACR). It's settings are contained in 2 different locations:
    1) General ACR configuration files:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw
This directory contains lens and camera profiles installed with LR
    2) User related configuration files:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw
    This directory usually contains:
    Downloaded/created lens profiles
ACR defaults (like ACR cache size, any defaults set in LR)
    Downloaded/created camera profiles
You might want to check the content of those 2 locations. One other alternative would be to uninstall and re-install LR, which should take care of the factory supplied profiles.
