Samsung ativ s windows phone

Hi, I am using Skype for years. I used my skype on my Samsung Ativ S phone for the last 2 years. Yesterday suddenly it stopped working. I am trying to reinstall but get always an error message: There has been a problem completing your request. Try again later. This error code may be helpful: 80073cf6 What is the problem? How can I solve it? Thanks

I solved the problem in a scientific, technological way... I turned my phone off, took the battery out and restarted all. It works again.

Personal rant, why do people write the entire problem in topic line
It's not possible with Windows Phone 8.  What's the point, a call is coming in and the phone allows you to answer.

  • Windows 8.1 on Samsung ATIV-SE

I am absolutely disgraced with Verizon Wireless. I just bought a new Windows Phone Samsung ATIV-SE. I assumed it would have the latest Operating System. I guess that is what Verizon counts on. Of course no one can even tell us when it will be available. Samsung and Microsoft support it. What's the deal? Roll it out already. I have five phones with VWZ and the other four are being switched out as soon as the contracts are up. VWZ should be ashamed of themselves.

People want usable, actionable advice.  My advice is: Get the cheapest wifi hotspot or tetherable phone you can get and carry around a Windows tablet.  As an IT professional, I see a trend for the USA to be behind other countries in technology in the name of "security".  We need to get used to the "brave new world" of available smart phones being behind the technology curve and find the best workaround as the new normal.  Smartphones will never be "in-synch" with the "one OS, many devices" model.  Expect the WP 8.1 rollout for your ATIV SE about the same time Windows 10 is released.
The rest of the world doesn't jump down on their carriers throat about things going wrong with their devices overseas just because we sign a 2 year agreement for our devices(other countries have contracts too).  I bet you being a software Engineer would understand... If you are getting blamed for things out of your control you'd want to test some things on your own correct?
Maybe we should move to a pay to play model.  If you want to update you pay for it.  Don't blame anyone else but the device manufacturer if things go wrong?  Maybe things will be updated faster.  I still believe manufacturers delay updates on their own because they have little incentive.  Now with them actually getting paid to update their devices maybe they'll work faster...  HTC and Motorola going transparent with their update process and taking ownership has shown... They can update on Verizon very quickly...  They also go on record saying they'll update their devices within 90 days from OS release.  The ones that don't take ownership and say "We already gave it to them" are the ones being delayed.  Something doesn't seem right to me?  Does it to you?

  • Windows Upgrade for Samsung ATIV SE

Wondering when Windows 8.1 will be available for the Samsung ATIV SE?

    To Verizon Wireless:
Please help us.  If it isn't apparent, your customers are becoming increasingly upset that we haven't been even remotely engaged with any information about the Windows 8.1 update (soon to be 8.1 update 1).  Many people, like my wife and I (yes, we each have one), bought this phone on good faith when one of your sales staff told us that the phone(s) would receive the 8.1 update as soon as it was officially released.  If I recall correctly, it was something to the effect that the phone shipped with Windows 8 to get the product in the hands of the consumer but that 8.1 was already tested and ready for "immediate" release.  This approach would apparently get 8.1 out way faster because it was quicker to push the update over the air than it would be to wait until the official release date and then ship with 8.1 from the factory.  Reading the boards, I have a pretty strong feeling that I'm not the only one who got this information for more than one model of handset.  To make matters worse, when asked for information you try to placate the masses with an update link (go ahead, click Pamela's response to DeeCT) that doesn't even apply to the specific piece of hardware.  If you're going to string us along at least please don't do it with the Samsung Odyssey... why not go all in and link it to the Galaxy S5 or a Blackberry or something?  Otherwise, you could simply admit that you told us what we wanted to hear until you got us to to sign.  This is the same move that Buffalo Bill pulls in "The Silence of the Lambs" when he tricks the girl into the back of his van.  The best part is that everyone else saw it coming: "Probably not a good idea... this sounds shady... his arm isn't broken... why are you getting in the van?  Idiot!"  Unfortunately, I'm a loyal, long-time customer with few previous issues and took you at your word.  I should have done more research into Verizon's reputation for timely updates and general concern for existing customers before I pulled the trigger.  Well played.  I get to put the lotion on my skin for the next 2 years.  Well played.
I apologize for my frustration and bitterness, but I am tired of getting punched square in the groin every time my wife sees the Windows 8.1 "Siri vs. Cortana" commercial, as she reminds me how I convinced her against the iPhone.
That being said, on a positive note, my main gripe isn't with the phone.  It's a good piece of hardware and works very well.  I just didn't buy it for Windows 8.
Please just tell something... anything.  If the phone wasn't successful enough to merit the update just tell us.  If it's going to take more time then give us a better estimate than "we have no info".  I understand that you have no obligation to provide the update and that the product shipped in working order with the "advertised" operating system, but you should understand that when your sales staff promises an immediate service and you fail to address your customers' concerns... you risk losing those customers.
So, throw me a bone.  I just want to know if I get to hear about it during every commercial break for the next two years.  Especially when the iPhone 6 comes out.  That will be fun... I'm looking forward to that.

  • So Far... Disappointed in Windows Phone 8 offerings

I was really excited about getting both my son, and I, new Windows 8 phones to offset the new iPhone 5's my wife and daughter just received.
I was particularly looking forward to the rumored Samsung ATIV S as it has everything I was looking for. Screen size, storage, power and an awesome look and feel that is light years beyond what we currently have.
But now as more information trickles in about Verizon's decision to off a variant of the ATIV named Odessy, while little is yet known about this variant it is commonly being described as a 2nd tier phone, it looks like Verizon is determinined to keep the Windows phones a step or two behind its other OS offerings.
As a developer I need a high end phone, with the most current technology, for development/testing and day to day usage that Verizon seems unwilling to offer, and that justifies the $350/month I spend with Verizon.
I hope early reports about the Odessy are wrong, but given Verizons track record... I am not optimistic.

I was hoping that the Lumia 920 would  be available at WP8 launch. Yes, I am disappointed but I am unwilling to wait another six months or switch to another carrier. Verizon offers the best service in my area. Besides, the HTC 8X looks like a great device and may even be superior to the 920 in some ways. I've owned HTC phones for Windows Mobile and I have a Trophy now. The TouchPro 2, in my opinion, was at it's time one of the best smartphones ever made in terms of features. The keyboard was spectacular. The Trophy has been a very reliable offering that has been a pleasure to use.
Don't count out HTC! It's going to be 8X for me.

  • Cannot Register Phone - Error Logging into the Windows Phone Dev Center

I cannot register my phone using the Windows Phone Developer Registration tool running in Windows 8.1. The phone is a Samsung Ativ S.
I've confirmed that I can log into dev.windowsphone.com on the machine. I've tried setting up the credentials with Credentials Manager (using dev.windowsphone.com as the url). I've confirmed that IpOverUsbSvc is running. I've confirmed that the phone is
visible in the file manager (and even browsed files to make sure). I've unlocked the phone's lock screen. I've gone the Accounts page in the dev centre to confirm that my account is active.
It seems the problem isn't with the credentials I use because, if I purposely enter incorrect credentials, I don't even get past the Microsoft Account Sign In window - the error message I am getting happens after that sign-in window right in the Windows
    Phone Developer Registration window.

This thread is a little old, but not too old.  My Nokia Lumia 920 that used to be registered isn't connecting since the 8.1 update (latest update today).  I've tried wiping out my list of phones in my account on the dashboard, that didn't make
a difference.  IpOverUsbSvc is running, has been re-started alone, and has been re-started through a power-cycle.  I can browse files on my phone from my Windows 8.1 laptop.  When I disconnect / reconnect my the USB cable to my phone, the Device
Phone Registration screen shows an automatic retry.  So far in all cases, I'm getting:
Some additional information based on more searches and some thinking:
Windows Media Player is installed and can access the Lumia
I can't see any event log messages associated with the failure to connect
Although it seems associated with Windows Phone 8.1, I can't say for sure that's true, since I hadn't tried connecting while it was running Windows Phone 8.0 in awhile.

  • Where is 8.1 for Samsung ATIV SE!! This is getting totally ridiculous!  At least an answer would be nice, an estimate, anything!!

When is this update going to be released? Have my phone since ?June and still no 8.1. What is going on? Why does ATT have 8.1 for all their windows phones? Getting ready to take my phones to another carrier.

Be careful what you wish for. I have a Samsung ATIV SE II, which I've been really happy with. I was offered the 8.1 upgrade tonight and let it download, and now this is only able to be used for phone calls and texts. None of my 5 email accounts work. I can't open any apps at all. Most of my tiles on the home screen are now just gray squares. My gmail accounts all say "Attention required", but I can't access them. I deleted one and attempted to recreate it, but when I click the Add Account + sign, nothing happens. My Outlook account tile shows new messages are arriving, but I can't open it to read them. Every app I select just takes me back to the home screen. I'm now forced to do a factory reset just so I can use it again. Who the heck tested this?

  • Review Samsung ATIV SE

I have the Samsung ATIV SE switching from an LG Android to Windows.  Really like this Windows Phone.  I can pin often used numbers to the Desktop and have on the Main Screen all applications that I often use.
The problem I have with the Samsung Phone is not Windows it's the hardware.  The Volume Button on the left of the cell phone is in the wrong position.  When picking up the phone I often accidently lower the volume without realizing this.  I receive calls but do not hear them because the volume is off or too low. This is my main complaint about the hardware.  Another item I'd like to see changed is the Power/Lock button which is to the right of the phone across from the Volume Button which is held too while picking up phone.  My previous LG phone had this button on the top which was nice but I can live with this button on the right.  Phone does not shut off that easily.

You're with Verizon and you are thinking of getting a Samsung ATIV SE? Don't!!  Verizon's track record for upgrades is not the best.  Their track record for doing Windows updates and upgrades is horrible.  Why do  an upgrade when you can go out and buy their next "Great" Windows phone with 8.1 already installed.  The Samsung ATIV SE is a good phone and has served me well for the last 5 months.  I have however given up on Verizon putting out the 8.1 update .  It ain't going to happen.  I think Verizon is doing Window phone users a great disservice by not following through and putting out the update.
Oh Please Verizon surprise me and put  out the update.  Restore my faith in Verizon.

  • Is Cisco VPN posible for Windows Phone 8.1

    Hello,
Microsoft released Windows Phone 8.1 on April and it supports VPN connections.
So I would like to ask:
Is Cisco going to release Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client for Windows Phone 8.1?
Maybe someone managed to make clientless connection with ASA 9.1( for example IKEv2 or SSL-VPN) ?
Or should I abandon idea of connecting WP 8.1 with ASA?
    Thanks.

    Hi  aurimas88 ,
Looks like AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 2.5  is supported for windows phone , however W 8.1 mobile has not been tested by Cisco , We cannot guarantee compatibility.
AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 3.0 Windows Mobile Devices Not Supported
AnyConnect version 3.0 and later do not support Microsoft Windows Mobile or Windows Phone. However, you can continue to use the ASA to deploy the AnyConnect 2.5 or earlier client for Windows Mobile even after loading the AnyConnect 3.0 package files to the ASA for web deployment.
AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 2.5 Windows Mobile Devices Supported
We designed AnyConnect 2.5 for compatibility with Windows Mobile 6.5, 6.1, 6.0 and 5.0 Professional and Classic for touch-screens only. Users have reported success with most touch-screens running these versions of Windows Mobile. However, to ensure interoperability, we guarantee compatibility only with the devices we test, as follows:
HTC Imagio running Windows Mobile 6.5
HTC Tilt 2 running Windows Mobile 6.5
HTC Touch running Windows Mobile 6.0
HTC TyTN running Windows Mobile 5.0
Samsung Epix running Windows Mobile 6.1
Samsung Omnia Pro 4 running Windows Mobile 6.5
Samsung Omnia running Windows Mobile 6.1
Samsung Saga running Windows Mobile 6.1

  • Windows Intune support deployment for windows phone (8.1) *.appx files

    Hi
We are trying to deploy a windows phone 8.1 appx file with intune (over sccm console). the appx file is signed with a valid symantec certificate.
the installation of the app fails, either when we upload the file as "Required" (so pushing it automatically to the devices) or when we make the app on the company portal app available.
in the sccm console the deployment status says failed -> unkonwn error.
when we use .xap file of an windows 8.0 app, it works like a charm and the xap file is signed with the same certificate.
My question is, is there no support for publishing windows phone 8.1 appx files on Intune? Or what can it be?
    Thanks for any hints
