Samsung blu ray hook-up

I guess i'm like a couple of people who are not getting the picture quality at home that we experience in the stores.  I would like to know the best way to hook up my Samsung blu ray player to my Samsung hd tv?  Just use the HDMI cable?  I also have the audio/video cables hooked up. Are the 2 cancelling themselves out?  It's also hooked into my surround sound system.  the sound quality is awesome but for some reason i'm just not getting the picture quality I wanted.  any suggestions?  Am I missing something?

Use just the HDMI cable.  Take the Red/White/Yellow off.
Connect the HDMI to your receiver, and then the recevier to the TV.
If you have no HDMI connection at the receiver, connect the HDMI to your tv, and a toslink/digital cable from your Blu Ray to the receiver.

  • Samsung Blu Ray difficulties

Hey all- brand new to the forum. We just got a new Samsung blu ray last night, and I'm not sure if it's my stuffy head (woke up with a nasty cold) or the player, but I'm having a hard time with it. Got it all hooked up (hubby's a computer pro and really great at that stuff), and got all synched with online accounts, except 1- you tube. I downloaded the app for it onto the player (silly me, I thought when the box said it had you tube, that it had it on there already). But I can't seem to find the login screen/section. Plus, I'm not sure if it's going to work with out old analog television. Or if my (not quite 40 years old yet) eyes are the problem, but it certainly seems squished and fuzzy.
Any help, whatsoever, would be appreciated! I'm usually the one who figures these things out, then tell the others in my house how to do it- guess because I'm "mom".
    Have a great day!

Not sure about the youtube problem, but for the "squished" problem. Grab the TVs remote control and it should have a "aspect" or "zoom" button. Press that and it may correct the aspet ratio. The Samsung blu-ray players have their own settings for the aspect ratio, but usually the default settings are the correct ones.

  • My samsung Blu Ray player won't work on my LG tv

For some reason when I hook up my samsung Blu Ray player to my LG tv with the HDMI cable it will not work. I've tried it on other brands and it works fine. Any ideas?

    Hello mdeis909,
If your Samsung Blu-Ray Player works with other brands and TVs, it could mean that the HDMI port on your LG television is no longer working. If your LG TV has another HDMI port readily available, I'd suggest trying it to see if the issue is limited to one specific port.
    I hope this helps,

  • Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player model BD-P4600

I just bought a Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player model BD-P4600. I was told by the store salesperson that it would work with my Mac on my home wireless network.
I set everything up as directed and cannot get it to join my network. I even went online and looked for information from others who had successfully connected to their home Mac system, however it did not seem to work for me.
I have a brand new Apple iMac running Mac OS version 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). For my home network, I am using a Comcast cable modem connected to a Linksys Cisco WRT160N wireless N router. I am able to access all 3 home Mac computers, an Xbox 360 and an HP printer through the wireless network, but cannot connect the Blu-Ray player.
The message I receive says "No shared PCs were found."
I am usually pretty good with computer equipment, but I cannot get the Blu-Ray player to recognize the network. I even tried to connect directly to the router via ethernet cable with no luck.
Any thoughts on how I can get this to work?

You might also try turning off the wireless on your laptop and connecting it to the ethernet cable that is going to the DVD player. If you can connect to the internet, you know that you have a good ethernet cable and the port on the router is operational.
If you can't connect using your laptop, it's either a bad cable or connection, or you may have possibly setup Access Control on your router to only allow specified devices to connect on the basis of their MAC address.

  • Connecting samsung blue ray to OLD wireless D-Link Router

  • Samsung blue ray player

I just bought a new blue ray player but I have an old analog tv I want to watch netflix on my tv Can I do this?

    Jimmienomam wrote:
Umm there are plenty Samsung blu ray players that have composite and component outputs. Both of which are analog.
Also if they only have RF then they can use an RF converter which is dead cheap at certain places.
Plenty? Can you grace us with a model number since you are in the know? Not that it really matters since the OP has already made his purchase. A part number from him would also be good. The top of the line model does have analog output but that is audio only for 7.1.
As far as HDMI to RF, I haven't heard of that so can you provide a part number for that too?
But why do this? Spend more for the player, more for the media only to downcovert the content? Do you think the quality of the movie will be better than from a regular DVD player?
The only reason I would consider that is if I was about to buy a digital TV and wanted the media I buy now to be the best in the near future.
And it doesn't appear that BB caries the mysterious players you mention and certainly don't carry the fabled HDMI to RF modulator. So, if he has to return the player to go and buy something else and also buy a modulator then how is that better than just getting a DVD player.
It's good that you are aware of a general solution but to help the OP out can you share some part numbers?

  • Stream from IMac to Samsung Blu Ray?

Is it possible to watch movies on my Samsung Blu Ray from my IMac?
If so, what is the easiest way to do it?

I just bought the MediaLink app to stream video from my iMac to PS3 but I have no idea how to set it up. How did you do it? The website doesn't have directions or anything. Please Help.

  • Can you stream music and video to Samsung blu-ray players?

    Hi
I'm thinking of buying a Samsung blu-ray player with wireless connectivity. They have the Allshare feature so you can stream music and video content from your desktop to the player. I have read that it does not work with Mac - is that the case? Does anyone have experience of this?
My wireless modem is one provided to me by O2 not an Airport Extreme
I was thinking of getting the BD-C6500

What does this device stream in?

  • I created a iMovie with photos, music and titles; shared it with the media browser and burned it on a DVD RDL. The disc will play on my MacBook Pro, but it will not play on my Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player or a smaller portable DVD player. Why?

I created an iMovie with photos, music and titles; shared it with the media browser and burned it on a DV+RDL. The disc will play on my MacBook Pro, but it will not play on my Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player or a smaller portable DVD player. Why?

Probably because they don't accept that media.
Try using Verbatim DVD+DL (if your project exceeds 2 hours) or Verbatim DVD-R if it doesn't.

  • Keyboard for Samsung Blu Ray Player

I purchased a Samsung Blu Ray Player (Model: BD-F5900) from Best Buy as a Christmas gift for my daughter and I also purchased Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard/Mouse to use with it for accessing the internet, but when she tried to use it, it asked her to enter the operating system of the Blu Ray Player.  Can anyone tell me if you can use this keyboard with the player and if yes, how?
If not, would someone please recommend a compatible keyboard?
Thanks for any help you can give.

  • Samsung Blu-Ray player, Airport Extreme network, and streaming Netflix

I am very frustrated. Can you help? My husband just purchased a Samsung Blu-Ray BD-P3600 player and TV. I have read all of the forums on trying to connect this to an Airport Extreme network. After several days of trying different options, I still can not get the Blu-Ray player to connect to my network and be able to stream Netflix. The only way that I have gotten close is through the wireless connection devise and putting in the IP address etc. When doing a network test, if checks the MAC Address and the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Server. It then pauses for a long time and tells me that the Gateway Ping won't work. It says, "Your network cannot operate properly." I have not had any trouble connecting any computers or printers to the network. Why can I not get this to work? Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I know just enough to be dangerous. Thank you!

Hi - I found this on CNET but not a techie so not sure if this will work - I have Airport Extreme & just bought 2 Samsung Blu-Ray BD-P3600 players to use w/NetFlix and have called Samsung tech support 3 times w/no luck - the last time the technician said that Apple/Samsung WIFI not compatible - I have a 13 character pswd so that my roommate who has a PC can connect - we don't have any problems with any other connections to Airport Extreme -
Post today from CNET discussion on same topic:

found this about setting up a psp with airport should help:
"Apple does not mandate that your WEP password is the correct length. In the real world of WEP (non Apple devices) they actually require that your WEP key is a specified length dependent on the bit level of encryption. If you are using HEX or ASCII encoding these passwords can get as high as 26 to 40 characters long. Yea, thats a long pass code! Your Mac sitting in your house doesn't care about all that mumbo jumbo. You can put any old password in the AirPort Admin utility and it will take it.
I learned over at Gaming-Age that I could get away with a 13 character WEP Key. You should, however, stick with 128 bit WEP as this is better protection, and works well with the PSP (I run my AirPort Express in 802.11b/g Compatible Mode). Once you set your WEP key and update your AirPort you can setup your PSP. Now just setup your PSP for Wi-Fi Infrastructure mode"
    and this:
The trick is that to use the hexadecimal key with an Apple AirPort Card, you must enter a dollar-sign before the hex number, like
    $1E2B3C4FAA

  • Connecting Samsung Blu-Ray to internet

I am trying to connect to internet/netflix and I have no clue how to do it.  My internet is in another room so running a cable isnt an option.
    I have a Samsung Blu-Ray BD-P1500
    I bought a wireless N broadband router Linksys WRT160N
I am at a loss of what I need to do. In searching "how to" on google I found ideas like I need an "ethernet bridge"  then read that I dont because I have a wireless adapter already in the samsung.  I tried to follow the user manual that didnt work.  I tried putting in the IP address from our spare computer, that didnt work.  Any suggestions?  I am a novice so basic info would be helpfull.
      Thank you,

The BD-P1600 doesn't have built-in wireless.  You will need to buy the samsung wireless dongle ($80) at Best Buy.  You will also need a router which it sounds like you already have.  Once your network is setup, search for a wireless network on the Blu-ray player and it should find your network (this is assuming you have the samsung dongle plugged in).  Once to connect to it, you should be in business.

  • E4200 Connection issues with two Samsung Blu-ray players at a time

    Hi everybody,
    Sorry about my English,
I have E4200 V1 router, it is working fine, and I am connecting different type of devices with it like desktop computer, laptop, iphone, printer and two Samsung 3d smart Blu-ray players. Everything is working fine. I have charter cable internet.
But the problem is this: when I play movies via Netflix on both Samsung Blu-ray players (one player is in my family room and second player is in up stare bedroom) one player stopped playing movie and disconnected from the wireless network and message shows (check your wireless network).
When I stopped/turn OFF the second Blu-ray player, then the first one got connected with network and start playing movies.
I can’t run both Blu-ray players at the same time on this E4200. When I was playing both players at that time all the other devices I mentioned above was connected with the same network but were not performing any task, those were in sleeping mode.
I also changed the QoS, Quality of Service setting to high priority using MAC address for both players, but it is still not playing both Blu-ray players at the same time. Just one plays the movies at a time.
Any idea or help to solve this issue, I would really appreciate that.
    Thanks,

Hi, chzsoona. Have you tried changing the channel of your wireless channel? You may try channels 1, 6, 9, 11. If you have a version 1 router, check your firmware version it should be 1.0.05. If you have version 2 router then you may upgrade it then use Linksys Smart WiFi so you can take advantage of the Media Prioritization. To know more about your router you may use this link: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&docid=7824947fe4444ac3ad5cc...

  • Connecting E3000 wirelessly to Samsung Blu Ray

I get a great wired connection but when I try for wireless the Samsung says I have a great connection, except when I try to use the Apps from the Blu Ray it tells me, No Internect Conncetion.  Samusung support tells me I need to "open the ports" on my E3000 and make the Blu Ray a priority...I don't know how to do that.  Please help.

Let me know how did you install the Router – means was configured with the help of the Cisco Connect Software or did manual configuration? The concern that you have for that you have to do the following settings…
If you have configured the Router with the help of the Cisco Connect Software then you have to open that up in which you have installed… There you will be able to see 4 small window screens…
You have to click on “Router setting” window…Then click on “Advanced settings” button… That will open the Router Setup page… Then click on “Applications & Gaming “tab and then click on Port Range Forwarding… Then in that provide the Application Name, port numbers that you have and the IP address of the Blu-Ray player and then enable it… Once after providing all the information click on save settings….
If you did configure the Router manually then open up the browser and on the address bar you have to type “IP address of the Router” that will open up the Router setup page… From there you have to do the same steps as above…
Then check the connectivity for the Samsung Blu Ray...
