Samsung Blueray C5500 won't connect to my E2000 using Samsung wireless LAN (WIS09ABGN)

After dealing with Samsung tech support I was able to get the blueray to connect to internet with a wired ethernet connection, but it won't work with a wireless connection.  Per tech support I need to open ports 80, 443 and 8080 on my router.  I browsed this sight but I'm still not sure how I open those ports.  One message showed a way but it also said I need to get the IP address of the bluray, but that's confusing??  Do I need the IP of the Samsung Link Stick?  Where do I find that?  How do I open ports?
Thanks

Open the setup page of the router. Go to Applications and gaming tab. Click on Port triggering sub tab.
In application name type ABC. In start and end port type the port number 80. Again in  start and end port box type 80. Check the box enabled.
In seconds application type DEF, In start and end port type 443. Check the box enable.
In this way you can try to open the ports on the router.
If that doesn't work then you will need to use port forwarding. In this case you will need to check the IP address of Blu ray. I think if you go network settings of Blu ray, you will find the IP address of the device.

  • My ATV gen 2 won't connect to the internet over a wireless BT home hub 5 network

My ATV gen 2 won't connect to the internet over a wireless BT home hub 5 network. I've recently upgraded to a BT HH5 and now I cannot airplay with my 2011-MBP, and the ATV will not connect to the iTunes store or software update.

Ok, thanks (not sure I know what you mean!). I have seen a solution that tells me to rename the two SSID's? Is that what you mean? All my devices are wireless, and all can connect to the internet except the Apple TV. Now I have disabled the 5GHz channel all devices are on the 2.4GHz channel and all work fine, including the Apple TV and airplay between my MBP and ATV.

    Hi
We have just brought a new Samsung smart tv (UE40ES6710) however we can't get it to connect wirelessly to the Internet. We are using the BT home hub can anyway shed any light on this??
We have contacted BT who have told us that there is nothing wrong with our broadband connection and we don't have any problem connecting our iPad and iPhones. It's just the TV that won't connect.

  • Ipod Touch Won't Connect to Internet Since Using Airport Home Network

I searched the site, but can't find anything that helps (or that I can really understand). I previously had no problems with my Ipod Touch using my home internet via wi-fi. Ever since I upgraded to the newest airport, my ipod won't connect, and I've tried just about everything, but nothing works.
I also have an old PC Laptop that used to connect, but it won't connect to the internet either since I got the new airport.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

  • New iPad won't connect to Mobile Hotspot using WPA or WPA2

I have a new iPad running iOS 6.01.  It connects to wifi networks perfectly.  I also own a Blackberry 9790 that is capable of running a wifi hotspot.  When I try to connect my iPad to the mobile hotspot when WPA or WPA2 Encryption is used the iPad cannot connect.  If I change the Encrypstion to WEP I am able to connect the iPad and wifi works on it.
Is there a reason the new iPad won't connect to a mobile hotspot that's using WPA/WPA2?  Is there a way to resolve this issue?
I am able to connect my MacBook Pro to the mobile hotspot using WPA/WPA2 so I know that it's not my phone or the hotspot not working properly.
    Thanks

It appears as though I fixed my own problem...I hadn't yet tried restarting my blackberry or my iPad since I had been trying to setup the mobile hotspot and connect the iPad.  Anyways, I restarted both devices and then tried connecting using WPA/WPA2 and it worked.
iPad is now connecting to my mobile hotspot using WPA/WPA2 with no problems.
Maybe try doing the same if you haven't.

  • Samsung Note 2 won't connect.

Hi guys, I am trying to connect a Samsung Note 2 to my Macbook Air and the device is not recognised.  I have installed Android File Transfer and it still won't work.  Any ideas?

JTJACKS, let's get you connected to WiFi. I recommend that you power cycle your phone off/on to soft reset it. Additionally, you will also need to verify that you've entered the correct WiFi password for the device in your house. Keep us posted.

  • Samsung galaxy tab2 won't connect to my hub

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows how they get there hub to allow a samsung galaxy tab2 to access the wifi. All I keep getting is that it finds the hub, I then enter my password when prompted. The tablet then shows as authenticating, then save and secured appears under hub name, but within seconds keeps reverting back to authenticating and then back to saved and secured.
There's nothing wrong with the tablet's wifi as I took it back to the shop and it connected with their wifi immediately. I have windows nokia smartphone and that works fine. I've tried a suggested solution of manually connecting but still no sucess.
One person suggested accessing my router and entering the mac address of the tablet but I have no idea how to access my router. Please help if you can as my money is looking to have been wasted at the moment.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Try going into your phones wifi settings. Select your Homehub and click and hold on it. This should bring up an option to forget the network. Select this option. Once done, turn off the phone then restart it. Go into the wifi settings again and scan for networks. Locate your Homehub, making sure it is your homehub and not a neighbours, and select it. Enter the wireless passkey found on the rear of your Homehub. (see link). All being well it should connect.

If this doesn't help then do a factory reset of the Homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds then try the above again. The factory reset sorts out any configuration problems in the hub.

  • Samsung Galaxy S5 Won't Connect to WiFi

I recently switched from a Samsung Galaxy S3 to an S5 and my fiancee switched from an iPhone 4S to an S5. We've always been able to connect wonderfully to our WiFi from both the S3 and 4S (and still can), but every time we try to connect to the WiFi from our S5's, it'll try for a bit saying "obtaining IP Address" then after about a minute it will pop up with an error message that says "Attention: AP currently not in use. Internet connection slow." And gives the options to "Cancel", "Retry", or "Forget."
The password is correct (I have retyped it MANY times), the signal strength is strong, and the WiFi works PERFECTLY with my Galaxy S3, her iPhone 4S, and my laptop.
I thought that maybe it was just something to do with the S5's at first, BUT when my fiance's upgrade date came around, she first chose an HTC One M8 and it would not connect to the WiFi either. She switched to the S5 a few days later.
Any help on this subject would be GREATLY appreciated as we've been having this problem for some time now only to get answers from people like "you're typing in your password wrong" or "send the phones to Samsung for repairs." I do not believe it's solely the Galaxy S5's fault. There's got to be something else.
    Thanks!

        pman7373,
I understand your concerns.  We're here to assist.  It's certainly not Verizon Wireless's intentions for you're wifi to be malfunctioning on your Samsung device.  The next step we'd have you take is to restart the device in safe mode and test wifi.  You can view instructions here; http://vz.to/1B5LU1C.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.

  • IPad 1 won't connect to Comcast Xfinity TG862G/CT Wireless Gateway

    Hi all,
So I had my Comcast service set up a couple weekends ago (new employee, switching from FiOS).
The tech originally brought me a DOCSIS 2.0 eMTA and I attached my own separate Netgear WNR3500U Router, and connected without issue. Connected devices include:
    (2) iPhone 4's
    (2) MacBook Pro's
    (1) New iPad
    (1) iPad 1
    (1) WinXP Desktop PC
    (1) Blu-Ray Player
    (1) XBox 360
    (1) Nintendo 3DS
I've boldened the device that is about to have the issue.
Comcast has upgraded their High-Speed Internet (HSI) speeds in the Boston region now, so I was upgraded to an ARRIS TG862G/CT Wireless Gateway over the weekend.
Set up of the Gateway went very easy. Set up using WPA2-AES Security using a supplied 16-digit security key. All of the above devices connected at amazing speeds without any issue, until I got to the iPad 1.
When I select the Wireless Network, I get the swirling animation as if the iPad 1 is trying to connect to the network, but it just never connects. I've tried the following steps:
Complete factory reset of Wireless Gateway and restarted install & setup.
Complete factory reset of iPad 1, including upgrade to iOS 5.1.1(9B206).
Tried changing following settings on Wireless Gateway
Tried reducing security to WAP2, WEP, down to OPEN WiFi.
Tried changing WiFi channel from Automatic to Channel 1, 6 or 11.
Tried changing name of WiFi network from factory installed, to custom.
Tried manually adding iPad 1 to Connected Devices menu on TG862G/CT.
Connected iPad 1 to outside WiFi networks without issue. It works. Just not on this Gateway.
If I go back to the WiFi network I am trying to connect to, it even shows at times that it is picking up a valid IP address from the Gateway, but still no connection to the internet at all.
Overall I have tried everything I can think of to connect my iPad 1 and to this point, nothing has worked. I have contacted Apple to ensure working functionality of the device, which they confirmed my assumption: It's working 100%. I've also contacted Comcast to confirm working functionality of the Gateway, which is fine seeing as how I have no less than 5 other devices connecting to it without issue right now.
If anyone has any suggestions, outside of what I have already tried above, I would love for someone to help me solve this frustrating issue.

24 hours later, no replies. I'm assuming nobody has a solution at this point as I have talked Apple and Comcast's Xfinity Signature Support's ear off for the last 48 hours. I really dislike when electronics won't work as intended "just because". There's a reason, and someone knows.

  • IPhone 3G won't connect to D-Link DIR-655 Wireless N Router

My wife and I picked up iPhone 3Gs last week, and we got home and instantly had issues connecting to our home's Wi-Fi. I assumed at first it was an iPhone issue, but think it's likely more an issue with my router. The router is brand new (two months old). I have updated the firmware to the most current (version 1.11). Both iPhones apparently connect to the router (they show Wi-Fi bars and it shows full strength), however, when I attempt to access the iTunes store, I got an error that it fails to connect, that I need to be connected to via Wi-Fi to access. I've tried everything with the router I can think of (turning of wireless security, using only WPA vs. WPA2, and having a very simple password). With each setting, it shows the phone is connected, but iTunes says I'm not. I've successfully connected to 5 other wi-fi routers without issue. Some have similar settings to my home router. Other router models I've connected to include Linksys, Trendnet, and D-Link. However, none of those have been a N router. I set my DIR-655 to work only in the wireless b and g range only, reset networking on my phones, but still doesn't work. I just don't know if there's something I'm overlooking on the settings that might keep the devices from working properly together. Any thoughts.

If it works on other networks it is most likely a compatible issue with your router (as you have surmised). Do you have MAC filtering enabled on your router? If so, have you entered the MAC address of the phone (In Settings/General/About it is called WiFi Address).
When you are connected to your router go to Settings/WiFi and tap the arrow to the right of the network name. Look at the IP address of the phone. If its pattern is 169.254.x.y this means your router is not assigning an IP address to the phone. That is almost certainly a router issue.
Next look at the DNS address. Is it the same as the DNS address on your other computers? As an experiment try changing it to a public DNS address like the ones provided by OpenDNS (www.opendns.com), 208.67.222.222.

  • Shrew Soft VPN won't connect through 4G LTE - using Pantech UML290

    Hey everyone,
I'm using Shrew Soft VPN to connect to my companies network and can't seem to connect when using the 4G broadband. I have no issues using Ethernet/wifi but for some reason I can't establish a connection with using 4G.
I'm currently using the Pantech UML290 to connect to the 4G network. I tried to switch to 3G to see if there was some type of encryption causing the issue. That doesn't resolve it.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

I opened a case with Verizon and it seems the problem is on their end.  To get access to VPN again, you have to downgrade the VZAccess, downgrade the Firmware (that is "required") to an older version, and uninstall Verizon firmware updates in Add/Remove programs.  This is the email that VZ sent me:
Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless Data Technical Support department through our website. We are sorry to learn that you are unable to connect to your company's VPN when using your UML290 Modem. We are pleased to assist you.
We can certainly understand your frustration when your device does not work as expected. You should be able to connect to your company's VPN service when using the UML290. We will be providing you with steps to check your VZAccess Manager Software version.
After updating to MR2 (Maintenance Release 2) software, the UML290 may not be able to connect to some VPNs. The MR2 software was included in the VZAccess Manager build 7.6.3 (2642j). To check the current version that you are currently running on your computer, please complete the steps provided below:
    1. Launch VZAccess Manager
    2. Click Help
    3. Select About VZAccess Manager
If you are running VZAccess Manager 7.6.3 (2642j), please downgrade the software. To do so, please complete the steps provided below:
    1. Browse to http://www.vzam.net/download/download.aspx
    2. Select your Operating System
    3. Select the device you are using
    4. Select your hardware i.e. Pantech UML290
    5. Click Continue
    6. Click the Downgrade Utility link located under the Installation Instructions and/or Device Drivers
You should be able to use the steps provided above to downgrade the VZAccess Manager Software. Once this has been completed, you should be able to connect to your company's VPN when using the Pantech UML290.
Make sure you read the read_me.pdf doc packaged with the firmware downgrade utility.  There are some steps that are left out of this procedure that are in that doc.  Good luck to everyone.

  • Mac connects but PC won't connect to internet via TIme Capsule wireless net

I have my personal Mac and work PC at home. I'm switching from a wireless network using my airport extreme base station to a new time capsule. Had no problems earlier, but now with my new wireless network I have the following problem:
    - Both Mac and PC are able to connect to my home wireless network created through Time Capsule
    - Only Mac can access the internet via the Time Capsule wireless network
    - PC connects fine to the wireless network, but the settings indicate the internet cannot be accessed
I've tried fiddling with configurations etc. but cannot seem to get the PC to connect through to the internet using my Time Capsule.
The PC will connect directly to the net if I plug in the ethernet from my cable modem....What's the problem? Any ideas?

Welcome to the discussions forum AZR-DC.
The PC will connect directly to the net if I plug in the ethernet from my cable modem...
Make it a habit to power down your modem whenever you connect something different to it. Merely detaching the AEBS and attaching your Time Capsule or your computer directly will confuse most modems, so leave it powered down for a few moments. Power down your other equipment while you're at it.
Then, power up all the equipment as follows:
Modem... wait a few moments for it to complete its startup sequence.
Time Capsule. Wait a few moments again.
    Computers.
Be sure your PC and your Mac are getting their addresses "via DHCP".
