Just bought a skype camera attempts to log in via account = problems with external network. Otherwise internet TV works ok. I have place that Ip address in the the DMZ and still a problem ?

Okay. By checking the inbound and outbound rules in my firewall I found some rules associated with skype that was blocking it from connecting, by getting rid of it my skype is now connecting normally and working perfectly.

Skype Connection Issues

After the most recent updates, I've discovered an infuriating issue with Skype.
I am in two group chats, for weekly gaming with friends. In each of these, we've had little issue connecting and chatting with each other. However, after the most recent updates, we've noticed a problem. Some of us can join the call, and the rest of us only see the black bar at the top telling us a call exists. When we try to join, it immediately disconnects us and shows the call bar once more. We cannot join, no matter what, but can still chat with the rest of the group via PM. For some reason, this only seems to happen when USA players host the call. When our two friends in Australia host, there is no trouble at all.
What makes this even more infuriating is the fact that it happens sporadically. There seems to be no pattern to it.
YES, all of us have the most recent version. YES, all of us have stable internet. And YES, all of us have computers that can handle Skype. We've been able to handle it before the latest update.
I expect an answer from Skype as to why they're system is dying after this update.

My MacBook Air has recently started having substantial WiFi connectivity issues. How do I fix this?

For the last couple weeks my MacBook Air has started having some mighty substantial connectivity issues.
When I wake it from sleep, or if I'm using it for an extended period (say, more than 5-10 minutes), the connection will become extremely unreliable. This primarily happens with browsers, or the Twitter application. For example, if I start a call on Skype the call will continue to function just fine, but I won't be able to connect to any websites through any browser. I've tried Safari, Chrome, and Firefox while the connectivity problems are occuring. When they do occur, a full shut down and cold boot are required to make it work again for a short while.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? I've done numerous checks for malware using Clam Xav and Sophos Anti-Virus. (I didn't suspect that this would be the issue, but it was still something that I decided to rule out.) Additionally, I've tried connecting using both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands on my wireless router. Neither seems to be more successful than the other. (Note: The 5GHz works perfectly and without interruption on my iPad and desktop PC. The 2.4GHz works perfectly with my iPhone 4S and Xbox 360. I feel that with that in mind, I can safely rule out the router as the root of the problem. Both of these examples go on for very extended periods of time. I game regularly using both my PC and Xbox 360.)

Does your sound work when you try to use head/earphones? If so, try the following:
Plug your Headphones into your Mac.
Play a sound through them (a song for example), then stop the sound.
Make sure 'Preferences' is isn't open. If it is, Quit.
Launch System Preferences > Sounds.
While the Sounds tab is open and set to 'Headphones', pull out the Headphones from the jack.
You should see your Mac reset to 'Internal Speakers'
Also, I see you have tried resetting the PRAM, have you tried resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)? Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support
As for your MacBook not sleeping when you close the lid, there are many reasons this can occur.
First of all, check out Apples article on the issue: OS X Yosemite: If your Mac won’t go to or stay in sleep If you find these steps don't help, try a few of the following:
A common cause for the Mac not sleeping is your printer. If there are queued jobs waiting to be printed, but your printer is switched off, for some reason you Mac just wont like it and simply will not go to sleep. System Preferences > Print and Scan > Open Print Queue
Do you have an Ethernet Cable connected? People have reported in the past that removing their Ethernet allowed their Mac to sleep. This goes for other things you may have connected directly to your Mac also.
Try heading into your Mac Preferences > Sharing and deselecting 'Internet Sharing' as well as 'Printer Sharing'.
Also deselect Wake For Network Access by heading to System Preferences > Energy Saver > Power Adapter > Wake For Network Access.
Energy Saver > Schedule > Startup or Wake - Uncheck.
Alternatively, set your system preferences to Never Sleep, and put into Sleep manually: System Preferences > Energy Saver > Computer Sleep > Never.

How can I circumvent this connection issue due to closed-lid mode?

I recently purchased a new Samsung monitor and have narrowed down the deficient connectivity to the fact that the Wi-Fi antennae is located at the "MacBook Pro" area of my computer's monitor. I own a late 2009, 2.26 GHz MacBook Pro connected to a 2011 AirPort Extreme Base Station. Resetting the router and searching for the ideal channel still keeps my connection at a slow crawl when the lid is closed. I'm posting this question to see if there any developments in solvin this connection issue and whether or not there is anything I can do before purchasing an external antennae. Any and all help and greatly appreciated!

I've had the same problem, everything was o.k. when lid is open but when I connect it to external monitor and close the lid, wifi signal is very week or there was no signal at all. I tried moving macbook all over the room and nothing helped, untill I tried to open the lid just a little so that macbook monitor stays off, immediately my wifi signal was normal again, strong as it is when I'm using it whit lid open.

I currently have Photoshop CS5.1 on Windows 7 (64 bit) and it's now requesting I need to re-activate it, despite having already done this with a serial number when I installed it and even used the program numerous times.
I get a screen saying "Product activation is required" but every time I try to activate it, it says there was a connection issue and asks me to connect to the internet.
I've checked my firewall settings and Adobe is allowed through. No connection issues using my Browser, Skype etc.
Anyone got any solutions?

we have Avaya PBX ver. 5.2 (upgrade 2010) with enabled SIP server. Normally we use SIP trunks as input lines and SIP extensions.
Now we want to apply Skype Connect as a new input channel to our PBX (Czech republic, Slovakia, Hungary), but I just received answer from Avaya that Skype Connect is possible to use only un USA at this moment.... In the first phase, Avaya customers in the U.S.3 will have access to Skype Connect™, providing a SIP communications channel between Avaya communications systems and Skype.
Please help me with this case.

I not sure why Avaya is telling you that you cannot use SIP in your country, and don't know more specifics on the Avaya product you are using.
We have Skype for SIP users all around the world using Avaya IP Office and other Avaya systems. Half of the older systems use SIP gateway devices because they have not upgraded their systems to current releases. That may be a solution for you also. There are many ways to use Skype for SIP and if you contact you local Telecom Consultant, they will be able to provise you with more information.

How to configure Lync-Skype connectivity

i have configured Lync edge with single public IP without reverse proxy and my external users can connect it.. now my next task is to provide the lync-skype connectivity for which i need to configure federation services.. i have an extra Public IP and
can create a public fed SIP SRV record and map to my new Public IP. what other changes are required on server end for implementation of federation services ?

Skype Federation Issue

Hello All,
I followed the
Provisioning Guide for Lync-Skype Connectivity and Microsoft has successfully processed my PIC request however when I try to IM from SKYPE using my Live Credentials its shows the Lync user however I am unable to get presence status or message
them. I have tried to add the user from the lync client and same issue. I have checked our firewall and all necessary ports are open.

Check if you have done the following steps in Lync server control panel:
Configure federation and PIC
Configure at least one policy to support federated user access
Configure the Skype PIC provider setting for Lync

Bad corporate wifi connection issues

Hi,
I've experienced a corporate wifi connection issue.
Having the issue on two z3compacts (latest kitkat build) and also with a Z3 (also latest kitkat build).
connection details:
EAP-Method: PEAP
Phase 2-Auth: MSCHAPV2
CA-Certs: no
Identity: yes
Password: yes
Issue is the following if you roaming between APs it happens the the smartphones jumps to a next AP with better signal but it is not possible to connect to the wifi.
There are two workarounds:
1. re-enter the password for the connection again
2. turn on airplane mode and turn it off again
The state is very annoying.
We've tested various Samsung and Nexus smartphones and we couldn't experienced that issue.
Any of you experienced the same?

Can't believe anymore that it is a network component issue...because,
We have 500 android devices integrated (LG, Samsung, Nexus) and also nearly 4300 iPhones (4s, 5c, 5s and 6 (IOS7-8))
Besides them three xperia Z3 devices for testing purpose.
We only experienced this issue with the xperia devices.
Actually we're observing this issue over a month now.
We checked also the wifi controler logs and we saw that the xperia devices quit connections and connections tries by themselves.

Skype Connect - SIP Channels

Hi everybody,
Sorry for being a noob, and trying not to be a troll... look at me using all this web lingo, don't even know if I got it right?
Anyway never used a message board before because I've always managed to figure it out myself, and there seems to be a lot of issues here that I just can't wade through to find what I am looking for, nevertheless, you can ask and see what happens.
With Skype Connect, I read the instructions, and purchased 4-channels to receive inbound calls, from the payment area instructions it appears that 4-channels will be able to handle at least 10-inbound calls, but when you hover over the help question mark on the features page once you've assigned the channels to a SIP Profile it says you can only have 4 inbound/outbound calls.
I have trawled the internet, looking for guidance on this? Which is it? Can someone please help? I am setting up a project where I will be expecting a high volume of inbound calls, there will be very few, if any outbound calls, and 10 was a good testing point.
Can someone please advise me how many channels I would need to get at least 10 simultaneous inbound calls? Even if someone could point me in the right direction I would be really appreciative of your assistance.

Each channel carries one phone call. So if you have 4 channels, you can carry 4 simultaneous phone calls, in any combination of incoming or outgoing.

Skype Connect times out with Elastix - Desperately...

Hello All,
I'm trying to use Skype Connect with Elastix and I am having issues. I have tried everything I could.
The logs keep showing this :
Registration for ***' timed out, trying again (Attempt #3)
My registration string is [***]
Shouldn't the above line make the trunk get registered?
Please help.

Edit: I have already tried using putty to connect to the Elastix box. I tried using telnet sip.skype.com 5060. All this works fine. I am able to ping sip.skype.com from the elastix box. I haven't found signs of connectivity issues or firewall blocking or anything like that so far. But strangely, the timedout error is being really tough on me

Before going further, would you please let me know the RDC version that used in the problematic computer? Was it the same with other computers?
Please temporarily disable firewall and then check if this issue can be solved. Based on your current description, it’s hard to say the root reason of this issue.
So, I suggest that you should check relevant log files and get some clues. It will help us to narrow down and solve your issue.

Skype connect not connecting

Hi there
I have 2 separate skype connect connections, 1 into a PBX in Brisbane, the other in Wellington. They have been working happily for quite a while. As of sometime today no one can connect to them, the connection says "connecting" but it never makes a connection to the PBX and the call never completes.
At the PBX the lines are registered and show no issues. We use these for inbound only so I don't know if outbound works but I will check.
Is anyone aware of any issues with Skype Connect and the best way to report it

Thanks very much, we are using it for inbound to allow remote callers on Skype in, so I am not sure there is an alternative. It worked well for quite a while then dropped off in the last few months.
I don't really know the right way to get hold of them. Nothing much has worked. But an unreliable service is no good - cleaner to have nothing in terms of support and expectations

Has anyone had WiFi connectivity issues at home with their iPhone 5 after accepting the recent IOS 8.0.2 update?

Yes, despite being it an iPhone5 (8.0.2) attempting to connect to an Airport Express.
In my case the iPhone "connects" to Airport Express 2nd generation, but no Internet packages are available; Airport Utility shows the Airport Express as not connected to the Internet; but the iMac, MBP, Motorola phone, Samsung Smart TV and HP printer connect without any trouble.
The actual issue is the DHCP :
sometimes the iPhone gets none, and
when an address is assigned it just doesn't work,
even renewing the address won't work all the times,
switching off and on the WiFi won't work all the times neither,
going on Airplane mode, then back won't work all the times.
Solutions attempted and failed:
Reseting and reconfiguring Airport Express;
Reseting iPhone;
Switching off and on the iPhone;
Setup the DHCP renewal for every 5 days;
Meditation and stark visualisation;
Other possible patch not yet attempted : setting fixed IP addresses
All suggestions received resemble Windows' "Plug & Pray"
I gave up after reading several notes around the WWW complaining about it.
Last credible suggestion : wait for 8.0.3 or 8.1, whichever fixes the issue first.
