Samsung Galaxy Ace won't turn on or charge

I was on my phone last night and it suddenly froze, although it was only at 16%, it then stayed frozen for several minutes and the screen went blank completely and it turned off and I could not turn it back on. I tried to charge it overnight but the next morning I still could not turn it back on. I have tried charging it again this morning but the phone is completely unresponsive. I have taken the battery out and put it back in again which hasn't done anything. I have also tried charging it through my laptop and PC using a USB cable but my laptop just says that it 'doesn't recognise the USB device' Please help as I need to have my phone working tonight as I have a party I am hosting and I need to communicate with the guests!

Hi,
Buy another battery as they are cheap and that will rule out any battery issue.
Thanks,

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 won't turn on, and will only vibrate when charging?!

My Galaxy S4 had a meltdown of sorts.  It suddenly stopped charging and happened when I had 1% battery left.  Once the phone died and I tried keeping it on the charger and everything, it would only vibrate about every three seconds with a pitch black screen, and that was only occasionally.  I did all the obvious things to try.  I also tried plugging the usb charger into my computer; that seemed to help at first with a different result but only gave me the battery symbol on the phone in black and white with the circle in the center not moving and not charging. I tried to do the hard reset and also tried a friends charger and neither worked.  When plugged into the computer, a pop up sometimes comes up and says the device you have plugged in has malfunctioned and cannot be read.
I am currently out of the country for another 2 months, so finding help for this in a store won't exactly be easy.  Any help will be appreciated greatly!

        booperman13,
Zoinks! Sorry to hear you are having trouble so far away. It sounds like it was working fine when you first replaced the battery and you had previously done a factory reset. The computer isn't recognizing it and it isn't charging. So, by process of elimination, based on what you have described it sounds like there might be a problem with the USB cable.
Since you replaced that battery have you tried another charger? That might give us greatly clarity as to the nature of the problem. As you are currently out of our reach, if it works fine with another charger and you need to replace it, I would reach out to Samsung for assistance with finding a local provider that has their charger or usb cable in their inventory: http://bit.ly/1v0IVFI .

  • Is Samsung Galaxy Ace compatible with Macbook Pro?

Hi everyone.  I am interested in buying a Samsung Galaxy Ace (Android 2.2 Froyo) but I dont have any idea if its Mac-compatible.  I tried searching the net for answers but can seem to find anything so far...
Hope you can help me with this issue guys...Thanks!

DavidGoodnight, I hope FoneSync for Android by Nova Media is the one you are looking for.  Their site says you just search for the app in the Android marketplace, install in your device and it wil just automatically download into your mac after syncing.  I haven't tried it myself because I have given up on buying the Samsung Ace because of compatibility issues but based on feedbacks from other users in this forum, this is the app you are looking for.
Here is the link for the app: http://www.novamedia.de/en/mac-fonesync-android.html. By the way, the app cannot be used to sync tablets running Android OS 3.x
I hope this answers your question.

  • Does FireFox Mobile work on the Samsung Galaxy Ace?

Hi I've just bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace and was looking to get Firefox Mobile as my browser but have been unable to find it in the Android Market. After some digging around I found a link to an installation file on the Firefox help forum : http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/772231?s=ftp&as=s
I transfered this to my phone but still had no look installing it as this eventually displays: application not installed.
Am I just being dumb, or is there an issue with the Ace?
    Thanks
    Jason

Sorry, Firefox is not available for the Samsung Galaxy Ace, because it does not meet the system requirements. For details, see https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#System_Requirements

  • Samsung Galaxy Ace - Mountain Lion problem

    Hello,
Ive recently downloaded Mountain Lion for my Macbook Pro. I have been happy with the program itself however i have a slight issue. When i tried connecting my Samsung Galaxy Ace to my phone it did not estblish a connection. This is quite perculiar as previously it used to work perfectly but post update not so well. I find this quite frustrating now as i can not put any music on my phone! So i was hoping that somebody would be nice enough to suggest some solutions. Ive already tried using a different wire, rebooting my phone, restarting my mac but i have no luck! Hopefully somebody can help me.
    Thanks Junaid
( I need to listen to my Jay-Z songs!! )

In my experience with Android Gingerbread, ICS, and Jelly Bean: once you enable USB data/sharing/tethering in the phone settings, then connect a USB cable to the Mac, it just connects and mounts the internal and external SD cards as folders on the Mac desktop. Then you can drag and drop files both ways. You should eject each mounted device to preserve your phone data.

  • My iphone 5 won't turn on or charge

My Iphone 5 won't turn on or charge. I've tried 3 different chargers, a reset but still nothing. Any ideas or tips?

    Hi there Betty Boop 64,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Issue not resolved
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

i turned my ipod off, and it won't turn back on. charging doesn't work and it won't be recognised by wi-fi or usb connections. how do i fix it?

Check your cable whether it is good. If it is use the wall plug to charge at least half an hour. See how it goes.

  • I just got my battery and iphone 4 screen fixed and when it turned off because there weren't any battery left, I tried charging it. Now it won't turn on or charge... what do i do?

I just got my battery and iphone 4 screen fixed and when it turned off because there weren't any battery left, I tried charging it. After charging it for like thirty minutes, I pressed the home & lock button and it turned on for a moment for me to see that it was only at 1%... So basically it wasn't charging for that entire half hour. Then, I tried connecting it to my computer and nothing is popping up... so it won't turn on or charge... what do i do?

Who repaired the phone? I suggest taking it back to this repair facility. Since Apple replaces phones instead of repair, the repair facility would be the one to take care of your problem.

  • Macobook pro won't turn on or charge

Ok, so I was surfing the web on my 3 month old macbook pro 2011 and it completly turned off while it had plenty of battery left. I only had it on for about an hour but it felt pretty hot. So my first thought was that the battery died, so I plug it it but it won't charge. I tried different outlets, the light on the charger it self is blinking pretty fast but it just won't turn on or charge at all.
I made an appointment with the genious bar for tomorrow, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows what could be the cause. I think it may have overheated, but I really do not use this laptop much.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I think it may have overheated, but I really do not use this laptop much.
There could be many reasons.  For one thing the MBP is NOT a laptop.  It is a notebook.   It should never be used on the lap nor should it's vents be blocked.  According to the user manual it states in part:
"Do not operate your MacBook Pro on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the airflow vents. Never place anything over the keyboard when operating your MacBook Pro. Never push objects into the ventilation openings."
MacBook Pro: Care, Use, and Safety Information
"Do not place your MacBook Pro on your lap or other body surface for extended periods of time. Prolonged body contact can cause discomfort and potentially a burn."

No that’s probably what I’ll do. I'm thinking the guys at the apple store can only do basic technical support since most of them are sales people that don't know how to physically repair phones. It seems kinda silly that, as fine as a product the iPhone is, when something like this happens they just tell you to replace the entire device without doing any proper diagnostic. If it was any other phone you could simply take it to a cell phone repair shop and they'll usually fix it. It’s almost as though Apple assumes their products will never fail so that when they do, the only solution is to replace the entire device at a cost higher then it would be if it was just a simple fix. So hopefully the local cell repair shop can do something instead of having to replace the entire phone. I'll accept the fact if I have to replace it after taking it to a few places and having some real technicians look at it, instead of a 5 minute trial and error diagnostic done by a sales associate at the apple store being quick to tell me that the phone is useless and has to be replace for several hundreds of dollars.

  • New Samsung Galaxy S5 won't download MMS messages

Hi,  I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 and it wont download the MMS messages.  I've looked everywhere for answers but can only seem to find info on previous iphone users switching to the Galaxy.  This is quite aggravating and would appreciate any advice.

I am going through the same thing.  I have read the info here and it has been pretty useless.  I am coming from an old-style Casio Brigade.  I would receive a picture message, click on it, and it would open.  With my new Samsung Galaxy S5, this doesn't happen.  There are several messages sitting there, all with a download tab -click it and nothing happens.  I am connected to wifi, and my phone is receiving text messages, so why no photo messages?  Of course, if I turn on "mobile data" and choose to be charged an outrageous amount for data, then everything works as advertised.  It SHOULD be able to receive this like any other text message, as it did on my old phone.  If it needs the internet (and I don't understand why it would), it IS connected via wifi in my home.  How do you or I fix this so that I don't have to use my mobile data each time I receive a group or photo message?

  • Samsung galaxy tab2 won't connect to my hub

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows how they get there hub to allow a samsung galaxy tab2 to access the wifi. All I keep getting is that it finds the hub, I then enter my password when prompted. The tablet then shows as authenticating, then save and secured appears under hub name, but within seconds keeps reverting back to authenticating and then back to saved and secured.
There's nothing wrong with the tablet's wifi as I took it back to the shop and it connected with their wifi immediately. I have windows nokia smartphone and that works fine. I've tried a suggested solution of manually connecting but still no sucess.
One person suggested accessing my router and entering the mac address of the tablet but I have no idea how to access my router. Please help if you can as my money is looking to have been wasted at the moment.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Try going into your phones wifi settings. Select your Homehub and click and hold on it. This should bring up an option to forget the network. Select this option. Once done, turn off the phone then restart it. Go into the wifi settings again and scan for networks. Locate your Homehub, making sure it is your homehub and not a neighbours, and select it. Enter the wireless passkey found on the rear of your Homehub. (see link). All being well it should connect.

If this doesn't help then do a factory reset of the Homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds then try the above again. The factory reset sorts out any configuration problems in the hub.

  • Galaxy S4 won't turn on all the way

My Galaxy S4 won't completely turn on. It gets to the Verizon screen and just stops, it's not necessarily frozen, it just pauses and doesn't get any further than. I've never had this problem before and I've only used the original charger for it so I don't know what would've caused this to happen.

I'm having that problem now...I tried the battery trick- didn't work.  I travel for a living and my phone is my lifeline- use it for scheduling, navigation, email/web, etc.  I tried trying it on this morning prior to going thru airport security, by the time I got thru and to my gate, the phone was EXTREMELY HOT to the touch.  I had also been getting error messages the two weeks prior saying "security policies stopped" or "amazon stopped", etc.- related?
does anyone have a contact email where I can contact verizon?  going thru the website now and this was the only contact info i could find...unless you want to call!  starting to loose faith after 14 years with them....

  • Flash Question Re Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 - GTI8160

Am I correct in saying that if a mobile device says it is not compatible with Adobe Flash then the phone won't be able to play a flash file no matter which Add-On is used?
If anyone has a solution as to enabling this smartphone to play Flash files I will appreciate it.
I am aware that companies should be using HTML5 when compiling their new videos in order that they will play in all mobile phones.

It is originally a Gingerbread-based phone but was upgraded to JellyBean 4.1.2 some time ago, so not sure if the stock browser has been upgraded by doing so, all I can say is that when I check the version for '''Internet''' via application manager it says it's version '''4.1.2-I8160XXNA1'''
Do you happen to know if the upgrade from GB 2.3.6 to JellyBean 4.1.2 also upgraded the android web browser to the Chrome version, hopefully from the info I presented above with be enough to say which browser version I have.
I found this and perhaps this is why my phone has issues with Flash:
Using out of date software works in its favour in another way too. The Galaxy Ace 2 supports Adobe Flash, '''where Jelly Bean phones will not.''' Adobe is reportedly going to remove the Flash app from Google Play some time in the future, so if you have an Ace 2 already, you'd better download it now.
