Samsung HDMI 1080p no longer works after 10.8.4
Has anyone else had a new problem with HDMI connection to their Samsung LN40B series TV failing to successfully work at 1080P since installing 10.8.4?
This is happening via mini display port ---> HDMI connection with both a MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13.
The 10.8.4 update has changed the video signal at 1080P so that my Samsung LN40B530P7NXZA no longer will accep the 1080P signal
It works fine under 10.8.3 at 1080P on the very same hardware and cabling. Booting back and forth between 10.8.3 and 10.8.4 definitely shows a problem when 10.8.4 tries to negotiate a 1080P connection.
Tweaking the signal with SwitchResX allows 1080P/60 to work under 10.8.4, but the natively supplied 1080P setting in the 10.8.4 display preference pane yields an unsupported mode error on the TV.
Reverting to 10.8.3 once more allows the 1080P resolution to function.
Interestingly, this isn't happening with all TV's. Another brand TV does fine at 1080P no matter if 10.8.3 or 10.8.4 is booted.
If you are using your mac to drive a Samsung TV at 1080P via HDMI, be sure to have a means of reverting back to 10.8.3 in case you run into this problem.
Sounds like we are having a similar problem. Mine is with an external display, hooked up to a rMBP, using a thunderbolt to VGA adaptor. Problemed was visable immediately after updating to 10.8.4

I have a HP Touchsmart tm2t Notebook and was using an HDMI cord to connect to a television since I bought the computer in 2010. A few months back, I downloaded Windows 8 and ever since then, the HDMI connection to the TV no longer works. I've tried the troubleshooting steps that I could find and nothing seems to work. Yoga 13 HDMI output no longer works after Windows 8.1 update
I recently updated to Windows 8.1 (big mistake!), and I am suddenly no loger able to connect my Yoga 13 to my Samsung TV through the HDMI output. When I connect the cable, the laptop screen is deactivated; the TV registers a signal, but displays a black screen with no audio. I was able to duplicate displays (even though the TV remained black), and the Screen Resolution dialogue said that no external display was detected.
I've already upgraded to all of the latest drivers, to no avail. I can't seem to find a solution on the forum or anywhere else. Anyone have an idea what the problem may be?Hello KatieMcK

HDMI monitor no longer working after 10.9.3
While rebooting/upgrading to 10.9.3 the external HDMI monitor connected to my macbook pro '13
started "flashing" as in "detecting the display" similar to when you plug in the hdmi cable with the system running.
I'm not able to do anything unless I unplug the HDMI since it keeps retrying to "detect the display".
If I open the "display" in the settings panel I see between a "flash" and another that the monitor is detected but looks like it keeps "swiching on/off"
checked the monitor with another laptop and everything works, so the problem seems to be related to the 10.9.3 upgradefrom the logs

Internet Explorer 9 no longer works after an uninstall of HP Support Centre
Internet Explorer 9 no longer works after an uninstall of HP Support Centre and drivers for 3 HP All-in-One printers (psc1310, C4180, F4200). Intend to re-install for just C4180. I selected option to remove for all related software, though the HP Update and Photosmart Essentials have been left. IE9 stops working when launched (even when launched with no add-ons and with Protected Mode disabled and Advanced Settings restored) and regardless of initial URL. If I remove the IE9 update then IE8 works fine. I tried re-installing IE9 update, twice, and it continues to fail.
I’m running Vista 32 Home Premium SP2 on Samsung Q210 with Norton 360 v5, SpywareBlaster and Spybot - Search & Destroy.

View Solution.I now believe the problem with IE9 was not related to HP, but to a Windows Update replacement to the “Intel Corporation - Display - Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family” drivers: Intel Corporation Display software update released in February, 2011 (useless link http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20411791). IE9 started working OK when I set “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering*” (see http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1678709 with reference to “faulting module igdumdx32.dll”), so will now investigate removing that update.
Sorry to have cast aspersions on HP. MS did this to themselves, as usual. -

Did you try deleting then reinstalling the app? Sometimes developers will need to update their apps for compatibility. If it still doesn't work after reinstalling, wait a few days to see if an app update becomes available.

Many of my previously working Palm Pre Apps are no longer working after the webOS 1.4 update.
Here are the ones that just return a blank/white screen after launching so far:
SplashID
Daily Devo
Daily Light (Love)
Absolute Fitness (some options no longer work correctly & are returning a white screen and some options are working)
These are just a few of the Apps that I am having problems with and there are probably many others. I have also sent emails/posted to forums on the developer sites to advise. Hopefully I will hear something back soon.
Anyone else experiencing this issue as well with any Apps?

EDIT: Never mind. It appears that it only did that on the first launch. I closed it and restarted it, and now the screen in SplashID is correct. -

The button's broken. S**t happens. Apple will replace your phone. If in waranty it will be free of charge. If not, you will pay $149.
You can elect to have it repaired at a 3rd party shop near you if you choose, but this will void all warranty if there's any left. -
Canon iP2700 is no longer working after update
My Canon iP2700 is no longer working after doing an update yesterday. I am using the cnijfilter-ip2700series 3.30-2 from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41797 with cups 1.5.2. I have blacklisted usblp, but this doesn't help. My printer is recognized, and apparently I can print but nothing happens. This is my error log:

I think it's something related to the driver. If i change the driver to another printer model from CUPS the printer works. Prints garbage, but at least works. So this means that we have to wait for a new driver or what?

Under the Mac Yosemite 10.10.2 O.S. -- the System Preferences: Java pane/ctrl-panel: Update-tab-function no-longer works, after updting to Java 8v40 JRE & SDK -- says that the internet connection is not valid !
A few questions....I assume your network is connected to the Internet? Do you use a proxy? If so, is it set in the browser or in the Java Control Panel?

then you have internet that is about 3x slower than the da 10.7.3 intenet sharing, but works

Score export to PDF creating corrupt file
I have a three page score in the "guitar mix" format. Using the camera tool to export to a PDF, page 1 comes out fine, but pgs 2 and 3 won't open in Preview. It says the file is corrupt. I have restarted the machine already. No change.

My interface has disappeared after resetting preferences
