Samsung LCD TV 32" showing shades on screen!

The model is LA32S71.
It's starting showing shades and traces on the screen: for example, I watch Fox Series, so now, I can see shade of Fox Series on the screen even after i trun off the TV.
In addition, there are many black/grey sports.......
what do you is the problem?

Sounds like you may be getting some burn in, or possibly the motherboard may just be going. If you have the black tie protection, call the 1-800-geeksquad number and have them come out to look at it. The series of possibilities that could have caused this issue are to numerous to list without having a professional take a look at it.

The picture on the screen when viewing movies on Apple TV on a samsung lcd screen is only a strip across the screen and doesn't fill the entire screen.  Any settings suggestions?

If you can get to the settings on the AppleTV attempt to adjust the resolution settings to something more appropriate.

  • Trouble connecting Macbook to Samsung LCD TV

    Hello,
I tried connecting my Macbook to my Samsung LCD TV (through a DVI to HDMI cable) but I only got a black screen and "No signal". The macbook detects the Samsung and even displays "SAMSUNG" as a detected display.
I checked the TV manual and there I found "Don't connect a PC or laptop computer to the HDMI/DVI connectors (it will result in a black screen)"
Does anybody know why? Any solution?
Will this happen with a MacMini too? I had the intention to connect it to my TV and use it as a media center

Sorry to tell you that DVI does not support sound.  You either have to use a HDMI cable (with the appropriate adapter) or tap your audio output port with a 'Y' type cable configuration for sound.
    Ciao.

  • Macbook Pro to Samsung LCD TV

I'm trying to hook up a MacBook Pro to a Samsung LCD TV (Model: LE40A656A1FXXU) but when I connected it up the message on the screen was something along the lines of 'mode not supported'. Can someone tell me what I need to do? Currently I'm using the external monitor connection on the MacBook Pro to the PC input of the TV.

I recommend not going this route, the exchange did nothing as I expected, with nothing else to try I figured why not.
After calling in about the issue after they had replaced the old macbook they told me that the "apple engineers" were working on it and to just wait out for that to happen.
    Also new update,
Computer recognizes the TV when I have MDP->VGA->VGA cable 6'->TV VGA input (but the TV does not recognize the macbook)
*The TV* recognizes the macbook (only) when in addition to the above configuration I connect a 10' VGA extension cable. The would seem to be a resolution but I say the TV sees the macbook but now the macbook can't get the driver info from the Tv and there I am stuck with 1024x768 (stretched).
There is one way trick both devices into working and that is to plug in the MDP->VGa adaptor connect the 6' VGa cable to the MacBook can get the info from the TV. Leave the adaptor connected to the computer and remove the VGA cable from the adaptor assemble the combination of the 6'and 10' cables and then plug it in and it works fine.
Kinda of a pain though when you have to do this everytime you connect the Macbook to the TV.
I really hope apple can get this driver straighten out ASAP.

  • How do i connect mac book pro 5.5 to samsung lcd tv (series 5)?

i have a macbook pro 5.5 and tried to connect it to my samsung lcd tv series 5 -  i have mini display port to hdmi cable, hdmi cable and phono to rga cable - i can see screen but cannot hear any sound... can anyone help?
    thanks

I assume you mean rca... what is happening is you're outputting digital sound via your hdmi. Phono or anything analog will not work if you're playing using hdml, because it plays both sound and sends video. what you should do is plug the hdmi cord from your mDP directly into the hd tv, then run whatever sound output the tv has to what i assume is a reciever for sound. Let the tv decode the audio to then output to your "phono" or "rga".

  • Using DVI - HDMI cable output to Samsung LCD TV

For some reason, i have been using the DVI -> VGA Adapter with a VGA cable outputted to my new Samsung LCD TV, with resolution 1920x1080. I purchased a DVI -> HDMI Cable, but the quality/resolution is subpar to using the VGA Cable, it seems as if the resolution is upscaling itself, but according to Display Preferences, it is outputting at 1920x1080i, When i'm using the VGA cable it just says 1920x1080, without i or p.
    Anyone know why?

I've been trying to communicate with a Samsung LE40A656 via a DVI-HDMI cable.
I think there must be issues with HDMI on that model because the TV can't detect a signal on the HDMI port and the MPB can't see a monitor.
But I have managed to get full screen via the Apple DVI-VGA adaptor and the D-sub port on the Samsung using the specification in this archive thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6400626&#6400626
Before I upgraded my TV I had a cheap(ish) Hyundai Vuon with a DVI port which worked fine with my MBP.
Would still like to know why HDMI doesn't work on the Samsung.

  • Connecting my old iMac G4 to my Samsung LCD TV

I have an iMac G4. The monitor went out years ago and I have been using an external monitor via the display port and adapter. The resolution on the iMac is set to the highest available on the display preferences. The monitor has always worked fine; however, I thought I would connect the iMac to my Samsung LCD TV (it's a few years old - 5 Series 1080). When I connect it to my TV via the "PC" connection option and select "PC" as the source, I see the splash screen (gray), but when the OS boots my TV says "Mode not supported." Anyone have any sage advise for me . . . I would love to utilize my old iMac for renting movies from iTunes.

TVs have very specific resolutions, and your iMac predates widescreens in anything but movie theaters. So long story short, since your iMac can only mirror your built-in (well, attached in the case of the G4 models) you basically have a choice. Either the monitor runs at a resolution the TV can support, which is probably going to be 720x480, you get a special converter box, or you just come to the conclusion most do, and decide it's really just not worth the effort.
If you had one of the newer iMacs where it's either a native 16:9 resolution or you could at least set an independent resolution, this would be much easier. As it is, you're pretty much screwed, sorry.

  • Connecting powerbook g4 to samsung lcd le32 r7

does anyone know how to connect a powerbook g4 to a samsung lcd le32 r7. At the moment im using a dvi to vga adapter. The mac can see the tv but the tv cannot see the mac. i have tried different modes on the tv and different screen resolutions but none seem to work. The adapter works fine with a normal crt monitor is it worth buying a dvi to vga cable or does anyone know how to get it to work via dvi hdmi?
    powerbook g4

I would use a DVI to HDMI cable, and you'll have to use a separate audio cable also. A number of people on Amazon have recommended http://www.monoprice.com/products/department.asp?c_id=109 as a good cable source. If you look in your Samsung user guide, I think you'll find that S-video doesn't support as high a resolution as HDMI.

  • MacBook Pro and Samsung lcd

Ok so i have a 52 inch Samsung lcd...until a couple of hours ago everything was working perfect. I had my macbook closed, connected to the LCD, and i was using apple's bluetooth keyboard and mouse and it was just working perfectly.
About 2 hours ago i decided to try to change the resolution on the screen to make things bigger. I changed to the first resolution and i reverted back to the original cause i could not see...i then did another resolution and i don't know what i did but now my screen keeps saying "mode not supported".
I now have the display on mirror and i have my mac book open (by this i mean the computer's screen is working) and i can see perfectly on the samsung lcd...
When i close the macbook pro though the samsung lcd goes black and then i get "mode not supported"...
Is there any way to "restore" to the original settings i had before? i seriously do not understand why its not working

OS X stored two different preferences for a given display depending on whether it is being run as a sole display (lid down) or a second display (lid up). Unfortunately, the value stored for lid down currently is not useable, and every time the Mac is put in lid down mode, it keeps reverting to that same value.
If you follow the instructions at the bottom of the page in the following link about dealing with the windowserver.plist file, you should be able to get back to a fresh start.

  • 46" Samsung LCD problem!

My 46" Samsung LCD, (model #LNT4661F, bought on May 10, 2008) has 2-3 horizontal lines across the screen on startup.  Once it heats a little, usually 20-30 seconds, the lines go away.  As long as the TV stays on, the lines do not return.  Any ideas on what the problem could be?  I'm afraid that the problem could worsen, and the lines could become permanent.  Is there a possible 'quick fix'?  Any suggestions?  Thanks!  JBurch

I have a 40 inch lcd samsung and I have the same problem, I have the extended warranty and it sounds like it is the panel, please note that I have had my panel replaced 3 times and now finally I  get a new tv or my $ back so I can purchase a new tv. Since the 4th panel they came to install was defective and didn't even work!
Try tweeking the panel just a little after you turn on the tv, thats what the Tv repair guy did for us 4 times and it is still not fixed.
Best Buy has been dragging their feet with this issue, I purchased the Tv in Dec. 18, 2009, I first reported the problem 1/4/2010, then it took 31/2 months to get the first repair approved, within a day the panel went out again, same problem, called again, next panel install, end of  March, then called again in april for another panel, next panel May 24, it was defective, didn't even work!
DON"T Buy Samsung, the longevity seems to only last one year.
Also since I will be getting a repalcement TV, apparently i will need to purchase a new Ext. warranty. This is just crazy, It has taken me 6 months to fix the one problem and it is so frustrating. Best Buys ext warranty isn't all what it is cracked up to be. They move very slow and it takes them a long time to solve a problem, also they don't offer "Loaner Tv's" that's a joke too!

  • Okay my phone was working just fine and I locked it and went to unlock it and now it just sits on the black screen it wont even show the lock screen I dont know what to do but I am very careful with my phone anyone know how to fix it? Plz and thank you!

Okay my phone was working just fine and I went to unlock it and it wont show the lock screen it just remains black please if anyone can help me fix it it will be much appreciated, I am very careful with my phone so I dont know why its acting like this.

I'm glad to hear that they replaced your phone. Any experience I have had with Apple customer service and/or Genius bar has been extremely positive. While I have had positive outcomes from trouble with other phones in the past, they are not as quick and  friendly. I had a Motorola phone and a Samsung phone go bad several years ago and warranty work through AT&T required that I wait for a replacement unit and then mail back the original unit to keep from being charged for the device. This usually meant almost a week without a phone. Nice to walk into Apple and walk out with a replacement device. Enjoy your phone.

  • My IPOD touch got wet and now only shows a white screen.  How to fix?

My IPOD touch got wet (it was not submerged in water, just rained on) and now only shows a white screen.  How can I fix this?  I already dried it in rice, and reinstalled it on ITUNES.

unless you have apple care which even that probably doesnt cover water damage. youre gonna need to buy a new screen. probably set you back $60 something. look up ipod touch 4g lcd screen in google and look for sites like amazon or something. unless you wanna have apple charge you like 100 bucks for it or probably more

  • YouTube will not work on safari for me on the ipad. Is there anyway to fix this? I can go anywhere else on the internet fine and it works on google chrome, but on safari it shows a blank screen with the bar on top after it loads.

I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

thats tough man, yeah exchanging it is the best option. But why do people always leave a message saying" i'll probably just by an ipod" and it's usually followed by, "even though i don't like apple or ipod" . I mean fine, if u feel like giving up on the zen micro thats fine, i personally don't care if you're going to buy an ipod. for god sakes ipod isn't even the next alternati've mp3 players, theres plenty. Are u just trying to get the creative people saying "oh man we lost another one to ipod" cuz i'm sure they don't lose sleep over u wanting to buy an ipod instead of a zen. *done ranting*
