Samsung Omnia Mobile Phone does not connect to my MacBook Pro

Hi guys. I am after some advice please.
My Mac Book Pro is currently not allowing me to browse my Samsung Omnia phone by bluetooth.
It has worked previously however, it is not now. It recognises that the phone is there but when it comes to connecting it says "The connection failed or closed" - Would you like to attempt to reconnect or close this window?
I do not know how to get this to work and I cannot use the USB transfer wire as it is not compatible with Apple Macs.
I have some photos and files I would like to transfer over however, I cannot do so.
Any help much appreciated please.

Hi Elizaanne,
I understand you are having issues with HP Officejet 6700 Premium not connect to your  Macbook Pro.
Sometimes the router needs to be cycled.  I would unplug the router, turn off printer, turn off computer.
Turn back on router wait 5 min and turn on printer and computer.
Check on the printer if Wifi is SOLID.
From System Preferences, open Print and Fax or Print and Scan pane. If you see the printer listed
Click remove printer-  button. It will ask for confirmation of delete printer.
Click the Add or + button, select the printer Bonjour Multifunction not Fax. Adding that should update the drivers.
If the Printer Wifi is not solid you will have to set it up again.
Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
Touch the Right Arrow to display the second navigation screen.
Touch Setup , and then touch Network .
Touch Wireless Setup Wizard
Then add it to you Mac 10.7.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to contact me if you require further assistance.
Thanks

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium suddenly does not connect to my Macbook Pro anymore

Yes, resetting the system and adding the printer allows me to print. Unfortunately, I have to do that on a regular basis.  I don't understand why it will not stay connected.  I am not familiar with Airport Extreme.

    Hey @Cjean ,
I was wondering how things with the printer are and your MacBook Pro. Sometimes if you plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. With it being an Airport extreme, make sure you have not connected the Printer to the Guest network.
Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.
You could try this: Repair Disk Permissions
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left, by default this is Macintosh HD.
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.
Please let me know how this works out.
    Thanks.

  • TS1381 My left arrow does not work on my macbook pro(model A1226).  I have reset nvram, performed a safe boot, pulled the cache to desktop, replaced .globalpreference.plist, test all other keys with keyboard view (all others work)  - HELP!!

My left arrow does not work on my macbook pro(model A1226).
I have reset nvram, performed a safe boot, pulled the cache to desktop, replaced .globalpreference.plist, & tested all other keys with "keyboard viewer" (all other keys work except for the arrow).
In addition, I have gone thru all the recommended checks with universal access and have booted from snow leopard dvd and the left arrow still does not work.
I have tried using the left arrow key in all of applications I use such as: excel, ms word, address book, calendar, iphoto, terminal, & highlighting an icon and using the arrows to move to another selected icon.
Here is the kicker!  In addition, I purchased a logitech solar bluetooth keyboard and the arrows work fine with my ipad but do not work when paired with the macbook pro. All other keys work fine on the macbook pro using the bluetooth keyboard.
I believe this says that the problem is not in my macbook pro keyboard. So where can it be?
Can anyone think of any other rabbit holes I can search?
    thanks and regards
    vats3

I would also like to add that I've reverted the two cd drive and hard drive mods I did and the laptop is back to factory hardware and there is 0 corrosion or mold visible.

  • Does 'Network Connect' work with MacBook Pro?

My safari unexpectedly quits when attempting to log into my company's VPN.
    - I log into our VPN website and the connection begins to initialize
    - with my MacBook, Safari (2.0.3) unexpectedly quits
    - with my PowerBook, 'Network Connect' automatically starts and the VPN connection completes without any problem
Does 'Network Connect' work with MacBook Pro? Any ideas?

Resolved. MacBook Pro was having trouble dowloading the 'Network Connect' application when I logged into my VPN client for the first time. I copied it from my PowerBook G4 over to the appropriate folder and it now works perfectly.

  • Macbook pro establish its own network, but phone does not connect

I bought my macbook pro retina 15.4 inch this month online in Singapore.
When my thunderbolt connects my macbook to Internet, I want to establish a wireless network so that my phone can access Internet wirelessly.
The problem is 2 out 3 times, the wireless network is working fine and my phone can access Internet. But, for the rest of times, my phone cannot connect to wireless sent by my macbook.
The phone will show the name of my network and the strength is the strongest. And it will connect, connecting, back to scanning then connecting back to scanning again. It will just fall in that loop and never connect to Internet.
My phone model is motorola xt910, but I do not think the problem is related to the phone because Ipad, iphone of my friends' also experience similar problem when the wireless is abnormal.
I use school lan cable, but it should not be a problem also because it work fine sometimes but not so sometimes.
Can someone help me out?  Is it the hardware problem??
    Thanks.

  • My iPhone 5 does not connect to my Macbook via Bluetooth (this is so frustrating!!)

Ok so i bought my iPhone 5 a couple days ago. So i installed and applications from app store ( on my mac ) which enables me to control my iphone through my mac (via bluetooth). It's very cool when my iphone is docked so i don't need to reach to it every single time. AND. guess what. my iphone refuses to connect to macbook and vice versa.
This is sooo frustrating i'm gonna die.
When i go to the general settings and bluetooth menu, it doesn't even find my macbook. I need to go to the bluetooth menu on mac, set up bluetooth device and then select my iphone. Then, it does pair. BUT it doesn't connect it says:
    Connection Unsuccessful
    "Macbook Pro" is not supported.
And gives me only on option: "Forget Device"
    Any help?

you mentioned you purchased from the mac app store, the only thing I could find is Type2Phone, and that app has some ts'ing steps in its description that match almost exactly what you described /

    Greating from Brazil,
I have an iPhone 4 and have always used to the USB cable to connect it to my macs. It works perfectly fine in onther 4 macbooks: one macbook white 2007, one macbook pro 2010 and a macbook air 2012.
Now I have the brand new macbook air 2013 and the iPhone is the only USB device I can not connect to it (all my external hard drives, wireless headphone work just fine). • HP Laserjet ProP1102 will not connect with my MacBook Pro

My new Macbook Pro with Yosemite will not print on this printer. It did do so a few days ago but not anymore. In wireless mode it will not communicate with the printer (or the printer will not communicate with it.) When connected with a wire the printer does not respond.
On my old MacPro with Mountain Lion it will print with a wire but not without.
There was a fleeting mysterious notice saying i needed a software update but I cannot find anything to this effect on the HP website.

    Hi @DavidL1,
I read your post and see that you are unable to print by a USB or Wireless connection. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. (sometimes the EWS won't open if it isn't set as the default)
Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
Restore the printer's default wireless settings:
    1. Turn the product off.
    2. Press and hold the wireless button and the cancel button and then turn the product on.
    3. Hold the buttons until the printer stops making noise, then release the buttons.
Print a a Configuration Page to make sure the IPv4 and SSID are cleared of the old settings.
    Printing a Configuration Page.
Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer..
    Reset the Printing System:
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system.
Follow this document to reconfigure the printer over the wireless network.
Setting Up the Printer for a Wireless Network for the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer.
Under OS X v10.10 Yosemite, OS X v10.9 Mavericks and OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion select Method three: Wireless setup using a USB connection.
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • IPad mini not connecting to my macbook pro

I have been trying to connect my Macbook Pro Retina (2.8 GHz Intel Core i7; OS X 10.9.2) to my iPad mini w/ Retina (iOS7) using bluetooth.  Both devices are on and discoverable.  I can see the iPad on the Macbook Pro and vice-versa, however when they are paired it initially says "connected" and then goes to "not connected."  When I attempt to connect using the "Send File" dialogue, it says " This device does not have the necessary services."  I am trying to transfer video files from my Macbook Pro Retina to my iPad mini w/Retina.  Also, do I need to transfer video files using iTunes?  I'm not sure how I will access the video files after transferring via bluetooth.  Thanks in advance for some help with this, I've been trying to do this for a while now (pretty frustrated).

Right now the best thing to do is be patient. The last six days many people have been reporting problems with FaceTime. The source of the problems remains unknown.

  • IPhone5 rejects does not support my new MacBook Pro

My new MacBook Pro on 10.8.4 established bluetooth contact with my iPhone5, but the phone said it does not support my MacBook Pro. Why?

    Dear snozdop
After 38 years with computers and programming I suddenly realize that my thoughts are not functioning in the rational way they used to behave. Things you have done as a regular habit for many years could suddenly be forgotten…
Thank you for advising me and putting me back on the track that I should have been on from the beginning this rainy early morning way up north of the arctic circle.
It also remindes me of a rule I made myself many years ago when programming: Some times it is wiser to put away the computer for a while and then in time the answers to problems will come.
Thank you again for spending time advising me of the obvious solution.
