Samsung Serie 850 EVO, will it work on my macbook pro late 2011?

Hi all,
I have a MBP late 2011 13", and I have found a nice offer for a samsung serie 850 evo, so I would like to upgrade my MBP with this SSD. But I can not find an specific answer for this Samsung SSD model, everyone seems to have upgrade it to the 840 or 850 pro :S
Does anyone know if it will work fine with my Mac?
Thaks!
Pedro.

This seems to be a popular choice, however:
http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-ssd-850-evo/
"  There's not much to complain about the drive except its Samsung Magician software, which is required for RAPID mode and other features and is available only for Windows. That means other platforms, such as Mac, Linux or game consoles, won't be able to take advantage of most of the drive's features."

  • Facebook and Hotmail will not work on my Macbook pro

Facebook and Hotmail will not work on my Macbook pro. I have tried safari and firefox. I have unloaded and reloaded an old version of firefox and still no luck. When go to ebay it opens but looks very weird. I am using Mac OS X Version 10.6.6 with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I am so frustrated, I have tried everything I can think of and still no luck.

Good of you to offer the detail you did (a lot of people don't bother) but it still is not quite enough. Texting that it "looks very weird" just leaves me blank. Most basic remedy for browser issues is to use Safari to google "adobe flash" and download a fresh file & install. Can't think of anything else given what you've posted....

  • Will FCPX work on my macbook pro?

Will FCPX work on my macbook pro? Will it be really slow?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It depends on your card. See > http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/specs/ You need a Intel HD Graphics 3000 or better. If you haven't got this graphic card, you can't use Final Cut Pro.
Also, note that it will work properly if you have a dedicated card, like the one that has got a 15-inch MacBook Pro

  • I have 23 inch Apple HD Display. Will this work with my MacBook Pro? How shall I connect it?

I have 23 inch Apple HD Display. Will this work with my MacBook Pro? How shall I connect it?

    yarova818,
there were two different 23-inch Apple Cinema HD displays made. The first one was made between 2002 and 2004, and has an ADC connector. The second one was made between 2004 and 2008, and has a DVI-D connector.
If you have the display with an ADC connector, then according to this Apple page, your display will work with your MacBook Pro if it’s a 13-inch or 15-inch model. If you have a first-generation MacBook Pro, you’d need an Apple DVI to ADC Adapter (or equivalent) to connect them. If you have a Unibody or Retina MacBook Pro, then you’d also need a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter (or equivalent) to complete the connection. A Retina model would also have the option of using a third-party HDMI to DVI-D adapter to complete the connection with the DVI to ADC adapter.
If you have the display with a DVI-D connector, then if you have a first-generation MacBook Pro, you should be able to plug it in directly. If you have a Unibody or Retina MacBook Pro, then the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter would let you make the connection. Again, Retina models also would have the option of using a third-party HDMI to DVI-D adapter.

  • How do i use my imac 21.5" 2011 as a display for my macbook pro late 2011, through thunderbolt cable ? I have tried and it doesnt seem to work, neither does target disk mode.

Could it be a borked cable ? I just bought it new from the store today, i have updated both imac and macbook pro to latest thunderbolt firmware and updates. Both 10.7.3.

You are correct, here is what Apple Says:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3775
I was able to find these instructions, however they referr to 2009-2011 27" iMacs. I think it's the same, if it's not then contact Apple directly for instructions. If either of the machines is less than 90 days old or covered by AppleCare then call AppleCare tomorrow for help, they should be able to easily answer this for you. You will find the number in your manual or you can use the AppleCare Contact Info link.
Your iMac should automatically recognize the presence of a digital video signal at the Mini DisplayPort and enter Target Display Mode.
If your iMac does not automatically enter Target Display Mode, press command + F2 to manually enter Target Display Mode.

  • Does airplay mirroring work on MacBook Pro late 2011 ( Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5)?

    Hi guys,
I would like to use airplay mirroring on apple tv (3rd generation) with my macbook pro late 2011, unfortunately the airplay option does not appear in the display preferences (see screenshot below). Did someone have this problem before? Please advise!
    Thank you!
    Tial

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 Your computer is compatible with AirPlay Mirroring, but you have to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion to get AirPlay Mirroring.
Make a Time Machine backup and/or a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. When the download finishes, the installer will appear, so follow the steps to upgrade. To turn on AirPlay Mirroring, select the AirPlay icon in the menu bar or open System Preferences > Displays

  • Will OS Mountain Lion slow down my MacBook Pro (Late 2011) running 10.7.5?

I have a Macbook Pro (Late 2011) that is currently running OS Lion 10.7.5. I was just wondering if updating to OS Mountain Lion would slow it down in terms of performance, or if it will have any other bugs on my MacBook?
PS. When updating to a different OS, do I have to back up my files to like a hard drive or something?

When updating to a different OS, do I have to back up my files to like a hard drive or something?
A back up is a precaution that you should always have, not just when installing an update to the OS. Its purpose is no different from the seat belt you wear when you drive. Use it all the time, and hope it will never be really necessary.

It may well be a driver issue but considering the loading: Xorg trying to load different drivers is somewhat normal. @cafe you can see that these are autoconfigured by X above the loading in the log:
    Jul 20 19:48:24 arch gdm-Xorg-:0[216]: (==) Matched intel as autoconfigured driver 0
    Jul 20 19:48:24 arch gdm-Xorg-:0[216]: (==) Matched intel as autoconfigured driver 1

    Jul 20 19:48:24 arch gdm-Xorg-:0[216]: (==) Matched vesa as autoconfigured driver 4
As long as one of the drivers gets loaded, which it apparently does the failing of the others is fine.
Was there an update maybe ?

  • Will this work on my Macbook Pro 13" (Early 2011)

I was looking for a game to play on my Macbook Pro and I was wondering if Call of Duty 2 would work on it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ETJJAE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i02 I I am running Lion 10.7.4. I actually already bought this product but hesitant on opening it because I have read a few reviews of people having problem with it. I also went to the Aspyr website. http://www.aspyr.com/games/call-of-duty-2 I'll return it to Amazon if it doesn't work. Please help!

    Try different USB cables.
    Try a different enclosure.
    Try all USB ports.
    Try it on another Mac.
Is no success, the SSD may be DOA.
    Ciao.

  • Macbook Pro (late 2011) w/Samsung LCD (2011)

I want to connect my new MBP 15" to my Samsung LCD.  After reading so many manuals/forums, I am unsure if the two are compatible.  If I bought a display port to HDMI adpator will that work or should I buy a mini display port to DVI adaptor and would I need a sound cable as well?  I am wanting to play movies from my external drive connected to my MBP (using Plex) on my HDTV.  All advice and opinions are welcomed!!  Thanks.

You will need a Mini DP to HDMI connector and an HDMI cable.  See attached:
    http://store.apple.com/us/search?find=hdmi
You can also use the Kanex Mini Display Port to HDMI Cable.
This assumes you have a 2011 MBP.  A 2010 MBP will need separate audio connections.
    No DVI connectors are required.
    Ciao.
