Samsung series 5 and sound

Having issue with sound. Configuration:
Uverse cable box has hdmi cable to Denon avr 2307ci
Hdmi from Denon to Hdmi 1 in tv
Have a fiber optic sound cable from tv to Denon
Issue is that I can get either cable sound or smart tv app sound (like Netflix) but not both
On Denon, when I select hdmi as the tv input, I get the cable sound. When I select optical input I get the smart tv apps
Have tv set to use external speakers.
Help!!

Not really understanding here....the receiver is working as it should.
Your cable box and apps from your smart TV occupy different inputs on your Denon receiver. One is plugged in in via HDMI (the cable) and the other is plugged in via optical (smart apps). Naturally, you're going to have to change the input on your Denon receiver in order to get sound output from either device. There's nothing wrong here, that's the way it's supposed to be.
If you're aiming to NOT have to switch inputs on the 2307CI, then you can connect it like so:
1) Remove the HDMI cable that goes form the Denon receiver to the TV.
2)Plug the cable box directly into the TV via HDMI.
3) Leave the optical cable plugged in from your Samsung's audio out into the Denon's optical in.
4) Leave the Denon on the optical input and you will get sound from the built-in TV apps or your cable. You will still have to switch your TV to the appropriate HDMI input when watching cable via this method.
BUT....
if you have a surround sound setup connected to your Denon AVR (typically five speakers and a subwoofer or more), please note that if you connect your cable box via the above method, then any sound from an external device (like your cable box) will downmixed to 2-channel stereo. This means that only your left and right speakers will be active when watching cable, possibly your subwoofer too, depending on how your receiver's crossover settings are configured. But no sound will be output from your center channel or surround channels.
if you have a 5.1 speaker setup, the way you have it connected currently is preferable.

    Hi,
i get my W520 last week with an normal SATA 500 GB Drive, at home i changed it to a Samsung Series 830 SSD SATA III (256GB) and install windows 7 64bit pro via recovery media.
I was wondering, startup was taking very long .... from starting windows to the logon screen 1.45 minutes ... Now i tried a new recovery, same issue, tested the harddisk which is in good state.
I changed back to the 500GB Drive, startup take only 30 seconds around....
    Are there any known issues?

I have a samsung scx 4100 series and i just updated to mountain lion and now i keep getting a "filter failed" error, anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix it.

Hi again, when you clicked on Mountain Lion and Lion in the App Store you are telling the laptop to reinstall them both.
You may have allowed simutanious downloads checked at the bottom of the window, I don't know, but I expect Mountain Lion is downloading, so Lion is waiting for it to finish, so if you have Mountain Lion installed cancel both download's.
    Cancell both downloads anyway.
Go to the apple logo , top left, click on it, then click on about this mac, a window will open telling you what's installed,  Mountain Lion is OX 10 version 10.8.2 click on more info, to find out more, Lion will be OX10 version 10.7.4.
Only update were it say's check for updates, not download now.

  • Connecting my Late 2009 Macbook to a Samsung Series 5 TV

So I'm trying to connect my Late 2009 Macbook upto my Series 5 Samsung TV and I've stumbled across a bit (a lot!) of difficulty.
I have the picture coming through perfectly on my MiniDisplayport to HDMI connection but I can't for the life of me work out how to get the sound through as well. I have literally every cable at my disposal at the minute, RCA to audio, optical with a TOSlink connector and a standard 3.5mm audio cable. I assumed the optical to TOSlink connector would be my best option but no such look, I've tried every combination I can think of. Whenever I connect the TOSlink connector in, the sound icon greys out immediately and my TV doesn't appear in the Output list.
I'm really hoping somebody would be able to help me out, I'm fast running out of options, something I thought might be a good idea is quickly turning into a bit of a pain...

The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
Check your TV manual though to see if it might have audio plugs that work with one of the HDMI ports. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate audio input plugs on your TV.
If you have the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody or Late 2009 model 6,1 White Unibody with the Mini DisplayPort rather than the Mini-DVI there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

  • Samsung - Series 5 NP530U3C

I am looking at the Samsung Series 5 NP530U3C as a replacement for my current laptop.
    http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/lapt … 0U3C-A01US
Some of the specs are as below:
    Intel® Core™ i5-3317U Processor
    4GB DDR3 Memory
500 GB  HDD with ExpressCache™ Technology, 24 GB
    Intel® HD Graphics 4000
I would like to know if anyone here has this laptop and whether everything works ok, if not what did you need to tweak to get things started?
I intend to take this one to college so dose anyone know how long the battery will last for(i'm looking for a minimum of 3 hours under load)?
Further can I wipe windows off the express cache and use it as a /boot partition?
Love to hear from anyone who has one of these laptops and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
    edit:
I have heard that the ExpressCache can be used to mount a /boot partition but also that it is prone to failure and the SSD chip which is soldered onto the motherboard fails rather quickly

  • How do I connect my Samsung Series 8000 plasma tv to my 27" imac

How do I connect my Samsung Series 8000 plasma tv to my 27" imac (2.8 GHz Intel Core i7) to use as a display?

Here you go (no financial or other interest in this web site or company):
    http://www.kanexlive.com/iadapt51
I believe we have the same model of iMac (late 2009) in which unfortunately Apple did not provide audio signals in the mini-DisplayPort out port.  This Kanex adapter will pick up your audio as well as the DisplayPort signal and combine them in an HDMI signal that you plug into the Samsung HDTV.

  • Mini Mac + DVI - VGA + Samsung Serie 6 40 inch

    Hey peeps,
    Now this is my proplem:
I have connected my Mini Mac with (VGA) the Samsung Serie 6. When I start the system up,I get the white screen with the logo of Apple and the running circle. When he's done loading the screen goes black with a message the cable is not wright. But he gives the startup screen???
Does someone know a solution for this problem ?
    Many thanks
Hope you guys can help me !

I can't solve your entire problem, but I can give you a piece or two of the answer:
    1) If you hold down the Shift key during startup, you should boot into "safe mode". This "safe mode" should be able to put a non-black picture up on your TV. It won't be pretty, but at least you can then use the Mac to do trouble-shooting.
    2) Your TV is probably not successfully transmitting its identity through the VGA-DVI converter to the Mac. Hopefully if you go to System Preferences > Displays, you will be able to enter display settings that will work.
    3) If this doesn't work, you may have to use a special utility like SwitchXRes to set up a custom "timing" for you TV and Mac. (Can't help you there.) The posts of BSteely will be useful in learning about this:

  • Z-Series and Hardware Off-loading?

I consider that the audio hardware off-loading feature for Windows 8 truelly is a correction for sad software mixer in Windows Vista and Seven.
Hardware based enginering produce a clear superior sound in audio cards.
DirectSound hardware based soundcards (aka Live, Audigy and X-Fi series) really sound better in Windows XP, but in later versions of this OS the sound is someway artificial. It's different and less enjoyable for me.
The Z-series were built following Windows 7's standars. Will they be truelly capable for hardware off-loading?
    OR
Do we have to wait a new Sound Blaster generation again?
A driver update for PCI-XFI and Titatium is posible or convenient?
    Sorry for my english.

Admittedly my tests were not exactly the most typical (an i7 2600K running at 4.2GHz, comparing a PCI X-Fi to a PCIe Recon3D - though I did drop the i7 to a single "core" out of curiosity), I found that the Recon performed about the same as the X-Fi at low voice counts, then proceeded to open up a 20% lead by 60 voices (3DMark 03 doesn't go higher than that). Unfortunately I wasn't able to compare it to a "pure" software setup as not-loading ALchemy caused the tests to fail entirely due to the lack of hardware audio.
That's not to say that hardware offloading couldn't be faster still, but the comparison to older hardware (X-Fis) is not favourable to the idea.
I don't believe that testing in Windows Vista, Seven o Windows 8.0 could really give us faithfull results, simply because they don't have true hardware acceleration. Recond3d or Z Series of audio cards are not slower or faster than its predecesors or even other trademarks because the mix is made in software all the time.
When you see those Recon3D and Z-Series boards they look "empty", sad, a lack of elements, electronic elements, because they don't need them. The Quad-Core audio processor that those cards only accelerates the THX Studio something software.
Swapping channels is a common error on those three generations: X-FI, Recon3D and Z. I need an explanation. I believe that is a full software error.

  • Have a Sony Viao E series and get an "imcompatible display driver" error message

Get an "Incompatible Display Driver" error message when attempting to use Adobe Premiere Elements 12 on a Sony Vaio E series laptop.
    How to solve this problem?
    Thanks

I Googled, and Sony says that is a discontinued model, so I can't find a specification page
Amazon does have a couple models, and BOTH say motherboard integrated Intel graphics adapter
That makes me think the laptop discussed here has Intel AND AMD graphics adapters

  • Samsung Serie 850 EVO, will it work on my macbook pro late 2011?

  • Sony X85C - Bravia Sync Issue with Samsung Homecinema and WD Live Box

Hello  I purchased the 2015 4k Sony TV X85c line, its the 55" with Model Nr: KD55X8507C (silver bezel). The latest Android TV version from mid July is installed and the TV is working fine - except for the interaction with my 2 other components:- a Western Digital Live streaming player box- a Samsung Homecinema HT-D6750W  I knew i could run into problems when mixing up brands, but the issue now is really bugging me: The Samsung homecinema is connected via the HDMI 4 ARC to the Sony TV. The Westen Digital is connected to the homecinema. All devices are HDMI CEC compatible, thus on the Sony I can see the other devices and even control them with the Sony remote - which "concept wise" is really neat, but something is failing.  It seems that the Sony trys constantly to switch between audio system (Samsung) and its own TV speakers when choosing how to deliver the sound. This somehow interfers with the menu dialogs of the Sony. As soon as I connect the Samsung Homecinema and go into the display menu to change image settings / modes it the menu will crash after some seconds (it just fades away). This does not happen when the homecinema is not connected, but then of course im missing the sound of my homecinema.  So there seems to be a certain interference and I assume it could be because of the constant audio switching between TV and audio system. I already tried to deactivate all HDMI-CEC features on the devices, but for the Sony TV's bravia sync its impossible to deactivate fully (the menu is just greyed and "on").  I'm getting some new and state of the art HDMI cables later this day, maybe this will bring a positive effect. Anyone experiences something similiar with the X85C range of products? Is there a way to handle it? ThanksAndre / xenom0rph

I "solved" the problem: Bravia Sync does not seem to be compatible with HDMI CEC / Anynet of the Samsung homecinema. I deactivated all HDMI CEC features on the samsung player and the WD TV Live box, and then the deactivation of bravia sync was possible on the TV. After that the issue with the menu crashes was gone. Now i try to get digital audio with optical to the samsung player. So i connected optical out from the Sony TV to the optical in of the player. There are different settings to be made in the sonys audio menu now which I'm still not sure what to do. It has different compression modes for the audio (auto 1, auto 2, pcm). PCM seems to work for most digital audio content, but i fear DTS is not supported by the Sony. I tried the XBMC Kodi Android App on the Sony TV and got digital audio on some movies, but not all of em....not sure if its an app or TV problem.  Oh well..for the moment i stay with the WD live streaming box which supports all audio formats and is connected via HDMI to the player, but its just a very slow cpu in there, so it would be cool to use the more powerful TV as streaming player.

  • Time Capsule e Samsung serie 9000 con modem alice

Salve, ho acquistato una TC da 2 Tb, l'ho collegata in modalità bridge al mio modem alice, adesso vorrei che il mio televisore Samsung serie 9000 la leggesse per poter vedere video, foto, etc su di essa. Come fare?

I would suggest you visit an Apple dealer, preferably an Apple Store if there's one in your city, and ask for assistance in determining what you need. The questions and issues you bring up are rather complex to address in a technical support forum and would be better addressed in person where you and the salesperson can ask questions back and forth to arrive at the optimal setup.

  • Stereo speakers mod for ALL apps and sounds

    Hi Sony Community,
I want ask you if there is a mod without root to use the speakers of my Xperia Z2 on stereo for ALL apps, calls and sounds (system and not system).
I found very bad that Sony hasn't optimize Android 5 with this feature because the speakers of Xperia Z2 are very beautiful and functional, better than Z3, but without stereo output are very limited and reduce the potential of this smartphone!
The stereo front speakers of Xperia are one of the GREAT and BEST design features against ALL Samsung and Apple devices, so I don't understand why Sony use they on stereo to give us a powerful and especially COMPLETE sound output
I hope in a future implemention of this setting into next firmware update, but now I will very haapy if there is a sostitutive mod to force to use speakers o stereo for ALL.
Every answers are welcome to me!
    Cheers
    Solved!

No problem.. It's as safe as any modification of software I guess. I have never had any issues, but yes I'm sure just rooting the device will not lose your drm keys. You only lose drm keys when unlocking the bootloader which I do not feel comfortable doing.
There's a full tutorial on XDA on how to do this. To sum it up, you pretty much have to downgrade in order to root and have custom recovery, then flash a pre-rooted stock rom. This will give you 100% stock experience, but with root added. Then you can choose which mods, etc you like to flash like the one mentioned above.
It doesn't require too much knowledge, and isn't too complicated, but I'd still recommend reading up on it a lot before doing it, just in case anything happens. I always make sure I read instructions in full at least 3 or 4 times to feel comfortable.

  • Samsung -Series 7 NP700Z5C

I am looking at the Samsung Series 7 NP700Z5C as a replacement for my current laptop.
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+1 … Id=5575679
Some of the specs are as below:
    Intel® Core™ i7-3615QM Processor
    8GB DDR3 Memory
1TB HDD with ExpressCache Technology, 8GB(I believe this is a 8 GB SSD on the motherbord)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 M Graphics
I would like to know if anyone here has this laptop and whether everything works ok, if not what did you need to tweak to get things started?
Here are a few questions i have:
    - How long dose the battery last for?
    - Can I run the Intel 4000 graphics processor inbuilt in the processor instead of the NVIDIA card to save on battery performance?
    - Can I mount the 8GB SSD as a /boot or a swap partition?
    - I've heard a lot of complaints of similar laptops lacking multi-touch trackpad support on some kernel versions, dose the stock arch kernel include support for this?
Love to hear from anyone who has one of these laptops and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

I have the previous NP700Z5A model of that laptop and so far am pretty happy with it. The main difference is the older generation CPU and a ATI video card.
    - Battery life is pretty good 4-5 hours without anymore tweaking then installing the samsung-tools packages from the AUR (Windows gets 7-8 hours when not using the discrete graphics)
    - I have not managed to get the ATI video card working and have to blacklist it's module to turn it off for power savings (The intel video card provides decent performance though)
    - Must install samsung-tools for many of the powersaving features to work (also allows the multimedia keys to work)
    - I have not tried to use the 8 GD SSD in linux yet but it appears as a normal drive so I would think it should work
    - The elan touchpad works great including multi-touch support but does require additional setup to get working correctly (there is a guide on the wiki)
