Samsung  SGH-a437 Connectivity

Hello All,
I can not "see" my new phone from the bluetooth configuration utility. The phone is on and bluetooth is enabled and discoverable. I have had no problem in the past with my Sony Ericson phone.
I did see an outdated post when I searched which referenced modem scripts, but this provided no assistance. Also, since that thread was archived I could not reply to it.
The Samsung FAQ page indicates that the only profiles supported are HFP (handsfree profile) and HSP (headset profile). Could this be the issue?
Bottom line - is there anything I can do to to access the file system like I should be able to on this phone to enable iSync?
Thanks all,
Jon

The Samsung FAQ page indicates that the only profiles supported are HFP (handsfree profile) and HSP (headset profile). Could this be the issue?
Yes. The phone would need to have the OBEX File Transfer profile for accessing files.
Bottom line - is there anything I can do to to access the file system like I should be able to on this phone to enable iSync?
No, that phone is not iSync compatible because Samsung chose not to include SyncML support in it.

  • Samsung SGH-d807 Bluetooth connection help

I just recently bought a new Samsung SGH-d807 phone and was wanting to use Bluetooth to connect it to my iBook so I could transfer .mp3's to use as ringtones, among other things. To do this, I had to go out and buy a Bluetooth adapter so that my iBook would be able to connect to Bluetooth devices. I realize that the DLink adapter is the one officially supported by Apple, but the only one I could find around town was the Targus USB Bluetooth Adapter - Class 2 (ACB10). The packaging said it was supported by OS X 10.4 so I figured it was worth a shot. I plugged the adapter in and my iBook seems to recognize it without any problems, but I've tried to have my iBook find my new Samsung phone and it can't. I've got the phone's Bluetooth turned on and made sure that it's discoverable by other devices.
I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone out there with this phone has had the same problem, or if anyone can give me any suggestions or anything like that. Any help would be great.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Solved the problem myself. Took the Targus adapter back and found one made by IOGear for about half the price that seems to work like a charm.

    18. What is the maximum resolution available for use with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter?
The resolution available with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter is 1920 x 1200. VGA displays that use higher refresh rates (such as 85 Hz) at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater may not generate video properly until you lower the refresh rate.

    How can I detect displays?
If the detect displays option is not available, hold down the Option key while you are in the Display pane.
How do I select additional resolutions on my display?
You can use the Display pane of System Preferences to specify how your display works. Not all options appear for all display models. By default the best resolution for your display will already be selected in System Preferences.
To select a different resolution, use the Scaled option. Some additional resolutions may be available when you hold the Option button.
I hope this information helps ....

  • Help on readubg .pdfs for Samsung SGH ZX20

...so I bought this beefed up phone, the Samsung SGH ZX20
with the 1Gg microSD card and USB transfer cable and see I may be
S.O.L. on one of my desires to view .pdf files directly upon my
phone. My question before I rant in another direction is:
Can I install FlashLite 2.0 upon my phone myself? Noticed
only Verizon has capability offered across certain phones but I am
locked into Cingular. Must I wait for Cingular and Samsung to
integrate into some future firmware after more defined contractual
agreements get made? Please don't say it is...
Before trying anything on own and messing up anything, I
thought I would explore my DIY ability to transfer and install such
SW on my phone or find out if there is anything targeted for
release with this phone. Eyeballing the Samsung product
compatibility page under a link I pulled from this form only lists
one freakin' model...the SCH-A950. I don't get the sense this page
is updated too frequently so can someone upon this forum lend some
kind assistance involving the SGH ZX20? Much oblidged!!!
Time to now digress and rant about the feature holes of
    todays mobile technology...
While I figured out things so I can convert and view my tech
training videos to this phone, I seek some means to enable my
viewing of .pdf files. Hoping for some means to see a rolling text
of content. Don't care much about graphics or pretty fonts, just my
ability to be more productive during the lull or down moments at or
in between youth sporting events. Yes, I know the viewing on a
small screen will be more limited but the mobility and extreme
portability of 1 gadget versus many motivates me to walk along the
bleeding edge until things are bundled in a way for a serious
working professional seeking a life balance versus the crap that
such resources are focussed upon now (i.e. games, music, etc.).
Hope to see integrated eyewear around corner to better view
such content that's tied to my present phone's memory.
Hey, its great to make money off the teenage or the
I_Never_Want2_Grow_Up market but how about some serious mobile
applications too and make them more readily available? Geez, I got
features like "controlled" shopping, IM, right on the top menu but
NO ability to pick-n-choose my own menu choices along with their
priority/hierarachy. Personally, alarms and schedules rate
    higher...
Since Samsung does not appear to have a forum structured like
this, I hope OEMs like them or service carriers may see my post
here and be more ballast with what exiciting new features they
envision are can start targeting to deploy within the
marketplace...these providers would then capture my Quan and $$$.

    my
    post here.

    Hi lexdabear ,
It Seems Youve Mistaken .I have successfully written data to the mifare section of Samsung SGHx700 n series phone
using an external reader (Pegoda and PN531).The real problem was to write some data to the internal Mifare of Samsung SGH X700 N by using a midlet present inside the same phone .But now I have found out the solution and implemented it successfully.

  • Samsung brightside not connecting to computer properly.

I am trying to get my samsung brightside to connect to my computer for data transfer and can't seem to get it to connect. I plug it in and it goes to charging mode, this is telling me that 1 my cable is good and 2 my ports on my computer are good (I also plug it into another computer and it does the same thing). I checked the USB Mode in settings >USB Mode and made sure it says USB Mass Storage still nothing. I also made sure that im on the "home" screen when im plugged in. the last thing I should mention is that this has worked before.

I must not be clear enough in my description as to what is going on. Or you guys don't understand windows all that much. when you plug in any memory device you are able to see the device in "My computer"
as shown below (shown with one of my flash drives)
now when I plug my phone in having it on USB Mass storage as advised here (your site's instructions where down when I posted this) the phone is not showing up in the screen above as shown below. my phone is only charging when plugged into my computer. and I have plugged it into different computers with the same results.
How can I fix this so I can get at the micro SD card that I do have inserted and to be able to see the Phone again.

  • How do I connect a Samsung SGH-D407 with the I phone

Is this possible? It is discovering the devices but not connecting. Please help I'd like to get the photos off my Samsung but don't have any other way of doing so.

    Hey there!
The iPhone's Bluetooth cannot be used for sending and receiving files. :(!!
It can only be used for Bluetooth headsets unfortunately.
This is obviously because Apple does not want people to send copyrighted iTunes songs/videos.
Even if the files you want to send are yours, and have nothing to do with iTunes, like your SGH-D407 photos, the Bluetooth will not work.
You should try to send your Samsung's photos to your computer.
And if you want them on your iPhone, put those photos on iPhoto and sync them onto your iPhone.
    Good Luck!

  • Speckles on external Samsung Display when connected to my Macbook Pro

When I connect my MacBook Pro to my Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM monitor via a mini display port DVI adapter, I get loads of speckles on the display. They vary in colour depending on the display colour and are driving me mad!
Webcam video of this effect here http://gallery.me.com/wildj/100399
Doesn't do it when connected via the VGA adapter.
Anyone else had any problems like this?
    Jim

I have exactly the same issue - just got my brand new apple adapter, and to my great disappointment the monitor just blinks. It is the same monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM. The cables seem to be right - single link DVI-D cables, I tried three of them, one of them actually produced what could be considered a picture - but it is not usable - blinking and shaking. VGA adaptor works fine. I was hoping to get better quality with DVI, but it seems to be not possible in my setup. To add to it, I have another two Samsung monitors - 2232GW, and 245T - the same issue. Could the adaptor be faulty? Though it doesn't seem to be the case, as there are a lot of posts about this problem.

  • Samsung TV wifi connection speed to HH3

Having issues connecting to my NAS media content from my TV via the HHS - when i check in the HH home network connected divices it shows my TV as connected via wifi at 1mbps... all my other devices are hitting in excess of 60mbs to the hub. However when i open a browser on the TV itself and check on speedtest.net i get around 9mbps (although I get 30+mbps on ipad right next to TV)... Is there any settings in the HH itself to allocate bandwidth or improve the connection to the TV or is it more likely to be an issue at the TV's side? Not sure if it is just the HH and Samsung don;t like each other? The frustrating thing is it plays VoD/iplayer HD with no lag at all (I'm on infinity2) so I can;t see it being a bandwidth issue
Anyone elese had issues with samsung TVs and the HH?

  • Airport express  and printer samsung ml 1670 connection problem

    Hallo.
I'm trying to set up my printer Samsung ML-1670 on my network linking it directly on my Airport Express Base Station.
I've already tried the printer connecting it directly to my pc via usb port and it works. The Bonjour software recognize it correctly and install it on my pc. When I print the error message is: "The Port is not connected. Check it."
I've already tried to check the windows firewall settings to be sure the port is open. I switched it off to be sure but no changes.
I've tried the configuration via "add printer" feature directly, via Bonjour: no result.
Furthermore my iPhone doesn't see the printer as well, even if connected to the base and switched on.
    Any help?
    Thanks in advance.
    Claudio

Bonjour is the new name for Rendezvous.
    10.3 still refers to Rendezvous.
