Samsung soundbare

i have a samsung 55" LCD, model 630, which we love.  looking to add adding a samsung soundbar. Doe anyone know the diff between models HW C450 and the HW C451?  Also, will the soundbar connect directly to my tv or does it go to my Comcast cable box?

I hope before you took Jen's advice you did a bit more research. Which is really bad considering it seems like Jen is a BB employee based on other posts with bad information. Sorry to call you out like that Jen. But you should ALWAYS have your facts straight before lending information that would cause someone to spend their hard earned cash.
Not all TV's do a full pass-through via the optical out. If your 55" 630 is anything like the 40" 630 that I used to own then yours doesn't. While most tv's do have a optical out connect, it is generally used for your OTA (over the air) digital audio out.
From a quick look, it seems the Samsung unit has 2 optical inputs. So without a optical audio switch of some sort, you can run two sources into the soundbar (like your comcast box and a blu-ray player or 360 or PS3). So to answer your question it would connect to your comcast box, NOT the TV.
Are you stuck on the Samsung? Based on reviews it does have decent Sound Quality, but the lack of connectivity is pretty sad.
The best "bang for the buck" when it comes to soundbars are the offerings from Sony. The HT-CT150 sounds great and the connectivity it has is pretty amazing for the price you pay. You can generally find them on sale for $250 (BB had it on sale for that price). There is also the HT-CT100 (last years model) and the HT-CT350 (nearly identical to the CT150 just with more power).
They all have HDMI inputs (3), optical inputs, analog RCA. So if you have say your cablebox, a xbox 360 and a ps3 and if they all support HDMI. You would run one HDMI cable from each "source" to the sony soundbar. And then take a single HDMI out of the soundbar to your TV.
I have both the HT-CT150 and 100. If you have any more specific questions regarding them just let me know.

  • Samsung sound bar connection

Is it possible to connect a samsung sound bar and a headphones set to the back of the Samsung TV?  I can only find one audio input.  I called the Samsung tech service people and was told quickly that it cannot be done.  So how can I have both the sound bar and the headphones connected?

No you cannot plug the Samsung soundbar and headphones into most TV's together. You don't state whether you have normal headphopnes or wireless or a model, nor do you mention the model of your TV.
The soundbar assuming the model you have uses an optical output, and we will assume you are using a headphone mini cable. When the headphones are plugged in should take priority over the soundbar.
Give me the models of the tv, soundbar, what kind of headphones, and the devices going to the tv so we can help.
Now some TV's from Samsung like the LED's have a headphone output. The matching soundbar does have a headphone input. You could plug the soundbar to the tv via that and have the headphones in at the same time. See tv out below and the splitter

  • Quantum TV, no sound from sound bar

I have a harmon kardon SB16 sound bar, connected via fiber to my Sony W850B TV. I just got the new 6 show dvr, connected to the tv via hdmi. My Roku and BluRay play sound just fine, but the Verizon box gives me nothing. All cables are known working. I've swapped all cables  (known working to the Verizon box and vice versa) and nothing changes. The things that work still work, and the Verizon box does not.
    Any help?
    Thanks!

I am having the same problem with my new Media Server DVR unit. My DR is connected to the TV with HDMI and the TV is connected to the soundbar with an Optical cable. My DVD player is also connected to the TV by HDMI.
I get sound from the soundbar from the DVD player but not from the new Media Server DVR.  (FYI - My old verizon DVR box works with the soundbar using the same connections).
Verizon told me to use the same suggestion as above by holding the 'D' or 'B' key on the remote to access the DVR menu. I set the HDMI output as directed and still no sound from the Samsung soundbar.
    Any other Ideas?

  • HT204368 iPod Touch not pairing with a device, when it did yesterday

I was able to connect my iPod Touch to my Samsung soundbar yesterday via Bluetooth. However, today I am having problems. the iPod recognizes my device but when I try to connect it keeps saying "connection unsuccessful, make sure device is turned on and in range". I reset my network settings and even reset all settings on my iPod. I turned it off and back on, turned the Samsung soundbar off and on and still no luck. I have an iPhone as well and that bluetooth is connecting successfully to the soundbar everytime. When I try to connect the iPod, I make sure my iPhone bluetooth is turned off. I just keep getting the same message everytime, that the connection is unsuccessful and it is driving me crazy! Is anyone else having this problem? My software is completely up to date and it is fully charged. Again, it was working just yesterday.

Thank you for your response. How do I unpair? When I click on the device the only option is "forget this device". There is not an option to unpair.
    forget this device
and at Samsung end power off ,unplug what ever to kill circuits of bluetooth

  • Panasonic TC-P50S2 In need of HELP

    HI ALL-
I received Sony MDRRF970RK wireless headphones. It seems my TV has no headphone jack. I've been using a Samsung Soundbar HW-C450
I tried plugging the headphones into that jack & they didn't work. I talked to someone at Panasonic & he said  "i need a optical to analog adapter
with dolby decoder something or other i have no idea what that means".
I would appreciate any help in figuring this out.
Thanks in advance for your help
    Audra

They can vary greatly but most do the same thing, check the following link for a good selection. Also consider whether or not you need to go to a dolby digital 5.1 compatible if you will only be using it for headphones, one that expensive may not be necessary.

  • Amazon Price Match

    Hello,
I'm trying to match the following Samsung soundbar. I followed the phone rep's instructions in copying the BBY Item Specs>UPC and pasting it into Amazon's search bar, which produces {removed per forum guidelines} There's only one item, sold by and fulfilled by Amazon, but they won't show the price unless you add it to your cart.
Amazon states since they are selling at less than MSRP, they reserve the right to hide the price until added to cart (not a binding purchase), which obviously is a very common industry tactic. The BBY rep told me that she has no ability to add it to a cart and have an account to view the price, so am I basically being told BBY won't match a price because they're 1) Unable to make their own accounts to follow up a price check because of some ridiculous corporate firewall that prohibits all cookies and external site login abilities, or 2) Unwilling to make their own accounts to honor a price match?
This seems like a really straightforward case. BBY is selling for $179.99 . Amazon is selling for $157.14. That'd be pretty lousy/lazy customer service to tell me BBY isn't willing to take simple steps to truly wow their customer base and add an item to a cart and have an account to view a price.
I want to keep my money in the BBY family. Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Hello ciege77,
Welcome to the forum. I'm always on the lookout for a good deal, and if my favorite store offers price matching, then I will definitely take advantage of it when the item I want to purchase qualifies. We are always happy to offer our loyal customers like you our price match guarantee, and I'm very sorry if the agent you spoke to made ordering your Samsung soundbar a frustrating experience.
There are some conditions that must be met in order to qualify for a price match, and it sounds like the Samsung soundbar you are trying to order meets those conditions, but there are a few more details I would like to discuss with you; therefore, I will be sending you a private message. Unable to play video onto my Samsung LCD TV when using a Memorex Mini Soundbar MA5004. Anyone can help?

Does anything go to the TV? Like can you hear audio?
    Dod it ever work?
Does it work with other display devices?
You are using an app that supports TV out?
What does the soudbar have to do with it?

  • How to interface SC-HT800v Panasonic Home Theater with New Samsung LED/LCD 6500 series TV

I don't see how the 14 pin cable coming out of the subwoofer will connect to the new TV or our new Blue Ray player Samsung BD-C5500.  We currently have no receiver since that was in the Panasonic VCR/DVD that we have abandoned.  Can you confirm this & also offer a suggestion of a new home theater system?  Thanks, Susan

Buy a Samsung Home Theater soundbar system. That will fit your needs perfectly not to mention you will be able to control your TV, Blu-Ray, and the sound system with a single remote control.

  • Samsung HLN4365WX Audio out

I would like to hook up external speakers/soundbar to subj TV, the instruction manual is very vague, rear jack Vidio/Audio Monitor Output says "Sends a vidio signal from the TV to an external source, such as a VCR" , RCA  jacks 1. vidio out 2. Right out, 3 Left out.
Now my question, can receiver to speakers or soundbar be hooked to thr Right and Left Audio out RCA jacks?
    Thank's for you advice/help.

I have firmware 2.2.1, so that's not it.....I know there's a sticker that says it will be fully functional after the release of Android 2.2. But the phone came to me with 2.2.1 installed, and I did check for an update just to be sure, and was told there wasn't one.
I have a vehicle dock, model ECS-M985BE. I'm trying to use the audio out port with a wired headset. I get no sound thru the headset at all, though the headset works fine when the phone is not hooked up to the dock. I've tried multiple headsets/earphones, and I also had Verizon send me a new dock in case there was something wrong with my first one. Nothing's solved it. I called Samsung directly, but after they wanted to transfer me for the fifth time, and I'd been on the phone a total of a half hour, I couldn't handle it anymore.
I've tried using it in "car mode" and out of "car mode." When in "car mode," if I pick the phone icon, it tells me to "connect the external speaker to the accessory." But it doesn't recognize the headset when I plug it in. If I have the headset plugged in and then pick the phone icon, it still gives me the message to connect the external speaker.
In all of these instances, I can hear the call through the phone earpiece, and can turn on the speaker and hear it there as well - as if there is no earpiece connected at all. But I get no beeps or any other indication a device has been plugged in.....but, I don't get that when the phone is off the dock and I plug in the headset, either, so.....
Anyone have any ideas or input? The only thing I've tried was suggested by the first person I talked to at Samsung: download any free car dock app. That didn't help either.
I would also check with your local law enforcement, as I know wearing a headset during driving is illegal in some states. It prevents the driver from hearing emergency sirens, etc.

  • Samsung smartTV connection problem

I´m trying to connect my new Samsung smart TV (UE7005D7005) to my Airport Extreme Base station and I can connect it to the guestnetwork without a problem but I can´t connect it to the main network. The TV can see it and try to connect and enter the passkey but it will not connect, I tried to use both WPA2 personal and WPA/WPA2 personal.
I want it to connect it to the main network to get access to my NAS (readynasduo) and I don´t get access to it trough the guestnetwork.
Would really appriciate if someone has a solution.
    Thanks in advance!

Ok, if I bypass the HDMI ARC (which is the 2nd input on my Samsung TV) Should I put it in the 1st input which is HDMI STB (and its sticker is bright yellow?) Then my soundbar should work on what source??
The TV & soundbar are the only things I have hooked up besides the DVR from Brighthouse. Every time I turn everything on, if I want to watch regular TV, I have to quickly switch the soundbar input to HDMI or the screen is blank. Once all is on & I hit the Smarthub to watch Netflix, the soundbar works but switches to TV ARC. Thanks for all your help!!!

  • LG Plasma with a Samsung Sound Bar

    Hi,
We just purchased a LG plasma TV and we already have a Samsung Sound bar. We are having trouble hooking up the sound bar to the TV. Does it have to be connected through optical part or can we connect it through a HDMI?
    I hope someone can help!

I don't think your tv has an Audio Return Channel (ARC) but it depends on the model you bought. Not sure which Samsun soundbar you have but 450 doesn't have HDMI on it and I'm not sure if the 550 soundbar is capable of an ARC HDMi connection.  Either way your best bet is to just use an optical cable. In the LG menu just tell the TV your using external speakers so it will use the sound bar only.

  • Samsung Home theater with dvd player want to upgrade to wireless - what's best?

    Hi-
I have a Samsung home theater system with 5 disc dvd changer and the rear speakers are hard wired.  Should I upgrade to the "bar" system with no rear speakers.  Is that type of system better audio quality.  Any suggestions?

By eliminating the rears, you will not have the same immersive experience. The sound/tonal qualities of a soundbar can be very good.
I don't know if a bar is an "upgrade", unless you consider simplifying your setup a step in the right direction. Bars have become popular for their relatively decent sound, while being extremely easy to implement into any situation.
