Samsung SyncMaster 910T work on new mini?

Hi,
I want to buy a new mac mini but I heard my monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 910T) doesn't work with the new mini.
Anybody know if it will work?
thank you in advance!

That monitor came out over 5 years ago and if it does not work you could purchase a much larger monitor for a lower price than what it sold for back then.

i got new mini mac and mail not working. i get this message.
You have Mail version 4.2 (1078/1084). It can’t be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 (Build 10K549). For more information, click the Help button.
    dont know what to do
    thanks

Should be Mail 4.5.  With Spotlight, check to see if you have more than one version of the Mail app onboard.  Also, make sure that there is one at the root level of the Applications folder, and that it is namely simply Mail before applying the Combo.

  • Monitor not working with new mini

I just bought a non-intel mini. I have a Princeton 17" crt monitor that is only a few years old. I used the included adapter, but my monitor is not recognizing the mini. Any ideas?

You might consider carefully reflashing the bios.  Did you follow all of the correct flashing steps the last time about clearing cmos and rebooting into optimized defaults, etc.?  See:  https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=84865.msg606175#msg606175
Also- consider flashing back to 1.8 as there is little if anything in 1.9 for your processor, and it worked in 1.8 didn't it?
I used MSI Live Update 3 and Live BIOS to update my bios. After the update I chose "Yes" to reboot. Then I chose "optimized defaults"
in the bios. After saving settings and rebooting I entered the bios again immediatly and changed the settings.
Could something have gone wrong when flashing the bios?
And yes.. Nvidia Monitor worked with 1.8, but I don't understand why it doesn't work now? And the reboots.. I had those with 1.8 too,
but they seem to occur less frequently now. I don't know if that is related to the bios however.

  • Mini Display Port to VGA cable can't detect Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM.

Just conected a Samsung SyncMaster 2693 to my Mac Mini (2.5 CPU mid 2011) with an Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adaptor it only sees the monitor as a VGA display and is limited to 1920x1081. I was using the same adaptor with an older Mac Mini (mid 2009) and had no problems getting the full 1920x1200 resolution. I've resarted and reinserted the cables, with no joy. Any ideas?

Looking into my problem more deeply it seems that the adaptor is a fault
As stated by BSteely @ this thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/9447077#9447077 it seems that the 1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz is most likely beyond the capabilities of the DAC onboard the adaptor.
Apple does make reference to this slightly in this FAQ http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3382 stating "The resolution available with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter is 1920 x 1200. VGA displays that use higher refresh rates (such as 85 Hz) at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater may not generate video properly until you lower the refresh rate."
Begin Rant: "May" As far as my understanding goes the chip inside this adaptor is either designed and the firmware is progamed to support 1600 x 1200 at 85 Hz or it is not. No "May" about it.
The solution is as simple a providing a list of resolutions and refresh rates supported by the adaptor in some sort of "Technical Specifications" not simply the description provided by the overview in the apple store which makes no mention of any limitation other that the requirement of a display port.

  • Problem (ugly display) with Samsung syncmaster 2243

    Hello
I just plug my Samsung Syncmaster 2243BW on the mac mini (DVI). The resolution set is the good one : 1680x1050 @ 60hz, but the display isn' t clear, accurate, especially with the fonts.
    any ideas
    thanks in advance

Without knowing exactly what it is you see and object to, I will say that a 22" monitor with 1680 x 1050 resolution is at the low end of the scale among most monitors on the market in terms of density of pixels on the screen. If you consider one square centimeter of area on your 22" monitor, it will have approximately 1250 pixels within that area. Then consider that a 17" MacBook Pro will have 2750 pixels within that same area of one square centimeter.
Obviously text will look a lot more clear when there is a pixel density of more than double on one display compared to another. Again, I am not sure if this is the underlying reason for your complaint about your new monitor, but it's something to consider.
Samsung also make a 2343 monitor, and even though it is only one inch larger in size, it is quite a bit higher in resolution. You might be happier with that.

  • Thunderbolt port not working as dvi in New iMac, is there any fix for it?. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2494 SW

Just bought the new iMac, also bought apple's mini dvi adapter, when connecting to Samsung SyncMaster 2494sw i get a snow kind of pattern and sometimes let me see apple desktop through it, i tried changing resolutions but nothing, is it a software issue?

Well my friend, after 3 1/2 agonizing hours at he apple store, those "genious" declare that iMac came with defective thunderbolt/dvi to extra monitor , not mine, ALL OF THE NEW iMACS!!!!, shame on apple man, i had to spend 300 extra dls buying a new monitor with hdmi input to solve this crap that apple just did, is not fear coming out with a new product that can handle something so simple. i wish i could report this issue to someone that hears it and make something about it since i do not think this is a minor issue since this new iMac main feature was the thunderbolt port

  • Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD doesn't want to work with new MacBook Air

I have a (pre-unibody) MacBook Pro and a Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD. I just picked up a MacBook Air with a MiniDisplay Port to DVI adapter. The monitor works fine with my older Pro but when I connect using the adapter to my Air, the monitor doesn't work. The monitor momentarily lights up and complains that it's not receiving a signal.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Hello there - did you end up ever solving this one?
I have a 13" MacBook Air (2011), using a mini display port to HDMI with a P2770HD, and I just cannot get the air to detect the display, or vice versa.

  • Problem: Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter with Samsung Syncmaster 2033HD

    Hi,
I am using the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter to connect to a Samsung Syncmaster 2033HD
However, I get No Signal with DVI as the Source.
It works when plugged into the DVI slot of the Mac Pro.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Chad

DisplayPort and its variant Mini DisplayPort, use a new and different protocol for communicating with your display.
A properly-functioning adapter can request the DisplayPort use "Dual-Mode", which produces a good approximation of single-Link DVI/HDMI. This is good for resolutions up to 1920 wide, which would include your Samsung (1600 by 900).
Wider displays require a more expensive "active" "powered" converter, to convert DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI.
So if the display works with a straight DVI connection, but not a DisplayPort adaptation to "Dual Mode" DVI the weak link appears to be the adapter, but you cannot quite rule out the display card.

  • Ethernet adapter not working with new Mac Mini after NetRestore.

I'm currently working with an issue regarding Mini 4,1s and their difference from the main driver set in 10.6.4. I'm in an educational environment and attempting to effectively netrestore a hard drive image that was built on a Mini 3,1 with all possible updates made to the OS (10.6.4).
The new minis have no problem netbooting, and downloading the disc image from the server *over ethernet*. In fact, they do it in a very rapid fashion. The issue is that once the machines boot up, they no longer have ethernet capabilities. In fact, the ethernet device does not even appear in system profiler at all. After reading quite a lot about this problem, it appears that there is a difference in the driver set on the special "Mid-2010 Mini 4,1" update and the driver set found in a normal 10.6.4 install.
I have attempted various permutations of installing the Mid-2010 update, but most of them include having an existing 10.6.4 install that was not built on the Mini, and attempting to install the update over the install, or replacing the driver in suspect itself. The issue persists.
Is there something I'm missing, and is this a common problem?
tl;dr: non mac mini 10.6.4 installation copied on mac mini 4,1, and ethernet drivers don't work.

Thanks for your suggestion, I cloned my 1.83GHZ Mac Mini's main drive with Carbon Copy Cloner and restored it onto a new 2.4GHZ Mac Mini. Since the new Mac was replacing the older one's mother ship role in my HTPC setup, this method would ensure the easiest transition. Everything works fine, except that ethernet wont work, it did before, but doesn't now. I already tried several confirmed-working-by-me cables and no luck.
I tried your step and understand the logic behind them, but as soon as I replaced my files with the ones you suggested from my 2.4GHZ Mac Install Disc, the system reports some conflicts. I repaired permissions after and before this happens (tried twice, once after successfully restoring via Tim Machine) and still it occurred. After reboot Ethernet was still dead and so was WiFi. Luckily I was able to get everything back to normal by replacing the entire Extensions folder with the one prior to the changes. Restoring the two files alone would not do it.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • HT4157 All my texts on my iphone stopped working when I synced my new mini ipad with the same ID as my iphone. ATT said was that was the reasons my texts failed. How do I give my mini ipad a new apple ID and still be able to sync the iphone and iPad?

My texts all failed when I synced my iphone 4S to my new mini ipad with cellular. ATT said I needed to create a separate ID for the mini ipad in order for texting to work. Will separate apple IDs still enable me to sync my iphone to my mini ipad?

  • How do I copy contacts from samsung galaxy tablet to my new ipad mini

I have just bought the new Apple Ipad mini, and I want to transfer all my contacts from my samsung galaxy tab to the new ipad.  Could you please explain how I can do this, as there is nothing in the instructions.
    thanking you in anticipation

I don't think you can do it directly. You need to get them from your galaxy to a third device then to your iPad. Depending on how many contacts you have you can mail them from your galaxy, open that mail on your iPad and save it from there.
You can export them from your galaxy to a comptuer then get that file into your iPad (I don't have a galaxy so i'm unfamiliar with how you get them off the galaxy)

I am running Mac OS X Lion on a brand new Mini.  Every now and then, my keyboard goes "dead."  The mouse still works but I can't type.  If I restart, everything is fine again.  Is there anything that will fix this problem?
Also, I am trying to connect my Mini from the mini-Displayport to the Displayport of my Dell U2410 monitor.  The image is very grainy, even though it is set to the correct resolution: 1920 X 1200 at 60Hz.  If I use HDMI to VGA input, the image is much clearer.  Is there a way to get the Displayport to work?

I'm having exactly the same keyboard issue.  Certainly nothing has ever enhanced my concentration while coding like suddenly becoming unable to type.
I'm seeing a great many devicemgr and rake errors in my system log.  I don't know if they're related.  How 'bout you?
If you're unfamiliar with the system log…
    Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.
If necessary, choose View > Show Log List.
system.log is at the top of the FILES section.
Try searching it for hot words like DEBUG, FATAL, and aborted.
I've found some discussions that would tend to indicate my errors are postGres related – I'm running OS X server.
