Samsung TV wifi connection speed to HH3

Having issues connecting to my NAS media content from my TV via the HHS - when i check in the HH home network connected divices it shows my TV as connected via wifi at 1mbps... all my other devices are hitting in excess of 60mbs to the hub. However when i open a browser on the TV itself and check on speedtest.net i get around 9mbps (although I get 30+mbps on ipad right next to TV)... Is there any settings in the HH itself to allocate bandwidth or improve the connection to the TV or is it more likely to be an issue at the TV's side? Not sure if it is just the HH and Samsung don;t like each other? The frustrating thing is it plays VoD/iplayer HD with no lag at all (I'm on infinity2) so I can;t see it being a bandwidth issue
Anyone elese had issues with samsung TVs and the HH?

  • X120e WiFi Connection Speed - is 802.11n speed possible?

    Dear guru!
Could you please tell me what should I do in order to get 802.11n connection speed on my new x120e? The better speed I get is 65Mbs. On T500 I get 300Mbs with the same WiFi access point (so it definitelly depends on notebokk but not the infrastructure).
    Thanks in advance,
    Vadim

Check if your router has a Channel Width selection. Mine was defaulted on 20mhz, which yielded crap performance, after changing to 40mhz it works as good as it can on this 1x1 card and connects at 150mbps to the router where before it was 72mbps.

  • How do i get my Wifi connection speed back up after ios 5.0.1 on 3gs?

It actually began after the ios 5.0 update but this one hhas not fixed it. I notice that many people have had this same problem but i would like to know how to sort it out without spending extra money as THIS IS NOT OUR FAULT!! It seems clear that it is the update unless odds longer than winning 5 countries lottery in a week have come in and this many iphones have lost wifi connectivity in a single day.... I think not. Anyway back to the point, is there anything i can do to rectify this? My wife has the same problem and yet again.... What a long shot.

    Hey iphoneboy16
Create a Shared Photo Stream to get any missed photos that did not make it into the Photo Stream. Remember, when you turned on Photo Stream it will start to copy new photos taken at that point in time. It also only holds the pictures for 30 days and up to 1000 photos.

WiFi signals get stronger the closer the machine is to the router and the less interference/blocking of the signal like via walls with metal in them or of thick concrete.
Since the signal emanates outwards in a sphere, your supposed to place the wireless router in a central location in the building so it covers all areas.
The power of the router also has a affect, if your router is old or something not that powerful like a Airport Express, it doesn't have the ability to filter out other signals or enough punch to get through walls etc. or cover a large area as effectively.
If you buy/have a powerful router of newer make and have issues where there is metal in the walls or thick concrete, then you can buy something like OpenMesh and by using Ethernet cables from the back of the router, extend the WiFi signal into other rooms and areas past the blockage.

  • Wifi Connection Speed

    Hi everyone,
I had a thread in the newbie corner about filesharing, however I have now come across an even worse issue.
It's to do with my wifi speed. I am using netcfg to set up a connection automatically, however I have done the setup manually and it made no difference. The problem is the speed is pretty bad. I plan on using the machine as I download and local fileserver, so wireless speeds of max 100kb/s vs. my Windows' machines 800kb/s is not quite good enough.
I use the ath9k driver for my TP-Link card, and I have tried disabling power-saving and forcing a higher bitrate, but neither of those solutions work.
    Can anyone assist?

What is the output of iwconfig  ?
I meant 100 kilobytes per second. I got that from getting packages from mirrors, donwloading some torrents, and downloading Big Buck Bunny to test my filesharing. It never got much above 100, whereas on Windows I get 800+.

  • AP541N WiFi-Connection speed

I tried to get higher speeds than 54MBits, displayed in Windows, which works without any problems for example on the D-Link DAP-2553, 130MBits are shown  doubleclicking the WiFi-Adapter after successful connection on my client.
My client is an Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook E-Series with an Intel 4965AGN WiFi-Adapter, running Windows 7.
After upgrading towards AP541N-K9-1.9(2) the problem still persists, i can´t get higher speeds than 54MBit.
What seems quite interesting to me:
On my MBP, manufactured early spring this year, i used it to configure and test this AP for the customer, everything works fine, i get full-blown 802.11n.
I can switch/change between a/n, b/g/n, use a whole bunch of different settings on the AP541N, the problem persists. I´m not able to obtain higher speeds on my Fujitsu Notebook, while the MBP still gets a functional n-connection with bandwidths far above 100MBit..
Are there known incompatibilities regarding the n-functionality in this environment? Is the Intel WiFi-Chipset the problem?
    Any help would be appreciated.

I am also having the same problem.
I have 2 AP541 units clustered, both with the latest firmware.
Firmware was the first thing I did on the latest one I purchased since I had DHCP problems with the first one.
(although I still have DHCP problems, even after making the registry change on the DHCP server)
I have all Lenovo laptops, all of which have an Intel wireless card, except one.
Some laptops are g only, but most are n, with cards like the Intel 5100 AGN or 6000 series.
Since the APs are clustered I can get a nice overview of all connected sessions and only one computer is connecting at over 54mbps. (216mbps at this time)
That one happens to be an X200 Thinkpad with a Realtek wireless card and is right next to the laptop Im writing this on, which is connecting at 5 to 54Mbps. (Thinkpad T400 - Intel 5100 AGN)
And even though Im connecting at up to 54Mbps, it feels more like 1 because everything is incredibly slow, local and internet.
The previous old Linksys WRT54G I had worked much better!
Ive tried several different settings on the AP, like setting to 40MHz bandwidth, disabling Broadcast/Multicast rate limiting, auto channel selection, manual channel selection, scanning for interfering networks, disabling WMM and ensuring I had the latest WiFi drivers on the clients.
I just dont know what else to do.
Its kind of embarassing to implement a new AP only to have it work worse than the previous ancient model.
If I take this laptop home and connect to my D-Link draft N router it connects at around 150Mbps.
I am in no way expecting a 300Mbps connection, but it should at least be over 100, else whats the point?
Anyone else having these issues using Intel cards?

  • IPad Wifi connection speed

I checked my Airport Extreme stats to se what my new iPad is connecting at, I was very disappointed to se it connects at only 39Mbs. Even my gen1 iPod touch connects at 54MBs and my Macbook over 100Mbs. I verified my speed on a Time capsule with the same results.
    What are others seeing?
    Joe

For those that are seeing problems, did you make sure your FW is up to date on the AEBS?
If you have a Mac click Applications>Utilities>Airport Utility. You should see your base-station in there and there will be a button that says update firmware. Click that and make sure it's up to date, then report back.
I suspect that could be one potential reason if the iPad is not seeing any throughput issues only reporting the wrong number. What you are saying would suggest to me it's not the iPad HW, but potentially the SW of either the iPad or AEBS. But if I was a betting man, I'd say it's older FW on the airport, since the client will connect to whatever it's told to connect to. The AEBS would control what it should connect to.

  • Wifi connection drops but LAN connection is fine

    A strange one.
I have both WiFi and LAN connections to my HH3 for different computers
The LAN connection is always fine - good speed, no drop-outs, etc
The WiFi connection however is a nightmare.  It works for a few hours and then the computer drops the internet connection.
It is not the WiFi connection to the HH3 as I can still get to the HH3 web page but any internet address gets a "DNS not found" error.
In this state, the LAN connection still works fine.  I can browse the Internet fine just not from a WiFi connection.
The only solution is to reset the HH3 fully (a disconnect/reconnect of the internet connection doesn't help)
    Any ideas?
    Chris

    Hi there,
It sounds like you need to change the wireless channel on your HH3.
If you're on Windows then you're going to need inssider 2 or if you're using a Mac, then you'll need to download istumbler
Download whichever one of those is appropriate to your OS and do a scan for wireless networks close to you and you will be able to see which networks are operating on which channels and change to a less congested channel, if need be
    I hope this info helps

  • Poor WiFi connection with iPhone 4 (iOS 4.2)

    Hello,
I am regularly testing my internet download speed on my iPhone using Ookla's app 'Speed Test'. It used to be up to 8-17 Mbps. But since a few months it only runs on about 1-2 Mbps!?
I did not change my provider nor did my provider decrease the rate. The rate tested from my MacBook Pro is 32 Mbps.
Since I use a MacBook Pro (10/2008), another MacBook Pro (8/2006), an Apple TV and an iPhone 4 I have to set my AirPort Extreme to 802.11n (b/g compatible). I set teh channel manually to 12 since the Apple TV could not deal with automatic channel selection?! The Apple TV's connection speed is also very poor.
So does anyone have tips how I can improve the WiFi connection speed for my iPhone and Apple TV?
    Thanks & best regards,
    Manfred

Use the advice in this thread to investigate the signal and noise levels that each device sees:

With that information you can begin to understand the problem.

  • IPad Air slow WiFi connection

I'm having WiFi connection speed problem with new iPad Air and Airport-extreme 802.11ac.
I can get over 30Mbps download speed with old iPad2 but with new iPad Air, I get only 7 or 8Mbps.
I saw https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5516013 (Slow WiFi on the new iPad Air). He solve the problem by changing the Channel Bandwidth settings on the router but not such setting on airport-extreme 802.11ac.

I have had the same issue but it has not been fixed by renaming the 5Ghz network. We have two iPad Air connected to HH5.  I have manged to reproduce the issue described where wifi crashes if streaming and downloading. I can also reproduce on both iPads. Other devices including an iPad2 work fine.
I have even turned off the 2.4GHz and was able to reproduce the issue.
It would be good if others could also repeat the following test.
    1. Connect Ipad Air to 5GHz wifi band
    2. Stream from bbc iplayer - live channel
    3. Download a large app such as Pages / Numbers / Garageband.
Pretty much everytime the wifi crashes. Without downloading apps I can stream without error. Also no issue seen on the 2.4Ghz band.
Apple have asked me to visit Apple store to try and reproduce on their network so hopefully this will prove if it is the iPad or HH5 at fault.

  • Connect samsung WB150 wifi camera to imac?

    Hi
I have a samsung WB150 wifi camera and thought I would be able to transfer photos easily to my imac, but I can't see how to do this?

According to c|net's review, your camera is not Mac compatible, so easy photo file transfer may be impossible.
If your camera's user manual does not help you connect to your Mac or network, the next best thing I can suggest is to connect a compatible SD Card reader to your iMac's USB port and see if you can read the jpeg files your camera stores on the card.

  • AT200 : Wifi/Internet speed connection issue after 4.0.3 upgrade

    Hi,
Since I have updated my AT200 to 4.0.3, my internet connection speed is incredibly slow.
I have tested on 2 different wifi points where connection with other devices/PC's is great.
AT200 connects easily but the transfer rate is so low that Speedtest.net says it cannot connect to network.
Pages load slowly or not, Google Play gives me a "Connection expired" message.
I would appreciate any help so I can solve this issue. Should I downgrade to HC and if so, does someone knows the procedure.
    Thanks

    Hi
An similar issue was mentioned in this thread:

  • Can Airport Express speed up my Macbook Pro's Wifi Connection?

    Hey all
Just a thought, I'm with Virgin Media for my broadband and my Macbook and iPhone can be rather slow on the network. Plenty of devices on but my parents broadband speed should be plenty to manage them all.
My question is, if I purchased an Airport Express, would that maybe speed up my Wifi connection on my Macbook?
Not to sure so thought I'd ask
    Thanks
    Rob

    Hi Bob,
My router and the Airport Express is located directly beneath my bedroom so within perfect range I'd say. I get between 2-3 out of 3 bars of wifi signal on my iPhone and 4/4 bars on my Macbook so I'd say I'm close enough however I have been thinking of trailing a network cable from the router to the airport express through the floor and putting the airport express in the same room as me.
    Thanks
    Rob

  • HH3 wifi connection problem

I have got a problem with the hh3 on wifi, tech support are sending me a new hh3 but i dont think it will fix the problem, basically i have an home plug that is connected to the hh3 it is for wifi coverage down the garden, when my family have used the outside home plug wifi then come inside and try to connect back to hh3 wifi the devices wont connect they all show up on Physical connections part of my home connections instead of the Wireless connections side, i can get them to connect to wireless again by unplugging the home plugs but i dont want to have to do this everytime, any suggestions ?

Technical issues like this are not first line support`s purpose, they are there just to ensure basic connectivity to the Internet.
One solution is to use a Universal Wireless Repeater instead, which the home hub sees as appearing only on the wireless interface.
The other option is to use a different router.

  • Wifi Ac iMac 2013 showing connection speed 1g/s

Connected over strong-signal Wifi Ac.  Network utility shows the link speed to be 1 g/s.  Is that 866 M/s rounded?  If I switch to the other 2.5 GHz network, the speed indicated drops to 144 M/s.  No issue with coverage /signal/hardware.  To me it looks like Network Utility is out of date.

Thanks but the reason for mentioning the other network was that Network Utility indicates the connected speed at least for Wifi N.  However for Wifi AC, it is indicating a speed i.e. 1 G/s that is well above the spec of 866 M/s.  My question is does 1 g/s on NU = 866?  Is there another utility that supports Wifi AC?
