SAN-OS 3.3.1a Copper SFP Support.

hi guys,
beginning with SAN-OS Rel. 3.3.1a, are Copper SFP Supported for the MSM-18/4 and 9222i. My question, are Copper SFP Supported into the MDS 9000 4 Port IP Storage Service Module ? If yes, which exactely Cisco Part Number of SFP are Supported ?
Thanks.

howdy,
They are supported...

  • 10Gig Copper SFP for Nexus F Series module (N7K-F248XP-25E)

Does Cisco have 10Gig Copper SFP which can be supported on Nexus platform in the F Series module (N7K-F248XP-25E)

    Leo,
Thank you for the answer, you mentioned 10Gig Copper module in your reply (Part# N7K-F248XT-25E) but I already have Fiber Module (Part# N7K-F248XP-25E), I just need 2 10Gig copper ports for my storage and cant afford to buy a whole new Copper module. My question was if there is any 10Gig Copper SFP supported on F Series Fiber Module (Part# N7K-F248XP-25E), (not a twinax/DAC cable since my distance is longer and Twinax wont work)

  • ME 3800 output drops with Copper SFP

We have installed a copper SFP (GCL-T) in a access port on an ME-3800 running 12.2(52r)EY2.  The port connects to an ONS-CE-100 copper line card on an FE Port.  Both ports are set to auto-negotiate.  We see output drops on the interface.  We tried hard setting the speed on both sides, but the drops persisted.  We tried hard setting the duplex to full, but that made things worse.  On ports where we use the optical SFPs we do not see these issues.
Has anybody else run into this issue? Does the ME 3800 support auto-negotiation with the copper SFPs?  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the ME series, but if you can "tune" interface egress buffer/queue sizes, increasing resources for bursts can often mitigate and/or eliminate egress drops.  Of course, this also can increase latency.

  • CPT 50 & Copper SFP options

    Hello,
Is there a 1G copper SFP transceiver for the CPT 50. Looking through the online datasheets it look like the options for a short run off the SFP ports are either over fiber via ONS-SI-GE-SX=. Or 10G with ONS-SC+-10G-CU1=.
Is a GLC-T= supported? Cant seem to find any supporting docs if it is but wanted to confirm.
This is for local customer equipment...

You can't use GLC-T=, it will work, but it will generate alarm "Provisioning Mismatch". use this one ONS-SE-ZE-EL=.
    Your Links correct.

  • 8510 SFP support

        Hi All
I found following spec in 8510 controller data sheet
    Interfaces and Indicators
    • 2 x 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
    • Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) options (only Cisco SFPs supported): SFP-10G-SR
    • LED indicators: Network Link, Diagnostics
    • 1x Service Port: 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet (RJ-45)
However, I need Long Range SFP, i.e SFP-10G-LR
    Would that be supported?

hehe. Me the same. I guess you also wanted to connect the controller to a physical diverse VSS or N7K or other system ? , now i am going to have it connected to two seperate N5K (no vpc) in Active/Standby mode.

  • [asr920] ASR-920-24SZ-M - SFP support

    Hi, CSC:
Can someone please provide a full list of 1G SFP support for the asr920 for the 24 SFP ports (part number ASR-920-24SZ-M).
I'm particularly interested in the BX (bidirectional) SFP support. Data sheet and HW inst guide do not include this list.

    Thanks,

    hi frederik,
I apologize, but this forum is surrounded with experts in the IOS-XR area focusing on the ASR9xxx, CRS and NCS platforms.
The ASR920 is a different group running a different OS (IOS-XE), and I dont have the asnwer for you here. I tried to research it, but I can't find a good solid answer for you.
I would want to recommend to re-post this on the XE forums or ASR9xx (2 x's :) or open a tac case or consult with your AS or Sales engineers for this.
    sorry...

  • Copper SFP and GBIC for GigE 15454E Cards

    Hi Folks,
According to the documenationon on the Cisco site it appears that the GE 4 port CE card (15454-CE-1000-4)and the GE 2 port ML card (15454E-ML1000-2)only supports optical GBIC/SFPs.
I would like to connect these interfaces into a Cat switch which has 1GE copper interfaces. Does anyone know whether the copper GBIC/SFP will work with these cards?
Also would you know whether the 4 port CE card works in the 15454E chassis. The documentation seems to indicate that it does but there does not seem to be a 15454E item code for the card.
    Cheers,
    Phil

The only 15454 cards listed as compatible with the 1000BaseT SFP (ONS-SE-ZE-EL) are the ML-MR-10 & CE-MR-10, per the reference guide (url below).

  • Cisco 3925E SFP support

      Hi All,
The Cisco 3925E ISR G2 router contains 4 onboard ports ( 2 RJ45 and two ports that can be used by plugging in an SFP module). The 3925 compatability document only lists Fibre SFP's supported on the onboard ports. Do the other onborad ports only support Fibre ports? becasue there are already two RJ45 ports.
    Thanks in Advance
    Umesh Shetty

    Hi,
The 3925E has 2 ports that can be used as copper or fiber (SFP) and the other 2 are only copper for a total of 4 Gig ports.

  • Connecting Xserve to Procurve via copper sfp

Does someone have expiriance in connecting Apple Xserve RAID to procurve 2824 via 2.9-meter Fibre Channel copper cable with embedded SFP transceivers that came with the Apple Fibre Channel card.
We failed to do so as 'Fault', 'Self Test' and 'Port' LEDs on the switch entered an simultaneous blinking pattern indicating an error.
    Any suggestions...
    TNX!
    Zoran

I'm not surprised there's an error.
The ProCurve 2824 is an ethernet switch.
The XServe RAID uses fiber channel.
    These are not compatible.
Despite the fact they use similar connectors, you cannot run a fiber channel link over an ethernet switch. You need a fiber channel switch to do that.
The SFP GBIC slots on the ProCurve are there to enable the use of fiber for ethernet (e.g. to get past cat-5's 100m cable length limit). The port won't accept anything other than an ethernet GBIC.

  • WS-C2960X-48FPS-L and SFP support Auto MDI/MDX or is crossover needed?

I have two WS-C2960X-48FPS-L running c2960x-universalk9-mz.150-2.EX5 and using two GLC-Ts in each switch etherchanneled together.
    I put a straight-thru cable in and SW1 shows up/up and SW2 shows down/line protocol down. Do I need a cross-over cable?
Nothing is in err-disable.  I did a shut and not shut on all interface and still one side is up/up and other side is down/down.  Really odd.
Both sides have exact identical config.
    2960X02#show run int gig1/0/50
    Building configuration...
    Current configuration : 144 bytes
    interface GigabitEthernet1/0/50
     description Uplink to 2960X-01
     switchport mode trunk
     speed 1000
     duplex full
     channel-group 1 mode on
    end
    2960X02#show run int gig1/0/52
    Building configuration...
    Current configuration : 144 bytes
    interface GigabitEthernet1/0/52
     description Uplink to 2960X-01
     switchport mode trunk
     speed 1000
     duplex full
     channel-group 1 mode on
    end

    Jason,
I remembered seeing a few posts regarding 2960X and a lot of SFP issues (HERE).  The only solution was to downgrade to EX3 or EX4.
Ok, now here's the rub:  EX4 was INITIALLY the solution to solve this issue regarding SFP/SFP+ issues with 2960X.  The rub is even EX4 people started seeing MORE issues (other than SFP/SFP+).  So the final "recommendation" is to go further down to EX3.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend anyone use 15.2(2)E.  If you have to use 15.2(2)E then be careful.  If you have 802.1x and PoE phones, AVOID 15.2(2)E or who-do-you-call (you won't be able to call someone.  LITERALLY!)?

    Hi Everybody,
I´m making a proposal for a costumer where he needs connect one ASR 1001 with other ASR1001 via UTP cable.  The speed will be 100 Mbps at this moment.   Can I use the SFP-GE-T tranceiver for a 10/100/1000 Mbps connection ?
    Thank you.

  • Does SFP-TX support Tri-Rate(10/100/1000Base-TX) on Aruba 72xx controllers?

    Q: Does SFP-TX support Tri-Rate(10/100/1000Base-TX) on Aruba 72xx controllers?
A: Aruba do not support 10/100 on copper SFP on any controller platform.
The SFP-TX support only 1000Base-TX when used on the 72xx controllers.
If the peer interface is 100Base-TX then we will have a speed mismatch and the link will be down.
