Sandisk extreme 64gb (copy n reading less than 30 mb)

HI  I have recently purchased sandisk extreme 64 gb through ebay .But i am really disappointed by its perfomance its coping files over the speed of 24 mb .my usb came with file system exfat but i formatted it because of its slow perfomance .Now i have formated it to fat32 file system but still it has the same slow speed. I have updated my drivers but no result Please if any one can help

Most laptops have BOTH USB 2 and USB 3 ports On my lenovo the ports on the right are 2.0 and the ports on the left are 3.0.  Check and VERIFY that the extreme is in a 3.0 port. FWIW - Windows SHOULD give the "This device can perform faster..." message ballon if you plug into a 2.0 port

  • SanDisk Extreme CF Card FireWire Reader

    Hi.
When I import files to my Mac, it doesn't copy all the photos. The FireWire CF Card reader mounts. I can see all the photos in the CF Card. But when I drag all of them, it says it's copying but not everything is copied. I have to repeat the process until all the files are copied.
Does anyone know about this issue with a FireWire CF Card reader with the latest Snow Leopard?
This only happened with 10.6.4 and onward.

    Since no one's answered...
I didn't know Sandisk still made this thing. I beleive it came out in 2006 or 2007. A quick search on Sandisk's site, shows no driver or firmware updates, mentions "OS X 10.1" (I saw it, but can find the link), and only mentions " all Capacities - 2, 4 and 8GB." So the info seems a bit out of date, which corroborates the age of the product. [This post on the Sandisk forum|http://forums.sandisk.com/t5/Readers-adapters-and-all-other/Sandisk-Expre sscard-reader-for-eXtreme-CompactFlash-Cards/m-p/189160/highlight/true#M286] infers that the Firewire readers were discontinued, although that seems not to be true.
That said, does the issue happen with all of your CF cards or just one of them? (Or some of them?) Are the cards fast enough for the extra performance of the Firewire reader? (IOW, if they worked on a USB reader, but have issues with the FW reader, then perhaps they cards are too slow? I'm just guessing.) Or maybe even the cards are worn out. All flash memory will eventually wear out. Are these older cards? (More than 2 years old?)
It likely is a compatibility issue with 10.6.4, but I don't know of that many non-pro photographers that used a Firewire CF reader so don't hold your breath waiting for an answer here. If you can't get an answer from Sandisk, then you might have better luck in a photography based forum like [DPReview|http://www.dpreview.com>, especially something more pro oriented.

  • Sandisk Extreme 64GB - make it a fixed drive?

Hi, I would like to use my 64GB Extreme as a Windows 8 To Go host.  However, this does not seem possible unless the drive can be made to be seen as fixed rather than removable.  Please may soemone from Sandisk advise if it is possible to do this? Regds, JR

The MBR doesn't use a partition.  And not having Win 8 I'm not sure what it's setup is but on Windows 7 some installs create a separate partition for the bootmgr file.  But that is not a requirement since I have Win 7 machines that aren't configured that way. I was under the impression that the Win 8 to Go was an image file that got loaded to RAM then booted.  Am I wrong about that? BTW This might be a better forum to discuss this situation: http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showforum=37 With the help of the folks there all my USB drives are bootable, including the U3 ones which still have U3 on them.  And some boot multiple systems on them.  But all have only 1 partition.  PS  At the very least review the steps to create Win to Go USB on the link I wrote earlier:  http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=24885  It doesn't say anything about a FAT partition.

  • I have a Canon t1i. Tried using SanDisk Extreme 64GB (45MB/s) card and got an error message

What do I do to get the card to work in the camera?

I would never recommend a 64GB card anyway.  Just too many eggs in one basket for me.  I typically use 16GB, max, and use 8GB, too.
The size of the card is irrelevant if you don't swap out cards in the middle of shooting.  A casual shooter could easily make a 8 gb card last for a 4-5 day trip.  Far more than that if they were shooting jpg.  Why not use 1 gb cards?  Most casual shooters don't swap out cards throughout the day, so the size of the card doesn't really matter.  Especially if you're DLing to a laptop at the end of the day.  Pros and anybody who has shot an "event" know better.

  • Burners that are more "aggressive" reading less than perfect discs

Has anyone had experience with having to duplicate and work with originals provided by clients that are hard for the dvd drives to recognize properly when you try to make copies? I'm talking about non copy protected - industrials provided to me from varied dvd burners "in the field". Mostly different construction related specialty work. These dvd "masters" are created by feeding a camera's output to a consumer dvd/vhs combo recorder. Most of the dvd's I get are fine, but occasionally my drives "choke" on the originals. The discs are clean (no scratches) and the brand of blank does not seem to matter. I have purchased software that is supposed to have superior error correction properties and it doesn't really help.
I'm thinking that folks in this forum might have experience with hardware solutions that might help this situation.
    TIA,
    Pete D

    Pete,
It used to happen more in the past than it does now, but this just happened to me last week. A client broat over a DVD which would not read in all 3 of my Macs no matter what drive I used. It also only played in 2 of my multiple set top players. It eventually played and mounted in my "home" PC of all things. Having a few different brand drives ready to read the discs and a few extra computers around helps.

  • "Authentication failed" - exceeding Airport Extreme's max users with less than 10 devices connected?

I am running an Airport Extreme with two Airport Expresses on my network.  There are two macbook pros, two iphones, two ipads, a PS3 and a chromecast in the household, a max of probably 5 or 6 of which are turned on at any given time.  Normally everything works perfectly, but occasionally my wife or I will get an "authentication failed" message while trying to log onto our home network, and after wasting time resetting the router, checking settings, etc, the only sure fire way to reconnect seems to be to make sure the chromecast and a couple of the iphones are turned off.
If I remember correctly, the max number of connections to an airport extreme is 50?  Obviously not ideal but it shouldn't be refusing connections when 6 or 7 devices are trying to hook up.  We have had the same issue when firends come to visit.  I can't find any obvious problems in the airport setup, and I have my DHCP range set from xx.xx.xx.2 to 200.
    Any ideas?

is it the same device generating the error
i have had up to 40 devices on a single extreme maybe with 10 actively working others when needed with no issue

I doubt it. The clue should be the price. Any time you see a copy available for less than from Adobe, I would be suspicious. You can inquire with the Adobe sales folks, but don't expect any credit. At this point, I would suggest just buying AA DC, rather than AA XI.

service packs.  Nothing we've done so far has fixed it and I see that I'm not the only person with this problem.  However I don't see any answers either.

    Hi Kim Sharp,
According to your description that when you view the report it is extremely slow in SSRS 2008 R2 but it is very fast when execute the query in dataset designer, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can‘t reproduce the issue. Obviously, it is the performance issue, rendering performance can be affected by a combination of factors that include hardware, number of concurrent users accessing reports, the amount
of data in a report, design of the report, and output format. If you have parameters in your report which contains many values in the list, the bad performance as you mentioned is an known issue on 2008 R2 and already have the hotfix:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2276203
Any issue after applying the update, I recommend you that submit a feedback at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/
If you don’t have, you can do some action to improve the performance when designing the report. Because how you create and update reports affects how fast the report renders.
Actually, the Report Server ExecutionLog2  view contains reports performance data. You could make use of below query to see where the report processing time is being spent:
After you determine whether the delay time is in data retrieval, report processing, or report rendering:
    use ReportServer
    SELECT TOP 10 ReportPath,parameters,
TimeDataRetrieval + TimeProcessing + TimeRendering as [total time],
    TimeDataRetrieval, TimeProcessing, TimeRendering,
    ByteCount, [RowCount],Source, AdditionalInfo
    FROM ExecutionLog2
    ORDER BY Timestart DESC
Use below methods to help troubleshoot issues according to the above query result :

  • Copying large files hangs at "less than a minute"

    hi,
When copying large files around my intel mac mini system the Finder appears to freeze just before the end - when the dialog window is telling me that there's "less than a minute" left. It doesn't happen ALL the time, just enough times to be a real nuisance.
Killing the finder doesn't help - I need to power off to regain control of the Finder.
This recently started to happen after I opened up the mac mini to add more memory. Not sure if this is related - everything else seems to be ok. I have a mixture of USB and Firewire external drives - the mac mini is used to hold all my HD camcorder files and process the iMovie rendering to disk.
I'm running the latest version of os x with all the updates.
    Any suggestions?

Mac Intel Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi,
Hello! It's likely a firmware issue with an external
drive. Check the ext drive's site to see if there's a
    firmware upgrade. Tom
Thanks for the reply Tom. I've downloaded a firmware updater from the Lacie site, and I'm apparently uptodate. However, I also have a USB Seagate external drive, but the Seagate site seems to only provide support for Windows. grr.
Is this a known problem with certain drives/firmware?
    thanks,

Thanks Shootist007, by blockd files I mean files that I have changed to blocked and when I tried to move then for the first time, I had to unblock again. I am trying to backup my pictures, my songs and other files like word documents and excel tables. First I put all of them as blocked, what caused the first problems on trying to move them. Then, I've unchecked the block option and if I try to move one by one, there is no problem. The issue is to move all together, because it gets stuck in the preparing to copy files step. Anyway, if I cannot do all by once, I'll do it one by one, event though that was not suposed to happen if we are talking about technology, right? Anyway, I thank you again for trying to help me!

how to reduce a PDF file size under Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. The size is now 23MB; I need it to be less than 4MB. thanks

I've found in Pdf's many time when you go to Optimize a PDF and look at the font list there are often up to a 1/2dozen copies of a given font, say Helvetica, then that many Helvetica Bold, or Arial or Ariel Italic
What I do ie remove from list all but one copy of each different font. often dramatically reduces the size. also something lese is Flattening images will in some cases reduce a file size. I have run into a case where it actually made a PDF Larger.

After many days of frustration, I try a stupid thing.... Put the SD card in the Lock Position and... Voilá!
The way I find to access the content is put the SD card in the Lock position..

  • Sandisk extreme firewire reader not working on new MBP models(unibody))

    hey all,
so I have the sandisk extreme firewire CF reader since 2008. It works great on my 15" Macbook Pro2.2 (C2D 2.16ghz)
Recently(actually in march) I purchased the new thunderbolt 15" MacbookPro(2.2GHz).
At first the firewire card reader works fine on the new MBP. But somehow in May it stopped working(running SL). The CF card wouldnt mount, in System Profile it wouldn't even display the device. Even after I installed Lion it still wouldnt work. The only way for it to work is to daisychain it onto a firewire external harddrive and hook it up to the macbookpro.
It's super weird. I've contacted sandisk's web support(WHAT?! only web support but no phone, for such a big company?!), they said it was use the card-reader was due to power issues and told me to contact Apple to resolve the issue.
I later on tried the card reader on numberious mac's. Turns out that most Unibody machines wont work with it.(the weird thing is, when i just got my Thunderbolt unibody, it worked perfectly fine, for a while) But back on my old Macbook Pro2,2 from 2007(which is currently running OSX 10.6.8), it's works like a champ.(going to install 10.7 Lion and see how it goes)
And at the meantime I donno whether it's the card readers issue or not?(sandisk wouldnt replace the thing for me)
So anyone got any experience or insight of the situation?
    thanks
    PS.
To make things worse, Sandisk discontinued the extreme firewire reader,(they do have the expresscard reader, but the new 15" dont have a expresscard slot)
So now we're left with those stupid slow USB2.0 card readers while the size and the speed of those flash memory cards are getting faster and bigger each day.

I'm pretty much giving up on this issue.
I just found a very rare new lexar fw800 reader online for $80. Hope it works.
fun fact: the SanDisk fw card reader works on the MacPros, new MacMini's/server, even the thunderbolt display w/ the fw800.

  • Card reader not mounting SanDisk Extreme CompactFlash Cards

    Hello,
I am having this issue with reading a CopactFlash card I recently bought. It is a SanDisk Extreme UDMA card. When insterted into a card reader the reader does not mount like it does when SanDisk Ultra II cards are mounted. This computer is fist generation MBP and runs SL OS. I tried it on another MBP with lion on it and the reader works just fine. Is there somthing that I need to download and install do you think?
    Thanks in advance,
    Farzad

If the card reader is to old it may not be able to read UDMA cards.
I know I upgraded to UDMA, I wrote to Lexar about the problem. They replaced the card reader with a newer model that worked.
You might ask SanDisk if they will do the same thing for you.
