  • SAP CRM 2007 installation in cluster

    Dear Experts,
We are about to start the installation of CRM 2007 (ABAP+JAVA) with
Oracle 10g on Windows x64 in cluster environment. In the SAPINST dialog
box under High availability option, I could see installation options like ASCS
Instance, SCS Instance, First MSCS node, Database Instance, Additional
MSCS Node, Enqueue Replication Server, Central Instance and Dialog
    Instance.
I have gone through the installation guide. I have below queries
regarding the same. Can you please clarify the same
    1) Our requirement is we want to have an ACTIVE-ACTIVE cluster setup
with sap service running in Node A and Database running in Node B. Can
we have this setup in ABAP+JAVA setup
    2) Also,in the SAPINST dialog box as said above except last two
(Central and Dialoge instance) as per standard installation guide are
to be installed in shared drives as per the requirement. But, central
and dialog are said to be installed locally on any one node in MSCS or
in separate server. As per my understanding Dialog instance will be
used for load balancing which we do not require now. Hence I feel this
is optional in our case. Where as Central Instance I am not able to
understand why this option is for? Is it mandatory to be installed or optional. If
so, when I installed it in one of the MSCS node the incase of failover
how does it effect the system. As per my understanding ASCS and SCS
    comprise central instance.
Please clarify and thanks in advance.

  • SAP ERP 2005 installation in Cluster mode on Solaris Platform using LDoms

    Hello Gurus,
We want to install SAP ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0 SR3) on Solaris 10, (Solaris cluster 3.2). Please let me know the procedure.
What would be the basic steps or difference while performing installation. Also if anybody can give the mount point details in cluster mode will be the great help.
The installation will active-passive like CI and DB will be in the different system.
Also i would like to address that we will be using SUN's Logical domain i.e. we will install DB + Application 1 on one server and CI + Application 2 on second server.
In that case DB + CI will be in cluster mode, and App 1 and App 2 will act as load balancing.
Db is Oracle 10g and OS is Solaris 10.
If any other details you guys want, i will be glad to put here.

I suggest you get a good Sun consultant on-site and discuss that with him. It would be a LOT to write here and there are always at least two possibilities of doing such an installation.
The normal installation guides cover the differences between a normal installation and an HA installation, on top there is a lot of documentation available at Sun (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2562) and also http://wikis.sun.com/display/BluePrints/UsingSolarisClusterandSunClusterGeographic+Edition

  • Netweaver 2004s installation problem on Windows: Oracle 10G

    Hi Friends,
I would like to install Netweaver 2004S(with usage types AS ABAP, AS JAVA, BI, BI JAVA, EP & DI) on a server which has Windows 2003 server OS running on it.
The server has 6GB RAM and has 5GB of free space on C: and a free sapce  of 60GB on H: & 50GB on I: respectively. The database that is to be used is Oracle 10g.
Do I need to install first SAP solution manger 4.0 on this or Can i proceed with Netweaver  2004 S installation???
I am installing a central system.
First I tried installing SAP solution manger 4.0 on this system and it went successfully. Now when i am installing Netweaver 2004s on the same machine, during installation I am asked whether to "install a MCOD or create a new database for this installation".
I chose Install MCOD and proceeded  further with Installation. But my installation is taking a lot of time while executing the service :"Creating database schema". The message which i get on status bar is " Removing schema user SAPSR3" and the status remains the same.
Have any of you faced this problem ? Please let me know how you have proceeded further.
Before starting the installation  one of the prerequisites " SWAP SPACE VALUES" for installation was not satisfied by my system  and even then i proceeded with the installation.
Is it because of this SWAP space problem , my intsallation is strcuk?? or what could be the reason fo this?
    Thanks
    Diwakar

    Hello Diwakar,
If you are just installing NW2004s then it is not mandatory to install Solution manager.
To increase the swap space --
Right click my on computer ->Select Properties -> Click Advanced Tab ->Click Settings (performance) -> Select Advanced Tab -> In virtual memory -> Change
you canIncrease swap space/page file here.
Do not install the system as MCOD, make the seperate database.
    Do revert for further doubt.
    Best Regards,
    Sachin.

It is also possible to get that message is you are not using the same adapter (or do not have networking) when the listener attempts to start or when trying to connect.
    Post the results of
    ipconfig /all
    lsnrctl status
and the contents of the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora found in the %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin directory

  • More than one SAP systems on same Windows Server 2003 - Oracle 10g

    Hello Experts,
We have Windows Server 2003 with 32 GB RAM, 2 quadcore CPU, plenty of space. Already running with NW 700 AS Java on Oracle 10g.
Now we need to install a seperate NW 700 AS Java central instance - so please help me in clarifying following doubts - we don't want to use MCOD.
    1. Do we need to install Oracle 10g software again or we can use the existing Oracle 10g installed files. If yes then will the Oracle Home for both the SAP instances will be same - any steps needs to be done for that.
    2. Any other steps which needs to be taken care before and after the second instance installation.
3.SAP Note 98252 - speaks about changes in oraInst.loc before the second instance installation - Does it applicable for Windows - Oracle environment also. I am not able to find out this file.
Listener and Tnsnames file changes mentioned in this note seems to be applicable on windows platform also.
Pointers to related documentation would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

Theoretical you can use the same ORACLE_HOME, but i would really recommend to install the database software again in a different ORACLE_HOME. It will make a lot of things easier
    > 2. Any other steps which needs to be taken care before and after the second instance installation.
The same as by the first installation, but keep in mind of the listener port - you will need to specify a different one.
    > Does it applicable for Windows - Oracle environment also. I am not able to find out this file.
On windows it is a registry key (for more information please take a look at metalink note #564192.1)

Look for the pathset at metalink. The patchset includes a README file that details the procedure. You should read it through, since there are several notes you should be aware of and you should determine if the particular upgrade procedures apply to your specific environment.
One more thing, I suggest you to upgrade to 10.2.0.4.0, the latest patchset available for this platform.

install translation hub in oracle 10g.i feel lost
after searching google and oracle.pls helpWhat problem are you having with Translation Hub?
Which version of iDS do you have?
The most common problem is with incompatible Database Character Set or incompatible Oracle Version. For instance, using 9iDS, I can only install Translation Hub on 8.1.6, 8.1.7 or 9.0.1. So, I was unable to install on 10.2.0.1. Also your Database Character set need to be compatible with that supported by Translation Hub.

    Hi guys,
    I have a question.
I'm on a project to install ERP 6.0 and I will start installing Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1, through no fault, the project is long overdue and urgently need the Solution Manager for the team project starts.
The SAP platform is AIX 6.1 / Oracle 10.2.0.4. When I'm installing the central instance of Solution Manager, where the process to install Oracle Database Software Installation, then Current Patch Set (10.2.0.4) and lastly Required Interim Patches, which would be the point 4.7.4 of the Installation Guide SAP Solution Manager 7.0 including SAP Enhancement Package 1 on AIX - Oracle, can jump this last step (Required Interim Patches) and install these patches later ????? O is mandatory to install the Interim Patches to continue installing of SM.
    Thanks a lot.
    Desiré

    Hello Desirée
If you take a look at the note, Oracle/SAP have change the patches policy.
Currently there is only ONE "patch" to be installed.
It is called a SAP patch Bundle (or something like that)
It contains the latest PSU, and all required SAP individual patches.
It must be installed with Mopatch.
it has been released the 10th of this month.
This can facilitate the task of installing patches (only one to "take care off"

It you are not seeing any errors in the primary alert log, then I think that you have defined log_archive_dest_2 to use LOCATION instead of SERVICE. Archive logs have to be transmitted through Oracle Net in order to be automatically registered by the standby database.
    Hope this helps.

    I think you've mistaken EXEC(UTE) with START or @
    Execute
Executes a single PL/SQL statement. The EXECUTE command is often useful when you want to execute a PL/SQL statement that references a stored procedure.
    Start
    STA[RT] {url | file_name[.ext] } [arg...]
Runs the SQL*Plus statements in the specified script. The script can be called from the local file system or from a web server. Only the url form is supported in iSQL*Plus. You can pass values to script variables in the usual way.
    Here's a copy/paste of a test:
