SAP  6.00   and  Adobe Acrobat Reader 9

Hi   gurus,
Can someone know why SAP 6.0  and Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 was not compatible ?
Thanks a lot
Soufiene

Hi Soufiene,
The last homologated version by SAP was 8.2. There are already some people using v9 and working fine, but I cannot assure support on any issue on it.
You should refer to PAM (product matrix availability) site to know everything that is homologated and supported by SAP:
http://service.sap.com/pam
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Cristiano

  • Integration of SAP with MS Office & Adobe Acrobat Reader using OLE

    Hi Friends,
I have to integrate MS Office 2003 and ADOBE Acrobat reader with SAP very much like that demonstrated in SAPRDEMODOCUMENTCONTAINER program given in the control examples by SAP. But the problem is, the code I am developing and even in the one given by SAP has some problems in them. They are:
    (1) When a MS Word or any application is opened, many of its attributes are
disabled like CTRL+ N for opening new document and CTRL+ O for opening
an existing file and many others.
    (2) When I try to open an existing file using the recently used list, it is opening in
a new window but my requirement is to open it in the same window in which
the application frame is displayed over SAP screen.
    (3) I am following the same procedure that is used in the above said example and
unable to understand the way methods of the inner most interface are implem-
ented like method CONTAINER_CONTROL->CREATE_DOCUMENT that is
called from within I_OI_DOCUMENT_PROXY~CREATE_DOCUMENT method. I
am clueless how it is working.
Please guide me how to solve the problem along with some good reference material that you can suggest me to study.
    Thanks & Regards
    Aditya P. Srivastava

    Hi Adiya,
You need to pass the parameter 'open in place' to word file in same window.
    CALL METHOD DOCUMENT->OPEN_DOCUMENT
                        EXPORTING OPEN_INPLACE = 'X'

what is the different between adobe reader and adobe acrobat reader? What are the procedure to download a Acrobat reader?

    Good day,
Adobe Reader is a free application we offer for viewing and printing PDF files.  Many years ago, it was known as Acrobat Reader.  You may still see some users refer to Adobe Reader as 'Acrobat Reader'.  Old habits are sometimes hard to break!
You can download Adobe Reader by visiting: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 std and Adobe Acrobat reader 9.0

Has anyone run into any problems when you have both of these installed onto a machine.  I'm trying to convince someone to upgrade to 9.0 pro, but want to show that other people might be having issuse when running both of these on the computer.

The word NEW is likely your problem. You may have VISTA or Win7. AA7 may work on the system, but not in total. Very likely you will not be able to use the Adobe PDF printer directly. You are talking about the nickel from Adobe, but it may more be related to an OS upgrade that caused a functional failure in Acrobat. Acrobat works at a lower level of the OS to produce the PDFs and that is where the problem crops in when MS makes major changes. Maybe Adobe could have done the creation process differently, but that is not the case. This has also been the case with the macros that run PDF Maker in OFFICE 2007, making AA8.1.1 and earlier only work as a printer, not with the create PDF.
I understand your frustration, but some of what you are describing is due to the OS and not Acrobat.

  • I recently updated to Mac OS 10.6.5 so Firefox will not quit (unless forced to quit), and I get the following error message. "The application Firefox.app can't be opened -600." Same problem with Safari, Google Earth, I-Tunes, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.

I have to actually force quit these applications for this to work. How do I fix this. I also upgraded to Firefox 3.6.13.

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,

  • .PDF image's blacks look grey in Adobe Acrobat Reader

I need to save my design as a CMYK .PDF file and I have created the image in Photoshop CS6 in RGB, changed the image mode to CMYK, for black used C:40 M:40 Y: 20 K:100, and when saved the file as a Photoshop .PDF- it opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader looking washed out and grey. I only used three colors (black, white, and red) and the black is the most noticeably greyed out. The red also looks slighty washed out. But the weird thing is- when I open the .PDF in Photoshop, all the colors look right.
I've tried googling this and messing around in Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat Reader all day and just can't come up with a solution.
I don't know a lot about this kind of stuff so I'm really lost. I really need the file to be the right colors in .PDF. Please, can anyone help me?
Below is a comaprison image of the design .PDF file opened in Photoshop versus opened up in Adobe Acrobat Reader:
This is truly driving me crazy.

Thanks Viking, I was hoping to get some suggestions on how to go about creating PDF's from OSX (Quartz) that will look acceptable in the "default" PDF reader of clients and colleagues. Most are likely to be some version of Adobe so I'm wondering what others do in this situation.
I've tried using the PDF resident fonts and they still look quite "blocky and jagged" on Adobe Reader. They still print out fine - it's just the screen rendering in Adobe is sub-par.
I've sent a version of the doc in Word to a colleague who printed it to PDF on his PC and it come back looking much better on my version of Adobe Reader and quite good in Preview. Admittedly the version I PDF'd in OSX looked better on Preview.
So if you have a bunch of potential readers of PDF's what's the best approach to get them to render "acceptably" on screen? At this stage it would seem the solution is to NOT use a Quartz driven PDF tool (ie avoid any of the native Mac apps) and buy Adobe Acrobat or a Windows PC to produce PDF's from?
I get the feeling I must be missing something basic here? I'm not looking for publishing quality output, just a PDF where the fonts dont look flaky when rendered onscreen outside a Quartz environment.

  • How far can we rely on Adobe Acrobat Reader?

    Hi
We are contemplating to move to the Paperless Office solution with Adobe Acrobat as the backbone.
Only 2-3 people in the office will be responbible for scanning documents (using the scanning facility provided by Adobe Acrobat) and merging them with existing PDF files by inserting pages etc.
We were wondering if it would be advisable to get 2-3 licenses of Adobe Acrobat full version for these people while the rest of the users could probably do with Adobe Acrobat Reader as they would only read the PDF files containing the scanned documents and search for information inside.
    (1) Kindly advise me if deployment of 2-3 licenses of Adobe Acrobat full-version for the concerned users and Adobe Acrobat Reader for the rest is a good solution.
    (2) Also, I would like to know if Adobe Acrobat Reader offers the same extent of search facilities as the full version (for instance search through index).
Thank you for your usual good advices.
    Ashvin

Acrobat and Reader have a search and a find facility. The find facility is the same. Once the pdf file or files have been cataloged/indexed then the search facility is the same, but Reader cannot create the catalogue and/or index. I find the facility to catalog and search through a group of documents to be invaluable. The set of documents that need to be indexed may vary by user. If your two or three Acrobat powered users are willing to catalog many of the files for your users, then it is workable. If your users really use large documents the search facility is crucial. I regularly need to search for things in a document that is over 500 pages long, find just takes too long. Seach is really crucial and saves time.

  • "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)

We are getting the following error "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)" and a gray screen appears (Image not viewable) with multiple users. We are using Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05) and (11.0.06). The current workaround is to log off the website and log back in. Once the user logs back in, the pdf will appear. However it occurs anywhere from 2-8 times in a day. Anyone else having this issue or know of another workaround? Any suggestion with how to fix? Please help!!

    Hi Valerie,
Please let me know the version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader & operating system installed on your computer?
    Also, try this:-
    Launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
From the menu, choose Edit -> preferences -> General
Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
Restart the Adobe Reader and web browser.

    Hello,
I would like to inform you that not all the browsers and online PDF readers support copying text from a PDF. If you have opened the PDF online, please download PDF file to your computer and then open the file in Adobe Reader.
Please share a screenshot if the issue still persists.

    Hi
I've a big problem with adobe acrobat reader XI pro and I hope you can help me.
The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
    What can I do?
    thank you a lot.

There is no product called Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro. There is
    - Adobe Acrobat Pro ($$)
    - Adobe Reader (free)
Which do you have? And are you a programmer?

Copying text in a text callout (to paste into a text callout in another pdf document (3 instances of Adobe open) sometimes (only sometimes) causes the program to crash, losing unsaved work. Windows Task Manager shows only a small percentage of cpu used and plenty of memory available. What is causing this?

This usually occurs if you use a browser that uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

You can see the installed plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).
If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.
