SAP 8.8 License Clarifications

Hi guys,
I read the SAP documentation, but there was something that wasn't 100% clear. Can the same user log in to multiple databases at the same time? Can the same user name be used from different computers if they are logged into different databases?
eg. manager is logged into database1 on one pc and another person is logged into database 2 as manager on another pc.

Hi,
The professional user can be used by two persons. E.g. the user code manager. This user code can only be used in two PCs. Both user can access all databases. E.g. you have 14 databases. In all 14 databases, there are user code manager. So, in both PC, you can run the 14 databases, so now, it will 28 different databases but located in the same server is running. But if you use another PC, you can't access the 14 dbs,

SAP NW PI license issue

Hello,
I installed PI70 some time back and ordered SAP for license key. But, due to issues i have to re-install it later. What happened here is the hardware key is changed after the installation. Is it means i have request again SAP to get license key to match my Hardware key.
Hope it is unque to Message server, i mean when you install PI (Message server) it also generate this hardware key.

You send request sap for new licence key they will give you this Then you apply this When you change hardware The hardware key changed so you send detail to service.sap.com/licence

SAP Portal user license

Dear All!
I am trying to dig for SAP's policy about SAP Portal user licensing... Is there any document or does anybody know how SAP deals with portal users' licensing?
Moreover, is it legal to map multiple portal users against single backend (SAP ECC) user? If yes then is there any limit to it?

I read your post regarding your check on EP - R3 License. I'd like to know more about your check.
In our region, we hardly find any clear response on this issue.
My scenarios is typical : Many User Account in EP UME (either local db or link to AD), and we have lots of custom Web Dynpro application using JCo destination to read as well as write data to R3.
We're not sure how many R3 License we need for this scenario. From your reply, "one license" were mentioned for "WRITE" data to R3. I'm not sure what the "one license" mean.
Let's say we have 5 concurrent EP user having "WRITE" operation (via our web dynpro and then JCo, RFC) against R3. Do you mean we need to buy 5 R3 license ? or just one R3 license for "service account" ?

SAP Not Providing License

I sent a license request last week to ecommerce AT sap and haven't heard back. What takes so long?

SAP has changed license request module on the portal, SAP licenses works fine but WT not
We investigating this now with SAP support. I believe that now you will be able to generate license thru SAP Portal.

do you know, I,ve tried to put in the licens key in CMC for int.kit that I got from SAP self and also another from the marketplace page.
I getting message:
Currently held license keys (Select a key to see its licensing information)
License Key Error: Invalid Key : <my key>
There is no license added for int.kit in CMC right now, do I need to have it?
Reason to this is that we got some connection error: "The specific module could not be found" and error "WIS 10901"
This after Infoview and "refresh data"
From my opinion I would guess that this is licens problem?
Can you please help us?

SAP Crystal Dashboard licensing query

We need to purchase Xcelsius license, SAP Accounts rep has provided following link for online store where I can see Departmental edition, Personal edition and dashboard viewing licenses.

My question is we already have SAP BO premium 10 CPU licenses, we just need dashboard feature to be added on top of it. We need 3 dashboard developer licenses and a large audience should view the live dashboards.
Please suggest which license should we go with, as per my understanding we dont require viewing license as we already have 10 CPU premium license with which we can use all the features.
I know this query should be asked to the accounts rep but unfortunately I am not getting proper response from them and we need to purchase this ASAP.
Any idea would be of great help.

I look after pricing and licensing for SAP BusinessObjects BI.
BOE Premium does not provide for Xcelsius Dashboard viewing rights. BOE Premium includes Crystal Reports, Webi and OLAP Intelligence viewing rights. Xcelsius was acquired after the release of BOE Premium and it is an add-on to that license model.
To view dashboards integrated with BO Premium, you will need the Xcelsius Interactive Viewing license.
Note that this is a legacy license model. Current customers can purchase more of this but we have been positioning the BI Suite to new customers since 2011.

Delete SAP Business One License to Install another kind of license

Hi everyone,
In our company we are making some test in the SAP Business One 8.81 version.
In our test server we use to have 8.8 with professional license but now we are trying to test 8.81 with Starter Package License.
I delete everything from SAP 8.8 including the previous license, then we install SAP 8.81 but when I try to install the Starter Package License the system show a warning which say Cannot mix B1STARTER with other SAP License.
Can anyone help me with this?
I need to test this new kind of license but I don't know what to do to install it correctly.

All B1 licenses are available here :
C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One ServerTools\License
you can delete all previous version licenses there. The file name is to delete is B1LicenseFile-00202xxxxx. After delete, you can import B1 starter license.
If not succeed, you must request new license of B1 8.81 to partner.

Server 2012 + CALs License Clarifications

Dear ALL,
I need some clarifications in licensing to provide the appropriate
solution to my customer.
One of my customer purchased Dell Server with preloaded
Windows Server 2012 OS (Standard Edition) from us(from my company) to replace the
existing server which has windows server 2003.
Now the thing is customer want to transfer/migrate their Server CALs and
Terminal Server CALs of Server 2003 to Server 2012.
But Is that possible to transfer/migration of CALs from server 2003 to 2012?
In case of not possible,
Can I suggest windows server 2003 to install as virtual OS in Hyper-V
to use their existing CAL?
And is there any additional license is required to use server 2003 in
Hyper-V?

I would recommend contacting a Microsoft Licensing specialist to get details about your questions.
Please note that Windows Server 2003 will be not supported soon. So, I would recommend upgrading to a higher OS whenever it is possible.

Login issues in SAP B1 (Connection License Server failure)

After I launch SAP BO and trying login I get the error "Connection with License server failed [Message 60070-15]"
Please help ASAP

Before I begin, I must appologize for the term ASAP which I thought I edited but did not update. I actually found a solution on my own when I decided to uninstall and resinstall again from scratch. In the control Panen when I was begining the Process I thought of selecting repair on the Server Tools, then after that everything went back normal, I am not getting the issue any longer.
The description of the issue:
I was unable to login to SAP 8.8 due to error u201CConnection to the License server failed" and I tried to use License manger as a starting point of troubleshooting but when click on settings, I get u201C Failed to connect to License Server,u201D I click ok and was trying to import again the License key file but I could not because the button was always disabled and no Hardware key was displayed which was not right.

i have read them and i have done exactly that.
My problem is, the license we are requesting for is the Hana Engine License which is the Hana Studio License right?
And then another license for the SLD right. But the Hana Engine License or HANA Studio License is not Working. That's the above error it is showing.
So if you can explain the difference between the Hana Engine or Studio License.
