SAP ABA Enterprise Services

Hello@All,
I have made a Process Integration scenarion to make BP Replication between SAP SRM and SAP ERP. After the Configuration in Integration Directory. I want to trigger the Enterprise Services. But with the Transaction BP i found nothing in Sxmb_moni.
Ps: the Configuration of the SRM and ERP as Application Systems of our Integration Server is Okay. I can see other  ES but not BP-Out and BP-IN.
Thank you very much

Yes you are correct, could you please write  a blog on the same,it may help many.

  • What is SAP ESB (Enterprise Service Bus)?

Hi fellow sdners gurus…  I have been reading threads about SAP SOA and ESB.
I do not want to start a debate on wether XI is an ESB, but more of a statement to what is SAP ESB (if XI it is, then be it).
    1) What is SAP ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) today (I could not find a clear answer to is)?
    2) Who uses this SAP ESB in production currently and what kind of environment (i.e. strictly SAP backend systems, or combination of various vendors’ backend systems)?
Can someone share some light on this topic?
As a reminder, an ESB is expected to exhibit the following characteristics (source Wikipedia):
    •     It is usually operating-system and programming-language agnostic; for example, it should enable interoperability between Java and .NET applications.
    •     It uses XML (eXtensible Markup Language) as the standard communication language.
    •     It supports web-services standards.
    •     It supports various MEPs (Message Exchange Patterns) (e.g., synchronous request/response, asynchronous request/response, send-and-forget, publish/subscribe).
    •     It includes adapters for supporting integration with legacy systems, possibly based on standards such as JCA
    •     It includes a standardized security model to authorize, authenticate and audit use of the ESB.
    •     To facilitate the transformation of data formats and values, it includes transformation services (often via XSLT or XQuery) between the format of the sending application and the receiving application.
    •     It includes validation against schemas for sending and receiving messages.
    •     It can uniformly apply business rules, enriching messages from other sources, the splitting and combining of multiple messages and the handling of exceptions.
    •     It can provide a unified abstraction across multiple layers
    •     It can route or transform messages conditionally, based on a non-centralized policy (i.e. no central rules-engine needs to be present).
    •     It is monitored for various SLA (Service Level Agreement) threshold message latencies and other SLA characteristics.
    •     It (often) facilitates "service classes," responding appropriately to higher and lower priority users.
    •     It supports queuing, holding messages if applications are temporarily unavailable.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Jean-Michel

  • PI 7.1 enterprise services: How to find & invoke SAP HCM enterprise Service

    Hi all,
in PI 7.1, i read, there is support of enterprice services.
is my current understandings right about PI 7.1 and enterprise services:
1.the standard BAPIs, standard RFC that were provided in R/3 are replaced by standard enterprise services in SAP ECC.
2.a nonSAP application can invoke an enterprise service in the same way as a nonSAP application used to call an RFC in the R/3.
I want to view how an enterprise service of any SAP module can be called by a nonSAP applicaiton.
are there any doc or blog which shows this.
    is possible with/wihout PI.
    We have follwoing things installed.
    1. PI 7.1 SP4.
    2. SAP ECC 6.0, i am dealing with SAP HCM module.
are there any enterprise services of HCM available (e.g standard enterprise services given by SAP for HCM module).
basically i want to test whether a nonSAP application like a java application, can it get some info using standard HCM enterprise services provided by SAP.
I explored esWorkplace (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace), but it does not display HCM related process components under the column "DISCOVER ENTERPRISE SERVICES".
    thanks,

  • External system calling SAP ECC enterprise service.

    Hi Experts,
We have an external system(out of the client network) which needs to call the Enterprise service ExchangeRateByExchangeRateQueryResponse_In  in ECC.
As we  don't want to open the ECC port to the external systems we thought of using SAP PI in between.
I can develop a  SOAP to SOAP scenario between External system and ECC using PI.
I want to check whether there is any better  way of doing it without developing the interface.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Rajesh.A

    Hi Rajesh,
If the requirement is to fully decouple the ECC system from the external caller system, then configuration of mediated scenario utilizing PI would be a good solution here. But if it is only necessary to ensure that the external system doesn't have direct connectivity to application servers of ECC, then you may consider installing SAP Web Dispatcher, connecting ECC as a backend system to the installed Web Dispatcher and using Web Dispatcher as an endpoint in the caller system. In this way, the caller system doesn't need to have network access to application servers of ECC and will only communicate with Web Dispatcher, all communication between Web Dispatcher and backend (here, ECC) will be transparent for the caller system.

  • Do we need a SAP PI system to use SAP SRM enterprise services?

    Hi,
I am working in a project where we need to use some enterprise services like ([Maintain Purchase Request|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/MaintainPurchaseRequest]) for SAP SRM 7.x. We have an ECC 6 system also in the landscape but the middleware is a non-SAP one. My question is that to be able to use the SRM and Enterprise Services, do we need SAP PI or SAP CE in place. Any help or useful clue/pointers is appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Nilay

    Hi Jesse,
Please refer to my blog for the details.

  • How to map business process and enterprise service?

Recently, I read some documents about ESA. I'm confusing about the relationship between business process and enterprise service. In other word, how to map the business process to enterprise service after the business process is analyzed? Is there any methodology/rule to define business process and wrap them into service in ESA?

    Hi Sherry,
I like to add some of my thoughts about that discussion. From my point of view ESA is much more than just another BPM or Enterprise BPM. ESA is adresses six key areas and I think all of them are really needed:
    - <b>People Productivity</b> as the word itself describes...it's about portals and productivity.
    - <b>Embedded Analytics</b> has to integrate transactional and analytical content.
    - <b>Service Composition</b> is used for model-driven service composition and services orchestration.
    - <b>Service Enablement</b> is about a Enterprise Services Repository filled with business meaningful Enterprise Services and service patterns for enabled objects. Excactly this is where SAP has years of experiences.
    - <b>Business Process Platform</b> is about service enablement of all application platform objects and engines. This is the place where "BPM" for core business processes resits.
    - <b>Life-Cycle Management</b> has to cover the deployment, configuration, operation and change management for ESA based processes.
Therefore the term "BPM" is located in serveral layers of an ESA approach. On the level of <u>Business Process Platform</u> BPM is providing the choreography for core business preocesses.
At <u>Service Enablement</u> BPM needs to compose out of granular services (I would say "atomic" services)
buiness meaningful services (here we have "molecular" services).
The third level where BPM could be used is <u>Service Composition</u> because exactly this is the place
where serveral Enterprise Services could be combined to a process representation.
To come back to the discussion:
    1. The question should be how to indentify business meaningful services which could represent single process steps. ATP check, Credit card check, ... could be examples. In theory this service could be out-tasked, defined more flexible etc. This means that processes needs to be evaluated for Enterprise Service candidates. Afterwards you can check against SAP's Enterprise Services Repository for already existing Enterprise Services. The evalution for enterprise services candidates will be supported by the metodology mentioned by Kaj and David.
    2. I think domains in this context should be motivated by business and/or functional areas. Depending on the granularity. For example Order Fulfilment Services, Master Data Services, Search Services... These kind of serices can be combined again to services such as "Search of Master Data" (Search Service + Read Master Data Service) etc. or can be used to generate UI to be used in a ESA application.
    Your thoughts?
    Very best regards
    Wulff

  • Vendor enterprise services

    Hello,
I'm looking for an entreprise service which returns the basic data or complete data of one or several customer/s in ERP(i.e. I need the information of customer with ID = 0000000025) or i.e. I need all data of all my customers, ID = *).
I found 2 related Enterprise Services:
    - Read Customer and Read Customer by Basic Data but they only return the data of ONE customer :(.
If there is not entreprise services of Customer with these properties. It can be also helpful if someone provide/reference me an enterprise service wich is able to return data/basic data of one or several Master Data as: Vendor, product,  employee or business partner.
    Thank you
    Best regards,

    Hi Marta,
SAP delivered enterprise services are available for CustomerByID Query, MaterialByIdQuery, BusinessPartner query etc I am sure there will be services for the other mentioned business objects too. Most of these query services provide details respective to the single id (or a single record). I have not come across an enterprise service till  now, that has table as response message type, like for valuehelps etc.. (if i remember right).
There is a performance aspect to these. You can search for SAP delivered services in ESworkplace.  (<sdn link>/ esworplace).
Kindly check it out before developing your custom services.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to activate Business Add-In (BAdI) for Enterprise Service

    Hi,
    I have connected enterprise service
Find Production Order by Work Centre

from our ECC system to our PI 7.1 and did first tests.
I'm getting response to my requests from the ECC system.
But in the response, there are only the production order IDs for the requested work centre.
I suppose that the BAdI PORD_SE_PRODUCTIONORDERSWQR, mentioned in service description, has to be activated for the service in the ECC system, to get all the other optional production order elements, defined in the service response message type.
    Am I right?
Which steps in the ECC backend are neccessary to activate a BAdI for an enterprise service?

  • Basic questions on Enterprise Services

    Hello,
I have a few open questions on the topic for myself and hope that you can help me to answer them:
    1) In my Systemlandscape I have several ECC 6.0 systems and a PI system. Now if I want to use a SAP standard webservice, let's say some of the customer fact sheet webservices.. what would be the procedure?
Would I need to identify which packages the content is in and then download these packages from SAP service marketplace? And has this to be done on PI side or on the backend side? Or both?
If I then want to use one of those standard webservices, e.g. "Find Customer Address Basic Data by Name and Address", where would the service call be directed to? To SAP PI or to the backend system?
    2) If I have a Webservice which should extract mass data, e.g. data about all customers - would this be a feasible web service scenario? Or a web services only used to extract single customers in general? I wonder about things like performance, timeouts, error handling, etc.
    3) Composition
What tool is at the moment used for composing web services? Is it some design tool on PI (BPM?) or is it rather Visual Composer on CE or even WebDynpro (ABAP or Java?)
I hope you can help me to clear up some of these questions.
    Best Regards,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    Answers to your questions:
Would I need to identify which packages the content is in and then download these packages from SAP service marketplace? And has this to be done on PI side or on the backend side? Or both?
You need to ensure that the content exists on both if you want to use SAP PI  to customize the SAP standard enterprise services & create proxies in the back-end (ECC). You could also just use the standard services as they come shipped from SAP, in that case you just need to ensure that the content exists in ECC.
If I then want to use one of those standard webservices, e.g. "Find Customer Address Basic Data by Name and Address", where would the service call be directed to? To SAP PI or to the backend system?
It depends how you set up your scenario. You could have the web service mediated through SAP PI or another ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) using different technology. In that case, the service call will be directed to SAP (or ESB) & then the back-end. You could also setup a point-to-point scenario where the service call is routed from the consumer straight to the back-end. Ultimately, the call has to reach the ECC back-end to process, what changes is what is put in betwwen the consumer & the ECC back-end.
If I have a Webservice which should extract mass data, e.g. data about all customers - would this be a feasible web service scenario? Or a web services only used to extract single customers in general? I wonder about things like performance, timeouts, error handling, etc.
I wouldn't recommend this kind of scenario when using web services. It would more relevant for maybe batch or asynchronous scenarios, also maybe mediated through SAP PI. All your concerns are valid.
What tool is at the moment used for composing web services? Is it some design tool on PI (BPM?) or is it rather Visual Composer on CE or even WebDynpro (ABAP or Java?)
This question isn't all that clear. For web services 'Composition' you can use the ESR (Enterprise Service Repository) that comes shipped with SAP PI or SAP CE. ccBPM in SAP PI is used for async messaging so that can't work for web services.
For 'Orchestration' of web services, SAP CE would be your preferred tool & you could also use Netweaver BPM that comes with CE to orchestrate several web service calls for a specific business process. This doesn't stop you from using anything else (like Java for example) to do your orchestration but you want the flexibility of being able to change a business process on the fly & SAP CE with BPM provides this.

  • Enterprise Services and Persistence

    Hi All,
One of the useful things about IDocs is that their processing involves 2 steps: 1) persisting the IDoc to a database 2) processing the document. Persisting IDocs is very useful since it allows you to edit and resend them.
I would like to know if SAP asynchronous Enterprise Services can/do provide persistence as well. Knowing this would help us decide between using IDocs or Enterprise Services in future developments.
Your help is very much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Gerard

    Dear Gerard
SAP's asynchronous Enterprise Services uses proxy technology which provides persistence in the local integration engine. It is similar to IDocs, whereby the message data is persisted prior to processing by the application logic.
Additionally, SAP-delivered Enterprise Services uses Forward Error Handling (FEH) framework to enable error handling capabilities like editing and resending. Together with Error Conflict Handler (ECH) and Post-Processing Office (PPO), this enables capabilities similar to IDoc error handling.
For more info on FEH/ECH/PPO, you can check the below wiki and blog post
Error and Conflict Handler (ECH) - ABAP Connectivity - SCN Wiki
    Michal's Tips: SXMB_MONI vs FEH/ECH vs AIF
I've also blogged about development of custom asynchronous proxies utilizing FEH/ECH/PPO. You can check the blog below for an example of how persistence in the integration engine is, as well as the editing and reprocessing features.

  • How to use Enterprise Services available in workplace

    Hello Friends,
We have found some Enterprise Services to use for our existed business scenarios in ES Workplace.
My requirement here is: There are some interfaces which are running through websphere from source to destination. Now, we wanted to migrate those interfaces using PI 7.1, for which Can I use SAP provided Enterprise Services in ES Workplace? If so, how can I use those? What is the approach? Is there any process for this?
Kindly provide us blogs, pdfs or step by step procedure how to use?
    Regards
    PM.

    Hello PM,
It depends on the exact scenario and best fit of usage of ESs. The ESs listed out in the ES workplace are the different functionalities and specific to business scnearios.
So in your case, it is not a good idea to directly use the services available from ES workplace. You need to understand/analyse the exact functionalities etc
wrt your query on how to use ES from ESworkplace: All ESs are coming as EhPs.. so you need to import those EhPs in your SAP backend, and publish the services into ES Registry.. then you can consume without PI.
You can use PI, to have new developments or extending the existing ES using outside in approach. Otherwise PI is not required to execute the ES.
Following URLs will help you to understand these better
    Simple use cases :
    http://esworkplace.sap.com/socoview(bD1lbiZjPTAwMSZkPW1pbg==)/render.asp?sap-unique=045503&sap-params=aWQ9RjZDRkMwRUEzRUYxNEJDOTg0MUM1MjgyNzJFRTg1ODMmcGFja2FnZWlkPURFMDQyNkREOUIwMjQ5RjE5NTE1MDAxQTY0RDNGNDYyJm1vZGU9

Specific to using PI or migrating to PI, need to have more details to respond. Because we can not just replace with ES..
    Hope it helps

  • Creating MBO by Enterprise Service eats much Workspace resources.

    Hi, Experts.
I have been developing a iPhone mobile app by SUP2.0.
I choose SAP CRM Enterprise Service(ES) as EIS Backend and create a MBO.
but this MBO consists of about 140 structures and ate much computer resources (no
response) so I could not develop any more.
    ServiceConfirmationCRMByIDQueryResponse_In
Could you give ma some advice to develop MBO by using such ES.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    This is self reply.
I made the wrapper web service which reduce input and output parameter structures by net weaver PI and resolved the problem.
In my opinion though SAP ES is general-purpose and complex so originally they have many parameters and structure is nested and it can not be deleted under SUP Workplace. In many case we need the wrapper web service made by Netweaver PI or Netweaver CAF or Netweaver Gateway or others.
    Thanks

    Hi Gaurav,
Thanks for responding. Yes, all the backend config are in place since I am able to successfully run an equivalent RFC (BBP_PD_SC_GETLIST) and another RFC named BBP_PD_SC_GETDETAIL from SE37. The problem seems to be something very specific to the ES. May I request you to run this ES at your end (if possible) and let me know the result possibly with the input and output message similar to the one I pasted in the origincal question.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nilay

  • Transfer Of Data from Sap to Oracle with the help of Enterprise Services.

    Hello,
We want to transfer data from Sap to Oracle using standard Enterprise Services. Some fields were not available in the existing standard Enterprise Services,so we have enhanced the existing Services by writing code inside BADI available with Enterprise Services.Rest of the fields we have mapped with the existing fields available in standard Enterprise Services. But,the Oracle people want to fetch all data from Sap without entering any input as a mandatory field in the Enterprise Services. The existing standard Enterprise Services require to enter any field as mandatory and are not accepting the range in input for multiple records.e.g.All enterprise Services related to Sales Orders are displaying only one sales Order. We have searched all Enterprise Services for Sales Order(related to reading of data),but not able to find service which would display mutiple records without entering any input.ECC_SALESORDER009QR is the only service which is displaying multiple records without entering any input, but the required fields are not available in this service. So,kindly suggest what we need to do further.
1.Should we go for customization of services completely,so that it would fulfil our requirement.
2.Are there  standard Enterprise Services exists which would we give us data in range(all records).
If they exists, please specify the names of Services for reading Purchase Order,Production Order,BOM etc.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Divya.

    Hi Vaibhav,
Let me tell you the objective in detail.
    Objective.
To develop a package solution which will work as a bridge between Oracle APS and SAP system so that customers using SAP will be able to use advantages of Oracle APS for their planning needs.
This will consist of following major components:
OA Templates is an Oracle utility to load data from any legacy system to Oracle APS using standard flat files.
Oracle has developed an Application Integration Architecture which is a standard architecture used for integration of Oracle products with other systems.
Enterprise services is an SAP utility to communicate with SAP.
AIA canonicals are standard canonicals developed by Oracle where we have to map data fields from destination system (Oracle APS) and source system (SAP)
Fusion middleware is being used to develop application interfaces following AIA standards.
    Tasks at stake:
Mapping of Oracle APS fields and SAP Enterprise Service fields to AIA canonicals
Technical work of developing middleware using Oracle Fusion
From Sap side,we have to map fields which we have received from Oracle with the help of Enterprise Services, rest  consumption of these services is done by Oracle guys. So,suggest is there enterprise services available which would give us multiple records .
    Thanks & Regards,
    Divya.
