SAP ADHOC Query execute only

dear all,
I have setup a new role and made adhoc query for users to be able to maintain, change etc......
You can set up authorizations in such a way, that certain end-users in a user group are authorized to maintain and execute queries, while other members of the same user group are authorized only to execute existing queries."
the above statement, states other memebrs can be setup to execute only?
what must I do to make the endsers allow them to execute the query only?
for the first set of users i have within object S_QUERY made them to use change, maintain and translate.

Users with S_QUERY actvt=02 can move between infosets with no problem.  If you are removing this then you need to specify which infosets are assigned to a user group and which users are assigned to the user group.  If you have lots of users and queries already then this may be a big piece of work and illustrates why use of queries may save time for one team (developers) but give more work for others.

    Hello,
    I would get an idea of how to make SAP query by having a selection screen for Payroll area and its respectve periods (respective control record).  I was able to get the selection screen where I can input payroll area. But the date range for the report is a manual feed. I want something like when we select the payroll area, then I want the periods to be shown (payroll period - current period or other period). I'm new to making this SAP query. Any inupt is appreciated. Thanks.

    in the adhoc query we can select the periods based on the frequency but the dates will not get default
    As in the Pay roll driver the dates get defaulted based on the settings made in Control Record Status
    so i dont think this is possible thru Standrad

    Maybe it will be useful for you: for exporting query to another client it's very simple using "Download" option in the report RSAQR3TR. It will be downloaded (as file) on your local machine.
    To upload the query into another client using report RSAQR3TR you just need to select "Upload" option -> select saved file and press F8.

  • SQ01 SAP adhoc query error

    Hi,
    We face a very peculiar problem. A particular user is not able to
    execute the SQ01 queries for some reasons. All the other users are able
    to execute the queries correctly.
    When this particular user is trying to execute the query, he gets an
    error message that says
    "No archive information found for object type and document type"
    The details of this error message is as follows:
    No archive information found for object type and document type
    Message no. PT019
    Diagnosis
    No information was found about optical archiving. This may be due to
    either of the following reasons:
    1. No valid archiving parameters were passed
    2. Your system is not configured for optical archiving
    System response
    Processing is cancelled.
    Procedure
    Specify valid archiving parameters or check whether your system is
    configured for optical archiving.
    Please let us know why this error is coming and that too for this user
    only. We've checked the other settings like Infoset - user-group
    assignments etc which are perfectly fine.
    Can anyone figure what could be the issue?

    U could go as per wat Suhasini has said. But if u want the end user to view this report time and again, then u need to create a query.
    The steps are as follows:
    1) T-code: SQVI
    2) Qucik View: give some name here and then click on "Create"
    3) You will get a "Create Quick View" screen.
    4) Goto "Datasource" and select "Logical Database" from the drop down
    5) Then goto "Tableview" and enter "PNCPE" and click on enter.
    6) A screen pops up and click on the Infotypes u would want to extract the data from and press enter.
    7) Now, u would get the following screen "Qucik Viewer: Initial screen". Here u can see coulple of tabs.
    8) Goto the tab "List selcted field" and select watever fileds u want in the output screen and then press "Execute".

  • Adhoc query - Total payroll day issue on infotype 2001

    Dear Expert,
    I am working on the adhoc query and would like to generate the total number of payroll days taken by a particular employee.
    E.g. Employee A has 4 leave record in Nov 2011
    14-Nov, 16, Nov, 23 Nov, 25 Nov
    When I select the reporting period between 1-Nov-2011 to 30-Nov-2011, the total payroll days generated by the adhoc query is only 1. I am not sure why. Please help

    Might be remaining days are Non working days/Weekly offs/ Holidays falls..
    You Better Check through PA30 Overview of Absence records, Whether the Days are deducted from Quota or not.
    Need to check absence class in V_554s_0

    Where do we find this customizing field we need to select? We have tried accessing sq01 and changed a query we have created. We clicked on the basic list button and checked the checkboxes for list field and selection field.  When we got to infoset query, the selection checkbox is still missing.  Are we checking the right path?  The infoset is also missing that checkbox.
    We also got a suggestion here that maybe the problem is on the "extras" tab in SQ02 - that our field should have an entry there.

    To determine the structure of reports in SAP Query, you just have to enter texts, and select fields and options. If necessary, you can edit lists using Drag&Drop and the functions in the available toolbars.

       Yes; you can call function module in SAP Query. In InfoSet definition (SQ02), you can create additional field. In this field definition, you can add code snippet where you can function module.  
    However, this is not possible in Quick Viewer (SQVI) Query.

    There are two sloutions for query
    1. Ad Hoc Query already exists in SAP Tree Menu
    SAP Menu > HR > Information Systems > Reporting Tools > Ad Hoc Query
    Else
    2. Take the Adhoc Query to Favorites, So that u dont want to Dig down every time. U can access it directly

    in the adhoc query, for a particular field in custom infotype which is used for selection, iam not able to get the text , but able to see only the value. (if i press F4)

    Hello Novice,
    Indeed text fields in query have never existed for all fields. In old releases if a
    text field did not existed, customers had to create additional fields for that with their own coding.
    As of release 46C a general method for identifying texts is available (not only for HR logical databases). It also evaluates the text based on DDIC information. Using this method it is possible to create
    exceptions for text retrieval not only at field level (via customizing table TEXC_FLD), but also at data element level (TEXC_DE) and domain level (TEXC_DOM).
    So with the new text identification in SAP query customers have the possibility of creating these missing text in an easy way, and also to define exceptions in case the text provided is not the desired one.
    You can check the note 491403 'Identifying text in SAP Query' . This note describes where you can find documentation on indentifying text in the system and on how to proceed if text for a
    field cannot be identified. If you ran the report RS_TEST_IDENTIFY_TEXT
    you could see the result for field the fields. Please, choose "HR Class" upon executing for Text Recognition.

  • Adhoc Query Issue - How to restrict /SAPQUERY/H2 access

    I have created two User Groups HR_1 (assigned to infosets for Time data) and HR_2 (assigned to Infosets for Payroll data). Also, I want to assign the HR_1 to a user Time_admin and HR_2 to Payroll_Admin, so that Payroll admin do not have access to Time data and vice versa.
    Now I can restrict the access but when I execute the Adhoc query for the user, I can see the User group that I have assigned with a default user
    group /SAPQUERY/H2, which has access to all data.
    My question is, how can I restrict the access for the /SAPQUERY/H2 for the users so that the users have only access to their user groups i.e.,
    Time_admin to HR_1 only and Payroll_admin to HR_2 only.

    I was expecting some Answer but was unfortunate enough.
    I have found a solution and will mention it for those who face this issue in future.
    Configuration in “The Global Area (Cross Client)”, has some limitations
    1)      1) Restricting the access via T-Code S_PH0_48000510 (Ad-hoc Query) is difficult as this t-code S_PH0_48000510 uses the user group /SAPQUERY/H2 to which an Infoset is assigned /SAPQUERY/HR_ADM. This infoset has access to all the master data and is standard one (default).
    2)      Also, this is available in “The Global Area (Cross Client)”, due to which there will be access to all HR master data.
    Configuration in “Standard Area, i.e., Client Specific”
    1)      With this approach, we will do the same configurations in “Standard Area (Client Specific)” i.e.,
    I.            Create User groups (ZHR_1 and ZHR_2)
    II.            Create Infosets (X1 for time management Infotypes and X2 for PM and PA Infotypes)
    III.            Assign User Groups to Infosets (X1 to ZHR_1 and X2 to ZHR_2)
    IV.            Assign Users to User Groups (As per the requirement)
    2)      Additionally, Admin need to do two things
    I.            For the Users Set Parameters via SU3 as:
    Parameters for Users for Time Data
    Parameter ID
    Parameter Value
    Description
    AQB
    ZHR_1
    ABAP Query: User group
    AQS
    X1
    SAP Query: Infoset
    AQW
    Standard
    ABAP Query: Query area
    Parameters for Users for OM/PA data
    Parameter ID
    Parameter Value
    Description

    ZHR_2
    ABAP Query: User group
    AQS
    X2
    SAP Query: Infoset
    AQW
    Standard
    ABAP Query: Query area
    II.            Provide access to T-Code S_PH0_48000513 (also calls Adhoc Query but this t-code will respect the parameters set by us in SU3).
    III.            As a result of this approach, the Users on executing the T-Code S_PH0_48000513 will be directly moved to the Adhoc query screen with their authorized access.
    NOTE:
    these changes cannot be transported via Transport.

  • Error While Run the WebI Report on SAP BW Query

    I have build the universe on SAP BW Query . I built the same universe on the SAP BW DEV and SAP BW Test
    When I tried to run the WEBI Report on the Universe which is built on the SAP BW Test
    WebI Report is prompting for the below values
    Calendar Year
    Profit Center
    Profit Center Hierarchy
    Version.
    Here I can see the List of values for the Calendar Year and Profit Center. Its giving me below error when I look  for list of values for the  Profit Center and Profit  Center Hierarchy.
    u2018Database error: [SOFA Driver] : The operation completed successfully.. Contact your Business Objects administrator or database supplier for more information. (Error: WIS 10901)u2019
    My Questions:
    1.     Why I am getting this error. Because of authentication or configurations set on the Profit Center and Profit Center Hierarchy objects? If so , please let me know what I need to set?
    When I tried to run the same WEBI Report  on universe which build on  SAP BW Dev Query. I can see list of values for the Calendar Year, Version, Profit Center, Profit Center Hierarchy.
    But when I selected the values and tried to run the report. I got below error.

    - the BI Query in the Test system is running correct and all the variables do work ?
         Yes, BI Query is working fine in the Test System and I can see all the variables too
    In BI Query I can see values for  Calendar Year, Version, Profit Center, Profit Center Hierarchy

      Yes, Universe has all the variables.
    - do you see values in the Web Intelligence prompts when you run the report ? 
       No,
       I can only see values for the Calendar Year & Version  in the Web Intelligence Prompt.
    When I try to see values for the Profit Center & Profit Center Hierarchy in the Web Intelligence Prompt, its showing below error.

    Hi Ingo,
    All the authorizations for crystal report to fetch data is in place, and crystal report refresh and schedule runs success fully. The issue is only in Web Intelligence.
    If it is same as crystal report we should see similar results for crystal report, which is not the case as of now. Crystal report refreshes without any error and we can able to schedule it without any problem.
    As it is said earlier, SAP secuirty guy doesnt find any missing authorizations. It is very difficult to say which authorization is missing.
