SAP APO Promotions reporting

I'm trying to use transactions /SAPAPO/MP41A and MP41B to generate promotions reportings and I want to see only the materials with promotions and also its attributes.
However, I select the related flags in the transactions, run the report, but it shows also materials without promotions and never shows the attribute of the promotions.

Unable to Open Bex report from SAP APO User Menu

Hi All,
I am an SAP APO consultant, and have not miuch expereice in BEx reporting. As APO uses Build in BI for reporting and pulling history from either external BW or R/3.
Now my issue all BEx reports we use are assigned ot my user menu and when I select a report, I would expect report to open but an excel sheet opens and closes and nothing happens. However I am able to open this reports from my desktop menu selecting Business explorer and Analyzer and linking my SAP system. I use Excel 2007 , Is this some compactibilty issue or is there anything I need to do?

There's a couple of possible root cause why you dont see properly the Bex Report.
Can you share to me the APO version and the BW software component being used?
In case this is still in the 3.x, 4.x APO, I think, a separate BW add on is needed for you to run your BEx report properly. You can ask your basis team for this separate installation.
Btw, is this report working before, meaning was it pulled successfully already in the past?
Can you try doing this again in a separate workstation, as the BW add on is installed separately per workstation.
Its possible that this is also an auth issue that the user you are using is not capable enough to run BEx.
As of now, I have not encountered any Bex issue that is related with the Excel version, I have tried running Bex in Excel 2007 no issue also. I think it maybe more related with the OS you are using, if its in Vista already what I know is you need to add your excel as a trusted document before you can run bex fro Vista.
Let me think of other possibilities.

Is it possible to call a BO report from SAP screen? e.g. SAP-APO Demand planning Grid ?
Can we pass selections from SAP screen to BO and get the report based on the screen contents.....

I tested Edge Standard and it only supports one integration kit at a time. I can either install EBS or SAP. Installation of one removes the entry of previously installed integration kit. So installing EBS on SAP integration kit removes SAP entry from CMS and offers EBS instead, similarly, installing SAP on EBS removes EBS entry from CMS and offers SAP authentication instead.

Crystal Reports transport files for SAP APO / SCM

Hi there,
Problem: we want to use Crystal Reports on top of SAP APO / SCM and have some difficulties getting the definitions of BW / OLAP servers right and don't know which transports to import on the SAP to report with Crystal.
System is a SAP SCM system with APO module. There is a cube in this module (because there is some internal BW system) and I can see the cube in Crystal Reports. When I want to report from this cube I get an error:
"/CRYSTAL/MDX_GET_STREAM_INFO" not found.
This means some transport files were not imported and some functions are missing.
The following transports are missing:

My SAP BASIS expert refuses to import these transports in SAP SCM, because he thinks it is not an SAP BW system as listed in the above transports_EN.txt file. Just trying is not an option because transports cannot be removed once imported...
In my opinion these transports have to be imported to clearly access the cube and will work on SAP SCM even if it's not a 'dedicated' SAP BW environment. In other words, these transports should be imported and will work on SAP OLAP servers like SAP BW, SAP SCM, SAP SRM (APO) or SAP SEM.
Does anyone of you have some more experience on reporting from SAP SCM / APO cubes and if I can import these transports without getting some nasty errors, because its not an SAP BW system?

So I have to import 5 transports in SAP BASIS system and 4 transports in SAP BW system to make full use of the integration kit.
SAP SCM / APO is basically a BASIS system, so the BASIS expert says only those 5 transport have to be installed.
But SAP SCM / APO is also having some reporting capabilities and stores data in OLAP cubes (Infocubes).
In Crystal I can see these cubes when using SAP BW MDX connection.
To make the error go away, I must have some function modules used in transport 'MDX Query Connectivity transport. But the BASIS expert doesn't want to import this transport, because it is listed as a transport for a SAP BW system and he says SAP SCM / APO is NOT a SAP BW system (it's a BASIS system).
And now I have to get some proof that this transport has to be imported in the SAP SCM / APO BASIS system before he installs it...

Any available BADI for Delta Report correction in SAP APO?

I hope you can help us on this topics:
we implemented successufully ZXCIFUSERU09 in SAP APO in order to change the location of certain PO we are transferring from R3 to APO. This is mainly needed to avoid to create in APO all the plants we are using in R3 for performance/sizing reason.
Now we are trying to apply the same logic in delta report too in order to be sure delta report will give us only the real exception and not the list of orders where via exit ZXCIFUSERU09 we changed the location.
This is to avoid delta report is showing inconsistency that are not
true .
Dop you have any idea wich is the correct exit in APO we can use to do that? we tried with method RELEVANT_FOR_COMPARE_R3_PO but this called after the comparison with R3 data have been already done and so it cannot help us.

thank you for your answer we have further investigated and we think the issue is in method
RELEVANT_FOR_COMPARE_R3_PO
where structure CT_APO_ORDER is empty . Do we need to add the data in this table as per your experience with other similar methods ro not?
We tried to add the data and result is that the comparison is done between the 2 structures:
CT_APO_ORDER and CT_R3_ORDER but for the first schedule line only! it seems a bug as the report is comparing both the lines in CT_APO_ORDER with the same schedule line in CT_R3_ORDER...
Do you think we need to add the data in CT_APO_ORDER or the data sould be already there and we only need to manipulate them?
Based on your reply and our test that I would like to ask SAP to correct the method as it seems a bug.
I also found Note 1363487 - BADI /SAPAPO/CIF_DELTA3 - add parameter CT_APO_ORDER that is confirm the structure CT_APO_ORDER should contain APO po data,....

The mandate of integration consultant is to ensure that there is no business loss to the company because of some transaction data not transferring between R/3 and APO
If a planned order is not transferred to R/3, the production of certain materials may not be done and this may result in loss of business due to stock out
Similarly if a sales order or a change thereto is not transferred to APO, the planning results may be wrong resulting in business loss to the client on account of lost sale and unwanted stock.
So the duties of Integration consultant include
To properly set up the system and connections,
To closely monitor the data transfer activities and report and get the errors quickly resolved from functional persons.
Guiding the users for proper maintenance of master data as most of CIF errors are attributable to wrong data maintenance.

Hi Poorna,
Please follow below steps to delete Product-Location combinations in APO:
1. In ECC, deactivate Integration model for Transaction data and master data of the Products and locations to be deleted from APO.
2. Check where used list from transaction WUF and delete dependent transaction data and Master data from APO. You may use /sapapo/rlcdelete and /sapapo/sdorder_del.
Also delete dependent Master data objects like CVC, PPM, Transportation lane, PDS etc. from APO
Ensure deletion of transaction data in all existing versions in the 000 Model.
3. Set the deletion flag for Product / Product-Location combination using transaction /sapapo/mat1
4. Once the transaction data & related master data is deleted and deletion flag is set, it is possible to delete the location-products by running the report /sapapo/delete_products
To delete Locations from APO:
Follow same steps as above. In cases of deletion of Locations, all products in that location should be deleted using the Product-Location deletion flag optionJust change the report in step 4. For locations, use report /sapapo/delete_locations
To answer your other question on change in location type, I think it is not possible to change once you CIF location master to APO.

Benefits of SAP Business Warehouse Reporting compared with the Query-tools?

Hello experts,
I've been creating reports with SAP Query tools, but been faced with few problems. First of all, there are restricted possibilities in terms of joining tables, and thus I cannot include all the data required for the report.
One solution for this would have been to create separate queries and join the data together in Excel. The problem with this is that there exists no common field that would make sense as for a selection criterion. If the selection criterion is different in different queries, there is the danger of combining false data together, which would eventually result with distorted data.
So I was wondering, could anyone briefly tell me if SAP Business Warehouse reporting would solve these problems? And what other benefits would it provide compared with the SAP Query? I'd urgently need to know if it would be a beneficial investment for the company, since I haven't found solutions for the problems occurred in the creation of reports.

The answers are yes - and thousands of companies have gone down this route
Puttingin BW is a strategic aim of the comapny and not to be thought about and discussed in a BI forum such as this
The costs of implementation and hardware will no doubt make your eyes water.
To be quite honest SAP BI is a "no brainer" as most of the new e-SOA and new R3 modules reply on BW for their reporting needs

Standard APO and R/3 CIF integration does not need additional ABAP coding.
However if you are going to enhance any master or transaction data while transfer via CIF using BADI or User-exits then good amount of ABAP expertise is required.
Per my understanding USer-exits are classical ABAP while BADI are Object-oriented.
While I cannot comment if there will be "immense" amount of coding to be done but CIF user exits remain a critical component of any implementation. Its not the "amount" but "complexity" - need to understand the source system and target system behaiour and then accordingly modify, that matters.
Thumbrule - if its master data modification then its simple. If its transaction data modification then its can become quite complex.

How sales order number generated in the SAP R/3 is transferred to SAP APO

During the creation of the Sales order in SAP R/3 an Purchase requisition is created in SAP APO and assigned with temporary sales order and when we save the sales order in R/3 the corresponding sales order number is attached with the purchase requisition in SAP APO. Is there any exits or BADI available while this Sales order detail transferred to APO or during this sales order details attached to Purchase requisition in APO side.

For Time Management Infotypes , If you want to read the data using macro you need to use the Macro called RP_READ_ALL_TIME_ITY
Example:

MATMAS01 IDOC not reaching to SAP XI via report program.

Dear Experts,
WE are facing small challenge.
I searched on SDN on scenarios: IDOC not reaching to SAP XI. But could not find exact solution t oour scenario.
Problem:
MATMAS01 IDOC is not reaching to SAP XI via report program and is in status of 03 on SAP system. And there are not entries under SM58.
Under SAP XI system IDOC entry is not reflecting under IDX5 transaction, I tried to delete meta data of MATMAS01 thru IDX1 and uploaded again but still IDOC is not reaching to SAP XI.
The strange is that MATMS01 IDOC is reaching to XI via WE19 test tool. So PORT and RFC destination settings betweeen R3 and XI is also correct.
What could be the wrong ?

When sending Idoc from R/3,
Settings at R/3
create one port at WE21,
Create Partner Profile for Outbound Message type in WE20.
settings at XI
Create one port in IDX1
Import Matadata in IDX2.
Create complete scenario in ESR for Idoc sender, also import IDoc in Imported Objects.
Check these settings & send test idoc using WE19.
