SAP ASUG Methodology rel 7.1 roadmap = Is it available for SolMan?

I was looking at SAP ASUG Methodology rel 7.1 roadmap; and was interested to know
a) Is it available for SolMan yet?
b) If yes, how do I download to our SolMan instance? I presume this is via the ST-ICO download; but just wish to check for confirmations

You need to apply latest Solution Manager stacks (today 24) so that you will be able to have it in the transaction RMMAIN. The component where the new roadmap is delivered is the ST-ICO. You need to ask your basis guy to update your SolMan.

SAP job not using all dialog processes that are available for parallel processing

He Experts,
The customer is running a job which is not using all the dialog processes that are available for parallel processing. It appears to use up the parallel processes (60) for the first 4-5 minutes of the job and then maxes out about 3-5 processes for the remainder of the job.
How do I analyze the job to find out the issue from a Basis perspective?

What exactly are the SAP Testing Methodologies?

Hi,
I am researching on the various testing methodologies in SAP and came across a couple of discussions such as this link:
testing methodologies in sap
It mainly discusses:
AcceleratedSAP (ASAP) methodology, and tools available for AcceleratedSAP such as Project Estimator, ASAP Implementation Roadmap and Project Plan, etc
I do not see those as TESTING more so as approaches for implementation such as SDLC or the Accenture Development Life Cycle.
1. Am I misunderstanding what they mean in the SAP environment as u201CSAP Testing Methodologiesu201C ?
2. What does it mean when a job description indicates
     "Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies (S/W life cycle)"
   ii. Also, what is "S/W life cycle"

AcceleratedSAP (ASAP) methodology is proven, repeatable and successful approach to implement SAP solutions across industries and customer environments. It provides content, tools and expertise from thousands of successful implementations.
The tools available for AcceleratedSAP are:
- The Project Estimator, an internal SAP tool which enables SAP consultants to accurately gauge the required resources, the costs and the time frame of implementation. The Project Estimator takes into account the project scope and several project and risk factors.
- The Concept Check Tool, a tool enabling you to carry out quality checks on the project preparation, technical infrastructure and R/3 configuration settings. Does that mean that SAP and Oracle not longer have a support agreement for this?

Yes I know that http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/SAPsite/download.html used to work, but it does not exist any more and now redirects to http://java.com/en/javaforbusiness/sap_download.jsp.

For MRP, the main Customization settings involved are:
1. Activate MRP and Set Up Planning File - OMDU
2. Define Parallel Processing in MRP - OMIQ
3. Define Scope of Planning for Total Planning - OMIZ
If you want to use MRP Areas and include this in Scope of Planning then.
1. Activate MRP for MRP Areas
2. Define MRP Areas - OMIZ
With MDBT of Program : RMMRP000 you can schedule the Background MRP Run. (with a variant)

when user is updating size grid in matl master, the third party legacy system is reciving the bwlow error:

t100 is the table that holds all messages in SAP.
The key to access this table is the message class and the message number.
Reading the message that you provided, it looks like SAP is searching for a message number 000 without having a message class.
Do you use any exit with own programming ?
You probably need to debug the program to find the root cause

Hi,
When a new service pack is first released, the patch level goes back to zero. Subsequent patches that apply to that service pack are then numbered from one onwards.
It would however be technically possible to install a service pack and the patch level still stay the same. For example if you were on V2005 SP0 Patch 0, and installed the Service Pack 1 upgrade, the patch level would remain at 0.
The version info on the file should also contain a property for the servicepack as well as the special build. You can check them both for completeness.

No roll storage space of length 2352 available for OCCURS area : Error in SAP Service Manager 4.0

Hi All,
I am facing one issue while downloading Service Orders in SAP Service Manager 4.0 with SMP 2.3 SP03
I am working in the development environment where I have 15 - 20 Service Orders. When I am transmitting the client it downloads the rest of the configurations properly like complex tables, data tables, rules, screens etc but as soon as it hits /SMCRM/BTX_DOSERVICEORD_GET it does not downloads anything. I get a session time out error and then the ATE gets crashed.
I checked in the logs where I found -
throwExceptionToClient::com.syclo.sap.component.serviceorder.steplet.ServiceOrderFetchSteplet::throwExceptionToClient::285::ServiceOrderFetchSteplet - No roll storage space of length 2352 available for OCCURS area.
2014/05/13 14:04:12.082: ServiceOrderFetchSteplet: doSteplet returned false; no data to process
As I said its in the development environment it has hardly 15 - 20 Service Orders but when checked with the basis team it is consuming all the 65GB RAM and hence could not proceed further.
Please let me know what could be the possible error and how can I fix this.

Only 15-20 service orders, but how much data on those orders? SM 4.0 brings down potentially a lot of data per service order, including:
Addresses,
Business Partners,
Categorizations,
Confirmations (and all the data under those),
History Records (There can be a lot of those),
Items,
Reference Objects (This could be a huge installed base).
You may need to debug the java and adjust what data is pulled down and/or examine the Service Orders to see where the bottle-neck is. You should also increase the timeouts in your Agentry.ini file. Those settings are in seconds.

A possible solution is to define an IT0041 date type (ex Hardship Termination date), configure dynamic actions/use exit to default correct date on It0041 date type that will be used to calculate the initial eligibility rule date.
Define an eligibility rule for suspension period (ex. immediately after 6 months from the It0041 date type override date), and assign the eligibility rule to 401k plan.

Upon termination due to hardship distribution, the date for the IT0041 date type muse be changed to the distribution date. This will set the first eligible enrollment date after the hardship date in the enrollment work bench.
Note: I did try to prevent the employees from updating the Savings plan thru dynamic action.however irresepective of the status of the plan...the employee is able to update the 401k thru open enrollment. I think I should be somehow able to link the open enrollment and the savings plan(IT0169) record....not se how to do it....
Any suggestions pls????
