SAP B1 Help

HI All,
can anyone tell me how to use the help that comes in SAP B1 software itself. when i click on help and online help. it shows me web paged not found. Is there from any where i can download the whole SAP B1 documentation.
your help is really appreciated.

Hi
Press F1 or in the menu option HELP --> DOCUMENTATION --> HELP SETTINGS --> select your language and Click on local installation or Shared.
Then just by clicking F1 you will get the Help window.

Search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help

Hi,
Im trying to create a generic search help for Web Dynpro using the SAP-search help. It should working so, that I construct a Web Dynpro-component, that gets the data of the search help from the SAP-system, interpreted it and creates the ui-elements and the needed context generic.
The mapping between the Input field of the customerview and the right search help is to be made with an xml-file, which contains the information: name of the view, the input field, the search-help-name and the name of the field that will be returned.
The xml-file is reading from a helper-class. That helper-class contains any information, witch need the search help-component as well as the customer-component.
The initialization takes place in the method wdDoModify of the customer. The call of the search help from the customer should be implement with an Action, witch is bound to a Button(create dynamic in the helper-class behind the input field).
In a second foot should be create a plugin for eclipse, witch insert the used files (search help component, helper class, ) in the project. In addition it should create the call in the customer generic.
It would be great if someone can give me a feedback!

The BlanketAgreement.exe is a reference to the executable that will be created when you compile the solution you created in Part II - Part III. I think there is a mistake in the tutorial because it asks you to name the project 'Blanket' which means that by default the executable will be called Blanket.exe and not BlanketAgreement.exe. The tutorial also misses the step asking you to compile the Blanket project before you go on to create an installer. You should compile your Blanket project in Release mode before creating an installer. By compiling the project you'll get a Blanket.exe file in the bin folder of your Blanket project which you then need to add to the installer per the instructions.
SAP do offer development courses in some areas and there is training material here on the SDN and on the SAP partner portal (and maybe the customer portal as well). Try searching this forum for 'training' or 'tutorial' and you should get a few links. There's also a development certification.
Personally I'd recommend you give yourself a little project to work on and just get stuck in

Authorization check on standaerd sap search help

Hi friends,
Can we have authorization check on standaerd sap search help?
For example, if I want a perticular user to see the data only for the company code he belongs to...

In generally the search help don't check any authorization objects.
If you need to do it you need to develop a your own function module exit where you can filter the data can be listed in the search help.

Portal w/SAP GUI; Help -- Application Help causes all windows be destroyed

Hello All -
I have a user who has portal windows (IE) open in the portal, multiple sessions. When he has a SAP GUI transaction in the application content area and selects the SAP GUI 'Help' --> 'Application Help' link, all the session windows are closed, and the primary goes to SAP help.
This destroys what the user was working on.
My computer does not do this, even when that user is logged in on my computer.
Any ideas?

Your requirements are not 100% clear. In your message you say you are looking for SNC between SAP GUI and SAP ABAP, but the help page you posted a link for is not related to this, but explains how to use SNC for CPIC.
If you are looking to use SNC for authenticating users of SAP GUI to SAP ABAP, then you have a number of options. If your SAP ABAP server is on Windows then SAP have a library which can be obtained for no cost to give you basic SSO using Active Directory authentication (aka Kerberos). If your SAP application server is on Unix or Linux, then you can look on SAP EcoHub for third party SAP certified products which provide this functionality. SAP have also just launched a new product which has some functionality for SAP GUI SSO, but this is not free.

You can put the help files on a windows server or a windows system on the same network and configure the online help documentation as shown below:
In Transaction SR13
a) Go to the Tab "HTMLHELPFILE"
b) Click the "New Entries" Button
c) Type the following input in the respective fields as given below.
variant: SAPHELP
Platform:
: WN32
Area: IWBHELP
Path:
SERVER_NAME\Software\SAPHelp\HTMLHELP\HELPDATA
Language: EN
Default: Click the check Button
Then click "SAVE" Button . This will prompt for change request which you can
transport it to Quality and Production System.

Modifying SAP standard help menu

I've been asked if it is possible to modify the SAP standard help menu, so that the user could potentailly click on a like that would call some custom documentation. Is this possible? And if not could it be done via a transaction - and how do you go about saving a word docuemtn somewhere that a SAP transaction could call it?

New to sap - need help in configure backup strategy for SAP XI server.

hi gurus
being a netweaver guy, recently i have been given the responsibility of few basis activities.like database backup.
can any one tell me clear procedure to take both daily online and weekend full offline backup of oracle in to disk first and then to tape. i have seen in the internet material few discussing about brbackup and few about sap DB13. i am totally confused which one to use, and which is good. please help

welcome on board as SAP Netweaver guy,
don't be confused both DB13 and BRtools are the same both of them will call brbackup.
to configure the brtools you have to change in your brtools profiles located at %ORACLE_HOME%/dbs
please before changing any thing take backup from that folder.
- to take the backup to disk then to tape you will need extra backup software, because using the SAP slandered tools you have to select either Disk or Tape.

How to configure edit mode in SAP screen help(F1)

When i open any screen in SAP , we use F1 option for help, there we will see technical options , application help and all..
In this options we have customization showing in display mode only, we need to change this option to change mode.

New To SAP need Help

Hi All,
I have a Master Degree In Computer Science (MCA [1998] From India).
Presently working as a Senior Programmer for a company located in NJ from 2003.
S/W Back Ground: Java, XML, VB, SQL, and JavaScript
Database: Oracle, Informix, and MYSQL
Platform: Windows, UNIX
In the present company most of my skills are used in printing languages like VIPP, XMPIE, OCE DDA, Pervasive, Data junction, Postscript. Most of the time i write basic java programs [Core java] and scripts (Unix shell)
I want to make carrier in SAP. But I have no idea where to start.
I'm interested in learning SAP NetWeaver.

SAP SD Help me to understand

Dear all,
I have over 13 years of work experience in various fields of sales, marketing, business development etc..and general management (administrative, accounts, process management).
I started hearing about SAP and decided to know more about it. I have inquire with some institutes that offer 90 hours -3 months course at a fees of Rs.18000/-.
all thos who know the field better advice me as to how will i beging?
I wish to get a better job oppertunity in Indai or abroad.
I also heard about the certification from siemens.
Now does any one knoe which is a good institute in Bangalore?

The best way to begin in SAP (in my opinion) is to get into a company already running SAP as an end user and learn to understand the processes. Either that or try to get into a company that may be implementing SAP in the future and get on the project team. However without the system knowledge or business process knowledge, youmay struggle.
After you have learnt the processes, start challenging the way things are done, find out it if there are more efficient ways of doing it. Build up a rapport with the support/development team.
We run "Super users" in the business - they deal with the day to day problems that users face and have a good understanding of both the business and the system, and they are normally the first port of call when we have vacancies in our development team. I am the team manager for S&D/Finance.
I would not hire someone without knowledge of both the system and the business. I have been interviewing recently and it is easy to find out who knows what. If you cannot apply the theory to the business I feel it shows a fundamental lack of understanding.
I would suggest saving your money and move to a company running SAP.

Cannot find SAP Input Help (F4 Help) logs

HI Basis All,
Somebody changed the layout in (Input Help (F4 Help) Settings in our PRD environment.
He logged in SAP in menu Help -->Settings
Set the F4 help and changed the display to Dialog (modal).
I have two questions:
1- Is there a way to see by logs who changed the layout?
I tried ST11 , SM20 and SM21 and did not find nothing.
2- Is there another way that the below to restrict these access ?
The way that i find is restricting the objetct S_ADMI_FCD S_ADMI_FCD=F4MX;

Hi Fio,
The Icon (G_BUTTON_CHANGE_SYS) is a Push button and it either exists for an user (S_ADMI_FCD : F4MX) or it does not.
Tried other ways but looks like the only option is to remove the value F4MX (S_ADMI_FCD object) to avoid end users changing this system setting in Help.
