SAP B1 Limitations

Dear All,
We plan to implement SAP B1 but need to know it's limitations with respect to item master records. We are a Publishing and Distribution Company presently having over 60000 items which will increase to around 500000 items in future.
Secondly if some one can let me know when does SAP expect to launch E-commerce and WebCRM module in India.
Thanks

60000 to 500000 items would be no problem for B1 to handle.  Some other customers may have more items and running fine. However, the hardware resource might be bottle net when the number of items growing.  You need to pay special attention to warehouse and price set up.  It could make great differences in case only small changes on your initial setting.
Thanks.

  • What are the SAP B1 limits

I am looking for any official SAP information on the limitations of transaction volume supported by B1. I have a client that will be recieving 10,000 web orders per day, of one or two lines on each order. B1 can likely handle taking these orders through a third party system like Ibolt. But the question is about SAP performance when we are adding 10,000 BP's per day, generating 10k deliveries and invoices per day. Will B1 slow down too much, even if we put strong hardware in place. The tables will grow rapidly and users searching for BP's or marketing douments and running reports will not wait for the system when they search. Has SAP released any benchmarks about performance and limits? Thanks

    Hi Peter,
SAP B1 is a solution for small and medium companies. it would be better to use SAP A1 if you want to implement in large companies.

  • SAP HANA Limitations

    Dear All,
Please let us know the maximum HANA DB Size and the recent Scale-out / Scalability recommendation from SAP .
Also please let us know the supportive document or SNOTE for the same.
    Thanks
    Arun R

    Hi Arun,
To know how much memory has been used by different objects in HANA database, then the easier way is to use the TOTAL_SIZE_IN_MEMORY (along with main, Delta etc) from M_CS_TABLES. This would give you idea of how much memory has been used by objects which are partially or fully loaded to memory. Please note that it give 0 value for the objects which are available in the systm, but not yet loaded to the memory.
    Please see this ote:

  • @Embeddable with java.uitil.Date in JPQL (limitations ?)

I'm facing with problem regarding using java.util.Date in JPQL query.

Is that some SAP JPA limitation that makes unable to query by date defined in @Embeddable classes ?
Of course query getByDate works fine.
    Best Regards

    Hi Daniel,
the query getByDate2 is OK and should work. This looks like a bug to me. If you have access to OSS, please file a ticket on BC-JAS-PER-JPA.
Have you tried typing beginPeriod with java.sql.Date. This might work. (I have not tried).

  • SAP tables for emails

    Hi
I want to know do some reporting on how many inbound emails received, name of attachment and recipient who emailed it.
I can get some detail from SOOD(attachment details etc..) however i was wondering where i can tie this up with corresponding email accounts who initiated the email. I know this ties up with ADRC tables however i cant seem to figure out how. Any thoughts please
    Regards
    Kalyan

    Hello Kalyan,
In transaction SCOT you have the "Inbox overview" utility, along with the "Overview of send orders" (SOST); I'm afraid that all the SAP statistical information should be taken here... Although there is no much historical info.
Bear in mind that the Mail service in SAP has limited funcionality, SAP "only" put the mails in your e-mail server and does not keep register of such actions; then, any statistical data should be taken from your  e-mail server.

  • How much to order , reorder point and Safety stock calculation in SAP?

Existing Client is Distribution company , the Challenge is how much order , when to order and how much safety stock we need to keep for Material in SAP?

u2022If a sales order is placed that consumes all of the inventory available, the purchasing department is not notified automatically to replenish the stock
u2022The system in place currently does not enable the organization to maintain a level of safety stock.

Sweth, you are asking for consulting, and in my opinion it is way beyond what can or should be reasonable to achieve in such a forum. You are asking complex questions, that most probable have more than one possible answer.

  • Handling the context when integrating SAP with WBIMB

I need to integrate SAP systems with an integration platform that is based on WebSphere Message Broker 5 (WBIMB). Now I am looking for a feasible solution to integrate these platforms.
I am concerned about how to handle the context when integrating SAP with WBIMB.
I have read the topic “SAP XI and WBI adapters” (SAP XI  and WBI adapters) in this forum with interest. However, my requirements are slightly different, and my knowledge on development in SAP is limited.
The WBIMB integration platform acts as an Enterprise Service Bus in a SOA. We have a general requirement about guaranteed delivery i.e. once and only once, and therefore the transport protocol is MQ. The HTTP protocol does not satisfy this requirement. Thus we can use Web Services when they are carried as SOAP messages over MQ, but SOAP/HTTP is not acceptable.
The SAP systems can act as service provider as well as service consumer. The WBIMB act as an intermediary, which routes service requests to the proper provider and service responses back to the consumer.
When acting as a service consumer, the SAP system shall specify the context such that WBIMB is able to route the service request to the service provider. Routing is based on the context, which is specified as a property in the MQRFH2 usr folder. Thus the MQ message containing the service request from the SAP system shall specify this usr property, and the value will depend on the requested service. In JMS, the value can be set by calling the TextMessage.setStringProperty method e.g. as TextMessage.setStringProperty(“MyContext”, “XYZ”).
When acting as a service provider, the SAP system shall pass the context from the request back in the response message to WBIMB. Actually, I want to pass the complete usr folder from request to response, because it contains more information than just the context property.
I need answers to the questions:
    1. How can I set the context from SAP when it acts as service consumer?
    2. How can I get SAP to pass the context (MQRFH2 usr folder) from request to response when it acts as service provider?
    3. I have looked at the SAP XI JMS Adapter. It looks as I can set additional JMS parameters. But the property value will depend on which service to call. Do I need to setup a JMS Adapter per service or can I set the value dynamically?
    4. Can the SAP XI JMS Adapter pass the context from request to response?
    5. Are there better alternatives than using the SAP XI JMS Adapter?
Many thanks for any help you can give me in advance.

    Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your answer. I expected it would turn out this way
So the good news is that when SAP is acting as service consumer it sounds fairly easy to set up a mapping from XI message to MQ context.
But when SAP acts as service provider it sounds as more customisation is required and I am worried about having to save the state. It will hit performance when the context is not carried as part of the message. In this case I prefer to use a generic solution on WBIMB, where I can handle the context for SAP (as well as other service providers). Then I only depend on the ability to set correlation in the response. But it will still cost performance because WBIMB also has to save the state on temporary MQ queue.
Ideally, the SAP XI/Adapter should be able to pass the context 'out-of-the-box' to better support intermediaries like the WBIMB as ESB. I put this on my wishlist
Anyway, I appreciate that you was able to confirm my observations.
    BR

  • SAP license usage problem

    Hi gurus,
We have limited no of licenses. Keeping that in mind, i am very careful with the usage. I have the following queries.
    1) What is the diffrence between SAP applications professional license, SAP  applications limited professional license, SAP Application employee self service license and  SAP application Developer.
    2) I am confused with the utilization of license
<b>e.g I have 3 developer license,  and 50 total license</b>. In that case IF i assign developer key to an existing users, <b>then will i be saving 3 users from total no of users, by not creating an independent developer user</b>  or I will be utilising two licenses for a single user i.e i) developer
                                             ii)SAP applications professional license
    3) When i disable user what happens with the license associated with that user and what happens to the license when i delete the user.??
I will be very thankful to you if you can also provide me, some links or notes that gives  indepth idea about all licensing related issues.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Asad,
First i would like to refer link https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/licenseauditing
Here you can get license audit complete details and will find how to use transactions USMM and SLAW for audit purpose.
Under USMM perform user classifications and execute system measurement to get measurement statistics .
SAP IS solution for Consumer product
For the above license you need to manually declare on your organization letter head and 'll have to send to SAP.
Hope this info will help you.

  • SAP Licensing

    HI All,
We are new client for SAP Software, recently we re-submitted our licencse numbers to SAP
    Professional
    Limited Professional
    Employee
    ESS
    Developer
SAP came back and said we are not supposed to use Limited Professional Lisence for company employees and should only be used for Business Partner. and this change is since 2007
Right now we have 5000 user base in our system, if we do not use Limited professional then would end up with lot of Professional Licence which is expensive. the people we identified as Limited professionals now have few change tcodes and majority of display tcodes. Can we shift all the Limited Professionals to Employee License ? will SAP buy that ?
Whats the work around ? has anyone come across this situation ?
    Thanks,

    will SAP buy that ?
Not sure, but you are close to home here on SDN...
    Whats the work around ?
You can give SAP a nice "heads-up" here of your work-around using the ponits system when someone posts a workaround for you. Make sure it is legal (little tip...).
Please contact your account manager to discuss (a.k.a. negotiate...) your contract terms.
The best model in my opinion is an enterprise license for the software and then you have no further user account restrictions for the standard SAP suite (exceptions are connectors and agents for non-SAP products in some cases).
    Cheers,

  • Error while database export in package SAPDODS_33 (Unicode conversion)

    Hello,
I am performing Unicode conversion on an upgraded BI 7.0 system. This is running on AIX/DB2.
When I take database export for conversion, one package fails (SAPDODS_33) with error "The file system is full". In fact, df -k doesn't show that any file system is full.
I am taking the export to the following location: /db2/BWS/sapdata/EXPORT_DIR
There are 3 system-managed temporary tablespaces: PSAPTEMP, PSATEMP16 & SYSTOOLSTMPSPACE which were residing in /db2/BWS/saptemp1/NODE0000. This was getting full during the export. Now these temp.tablespaces have been relocated to a new file system of size 15GB.
But still the package SAPDODS_33 doesn't get exported. Could you please let me know how to solve this issue?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Sundar,
if the problem is due to a high temp space usage. The root cause is typically the
sort during export. If the table is large, the sort spills to temp.
You can avoid the sort by doing an unsorted export or tweak the DB2 optimizer to use the primary key to do the sort.
Before DB2 9, you can reduce the OVERHEAD tablespace parameter to zero. Return this value to its previous value after the successful export. This is a indirect hint to the optimizer that random IOs are cheap. This might not help.
With DB2 9, this should not happen, because the  DB2_OPT_MAX_TEMP_SIZE=10240 registry variable is set under DB2_WORKLOAD=SAP which limits the temp space usage to 10GB if possible. You can reduce this parameter further if necessary. Another problem could be that the optimizer has chosen the wrong temp space. The optimizer choses the temp space with the largest amount of pages (not size).

  • User Licensing for Approvers in GRC AC 5.3

    Hi all
I am looking for some clarification regarding the user licensing.
In CUP, we have managers who will need AEApprover role to approve the user requests.
In our case, we have SAP EP as the single point of entry to the application (both ECC & GRC AC). Also
some of the managers who are involved in the approval process (in CUP) do not need access to the ECC backend system.
So managers only need an entry in the  AD(LDAP) which is the datasource for SAP EP, GRC AC. This means that GRC UME (authentication system for CUP) is the only place where the managers user profile are maintained.
Will these managers be accounted for SAP licenses?
My answer is No. The managers will not be accounted for SAP (prof/ limited prof) license cost as they do not have any access to the ECC system. All users in GRC system will be accounted for GRC AC licensing ( which is based on the operating budget of the organazation)
Appreciate if you can confirm whether my understanding is correct.
    Thanks
    Keerthika

Closing the request as this has been answered in the forum and I got a confirmative answer from SAP too..
    Rationale:
GRC users dont count for SAP ECC license unless they have a dialog user account in the ECC system.
    Thanks
    Kee

  • RFFOUS_C (Cheque) Variants in F110

    Good Morning -
This issue is in relation to the RFFOUS_C Program in, T-Code F110. I would like to know if SAP is limited to 40 (4 x 10 Columns) Variants per payment run (Screen number 205 & 206).
Our Company has grown in recent years, we use SAP ECC 6.0 so we have created seperate Chq/Paym Variants for each Subsidiary (about 60-70 variants).
At the moment we are restricted to 40 Variants in the Printout/Data Medium Tab (Further Selections Tab - Screen No. 206) in F110. There are 4 x 10 Columns of Variants (Field Names = VARI1 / /VARI2 / VARI3 & VARI4)
My question is can the number of columns/rows be increased to 5/6 columns of Variants, or by having additonal rows (more than 10) per column? If so please provide details and further instructions on how this can be done? Ideally we are not looking for a bespoke solution, if there is a SAP-Std fix, that would be ideal?
The Closest OSS Note I could find in relation to the above issue = 328896 (logged in 2001), I believe we have a higher support pkg (Supp - 602)!
    Thanks in Advance.

  • FBZP bank determination - restricting multiple accounts

    Hi Experts,
Would anyone know why SAP is limiting the number of Account IDs that can be maintained per House Bank in FBZP - Bank Determination - Bank Accounts?
    i.e.
    Payment Method: C
    Currency: PHP
    House Bank: XXX1
    Account IDs:
    CA01
    CA02
    CA03
FBZP only allows the following entries:
    XXX1     C     ____     CA01     110123
    XXX1     C     PHP     CA02     110124
SAP is not allowing more than 2 entries with the same HouseBank and PM.
I don't see any risk of allowing the maintenance of multiple entries and I am wondering why this restriction is put up by SAP at all.. Could someone please enlighten me?
    Thanks

    Hello David,
You can maintain bank detials with more than two bank IDs but currency should be different.
System will not allow to maintain even more than one ID if currency will be same.
Now the question is why system will not allow more than one IDs if the currency is same.
In Ranking Order you have to maintain,
Payment method, currency, Ranking order and house bank.
Now suppose you enter payment method C for currency PHP keeping ranking order 1 for house bank XXX1 which is having account IDs CA01, CA02 and CA03.
If you will maintain two IDs or more than two IDs for payment method C currency PHP and house bank XXX1 in Bank details, in this case system will not be able to decide the account ID to post due to having the same payment method, currency and house bank.
Hence, SAP does not allow to maintain more than one ID for same payment method and same currency.

    Mohammed Kalim
