SAP B1 Web Enabled?

Hi all,
I need to know whether SAP B1 is Web Enabled. If no then how to web enable it ?

Using the words 'Web Enabled' makes it hard to figure out what you need.
Some clients just mention the phrase 'Web Enabled' even when all they want is a remote connection to the Database.
Remote connection with SAP B1 can be achieved via Terminal Service or CITRIX.
Web based data entry would require you to build a front end in web language, and link it back to the SAP B1 database. I'd suggest you take a look at Ibolt since this is what the software is designed for. When you do this, you need to remember that you loose all the feature functions of the SAP Client like drag and drop, adding form settings etc

  • Web Enabling SAP R/3 Transactions in the Portal

    Hi,
Our requirement is to web enable SAP R/3 (>4.6) transactions in the portal (EP 6.0). We don't want to check for user authorization in the portal as all these things are done in the R/3 system. We just want to have an iView in the portal which will show all the transactions user is authorized for (in the R/3 system). I think it will be something similar to when the user logs into the R/3 system using SAP GUI.
Just to make it more clear, I am not looking for web enabling of a single R/3 transaction. I am looking for the web enabling of R/3 system as a whole in the portal.
Can anyone please tell the steps to do the same?
Please let me know for any clarifications.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hi ,
Well first of all, nthis kind of interface is not suggested. But still if you need this kind of interface.
then you need to have a seperate installation of ITS server. You need to define a SAP transaction based Iview.
In property you can call any normal transaction, which gererally every user will have access to.
Now attach this iview to any existing iview or create a new iview in Portal Content.
Add the concerned page to a role/create a workset and add this page to it. and workset to concerned user role.
this will take care of your requirement.
if you need exact steps please let me knoe.

  • Window size of web-enabled SAP transaction in an iView

I have a problem which maybe a bug concerning a web-enabled SAP transaction within a Portal iView.  If the transaction is an ABAP report or a Dynpro program that requires a wide display area, the display is cut-off which requires to user to use the scroll bars.  However, if manually entering the SAP transaction within the tCode input-field of the web-enabled transaction inside the iView, the window length changes and thereby the scroll bar disappears.
I would like to know how to set the inital width of the web-enabled iView so that there are no scroll bars when the iView opens an SAP transaction which requires a wide display area.  I've tried both the Wizards for creating iViews for R/3 and SAP transactions without success.

    Hi,
You have to set the iview property to FULL-PAGE and height to be some 8000 in the portal then the problem solves.

    Lakshmi.

  • Web Enabled SAP environments

I would be interested to know why people have chosen to use PHP in a SAP environment.
I started using PHP with SAP because the clients I worked for did not have a SAP environment with any web functionality. Therefore without PHP it would be quite difficult to create any web based applications with SAP integration.
If you have the luxury of working within a web enabled SAP environment, why would you use PHP to integrate with SAP?
The latest SAP products provide tools to create native web applications.

I'm actually coming from the side where you have your ABAP developers and your web developers and now with the current state of things management wants the two working together.
For smaller companies they have most likely used PHP or something similiar because of costs, I mean the ABAP and SAP people stole all the money for licenses right? OK, that was just a joke.
But for a smaller company the dual development environment could be the more cost effective solution. The ABAP people may have no web experience or time for development in the web environment whereas the web developer most likely have no ABAP experience and therefore that dual situation is already in exsitence.
I work for a rather large company and we have this actually. Or ABAP people have no web development experience and our, in this case, JAVA guys have no SAP experience however many of our JAVA guys have played around with PHP so therefore they can now use JCo or SAPRFC.  For us the idea is that we continue to build the JAVA or PHP apps since there are so many of them and now begin to integrate calls via RFC to SAP backend systems.
So it depends on which angle you take JAVA/PHP could be the primary language and ABAP the secondary or vice versa it all depends on which developer you talk to.
And becasue of resources, cost, time etc. the dual environment is a better way to go. Now eventually in time the idea is bring the two completely together in which case both environments would no longer be neccessary - however no one knows when that will occur so until then...

  • What is best way in sap to make a transaction web enabled?

what is best way in sap to make a transaction web enabled?
Is it through BSP, ITS, iView, web dynpro java, webdynpro abap?

Are you referining to a custom transaction?  If not then simply use se80 and SICF.  I have implemeted ECC6 ITS on just a ABAP Stack.  You might find the doument, Migrating ITS Services with Flow Logic helpful.  It can be downloaded from https://sapmats-de.sap-ag.de/download/download.cgi?id=77GL5Z5I3NF1TD0D3F59HJ633N847EXOMEZQXKYP3FM4VG0D5R
With ERP you can take advatage of all at the same time.  My comapny didn't have a lot of JAVA developers so we found ITS and canned webdynpro the easiest solution.

  • Problem in web enabling ALV ABAP report via ITS. Please help!

    Hi Experts,
I have a report that has a selection screen. On executing the selection screen an ALV output loads displaying data based on the selection criteria.
I have web enabled it via ITS. I have used SICF transaction.
When I run the internet service I can see only the selection screen. There is no execute button also. I also see a different layout then if my report has only selection screen. If my report has only selection screen then my page shows all the buttons including execute.
How to resolve this problem? Please help!
    Thanks
    Gopal

since you mentioned about SICF, i assume you are using integrated ITS.
<i>When I run the internet service I can see only the selection screen. There is no execute button also</i>
you wont see the execute icon, instead you will see a button with "execute" text. (you can also use F8 key)
<i>I also see a different layout then if my report has only selection screen. If my report has only selection screen then my page shows all the buttons including execute.</i>
the layout of SAPGUI for HTML is slightly different, if you want (somewhat) similar look of a wingui, either make your transaction as "Easy Web Transaction" or in the url pass ~webtransactiontype=EWT
as a test can you run the following url and see how it looks.
    http://waserverhost.domain.com:port/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=<clinetno>&~transaction=<you reports transaction code>

  • WEB ENABLING OF R/3 TRANSACTIONS IN PORTAL

    Hi,
I was going through different forums on SDN regarding this subject and at lot of places, it is said that ITS takes care of conversion of R/3 screens to html screens. So even if it is a custom transaction, developer doesn't need to worry for web enabling a transaction in the portal.
Now I have two questions regarding this
    1. How to web enable a standard transaction?
    1. Is web enabling for a standard transaction and custom transaction done in the same way? If not, how is it done for custom transactions.
    2. If web enabling (conversion from sap gui to html) is taken care by ITS itself, what is the need of importing business packages on the portal side.
Any response to this is highly appreciated.
Please let me know for any clarifications.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    > 1. How to web enable a standard transaction?
You need to have your SMICM and SICF settings in place and running.
    > 1. Is web enabling for a standard transaction and
    > custom transaction done in the same way? If not, how
    > is it done for custom transactions.
In ITS you need to develop and publish an Internet service which is roughly an equivalent to r/3 transaction.
    > 2. If web enabling (conversion from sap gui to html)
    > is taken care by ITS itself, what is the need of
    > importing business packages on the portal side.
I'm not entirely familiar with the SAP portal solution, but once the service is published through ITS it is accessible through any browser, so any portal not just from SAP should be able to display it.
One big benefit of having 640 over earlier versions is to have one sap instance serve the web pages to your browser.
The actual human interface of "web-enabled" transactions is very similar to standard sapgui, so it looks like the old transaction, but is often slower and more clunky.

  • Possible (and secure) architectures for E-Recruitment Web Enabled???

    Hello,
i need informations about posible (and secure) architecture solutions for E-Recruitment Web Enabled.
I found one basic exsample in the E-Recruiting system architecture guide, but it is a exsample from 2003.
do someone use E-Recruiting web enabled and in what for a topology?
    regards
    chris

    Hellow Christian,
Successful e-recruiting relies on strong long-term relationships with both current and potential employees u2013 and on the ability to locate appropriate positions for talented individuals from within and outside the organization. The SAP E-Recruiting application offers innovative support for talent relationship management, as well as traditional central recruiting functions.
SAP E-Recruiting, a fully Web-enabled, end-to-end recruiting solution, accelerates and streamlines the recruiting process with a comprehensive strategy that that enables your company to build up and draw from a qualified, global pool of internal and external talent. Recruiters can take advantage of this talent pool to quickly find the staff they need, while collaborating closely with hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
Applicant tracking and reporting functions help organize the processing of job applications and monitor the effectiveness of the recruiting organization. A collaboration platform links SAP E-Recruiting to external systems such as job boards, recruiting service providers, and your company's internal systems.

  • Where is the URL defined for web enabled transactions / PFCG execute?

    Hi
One of our developers is having an issue. Apparently, when executing a web enabled transaction from within PFCG (in the menu structure right-click and choose u2018executeu2019) the Internet Explorer on the client is started with a url to:  http://www-s1pprint.ourcompany.com/sap/bc/webdynpro/.... which is incorrect (note our system SID is S3D but it was copied from S1P, however, what is the 'print' part??)
When testing the exact same service from SICF it is working well and goes to the correct URL http://www.esd3002a.ourcompany.com/ etc, so the reference must come from another source. We'e checked parameters in SM59, RZ10 and SMICM so far and can't find anything relevant.
    Where is this set?
    Thanks
    Ross

What's the content of the parameter
    icm/host_name_full
    (check using RZ11).
Does this return the proper full qualified hostname? If yes,  check the hosts file and/or DNS of the server whether the IP resolves to the proper name and vice versa.

  • Has SAP released Web Tools for a 64 bit system?

Has SAP released Web Tools for a 64 bit system? It was my understanding earlier in the year that SAP would be releasing WebTools in the 3rd quarter 2008 for a 64 bit system. Does anyone know the status of this release? Thank you, Vicki Merritt

We have a test build that enables 32-bit emulation of the synch manager and synch service, but not for the website.
FP1 is tentatively scheduled to go into rampup in November, and we are still investigating how to get the website to run in 64-bit environment.
This test build of the Synch Manager doesn't show the B1 db version but we have successfully synchronized our test company databases with it and so far no major issues.
You can contact me if you would like to give it a try.

  • Web Enabled Moules

    Hi All,
which modules are web-enabled. Is reporting also web enabled?
I want some documentation  related to this topic .
    Thanks,
    Saritha.

SAP Web Application Server (SAP Web AS), together with SAP Enterprise Portal and SAP Exchange Infrastructure, is one of the central modules of SAP NetWeaver. SAP Web Application Server is the scalable and reliable component platform for the development and operation of J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) and ABAP-based web applications and web services. It offers proven scalability and performance, but also supports native web technologies and open standards such as HTTP, XML or J2EE. SAP Web Application Server provides both ABAP and J2EE environments in a shared, integrated infrastructure. <b>It is thus the SAP infrastructure for both new and existing application components, and serves also as a basis for SAP R/3 Enterprise (now: mySAP Enterprise Resource Planning), for example.</b>

  • Web enable of Custom transaction

    Hi Group,
I have a requirement to web enable a custom dialog transaction on the intranet/internet. I wanted to know whether it is possible and how much effort will it take.
What all possible solutions are available? What are the advantages of using one over the other.
Please let me know at the earliest.
    Regards,
    Ankur Bhandari

    Hi Ankur
The easiest method is using SAP GUI HTML method of ITS.There you need not do anything . If you have ITS You can directly call the transaction onto web without much effort.but some of the controls does not work properly in this method as it is autmatically converted to web.this is the easiest and very less time consuming method.
There are other methods of ITS also available. where you can change the templates or create your own templates for web.
You can also go for BSP's where you can design the screen and write the logic again in ABAP.
