SAP-BASIS--ABAP
Hi Gurus,
When I run custom report in Production, I get different outputs when they are run in Background & Foreground.
I get one report output in foreground and different ouput in foreground.
But when my co-user runs the same report , he gets same output both in background & Foreground.
urgent.
Full points assured for right answer.
Thanks,
USR
Hi
What's the report Output and based on what parameters that report is using/generated?
if at all it is using some user specific data then there may be a chanceto get different results in different systems for different users.
Have to see the code and analyse further.
Reward points if useful

SAP Basis/Abap components with diff Version inEnterprise Service Builder
Dear Experts,
We have PI 7.4 system in our environment, when i check content in ESR, i have found different versions components as below.
SAP ABA 7.30
SAP BASIS 7.02 & SAP BASIS 7.40
I would like to know, since system is 7.4 version, do I need to maintain SAP ABA & Basis with 7.4 content only. Would there be any impact on developments/Models which are done using above version of ESR Content if I upload 7.40 Version content.
If I am not wrong developments/Models done with above versions would work with 7.40 too, but keen on to know what would be impact if I upload
7.40 Content in system.
Is there any possibility migrate developments/models/object to *tpz from above versions to 7.40 , if required.
I have checked SAP Note 1632370 - Maintenance of ESR Content (XI Content),SAP Note 1865292 - SAP NetWeaver 7.4: Import of ESR-Content,
and also link Importing ESR Content - Configuring Process Integration (PI) After Installation - SAP Library
still i dont see any information related to PI 7.4
SAP Note 1632370 has attachment where it only provides 7.30 version related ESR information.
Regards
ksHi Giridharan,
Thanks for reply.
I have gone through sap note 1868799 - SAP Basis ESR content versions after PI upgrade had clarified my questions.
There is no issue with seeing multiple versions of the SAP Basis content in the ESR or in the Integration Builder.
The Communication Channels will continue to work as normal using the old SAP Basis version.
The SAP Basis content contains the Adapter Metadata.
New adapter features are delivered with this Adapter Metadata.
If you have no business requirement to use any new features, then you don't need to make any changes to the existing channel configurations.
If you do have a requirement to use any new features, then you will need to change from the pre-upgrade version to the new PI version.
New channels can use either the older SAP Basis versions or the new SAP Basis version (it makes more sense to use the newer version).
Regards

Sap basis /netweaver admin
Guys,
For some one to start in sap basis admin, what are the recommended OSS notes or pdf / link available.
THANKSHello John,
To start with, a basis admin, ABAP Engine, should be through with the R/3 concepts and transaction codes. Then, you can proceed with the Java engine. So, I suggest you to use the following links.

ABAP or SAP Basis Administration
Hello,
i want to learn SAP. As modul i don't know, which one is better? (ABAP with Netweaver or SAP Basis Administration.)
Which one do you find better and why?
i would be appreciated, if you would inform me.
Best regards,I recommend you to go for SAP Basis , Which is less stressful than ABAP programming with OOPS concept
What an unfounded statement.
Which one do you find more stressful?
Which one earns more Money?
People don't join a career to avoid stress or to make money out of it (those are just consecuenses). You should consider your options based on your talent, your experience, your ability to learn.

I had the same problem, but i didn't get any answer in that forum.
I deinstalled the SAP Software (regard the end of the threat
https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=22036513&messageID=6625975) and then I installed the software again. Then the system ran and i didn't have any more problems with the message server.
I didn't installed the MS Loopback Adapter, because i am connected to a network.
Best regards,

Hello,
I am a network professional working in the past 20 years supporting Novell and Microsoft OS and applications. Now I am looking for a path to start a different career.
I have chosen SAP system to start the new career, but I got many questions because its career options (many of them) and after get some information from a friend of mine that has been working as SAP Consultant since long back, I am thinking about SAP BASIS career.
Does someone could let me know if SAP Netwaver training are the correct path to start SAP BASIS career?
Does someone has idea about the salary average for SAP BASIS professionals?
Does someone has information about how this role is going on the job market in Canada?
Thank you.
Emersonvisit SAP education site - https://training.sap.com/ca/en/
required courses for SAP Basis are:
ABAP Administration:
ADM100 – ABAP Administration
ADM102 – AS ABAP – Administration II
Database: One of the database course (oracle, DB2, MS-SQL, Maxdb etc)
For example:
ADM505 – Database Administration Oracle I
ADM506 – Database Administration Oracle II
Portal (JAVA)
ADM200 – AS Java 7.0x – Administration
Solution manager:
SM100 – SAP Solution Manager Configuration for Operations
Not all these courses are required if you have some experience in SAP Basis module. If you are fresher and then I would suggest go through these. The java / solution manager documentation you can find on the help.sap.com.
The companies will have installation of combination : ABAP, ABAP+java, only java etc... -

SAP Basis administrators role on new dimensional products like BW, EP, SRM
Hello All,
I have been working as a SAP basis administrator and still fail to understand what are the main administrative roles as a SAP BASIS administrator on new dimentional products like BW, EP, SRM, MDM etc. aprt from installing them and basic security work.
The respective technical consultants are already present like BW consultant, EP consultant but in the intervies/job portals they ask a SAP Basis administrator for administrative experience on new dimentional products.
Can anyone clear these doubts.
Thank youMy opinion if it need for your enterprise (and you can learn it on sap courses for example) not problem to administrate this products, every BW or EP or SRM has a part of Basis adm. and every of them are on ABAP or JAVA .... But special settings and configuring BW for example are under BW administartors protection...
It differs from the opportunities of Enterprises and knowledge of a particular person ...

Voting Thread for the SAP NetWeaver ABAP Developer Edition for Linux
Hi Everyone,
as Mario Herger suggested in the discussion to his Blog [New Community Developer License is available|/people/mario.herger/blog/2010/01/20/new-community-developer-license-is-available] I start the topic requesting a SAP NetWeaver ABAP Developer Edition for Linux.
Best regards
GregorI think having a pre-packaged VMWare machine running on Windows or Linux would be great as it would help a lot of the non-Basis consultants get a system up and running. Perhaps even offer it as an AMI package on AWS so that hardware is not an issue.
I'd also like to see the traditional installation packages offered as many technical consultants use the build as a process to look at installation issue and post installation configuration.
I think both the pre-built and build it from scratch approaches have an audience here on SDN and I'd like to see both being offered.
In fact I'm just looking at the new license options one of which come with the DVD's which is ideal but at a price!
Thanks,

Hi!
Will be there a SAP BASIS forum topic? Now all basis guys are asking thir questions in the ABAP general, and they mostly have no answers, because the ABAPers could not help them...
There are not so many BASIS relevant questions, but this might be forum might help them a lot...
Thank you
TamáSpecifically, I think the SAP NetWeaver Administrator forum is the one that is meant to be for "Basis" related topics.

Hi guys,
For IPv6 support, based on note 1346768,
===================================
o You use AS ABAP with a SAP Kernel 7.10 and at least patch level
150 or a SAP Kernel of Version 7.11 or 7.20.
====================================
How can the SRM/ECC/Netweaver products use IPv6? As far as I know, version 7.1 has not been released for these products yet. Can we upgrade the SAP Basis support pack only to 7.1?
Thanks!Hi,
You already gave yourself the answer : "version 7.1 has not been released for these products yet".
So it means that IPV6 support is not yet possible for SRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0.
You have to wait for SAP and most probably you will have to do a full upgrade of the product and not only of Netweaver.

Generation of SAP BASIS 7.10 USERDETAILS failed
Hello to all,
i hope anybody can help me. I have installed a new MI 7.10 and patched it to Lvl. 7 (ABAP and BASIS).
Then i tried to do all the necessary steps for administration as they are described in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/de/45/17a790d8000064e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
But whenever i came to the step Downloading Details into User-Details Data Object the step failed. Now i searched this forum and found that i have to generate the Data Object USERDETAILS in the SWKV SAP BASIS 7.10. This step also fails with an error message 'Attribute RFC_DEST already exists' and the backend Adapter USER_DET_BA is not generated.
Anyone an idea how to solve this problem?
Best regards,
MathiasDear Mathias,
You have to do the step with the RFC Destination created. Did you select the load type as Initial Download? (Edited to contain the word Download)
Did you check out the following notes for SP07: 1263664, 1268773. Please make sure that you apply all the compulsory notes.
Also try restarting the server and trying the step again.
Also, just as a confirmation, are you doing it from the client you created or client 000. Are the general post installtion stms, initial profiles done?
Regards,
Veera

Any idea what causes this error.
Thanks for your help.
MadhuHi Vijay,
1.Check the pre-requsites of Basis patch # 9.
2.What is your abap patch # ?
3.Sometimes if you apply the patches by bundling them in queue,it will error out.
4.Try to clear the import queue, and apply the patches one after another instead of in queue.
I hope this helps,reply back.
