SAP BEX keyfigure dispalying 'X'

Hi All,
Character replacementpath with formulae variable of key figure displaying 'X' for alpha numeric characters.
please suggest how to conver 'X' to value 1 of keyfigure.
Thanks and Regards,
Uma

HI Uma,
Sorry to ask this. just trying to understand your requirement. on checking your previous thread,
this KF is created just for conditions apply ie. if KF = 0, then hide the records.
if so, it can still show as "X" right.  if i understand, if the KF value is "X" or "any numeric", you wanted to show those records in report.
we can simply hide this KF from the report layout right? why we need to show other value here, instead of "X"?

Sakthi.

  • WebI report based on Universe upon SAP BEx Queries:Prompt issue

    Hi,
I am creating Web Intelligence report using Universe based on SAP Bex Queries. In WebI report I created a filter condition as I need to run report based on two specidc dates. I need to schedule report to run 2nd of every month to show data for last month. At present I have the following filter : date between 'Start Date' and 'End Date'. 'Start Date' should always be 'first date of previous month' and End Date be always must be 'Last date of previous Month'. How to do this. The solution I thought would be to create  variables at report/universe level ('first date of previous month' and 'Last date of previous Month') and use in the filter using 'Object from this Query' option. But this 'Object from this Query' option is missing in the prompt. Is there any work around to achieve this.? Could you please help me.

    Hi all,
I have a related question too.
I have 2 queries and need a Combined BEx query written on this for reporting. (WebI)
In the 2 queries, there is a Field which needs to be restricted.
But this field should not be restricted in the Combined BEx query.
So I thought of restricting the Field at the report level. But in this case, the user gets a prompt to enter a value for the field.
And this is not desirable as per the requirement.
COuld you please tell me if there is another way of handling this without the user being prompted to enter a value while the report is being run, but still I need selection at the Field level.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • How to remove Decimals in Quantity Objects in SAP BO Explorer View created on top SAP Bex Query?

    Hi,
I created SAP BO Explorer report on top of SAP BEx Query.
In SAP BEx Query, Decimals were hided but when i created OLAP Universe on top that SAP BEx Query and Created Index on top of Information Space in SAP BO Explorer and then created Exploration Views. But i'm getting Decimals in my Exploration Views where as SAP BEx Query in RSRT, no decimals were appearing.
Can anyone suggest me how to remove decimals in SAP BO Exploration Views.

    Hi Ramana,
I am not use how you connect to SAP BEx query (Via universe or BWA or HANA)
What I could say is BWA and HANA, you cannot adjust this
For universe, you could try in universe layer, there is note about this
For BWA and HANA, this function might be enhanced but you 'd better raise OSS to SAP to check with them

  • No. of Connections needed for creating universes from SAP BEx Queries

    Hello,
I have 8 SAP BEx queries, my task to create to universe for all of these queries. I have created a datasource connection, my question here is can I use the same connection for all the queries by changing datasource connection and selecting the new query or is it suggestable to create 8 datasource connections in universe designer??
please let me know if you need any more info.
    Your reply is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Naresh

    HI,
You need to create 8 connection for 8 BW queries. There is  one to one mapping in the universe. If you change the existing connection source then it will not work for earlier query.
Other thing you can check like you have 8 queries then instead of creating 8 universe if possible then merge some queries in the single bw query and then create universe.
    Thanks,

  • SAP BEX Calculated Column

    Hi ,
I would like to thanks to all who helped me in getting my work done for my previous questions.
This time i came up with some new questions ... is there a way to create a calculated column in the SAP BEx query ? I dont have global query edit permissions but i can chage the Local View of the query.
    1 )
I have a Original Hire Date and Most Recent Hire Date as two columns in the BEX Query, when i refresh the query it will populate in tow different columns which is usual. But, i would like to combine these two DATE columns (based on some criteria) as one and want to produce as a single DATE columns.
    would it be possible... ?
    2)
I have two query's in a workbook and the first query will give the employees ID's which i have import in the second query. Is ther any way to import these ID's in to Second query automatically through VBA or some other code ... ?
Thanks in Advance for you kind help.

    Hello,
    Both are possible.
    1) Please go through the following links:
    due date minus current date
    http://forums.sdn.sap.com/search.jspa?q=date%20bucket&objID=c4&dateRange=all&searchID=72203772&rankBy=10001&start=30
    2) Id directly can not import into the query. but you can display at the end of the query(Left, right,Top,Bottom). You have to use simple excel formula : =+sheet1!A1. It will display all values from sheet1 starting from cell A1 in sheet2 .
    Thanks.
Please let me know if you need further help.
    Thanks.
    With regards,

  • How to design a optimized universe from SAP BEx queries

    Hi Team,
I would like to know some of the queries :
1.How can you design a optimized universe from SAP BEx queries in the sense which gives you more performance
2.What are the differences between Non SAP sources like Oracle,SQL and SAP sources in designing the Universe.
3.Can we create a Derived table from an SAP source because i know that the Schema is not created for BEx queries, cubes.
4.What are the advantages of having oracle as a source then SAP source.
Can you please elobarate the above queries.
    Regards,
    Pradeep P.

    Hi,
    1. Check Ingos Blog on SDN ther are some PDF for performance regarding WebI on BW
    2. On RDBMS Source you have to design your universe. On OLAP Source like BW you generate the Universe and cant customize it a lot.
    4. Good question. In a BW all your logic is already in place. On a RDBMS you have to build your logic in a universe. But there are a lot of differences.
    Regards
    -Seb.

  • Universe Connections for SAP BEx

    Hi All,
We are planning to build couple of Universes over SAP BEx query.
Could anyone inform if we should go for creating a single connection and use it for all Universes (or) Create multiple connections.
Does having different connections for different Universes(though Data Warehouse-BW) is same helps in increasing report performance?
    Thank you.
    - AK

    Hi,
It all depends on your requirement. There are few ways.
You can create one super universe on the top of your BW Query and then create your reports using your super universe.
Or you can create multiple universes and then create your reports.
Basically one universe one connection. SAP Universes are different then other universes where you create one connection.
In SAP environment one universe one connection.
    Hope it helps.

  • System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259) in using SAP BEX

    Hi i All,
I encountered an error, System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259). Unspecified Error followed by "Out of memory" message, when running my SAP BEX. I tried re-installing my SAP GUI and Excel but the error still persists.
    Please advice, Carlo

    Guys,
its not a problem with BEx analyzer version.
The problem is with the memory allocated to view a particular WP. If you carefully check sm50 while executing this workbook, you will see the workprocess that is used to execute this workbook. Double click and u can see the details of this workprocess. How much of memory is taken, how much time has this WP been executing this workbook. If the queries in the workbook fetch a lot of data, then you probably might get this error. Ask your Basis guy to increase the memory used by the WP.
    hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Sree.

  • SAP BEX 3.0B Patch 17

    Hi
Sorry I have already open a topic for my problem but i haven't found the solution.
    My problem is :
a user want to print multiple queries editing only one time the parameters.
So I have thinked to use OLAP connection for the queries, but I have to use the format sheets for each one like in SAP BEX 3.0B Patch 17.
Someone has told me to read Re: supress variable-entry-window (SAP-Exit) but in my SAP BEX I can't find the sheet like SAPBEXFILTERS, SAPBEXQUERIES etc etc.
And then I can upgrade the SAPBEX if I wil make some changes to it.
    Please help me
    Thank you

Sorry but I don't undestand how can I do?
You can make an example..... are you sure that the SAP GUI form for the parameters don't appear?

  • SAP Bex Bi4.0 Integration - Data delegation

    Hi Experts,
    SAP Bex Bi4.0 Integration
The Key Figures which uses Standard Aggregation or exception aggregation in SAP Bex appear as Data Delegated in Webi.
Thus we are unable to add any conditions on such variables which lead to "#Unavailable" error.
Is there any solution or work around for the same??
    Many Thanks
    Akshay

What is your BO version? If you are above SP4, this issue should not be a problem with SUM aggregation type Key Figures.
If you are still having problem, you can create variables and set it as Detail object to related dimension. In your report block, you can put both the dimension and your detailed variable. After that, hide the dimension.

  • I need to know the user who has created/modified a SAP Bex Query and WAD

    Hi!
I need to know the user who has created and modified a SAP Bex Query and SAP  Web Application Designer. Does it possible to know this information by a table or view?
    Best Regards
    Ramon Sanchez

    Hi,
In BEx query, when you click "Queries" to open the query, the list of queries are displayed. Highlight the query, click on the "Properties On/Off' icon(right most on the top), you would see all the details.
In WAD, before opening the template, click on "Properties On/Off'" icon to see the details.

  • SAP Bex: Not Enough cells to display result

    Hi,
In BW 3,5 Analyzer, if user typed some values next to the reported columns and then tried to drill down on columns say characteristics profit center, the system used to display a message with options like below:
''SAP Bex: Not enough cells to display result
-TO extend the result areas to the right:
    0 Overwirte the existing cells
0 insert cells next to the results area
    0 insert entire columns''
After upgrading the query to 7.0, the Analyzer does not pop-up this information and it simply overwrites the existing cells.
Can you please advise, if there are some settings in BI 7.0 which can enable pop-up of this information window with above options?
    Please suggest.
    Best Regards,
    UR

    Hi,
Try setting the cells which are not to be overwritten as formulas and refreshing them which may not overwrite those cells.
    Thanks,
    Arun

  • SAP BEx query's Conditions and Exceptions on BO Universe

We are planning to create Conditions and Exception on SAP BEx Query. And provide this query to BO team for their development
Could anyone tell me in what form will these BEx objects be visible in BO-Universe ....as detail objects...or query filters and a.s.o?
Will they be Invisible? If invisible will they be atleast applied to BO-Universe.
For e,g: I know that, BEx Query filter will be applied to the underlying query but are not visible in OLAP universe.
    - Anil

    Hi,
Conditions and Excpetions are not supported by OLAP BAPI tehrefore they are not generated in universes or consumed at query level.
You have to create conditions on measures in universes (except top end bottom exceptions that are not supported).
Exceptions need to be done at cliient level (Webi, XCelsius, etc).
I BOE CI 4.0 conditions will be supporte by the Semantic Layer direct acces with BICS but exceptions will continue to be created at client level.
