  • Not able to acess SOA consoles after SOA 10G installation on Linux machine

    Hi,
We have done SOA 10G installation on VM ware machine which was configured on a windows box. After installation we are able to access the BPEL/ESB/EM consoles directly from the server where the installation is done but not able to access the same from our local machine.
    Please advice.
    Thanks & Regards,

How do you try to access console? what url do you use?
From what components you want to check the ports asigned? Only Oc4j's, webcache, http_server and oid should show something here.
Did you check the file $OH/install/portlist.ini and opmn.xml, rmi.xml?

  • Analysing SAP Java Memory Usage in Unix/Linux

    Hi,
I need to analyze the SAP Java memory usage of Unix /Linux machine..NW 7.0
Please guide with the commands and steps..complete prcedure.
Based on it I should decide whether to create a new server node (or) increasing heap size
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Do you have performance problems?
How many CPU's are in the server?
Did you check Log Configuration for delays or errors?
Did you tune any exisiting parameters?
You can add the nodes only if there is performance problems. You may think of adding one node to start with
Proper number of server nodes within an instance:
    u2013 #ServerNodes = availableMemory / (JavaHeapPermSpaceStack)
You can calculate the server nodes based on below formula
No. of server Node = (RAM you want to assign or available RAM in GB)/2.5 ============> for 64-bit system
No. of server Node = (RAM you want to assign or available RAM in GB)/1.5 ============> for 32-bit system
Hence as per above discussion, we should go with 5 server nodes means,
    5 = RAM/2.5 (Assuming you are on 64-bit platform)
    i.e. RAM = 12.5 GB
2). u2013 Configure JVM heap according to Note 723909 and Note 1008311 - Recommended Settings for NW 7.0 >= SR2 for the AIX JVM (J9)

  • SOA Suite Installation on Linux 64 bit machine

    Hi,
I have to install Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 on a Linux 64 bit machine. I want to install Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 version on the machine because any version above will not be supported on my machine. Here is the list of components I want to install.
    1. Oracle Database
    2. Weblogic server
    3. RCU
    4. SOA Suite
    5. JDeveloper extension
    7. BPM extension
    8. Oracle Service Bus
Can anybody tell me where can I get the downloadables for these components for Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 which is Linux 64 bit compatible. I searched the Oracle website but can't find it anywhere? I also looked at edeilivery site of oracle, but no luck. However, if anybody has the URL's to directly download it, then please share.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh G

    Anuj,
Thanks for your response. I can't raise an SR with Oracle since I am learning this on my own.
However to answer your question, I am using Processor AMD, 1.6GhZ with 4 GB RAM.
I have made my system dual boot with Windows 7 and Suse Linux 12.3, both 64 bit operating systems
I have tried to install 11.1.1.6 on my system on windows but the installation got hanged. And when I went for 11.1.1.5 on windows, the installation was smooth and I have it installed on windows7. But now I want to learn to install it on Linux machine also thats why I am asking for 11.1.1.5 downloadables.

    Dear Sadiq,
From DB point of view there is no problem to install two separate databases
of DB2 on one machine. The DB2 source files are installed into different directories and will not
    impact each other.
After installing the software, the DB2 instance called "db2<SID>' is
created with the DB2 version you choose. The installation procedure
    depends on the SAP release.
Whether of not your machine is able to handle both systems running on one server depends on
    the hardware and settings.

    Paul

  • How to bind an IIS to the enterprise portal installed on a linux machine

    Dear all,
I am very new to the topic of Enterprise Portal.
Our intention is, to develop .NET IViews and deploy them in the Enterprise Portal.
The Enterprise Portal Server is set up on a linux machine.
The Guy who did install the Portal Server, has no idea how to "integrate" the Microsoft IIS to the Portal.
After deploying my .net Component, i tried to view this component in the portal (by right clicking the mouse on the Component in in the .NET Solutions Explorer).
This gives me the following error:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occured while processing a request for:
    iView:N/A
    Component Name: N/A
Could not find portal application com.sap.portal.dotnet.framework.
    Exception id: 02:06.......
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
I think that this has something in common with integrating the IIS on the Linux Machine, and maybe additionaly installing the pdk.net on the IIS webserver machine which should be used.
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards

    Hi,
Welcome to the world of Enterprise portal
Seems to me like you are trying to use the PDK for .NET. If so - Please read the overview section in the documentation to get a general idea of how it works (for example - IIS is not used at all!).
See the Visual Studio integrated help or click this https://media.sdn.sap.com/html/submitted_docs/dotnet/index.htm
there go to "Getting Started" and mostly "Overview".
Anyway, It seems like the problem is that you didn't deploy the 2 required SDA's to the portal. You should also take a look at the "installation and configuration" guide. Download it here: https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/developerareas/dotnet.sdn?contenttype=url&content=/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/pdk for .net administrator guides.zip

  • Voting Thread for the SAP NetWeaver ABAP Developer Edition for Linux

    Hi Everyone,
as Mario Herger suggested in the discussion to his Blog [New Community Developer License is available|/people/mario.herger/blog/2010/01/20/new-community-developer-license-is-available] I start the topic requesting a SAP NetWeaver ABAP Developer Edition for Linux.
    Best regards
    Gregor

I think having a pre-packaged VMWare machine running on Windows or Linux would be great as it would help a lot of the non-Basis consultants get a system up and running. Perhaps even offer it as an AMI package on AWS so that hardware is not an issue.
I'd also like to see the traditional installation packages offered as many technical consultants use the build as a process to look at installation issue and post installation configuration.
I think both the pre-built and build it from scratch approaches have an audience here on SDN and I'd like to see both being offered.
In fact I'm just looking at the new license options one of which come with the DVD's which is ideal but at a price!
    Thanks,
    George M-A

  • Problem with java installation on Linux

    HI ,
I am trying to install jdk on Linux..I am new to java and Linux both. I am trying to download the file for the linux installation onto my home PC(windows XP) and then ftp it to my Linux machine. I need to do this because I have a remote login to my Linux machine( a server at school). However when I try to download file my IE jsut crashes. I can see the page for accepting the Agreement but when I click on Accept the next page just stops responding.
Could someone explain why this is happening.
    thanks,
    G.

The problem doesn't have to do anything with Java or Linux as far as i can see. It's more likely a problem with Windows XP and IE. Be assured that normally downloading the Linux JDK in windows is not a problem.

  • Installation on linux problem

    Hello,
I just installed j2sdk-1_4_0_02-fcs-linux-i586.rpm on my linux machine as the instruction says. After installation, I run "java -version" to see if it works. It complains, "command not found". The instruction does not say any thing about setting JAVA_HOME or any thing like that. Do I have to set it. If so, what file do i need to set in. Using root or regular user?
    Thanks

    Yes.
You need to set JAVA_HOME, CLASSPATH and PATH in a file called "/etc/profile.d/java.sh". This topic has been covered previously, in the last few weeks, so look at the threads in the archive for full details.

  • A few questions re: installing 10g on a virtual linux machine

I am in the process of building up a virtual linux box on my XP laptop and have a few questions regarding the networking setup. Purpose is to have a sandbox *nix setup at my fingertips.
Here's what I have so far:
Dell Latitude laptop running Win XP. This is a DHCP machine.
    Installed VMWare Player
Created virtual machine with OEL 4.8, with NAT network config
So far, so good. Next step is to install 10.2.0.4 EE on the virtual Linux machine. When installing 10.2.0.4 directly on the XP system, of course I had to install a loopback adapter to provide a fixed IP address for Oracle, all well documented in the installation guide. While it is my understanding that the loopback adapter, as installed and configured on Windows, is primarily a Windows issue, I would expect something of the same fundamental under Linux insomuch as it is still a dhcp machine. However, when checking the relevant installation guide, the section on networking considerations and DHCP simply gave a two-paragraph discussion of what DHCP was. I found no discussion on how to deal with it in a *nix environment.
This particular vmware setup gives me a choice of 3 network configs - Bridged , NAT, or host-only (private vitrual net shared only with the host) I am currently configured to use NAT because I need outside connectivity (to yum server, etc) but do not want an additional device (ip address) on the real network. I'm guessing I could use host-only most of the time and when I need to access the internet, shut down the db and switch back to NAT.
This is all new territory for me, so I guess I'm looking at some 'best practices' advice as much as anything.

    Ed,
I would encourage going for OEL 5u2 or 5u3 and including the oracle-validated package. It makes sure you have all the prerequisites for 10gR2 and makes life much easier.
I set up dozens of these machines for Oracle U classes. What I started with originally is 2 virtual NIC - a NAT and a Bridged. The Bridged allowed me to access the outside world at any time and was assigned using DHCP from the local network. The NAT I'd configure manually as a static IP, and I used it primarily to provide a second 'virtual network' so the classroom machines could communicate with each other.
In my latest iteration, I've dropped back to a single Bridged NIC based on DHCP. For Oracle install purposes, I
    - pick a hostname (myhost.oraclass.com)
    - switch to static IP (I've scripted it - edits /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and /etc/syscfg/network : hostname) but using the network GUI tool is ok as well
    - I choose the static to macth the DHCP address assigned
    - inject a single line into the /etc/hosts with the new static address, the hostname, and a hostname that I want to publish
    192.168.4.21 myhost.oraclass.com orahost student21.oraclass.com student21
    - set a global env variable (/etc/profile.d/oraprofile.sh (export HOSTNAME=myhost.oraclass.com)
and after installing Oracle, I switch back to DHCP. Then if I want to travel, I can easily switch the 'static' address as often as I want (also scripted) to match the IP addr the 'host DHCP' provides.
I've used the NAT. It hands out a DHCP address and usually it works for me (and Oracle) simply by making it static (as above) and letting VMWare container handle it. But every once in a while it seems to 'jam up' and I'd need to fight with it. So I've converted to bridged .. with the help of some scripts I've written.

  • Oracle 11g installation on Linux Enterprise 5 remains hanging at 43%!

    Hi all,
as per Subject, I have installed a Linux Enterprise 5 OS downloaded by Oracle Download Center and it is now installed following the nice Guide here.
I have added the missing Linux packages and set up the kernel parameters as per Guide quoted above.
If I launch the Oracle installation, it completes the packages and parameters check fine, install goes fine until 43% and then hangs.
It's not freezing as the Installation window shows ongoing animations, if I try to stop installation it responds immediately asking for confirmation.
    It just hangs up!
The Linux machine is actually on a VMWare image on a MacOS Leopard host.
I have tried it on my laptop and desktop as well, but the hang point keeps being the same.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Oracle 11g  installation for Linux

    Hello,
I am new to Oracle and Linux and assigned the task to install Oracle 11g on Linux enterprise edition. How do I install 11g on Linux ? I am also planning to install Oracle Application Express on the Linux machine. How do I accomplish these task? Is there any steps by steps intruction?
    Thank you,
    Harish

Yes there is. The Oracle documentation site can be found at:
    http://tahiti.oracle.com
Go to that link, and select your version (11g Release 1 or Release 2), and then select the "Installation" link.
From there you should find everything you need :)
