Dev & Prod.
Actualy Mapping with  ECC Dev to  BI Dev Sys , But, Unfortunately my management asking please collect the data from ECC QTY to BI Dev.
We have only data's avilable ECC Qty, there is no data in ECC Dev.
My Question is how to collect the data in different Client (or) Cross Client.
*how to connect cross client then how to extract the data from ECC Qty to BI Dev System.
Can you please provide me solution ASAP...
Thanks in Adance Guru's.
Regards,
Kumar

Hi,
You have to map your ECC QUA to BI Dev system.
Communication Setting between BW and R/3
Step 1: Define Logical System in R/3
Step 2: Assigning Logical System to Client
Step 3: Setting Up an RFC Destination
Step 4: Distributing Data Model
Message Types Involved in Process of Data Loading
Step 5: Generating Partner Profile
Step 6: Maintaining Message types in T-Code WE20
Cross check the system mappings in RSLOGSYSMAP table in both systems.
You can search some step by step docs in SDN.......

  • Cross Clients in SAP

    Hi All
I would like to know how many cross clients are available in SAP for all modules

    Hello Suresh,
Cross SystemIn some scenarios, the business process workflow is distributed in more than one system. It means the workflow is triggered in one system and executes some tasks and then triggers a second workflow in another system. Processing is done in the second workflow and again comes back to first workflow. This means there is a switch between workflows across systems. The major task is to pass data from one workflow to other.
Cross ClientLike Cross systems, we can have workflows talking across clients of same system. Example, Workflow is triggered when a Purchase Order is changed in system SYS 1 (Client 100). It determines the changes. Based on it, a work item is generated for approval of changes done. The agents (Suppliers) are in same SYS 1 but different client (Client 200). So, the Dialog task for Approval will be in client 200.

  • Merging SAP Clients - Reporting on Cross Client Table Compare Results

    Hey folks,
We are trying to merge two clients into one (on the cheap), i think that cross client table comparision is the best way to find differences and possible issues and clashes with the two systems configuration, but i was wondering if there is anyway to report on these differences, so we can pull them out to word/excel document to anaylse and document them prior to making the changes.
Does anyone know if this possible?
    Thanks a lot,
    Greg

    Hello Mr. Newman,
I think using SCU0 is going to be the way to go but the output is not always the best. However you should be able to show the differences and download to excel to analyse further. If this doens't fit then I think you will have to look at copying the tcode / report and improving the output to meet your needs.
Alternatively post to basis folks and see if they have some better ideas!
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Dan

  • Client export for ABAP programs, repository objects cross client objects

    Hello,
Let me first explain the scenario here. Our Development system crashed we are rebuilding the development system from a client export of the production. Client does not want migration etc so the only way we want to do it is through client export.
Now the question is whether cross client objects can really be imported through client export KT, KO, KX requests?
I thought it was possible but after successfully importinng the client export (which was taken using profile SAP_EXPC) of the Production client all the customizing has been imported but non of the ABAP programs have been imported.
Can anyone explain how this is done and if it is possible?
    Steps I performed:
1] Exported Production client with profile SAP_EXPC
2] Imported the 3 requests KT, KO, KX using command line
    tp import <KT req> <SID> U2 client=<my client> pf=<profile path>
    tp import <KX req> <SID> U2 client=<my client> pf=<profile path>
    tp import <KO req> <SID> U2 client=<my client> pf=<profile path>
3] After successful import ran scc7 which finished successfully
    Thank you

You can transport client independent customizing, read sap note [24853 - CC-INFO: Client copy, functionality|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/24853].
But you cannot transport abap repository objects (abap programs) with a client copy.
Can you explain what you mean by "Our Development system crashed". If you still can happily do client copies to that system, then i really wonder what you mean by crashed...
    Cheers Michael

  • Create source system without cross client config

The SAP-Help URL given below explains the prerequisites for linking BW to a source system. One of the requirements is that the source client is open for cross client configuration.
Is there a way to create the source system without having cross client rights in each source client?
I understand that the client only has to be open while it is being linked to the BW system but I would prefer to avoid opening the client at all.

    Hi ,
You can perform the following check :-
    1) Check if BI DBMS and Source DBMS are same. If not then you have to Install DB Client for that Source then this error should not come.
2)Check if DBSL(Data Base shared Library is installed in BI for this Source. If not Kindly Install that in BI server.
Kindly perform these operations and lets see what happens.

  • Cross-client activation issue with LBWE

    Hi,
I am running into the same problem as the following links:
    Problem with setup table fillup
    Cross-client problem
We have the configuration client 300 and the loading client 310. The structures in client 100 are active but are inactive in client 310. The first link says that I have to go into LBWE in the loading client to activate the structures, but I have the same issue relating to the second link. This is happening in the DEV system.
Is the fix for the second issue relating to Basis who would allow me to do the activation on the loading client - opening the system for me to activate? Or is it the Developer's issue to find the workaround?
I don't see why the restriction on the configuration for DEV client systems. This is for BW related Configuration issues and nothing is relating to SAP Business Configuration that had to be so restricted.
Please advise how to get the inactive structures to be active in the loading client.
    Thanks

    Hi,
It is a very common issue.  You can solve it by logging in to 310 client, going to SCC1 transaction and replicating changes from the transport orders that you created in the other DEV client.
It's like transporting from one DEV client to the other, but please note that the request does not need to be released.
    I hope this helps.

  • Cross Client Customzing - Define Printer

    Hello all,
As far as I know, defining a new printer in SAP system is belonging to the cross-client customizing.
But one thing I am confusing about:
I choose 'No changes to Repository and cross-client costuming objs', however I still can create and delete printers.
Can somebody know what happened? If my understanding is wrong, please kindly let me know.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Tong Ning

    Hi sir,
Related the configurations (SPAD--Printer) there is no cross client options or client specific options. You can use different printers at different or same locations based on your available resources and can use any printer either it is local/Remote. There is no such options for printer configurations. The options in SCC4 bare only for the foreign and program changes.
See the below links for detailed information and issues regarding the printer configurations.

    Cross Client :
Under SAP Technical Systems, Cross client customizing will provide <b>data to all the clients</b>..hence it is  applicable for all the <b>repository objects</b> under difeerent modules such as FI - Finance, CO - Accounting, MM - Material Management, SD - Sales and Distribution....
different clients such as 100 - Developing, 200 Testing, 300 - Quality, 400 - Production and  999 - Sand box......., the data can be trasnferred easily

  • RSA6 is cross client?

    Hello,
just a question, for the first time we use the same source system (with different client) as a sandbox and development box.
When activating a datasource in RSA6 in client 120 and then go to RSA6  client 190, it is written that
Only editing of DataSources (hierarchy locked by user).
I understand that RSA6 is cross client and so, modifications to datasources also, so it makes no sens to have a sandbox and development on the same instance, because all tests from sandbox (client 190) will affect extract structure in the development client.
Can you confirm, or do you think this is a strange behavior or some customizing is missing?
    ECC 6.0 Ehp4 connected to BI 7.0 Ehp1
    Thanks a lot
    Thibaud.

You are correct that DataSources are cross-client and therefore when you activate a DataSource in your Client 120, the DataSource is immediately available in Client 190 and every other client on that same instance. Therefore, any changes made to the DataSource, including enhancement of the extraction structure and CMOD code, will affect all clients in that instance.
I can see your point that it does not make much sense that a sandbox client and development client exist on the same instance. In fact, I could say that it does not make sense for many more reasons than just BW-related areas. For example, if a user exit for a transaction process is developed in the sandbox client, it would be in the development client as well. Then, if true development is being done and unit testing is performed with the user exit developed in the sandbox, the results of that testing would be flawed because that user exit would not be transported to the next target instance (e.g. QA) along with the actual development objects, causing potential issues whilst testing in QA.
In the many years that I've been working on SAP (R3/ECC, BW/BI, GTS, etc), the organizations that I have worked for have always had the sandbox as a separate, significantly smaller, instance from the development instance. Sanbox environments are supposed to be just that, a playground where there are no rules. Once you introduce that type of open availability to the development environment of a productive system, you are introducing a boat load of potential issues.

  • Split database to client specific and cross client

    Hi
Do we have a known method to split an existing MaxDB database into two .
    1. Client Specific database
    2. Cross client database
    Thanks and Regards
    Sri

What you can do is to use TDMS (Test Data Migration Server), it´s a separate product and it enable you to setup test/training systems with a reduced amount of production data.
This system makes use of technologies to determine, whether a table is client depend and client independent.
Your problem is, that the client specific data NEEDS the cross client data, it relies on the customizing, that is cross client.
If your pupose is to e. g. extract some kind of data because parts of your company was sold or if you bought a new company, then you should contact the SLO group (http://service.sap.com/slo) that does those kinds of "separations" too.
From a technical level, it´s certainly possible but wihtout knowing your initial intent why you want to do that, one can give just advises, what we "think" what the reason might be.

  • What is meant by cross client

    hai
waht is meant by cross client while defining new table?
    hav a nice time

    Hi,
The changes that you make in the ABAP Workbench are placed in the Repository tables of the SAP database. The contents of these tables are known as Repository data or Repository objects. Apart from a few exceptions, the Repository data is cross-client. As with cross-client Customizing, changes to Repository objects affect all clients of an SAP System
Tables which are having MANDT field is called as client dependent tables. Tables which are not having MANDT field is called as client dependent tables.
    Client independent
a table/object that is valid for all clients in a system. E.g table SCC4. This table will be the same no matter which client you view it from. If you try to make changes in SCC4, you'll get a popup with a warning that the table is cross client.
    Client dependent
a table/object that is only valid for the client it is changed in. E.g the user tables USR*. You have to create users in each client.
Hope it helps. Please reward if useful.
    Thanks & Regards
