SAP BIW v/s CRM!!! Which training to go for?

Hi,
I am new to SAP world and don't have a functional background in any SAP modules. I am thinking to swicthing my career to SAP functional. I have came across many SAP training instutes in Northeast (NJ, NY, PA) area and many offer Job assitance after imparting training.
Could someone kindly tell me what is hot in SAP currently that requires least SAP background and has more Job oppurtunities for a SAP newbie like me?
Also any good training institutes in NJ, PA area? ( I know SAP america is the best, but its expensive if its self-sponsored).

I have 10 years + programming background. Last 5 years its been on Oracle on a in house built Materials Management system. Also have undergone some SAP Abaping training.
My interest is to become a SAP functional consultant, preferably in CRM or BW (or whatever is hot, with least startup functional background required).
I am looking for some good training institutes in northeast region, Any Suggestions???
I have heard there are many in NJ, DC and Philly that also offer some job assistance. Please let me know if you know of any good institutes?

If i were you for the best CRM training,even though its costly i would prefer Seimens,otherwise SAP Academy in Bangalore,they are pretty costly but still worth.

For SAP R/3 we use CATT and ECATT tools.
Both are very useful tools and generally used for automated functional testing.Reduces a large amount of cost and human effort.
Even you can convert or call external tool scripts like mercury QTP etc from ECATT and run from ECATT itself.Also you can use these tools with solution manager to get awesome effortless testing and test plan management.

Client Proxy. When you need to create Proxy for your Sender system then the proxy is generated on the client side and the Class created in Proxy generation is called in a report/FM etc.
Server proxy. The server proxy is created when you are sending the data from SAP XI to the receiving system.
The generation of proxy in both the cases happens on the sender or the receiver system.

SAP BIW - Load Schedule Map

Hi all,
I tried the new how-to paper (SAP BIW - Load Schedule Map) to greate a report to view the scheduled loadings via PCs, but some formula variables are used there, which are not defined within the howto paper.
Did somebody of you generate the report already successfully ???
And maybe you have some hints for me to define the variables (techn. name: Y....Avg_Dur_Sec).
Seams to me that there is a calculation in secondes behind it.

Hello Alexander,
Page 14 explains how to create each formula for 0-23. One thing that was not illustrated was that on Page 14 where you see the number 15 a lot, well, just be sure you make each occurence of that a number 0 when you are on 0, 1 when you are on 1, 2 when you are on 2 etc.
Also take note of what is a local formula and what is a global formula as noted in the directions.
It took me a little while, but I got it working!
Also if you chain names don't appear when you run the query, just change the display properties for the Key/Text (Long text)
I also believe you need to use Analyzer Version 7 for the definition. I couldn't find the 'TIME' function using analyzer version 3 (Although i didn't look very hard either)

Updating Equipment from SAP R/3 to CRM

Hi ,
In my Current Scenario, Equipments Created in the SAP R/3 will replicated to SAP CRM system as a Objective for I Base . at the same it will create IBASE Hierarchy . an installed base component is created for the individual object. Both objects are linked to one another so that the installed base components point to the individual object .
Both Component Description & Objective Description Should be same.
Now Issue was, we have changed Equipment Description in R/3 System and it will replicated in to SAP CRM system perfectly . But component Description still showing old one even Objective shows updated Description
1) Is this SAP stranded functionality defined like this ? if not could please some one suggest solution for this ...

Trying to log on sap biw 3.0 from sap r/3

Dear sap professionals,
this is suresh, i am trying to logon to sap BIW 3.0 from sap r/3, to do this i used the proper Tcode. but the issue is i am getting the error message "name or password incorrect please reenter". any body knows how to make the remote connection to BIW 3.0. thanks in advance

in my case,
i got the same error..
By mistake, i touched [Caps Lock] button. ( haha )
i typed the password again.
it worked. i mean i could log on the BW system.
so i think,
we need to type <b>the password as "Capital Letters".</b>

Difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow

Hello guys,
Is there any difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow?
Are there others workflows types in SAP?
In all SAP Workflow Courses (BIT600, BIT601, BIT603, BIT610) only was talked about SAP Business Workflow, and nothing about CRM Workflow.

There is not much of the differance between CRM workflows and SAP Business workflows..
Workflows are esentially part of Basis (BC) components and hence its the same across all SAP products as all these products have components of Basis(BC) in them...
To Conclude, SAP Busines workflows and CRM workflows are the same things... However when you work on CRM, the BOR objects would be belonging to CRM and not to ECC... However conceptwise , there in no change at all.. If you learn BIT100......, you can also work on CRM workflows..

SAP CRM Client Problems or dependencies for Z Nodes

Hi Experts,
I am getting output successfully in my development client. But when I transfer the request from development client to testing client I am getting error mentioned above.
However after copy the request from development client to testing client, I am able find the changes in testing clientu2019s SAP GUI (component workbench-configuration).
I created enhancement for Z field creation. But here Standard or default configuration or Custom configurations are not showing Z fields when I click on u2018show Available Fieldsu2019 link. But those Z attributes are appearing in View Structureu2019s node. However these attributes are not generating methods. (I posted this question with subject u2018CRM 7.0 (BSP_WD_CMPWB) problems u2019)
To overcome the issue I created Z node with BOL entry.
Now I am able see my Zfields in Z node at configuration.
I added and I did some coding for event handler.
I am getting an error on browser(after copying the request from deve to testing client) given below

Just to chime in the most common issue when going beyond dev to test with CRM webclient UI is making sure your enhancement set is assigned to the client in test.
Now please keep in mind you have to maintain BSPWDV_EHSET_ASG specifically in each system instance because you can't transport entries(client is not the key of the table !!!).
This thread here explains that I even found this frustated and a pain when I first started with CRM webclient UI. It proves that even moderators are mere mortals lol.
