As far asi know, version B runs on Linux.

I tried Crossover 4.2 on redhat enterprise 3, without success.
Anybody have tried this or other way to run SBO on Linux(I know it would be without support from SAP)

Looking for evalution download of EP6 SP2 for linux

Is it possible to find a evaluation version of the SAP Portal EP6 SP2 for linux. To evalutate and check the installation procedure.

Under downloads -> Webas there is a 640 release of the webas for linux. Installing this is basically the same as installing the portal.

JCO SBO 2004 for linux

Hi, I am developing a solucion using jco for sap sbo 2004 pl 30. And it works fine on my computer windows xp, but when i copied my application and the jco's jar files to my production server (linux) and It returns the following error:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no sbojni in java.library.path at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary
at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:788)
at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:834)
at com.sap.smb.sbo.wrapper.util.WrapperUtil.loadSBOJNILibrary
at com.sap.smb.sbo.wrapper.com.Dispatch.<clinit>
at com.sap.smb.sbo.api.SBOCOMUtil.newCompany
I guess that this error is becouse there is no "sbojni.dll" file for linux, there must be a different version of jco for linux...
Do you have any Idea about running jco application on linux?

Hi Sergio,
It is not possible to run the jco on linux, only on windows, because it has as com-interface to SBO.
If you want your application to run ion linux you should connect to sbo using the DI-server.

I have just installed the SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP Edition on my PC and I want to setup some new clients to simulate an ALE model.
Does anyone know the initial password for SAP* ?
I have already tried PASS and pass because I know it is case -sensitive now but it did not work.

I am not sure if this helps, but SAP_J2E_LocalAdmin exists in my system as a group not user.

RTC for BI 7.0 SAP_BW SP 13 is scheduled in CW 21, that is coming week, after that you should be able to download it from service market place.
@others: Dont get confused about SPS release with SP release. BI has intermediate release which is SP release, SPS is SP-Stack release (which is NetWeaver release).
SP 12 correspond to SPS 12 which is sceduled CW 21.

Install License Key for SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP trial Edition.

Hello.
I have two installations of the SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP trial Edition (on desktop and laptop). After the expiration of the original 30 days license; now I need to install the extended License (90 days). I am using SLICESE transaction from SAP* user account to install the new license. I have got the "License Key" from SAP website. However, the installation of the new License Key fails to complete successfully (it fails to add the new license key) and ends with an error prompt. This problem is happening on both systems! Has anyone experienced such problem? What did you do to fix it?
Note: no errors in typing in the new Key, as I used the copy and paste!

Thanks again for your help. I found out that if you try to install the new license key (first time) with any error (such as wrong expiration date), it will fail as "invalid key", naturally. However, the subsequent attempts also continues to fail despite the fact that the correction are made. the only way I could fix this was to stop and restart the SAP Application server and make sure that the first attempt has typos. It seems to me that once an error flag is set, it is not removed unless the server is restarted. well, the problem is fixed now and thank you for your help.

I'm currently working on a project where I need to develop with EP 6.0. For testing my development I wanted to download the SAP NetWeaver 2004 Java Trial Version from

Hi Parsman,
You only need SAPGui to logon to ABAP instance...
If you installed a Java Instance.. you need to logon using your browser... URL is in the manual.
For the J2EE engine page,
http://<hostname_with_fqdn>:500<instance_number>
If there a portal installed,
http://<hostname_with_fqdn>:500<instance_number>/irj/portal
All this info is contained in the installation guide.

I think having a pre-packaged VMWare machine running on Windows or Linux would be great as it would help a lot of the non-Basis consultants get a system up and running. Perhaps even offer it as an AMI package on AWS so that hardware is not an issue.
I'd also like to see the traditional installation packages offered as many technical consultants use the build as a process to look at installation issue and post installation configuration.
I think both the pre-built and build it from scratch approaches have an audience here on SDN and I'd like to see both being offered.
In fact I'm just looking at the new license options one of which come with the DVD's which is ideal but at a price!

SAP Netweaver 7.x Download for Linux does not work

I would like to Setup a test lab for our Company.
I tried downloading the files from the following link:

Technology Preview SAP NetWeaver 04 for linux broken?

Hi,
I downloaded the "Technology Preview SAP NetWeaver 04 - SAP Web Application Server on Linux" from this site and followed the installation instructions.
There were no problems during the server installation. Everything I tried so far worked.
The installation of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio did not work however. During the 1st installation I got the message:
c:\program files\common files\sap shared\sapchart.ocx
c:\program files\adobe\designer 6.0\filesystembrowser.dll
could not be installed. To view the log, open
file://Y:\J2EELX1\IDE\setup\saplogvw.exe.
Unfortunately I cannot find the the program saplogvw.exe.
If I start the developer studio, I encounter two problems:
I can change the perspective once, for instance to development configurations. From there I cannot change the perspective any more. In the console I get the error message:
An error has occurred restoring the coolbar layout. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Argument not valid

I did the 1st installation on a linux box with SuSE linux 9.0. The server is on the same box.
Then I tried a 2nd installation of the developer studio on a laptop with windows 2000. The laptop is connected to the linux box though a local network. The installation went through without errors. I also can change the perspectives repeatedly without getting any exception. However, I cannot connect to the server. I set the message server parameters of the SAP J2EE engine to
host: nw4host
port: 3601.
With tcpdump I can see, that the developer studio does not send any IP packets through the network, i.e. it does not try to connect to the server. And I cannot login, e.g. in the development configurations, because the "login" is disabled.
With a browser, I can connect to the server, however.
What did I miss?

hi Andreas,
The problem is with your UNPACKING of YOUR NWDS SAR File. i had similar problems when i unpacked the NWDS SP13 file. i guess the sapcar file was corrupted or the downloaded file was corrupted.
but i down loaded NWDS SP14 and used SAPCAR -XVF JIDE14_0-10002804.SAR to unpack and install.
Now i'm able to use the Studio fine.
Regarding the second problem, you should point your J2EE server to the place where it is installed. And you should have the SDM password to deploy the applications in your server.

Is SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 2004s supported on Linux? If so, where is it in the PAM (Product Availability Matrix) and Linux specific installation guide(s)? Everything I can find does not talk about running and or installing SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 2004s on Linux.
