SAP BO Dashboards 4.1 additional components

Hi, sorry I am new to the dashboard designer. Can anyone point me towards the right direction for some additional components for dashbaord designer please? I am idially after some components that works on mobile platforms (ipad and andriod SAP mobile app). I am mostly after the free once right now (to demonstrate the business what can be achived). Also can someone explain the installation process of those components - Whether i only need to have it installed on the machine I am using the designer or does that component needs to be installed on server as well so the customers can lunch the dashboard via launch pad. Substitute for filters in SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards

Dear all,
I am working on a dashboard application built on SAP Business Objects Dashboards 4.1.
When I deployed the application to an iPad, I realized that the filters present in the application are not supported by iPad.
Thus, is there any mobile-compatible component in SAP BO Dashboards which I can use in place of filrters for filtering the result during runtime?
Any help is highly appreciated.

In combo box, all I can do is select some values from one or more rows or cells in the excel and paste it to some other destination within excel. But my whole dashboard is query-based i.e. I have created query and my charts are getting the data directly from database during runtime. Thus, the query prompt selectors I have used are directly manipulating the data coming from the database.
Since query prompt selector are not supported in mobile mode, I need a substitute for it.
Combo box is not able to help till now because the values of combo box can not manipulate the data coming from database. Moreover, I am not sure if I have used the combo box properly.
If there is any way by which it can be done with using mobile-compatible components, then please suggest me about it.

Hi Michael,
I have the impression that there is some misunderstanding wrt b2b monitoring in PI/PO. Let me shed some light into this.
The b2b monitoring as part of the b2b add-on and PI is actually an enhancement of the standard message monitor in PI. We have implemented a b2b view which shows you the b2b specific attributes such as sender id, ack status, interchange number, etc., instead of the PI specific information such as message GUID, sender party and component, etc. In addition, you can search the messages based on the b2b specific attributes. This works in tight integration with the Trading Partner Management (TPM) that we ship together with the b2b add-on where those partner specific attributes are maintained. You can access the b2b view either directly via the url mentioned above,.i.e., with alias /b2bmon or you can go to PI message monitoring via alias /pimon, this opens the a2a view, from here you can switch to the b2b view.
The b2b view is only available as of 7.4 SP9 and b2b add-on SP4 as mentioned in the note 1815991 - Enhanced Local Message Monitor for B2B Messages. Since you are on a lower SP, this is the reason that you cannot see it.
Whereas the local monitoring in PI gives you a status overview of your messages processed on the very PI runtime component, the Message Flow Monitor in SAP Solution Manager can be used for tracking your message from end-to-end, i.e., it provides you the status on each runtime component that the message goes through. Here, we also do support b2b scenarios. Like in the local b2b view, we show the ack status for technical and functional acks as well. Furthermore, we have built in a b2b specific search based on the TPM attributes.
I planned to write a blog on the new b2b view but haven't found the time so far, so stay tuned.

help, i did a clean reinstall using a USB, now its saying "the additional components needed to install mac os x cant be found" what do i do? i wiped my whole computer!...

Not on my late 2011 15" MBP. When I use just Cammond+r it takes me to the built in recovery HD.
Even with no HDD in the system Command+r gives me nothing, no options at all and certainly not the Internet Recovery system.
Command+Option+r gives me the Internet Recovery system with or without a HDD in the system and with or without a Recovery HD partition on the internal drive.
So it would seem it is different for different models and whether or not there is or isn't a recovery partition on the internal drive.
So for anyone reading this thread try both Command+r and Command+Option+r to boot the computer from the Apple Online Lion Internet Recovery system.

Can Xcelsius 2008 Engage coexist on the same machine as SAP Crystal Dashboard Design?

I still have the requirement to maintain dashboards created with Xcelsius 2008 SP5. Will the install of SAP Crystal Dashboard Design: Departmental overwrite or disable the ability to run Xcelsius 2008 on the same machine?

Thank you for the reply. I am not sure I phrased the question very well, as I said in the post I am aware Personal Edition does not require viewing licenses. What I was asking was whether the 'internal business use only' clause in the EULA prevented dashboards built with Personal Edition from being placed on external company sites?
If anyone could provide an answer to this it would be greatly appreciated.

Error in the installation of additional components

I am performing a clean install of OS X vs. 10.8.5 on a new internal hard drive. At the end of the installation process the progress bar stalls with a minute to go - error message "Can't download the additional components needed to install OS X" appears

At the end of the installation process (Clean install, new 500GB internal hard drive, formatted and partitioned, MacBook 13" Aluminum, late 2008) the progress bar stalls and eventually a drop down error message appears "Can't download the additional components needed to install OS X". I am using a USB 8 GB bootable flash drive. Any ideas?

Can't download the additional components needed to install Mac OS X

Hi there, I'm new and a complete novice, please try to have patience I'm hoping to learn but need the right guidance and assistance if possible please :)
Firstly I have read the other articles sharing the same or similar title but most are mentioning using time machine.
I have just fitted a new 1tb SSD to my 13" MacBook Pro after my previous hd was in an unrepairable state. I also purchased a Mac OS X Lion thumb drive with intention of having the latest software on my mac. I obviously don't have any information I want to recover I just merely want to install OS X Lion and begin as if my Macbook was new. But I keep getting the above message. I have gone to disc utilities went through the whole erase process which creates the new partition. Every time I do verify disc is says disc needs repairing so successfully repair it and go back to attempting to install Lion but again it gives me the 'can't download the additional components...' Message. I tried starting up in recovery mode, but from what I have seen on tutorials I should be given the choice of 2 or 3 drives in which to start up on, I only get the option of the OS X Lion thumb drive. Please help me, I really would like to do this myself as a sense of achievement.
My warranty has obviously run out on my mac so this is the reason I changed the HD myself.

Hi a Brody, thank you for taking the time to lend some advice. I am able to connect to the internet via wifi, although my internet is not the fastest, would it be better to connect the MacBook up to the router?
I'm not sure if I have tried reformatting my SSD, would it be possible to have some instructions for that please?
With regards to the original install disc it was lost a long time ago, so was told this thumb drive USB stick with OS X Lion mounted (official apple OS X Lion thumb stick) to it would act as an install disc, would I require the initial install disc as it is a fairly old MacBook?

Error Installing SAP Digital Dashboard - Trial Version

I downloaded the trail version of SAP Digital Dashboard earlier today and am trying to install. I'm getting a message that XP and Office must be pre-installed, but I have XP and Office 2010 (32-bit). I'm not sure why it won't install.
I extracted all files from the downloaded zip file
I double click on setup.exe
I click on Run
I'm able to choose my setup language - English
Click OK - then I get a popup window - Installer Information
Message is: Microsoft Office XP and later applications: Excel, Word, Outlook or PowerPoint must be pre-installed.
When I click OK - I get Fatel Error popup - with message: Installation ended prematurely because of an error.
Any help to install would be greatly appreciated.

SAP Support was able to help. The trial version that I downloaded was out of date. I received the new trial version and it installed correctly.

After an hour or two of the installation process, with reamining time registering only 7 minutes, a box appears on screen with the message:
"Can't download additional components needed to installl OS X". I can't get beyond that poiint. I had not trouble installing Lion yesterday, but three attempts to install Mountain Lion hand up at this same point. What can I do about it? (I'm installing to a Mac Mini that I bought in 2012. I have 110 GB free out of 249.67GB. I have VMWare Fusion installed and that allocates 69.55 to Windows.)

I download a departmental edition trial version and I tried install it.
When finish a message said the installing was fine but then apears another message "Missing installdir reg key for installinverse, required for uninstall.
Key: SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Installer\aurora
Value: Path"
Then another message saying a Runtime Error.
I have a windows 7 ultimate 64 based with a 2010 SP1 Office 32 edition.

Trying to restore lion - message 'unable to install additional components' what can I do?

I upgraded my MacBook pro internally from 10.6.8. A big mistake. Didn't make a timemachine backup - another big one. Tried to return to 10.6.8. Long and short - stuck with lion reinstall facility which continues to tell me it can't download additional components (whatever they are) What can I do ????

If you're getting the can't get Lion's additional components, then Apple's servers are borked or you have a flakey Internet connection and you'll have to keep trying. To revert back to SL, see Kappy's going back to SL from Lion guide

Mountain Lion - Cannot download additional components???

My MacPRO (2008) was running like clock work, but recently a gremlin has appeared. I have been on this forum before and so far all information has been really useful. The mac would start up and shutdown in one motion. I didn't even have enough time to bypass or boot from an alternate drive so it was off to the mac centre to find the cause. Weirdly enough they found nothing wrong and it was good to go. I decided this might be an opportunity to rebuild from scratch and so my 4 drives I zeroed the data and tried to reload Mac OSX 10.8. It starts all well and good before stopping after a few minutes and flagging a problem "cannot download additional components". What is causing this and how do i get around the problem. I would take it back to service centre but have lost confidence in there competency since everytime I take it there it comes out worse than it went in.

Did you get to the point where you have downloaded the entire package from AppStore?
Save the ESD package and prepare an install disk and do a clean install.
Usually - there was one person recently here but cannot find buried in a thread, they had 10.8.2 and the installer is 10.8.3.
What are you running now?
As for the original problem, for which no problem was found... are you using an SSD to boot the system?
How to do clean install of Mountain is same as was for Lion, with how to clone a system.
Make sure you have 8GB flash drive, or even a small (16-32GB) partition (yes, you can setup an installer to run from hard disk drives to do a clean install to another drive or partition).

Downloading additional components for fresh reinstall of lion but does not restart when done

i've attempted to reinstall a fresh copy of lion because ever since i had lion, my dmg files wont open, software would not update and many other problems. So i tried reinstall and i waited hours for them to download additional components. the bar is completely blue (completed) but it would not restart. do i restart it manually?

Manually shut it down.
I would then first reset the SMC:
Shut down and unplug the Mac.
Keep the Mac unplugged for at least fifteen seconds.
Plug the Mac back in and do not turn it back on for at least five seconds.
Press the power button to turn the Mac back on.
Then I would reset the PRAM by rebooting the iMac while simultaneously holding the Command-Option-P-R keys until the machine restarts a second time.
Let us know if these procedures don't solve the problems.

JRE kernel installation crashes when installing additional components

Lately I've been having the problem that when using deployJava.js with installation type 'kernel' to install the latest JRE, the java plugin crashes when returning to the referrer page. What happens there is that 'additional components' are being tried to get installed but the progress bar will stop in the middle, incrementing the remaining seconds infinitely. I then have to kill the browser and several java processes. If I then return to the page again in most of the cases the applet will start up just fine...
In my memory it could well be that problems started when the kernel installer was updated to version 6u14, but I'm not sure about this one.
I can reproduce the problem reliably on javafx.com/samples (choosing the first) with Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista x86/x64, and Windows 7 x86 with all of IE6, IE7, IE8, FF3.5, Chrome 2 and Safari 4, both without any previously installed JRE and with older JRE (1.2 and 1.3).
Thus I wonder whether anyone has observed this problem too, or is there a weird issue which I happen to have with all my systems I tested with?
Any hints will be appreciated.

Am I the only one having this problem? As I said I can reproduce it on every Windows OS with any browser and older Java installed or not. As a test case I used [http://www.javafx.com/samples/ProjectManager/index.html] and one should think that it would be in Suns interest that this site works. Maybe I should just file a bug, to see whether others can reproduce the problem as well?!
