SAP BPC 7.5 and Citrix

Hi,
Running SAP BPC 7.5 client from Citrix XenApp 5.0 W2K8 32bit server.
The problem is the when running "SAP BusinessObjects Application set" and trying to "refresh workbook" the "Grid Layout" is empty.
I´v tryed to folow the guide in "SAP Note 1277548 - Cache folder is overwritten on Citrix"
But i´m not able to change the eTools > Client options > et local folder for P&C to "empty" but it is not posible to leave empty.
When running the app. from the server with localadmin it is working fine.
Best regards
Søren

You can greatly improve your chance of receiving a helpful answer to your question if you state the version (MS or NW) of BPC which you are using.
Also notice the sticky [note|Please do not post BPC, SSM or FI/CO questions here!; at the top of this forum whereby we announced new dedicated forums for BPC which are the proper place to post your questions regarding BPC in the future to be able to reach the right audience for your question.

  • Differeance between SAP BPC 5.1 and SAP BPC 7.0 NW  Version

    Dear experts,
Please contribute your expertise and valuable answers to this question.
what is the script language we need to use in SAP BPC 7.0 NW version? SQL or ABAP..?
What are the new features and positions are added in SAP BPC 7.0 NW comparing to BPC 5.1 and BPC 7.0 MS version.
    Thanks a lot in Advance.
    Satish

    Hi Kumar
I have tried to answer three of your questions. Hope this will help
Ques. Do we have BPF (Business Process Flow) in BPC 7.0 NW version?
    Reply: No
You can refer to the thread: BPC 7.0 - how to design business process flow type Planning process?
Ques. If no, How can we do Approval process in 7.0 NW version ?
Reply: Approval process works with changes in the work status settings while data planning moves over the controlling Approval hierarchy. So in the schedule you can have a display of the current work status using EVLCK()
Ques: Can we do Approval Process with Custom menus ?
Reply: You can refer to the thread: BPC 7.0 - how to design business process flow type Planning process?
"There is also a lot of explanation on using EVMNU on the SAP Service Marketplace in the Documentation Addendum to BPC 7.0 SP02 NW Central Note 1306898."
    Have a nice day.
    Cheers!

  • SAP BPC Updating Dimension and Elements whilst users are logged in?

    Hi,
In SAP BPC (the Outlooksoft technology), can dimensions hierachies be updated and elements be added without users having to log out?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kaveenga

    Hi Kaveenga,
Yes, dimension hierachies can be updated and elements can be added without users having to log out, but any changes will not be reflected in the users' reports until they log out and back into BPC.  Also, until the users have logged out and back in to BPC, there is potential for users to retrieve incorrect data depending on the changes that were made to the dimensions or if other users have subsequently changed data using the updated dimensions.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • SAP BPC 5.1 and SQL Server 2008

    Hi,
Can anyone please tell me if BPC 5.1 supports SQL server 2008? If so, can I have database and web server both on a single server (single server architecture)?
    Thanks for your reply!
    Maanas.

BPC ONLY SUPPORTS Microsoft SQL Server 2008 using version 7.0 SP3 and future SP packs. Version 5.X is not certified or supported on anything but SQL 2000 and SQL2005.  Please move to version 7M SP3 for the power of SQL Server 2008.

  • Data (Master Data Changes and Transaction Data) from SAP BW to SAP BPC 5.1

    Hi guys
I have seen posts on this forum describing data transfers from SAP R/3 to SAP BPC. I assume the procedure for data transfers from SAP BW to SAP BPC 5.1 should be the same i.e. using SSIS packages.
However I have some unique requirements -
    1. DATA AT DIFFERENT AGGREGATED LEVELS - I need data from SAP BW at different levels - Some data comes at Product level while other at Customer level and some at Project Level. The current procedure takes BW queries output in excel sheets (6 files) and then use the data manager package to load the data in SAP BPC 5.1 using appropriate transformation and conversion files. This procedure is highly manual and I am looking at using SSIS package to do this. However, because of having data at different levels, it becomes a little tricky. How can we achieve this using SSIS?
    2. UPDATING MASTER DATA - I need to update the master data (dimension members) in SAP BPC 5.1 at the start of every month. The current procedure compares (in MS ACCESS) the data from the queries mentioned in 1 to the dimension members in SAP BPC 5.1 and spits a file with the new entries which needs to be manually updated in the appropriate dimensions using Admin Console. I am looking at automating this task. I cannot just replace all the contents of a dimension with the members coming from SAP BW since the dimension members contains some dummy members which are used for planning.
    3. HIERARCHY CHANGES - What is the best way to capture the hierarchy changes in SAP BW into SAP BPC 5.1?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Ameya Kulkarni

    Hi Ameya,
how did you solve the described problems? Can you give some hints about uploading master data and updating the hierarchy?

  • SAP BPC 7.5 to BPC 10.0 upgrade, problem CPMBPC_800

    Hello,
We are currently upgrading BPC 7.5 to BPC 10.0. We want to do an upgrade of our existing BPC 7.5, and not an 'clean' installation of BPC 10.0.
Right now we are having some issues with the´basis part of the upgrade.
We have installed the POASBC 100_730 SP01 (POASBC ABAP component) with no problems
and now we want to install the EPM content in the download package 51040691 (Server components).
In the download package 51040691 - there are two folders 'upgrade' and 'installation'
The files have been uploaded into SAP BW 7.3 and the problem now is in 'saint' - we can see the CPMBPC_800 package, but the type is 'INSTALLATION' and there is not an option to choose 'UPGRADE'
Is 'INSTALLATION' the same as a clean installation - or will the package detect the existing SAP BPC 7.5 and do upgrade instead of an installation ?
    All help is appreciated
    Thank you,

    Hello,
we are facing the same issue. Did somebody solve this problem? Is INSTALLTION the same as UPGRADE?
    Kind Regards

  • NEW TO SAP BPC - Advice on Data Management Packages

    Hi,
I am an experienced Microsoft BI User, but am new to SAP BPC.
I am working on a project that has required me to create custom SSIS packages for my client. To date my packages transform / cleanse and format the source into a clean CSV file, that requires no further intervention from the user, other than to use the standard SAP BPC Import Routine, with a simple Transformation file.
In order to fully automate the process, I would like my Custom package to automatically invoke the Standard import package without any user based intervention.
    Can anyone advise on this?
I have considered writing further logic in my custom package that would completely bypass SAP BPC Data Manager, and insert the information direclty into the Fact Tables, taking into consideration any members that don't exist in the Dimensions. However, I would prefer not to go down this route unless absolutely necessary.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, so that I can call a clear routine from within my custom package, that would invoke a SAP BPC package /task to clear certain data from the fact table, and then call another Package / task that would update the Fact table based on a fully prepared csv file.
    Many thanks

You could modify your custom package to perform all the steps thru BPC import and have the user initiate the Package from the BPC Data Manager.  You would just need to add a MODIFYSCRIPT variable (see the standard IMPORT package as an example) and add the BPC tasks required to Convert/Load that data your package already prepares.
I have had prior success having a custom package initiated from within the BPC Data Manager extract data from an external data source (ie: Oracle), use user provided runtime input to customize data extraction parameters, manipulate the extracted data, and import it into BPC.
Unfortunately I've never attempted to initiate a BPC task without the package being initiated from within BPC.  But I would surmise that if you provide the proper values for the individual BPC Tasks (ie: Convert and Load) required properties (ie: AppSet, App, User,...), I cannot think why it would not work.

  • Xcelsius with SAP BPC 7.0 MS

    Hi all
I have installed SAP BPC 7.0 MS version. In addition to this, I have downloaded trial version of Xcelsius 2008 from SAP Partner Site to test its functionalities. I want to connect SAP BPC with Xcelsius and I am following the How-To guide to do the same. However, the option to create connections under Data menu in Xcelsius is disabled. Is it because I have a trial version or am I doing something wrong here?
Can someone from SAP please confirm?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Ameya Kulkarni

    Hi,
I too had similar problem initially and I found that I have installed the wrong version of Xcelsius. This might be the case. So please look into this.

  • Difference between SAP BPC & SEM BCS

    Hi Gurus,
What is the difference between SAP BPC & SEM BCS And throw some light on both?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sandy.

    Hi Sandy,
The functionality in BPC mainly 1) Planning   2) Consolidation
    1) Planning : You can have any type planning scenario.  Ex.: Sales planning.  Based on the actual previous data
we will have some projection reports on the sales for future sales, so we can have planning scenario here . We can change
the projections as per our requirement for any number of times.
Ex 2: HR Planning.  Based on the market condition we have recruitment planning, based on the actual data (Existing Emp.)
Ex 3: Accounts Expenditure planning like this we can have planning forecastings.
    2) Consolidations : We can consolidate the group company, companies with currency translations, allocations, Inter Unit
eliminations, consolidated P&L accounts & Consolidated Balance Sheets are possible in this.
But where as in BCS you can do only 2 part.  The first part is not possible.  Hence I personally suggest you to learn BPC NW
it will be more useful.  BPC is now going to integrated with BO (Buss. Objects) also from 7.5 ver onwards.
I hope this may help you.
    Regards,
    B.S.RAGHU

  • SAP BPC Certification

    Hi Experts,
I am not sure if this is the right forum to discuss SAP BPC related queries and about certification for the same. If not please direct me to right forum.
So here is my query regarding certification.
Looked at SAP's curricula.. I can find BPC 7.5 certification. But it requires one to have attended both netweaver and MS version.
Do we know if there is only netweaver based certifcation?
    Thanks,
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
Not that I am aware of, if there is a seperate Certification for NW and MS versions available.
However you can go through the link in which you can find SAP BPC 7.0 and BPC 7.5 Certification details.
    http://wsvprd1b.pearsonvue.com/Dispatcher?webApp=ExamList&webContext=CandidateSite&cid=407
    Hope this clarifies.

  • Minimum H/W to run SAP BPC 7.5 NW

    Hi Folks,
I have a question regarding hardware as for the performance testing.
We are currently dealing with performance testing in the early phase of design since the customer wants to see the initial expectation. The client wants to build server for the purpose of performance testing(NOT scalability testing, that is one user test with large amount of records), and want to know minimum size since it is only focused one user testing.
Anyone can tell me what is the minimum size of hardware to run SAP BPC NW?
    And few more questions,
    1. Is it possible to run SAP BPC with BW and NW in a single server?
    2. 1 above is true, what is the step of installation?(Just to provide info to the customer)
    3. Any customer to run SAP BPC NW in the cloud environment?
    Thanks in advance,
    YH Seo

    Hi,
Let me try to answer one by one.
    1. BPC and BW can be installed on the same hardware. However, if BW is installed on a linux platform, then BPC cant be installed there, because BPC is only supported on windows. Having said this, for the production system, I would suggest you to have the BPC and BW in 2 different systems. It will be better from the performance aspects.
    2. You will get all the information regarding the installation from the installation guide available on SAP service market place.
    3. Not that I am aware of. the development and quality can be run on a cloud environment. However, I wont suggest the same for the production system.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Do we have tables for SAP BPC EPM Comments ? if we have what are they could you please explain some one.

Hi Do we have tables for SAP BPC EPM Comments ? if we have what are they could you please explain some one.

    Hi Narahari,
Yes, we have tables for SAP BPC EPM comments and it is stored in backend BW.
Please follow the below steps to see it -
    1. Go to RSA1 and find the infoprovider name for the application/cube that contains the comments For example, the infoprovider name is /CPMB/VZIKG4O
    2.  Then Go to SE16 and enter the comment table name.  The comment tables are generated tables.  You can determine there name by using the following rules:
      a.  The table name always starts with '/1CPMB/'
      b.  The rest of the name is derived from the infoprovider name - it is the first two characters after the second '/' + the fourth, fifth and sixth characters + CMT (for comments) or CMTA (for archived comments). In my case the comments table name would be "/1CPMB/VZKG4CMT" and the archived comments table would be "/1CPMB/VZKG4CMTA".
    3.  Hit 'F7' or click the table contents button.
    4.  Enter the criteria for the comments you wish to export.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP BPC Training

    Hello,
I am a new entrant to SAP world. I would interested in taking up SAP BPC as technology and learn. I downloaded the documents from SCN site, but unable to implement them or understand them unless there is a live environment or video sessions availble.
could some one route me to SCN video trainings on BPC module?
    Thanks

    Saraswathi,
I agree with Saida, your first step should be taking either the 410 (MS) or 420 (NW) Admin class.
Link to classes here. If you take the class you can use the environment provided otherwise you will either need to build one on a server or get access to a server which could be problematic.
In terms of videos, try this site.

  • SAP BPC - Formation - Need help

    Hello everybody,
First of all, I want to thank all people who will at least read my thread. I'm a junior consultant who need help on SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) - ex. OutllookSoft. So, if you have some tutorials, some documents, something that can help me to learn how to use SAP BPC, I will be very grateful to you. Up to now, I just read the "Help" of SAP BPC (OutlookSoft 4.2.419), the version I have to use. But it is just a technical help, I have nothing about the terms used (what is an application, a member, etc.), the philosophy of the tool, etc. To finish, if someone, from Paris (in France) is using this tool, I can pay him or her to form me on this tool.
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards, Ivan.
    PS: sorry for my English...

    Hi,
    You can go to
    http://help.sap.com/
And navigate to SAP Business Objects -> EPM Solutions -> Business Planning and Consolidation.
Under the heading, SAP BPC 5.0, click on "Application help and Installation Guide".
This will take you to the document repository in SAP Marketplace. You will get the documents which will provide you with the basic understanding of the tool.
However, you will need S-user ID to ligon to SAP Marketplace.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP BPC 7.5 SP3 and Citrix Entering Data through BPC Client and Citrix

    Hello BPC experts,
my client is using SAP BPC 7.5 SP3 in combination with Citrix. We are having problems now, while entering data through the BPC Client (installed on BPC Server) and the BPC Client (running on Citrix).
When we enter data through the BPC Client (Server) and expand the sheet, we can only see the data that we entered through the BPC client (Server). When entering data through the BPC Client (Citrix), we can see only the data we enter through the BPC Client (Citrix).
The database, however, saves both entries correctly. For test purposes we created a test report which shows both entries correctly in the BPC Client on the server and on Citrix.
Does anyone have an idea what can be wrong with our system? We tried to create an EvDRE log File for this BPC version as well, but failed. Maybe one of you already did that and can help me with this.
    Thanks in advance!
