SAP BPX for Masterdata - coming soon ?

Dear community,
maybe you have seen the SAP F&R BPX page under
The question is open, do we need an additional BPX page for common masterdata in SAP Retail
Please post in this thread, which topics are from interest.
All topics should be related to the master data topic.
e.g.
EAN/GTIN handling
Screen sequences and field selection
What is your need - we hear you !
Regards
Björn

Hi Bjorn,
Yes Master Data is a vast subject and it is one of the key factors of a project success.  .
Let us take a few examples:
a) We have Merchandise Hierarchy and also there is Article Hierarchy . What is the significance of these two.
b) In SAP you can have 9 levels of hierarchy levels but it is recommended that you go for max 5 or 6 levels. Why?
c) What is the use of  Layout Modules Tab in Articles Creation Tcode MM41 _ Additional data
d) How to use Multiple EANs
e) Why I need not go for external number ranges for my Articles  and only internal number ranges are usually in practice
f) What is the significance of using Prepack or Display Articles.
g) How to use Group Articles ?
H) When we should recommend Value-Only Articles?
i) What is requirement group in Articles Creation?
The above are only a few instances. There are so many challenges in Master Data.
It is welcome.

  • Is Oracle 11g XE for Windows coming soon?

Does anyone know the due date for the mentioned version?
    Thanks a lot.

There have been many discussions around this topic. The answer is 'NO date provided'.
Some unsubstantiated rumours have even said no 11gXE until 11gR2.
Besides - we probably should wait at least until 11g for Windows as that is the larger target audience for XE.
In other words - patience is encouraged. <g>

  • App Store Volume Purchasing for Business - Coming Soon

What many people have been asking for.

Apple's made no announcement about expanding the VPP to other countries that I've seen. Until they do, no one here will know any more than you do.

  • Ideas for a simple solution to Coming Soon sign on my site till it's ready

    Hello all!
I am downloading my site files for the first time from my server, over an hour now and although my site can be seen on the 'net, it's not ready. I wanted to put a Coming Soon sign to alert any viewers that my site is not yet ready for business. Any thoughts or ideas from anyone who had done this before? I have a few ideas rolling around in my head. I just wanted to get some feedback from all of you. Thanks!

You may wish to place a graphic image or notice on your Index.html page telling people the site is under construction.
Typically, I upload pages to a TEST folder on the remote server to work out any kinks first.  Then when I'm sure everything works as it should, I move them to the root folder using a 3rd party FTP ware like Cute FTP, FileZilla or WS_FTP pro.  And then I delete the TEST folder.

  • Coming Soon page for iPhone

any chance that apple would update the Coming Soon page for iPhone in other countries, coz the list seems to be the exact same since forever !!

    Hi
you may do better in the Developer or even the iWeb sections - but possibly the iPhone is designed to display regular (much wider than 480) pages w/o scrolling, so defaults to 'squeezing' yours to suit that.

  • Is there an update for AE CS5 coming soon?

Is there an update for AE CS5 coming soon?  I am hoping it will fix the problems I am having...

I can't say when updates are coming or what will or won't be in a given update.
But I can say that we have fixes in the works for some issues, including the AIFF issue.
    Stay tuned.

  • Is there an official Rugby World Cup App for iPhone coming any time soon?

Is there an official Rugby World Cup App for iPhone coming any time soon?

Its good to know that I am not the only one left wondering about this!
I expected the RWC 2011 website to post some information regarding this, though it appears they have something set up with Blackberry already.
I'm holding out, hoping that an official app will come along, but some of the non-official ones seem quite decent.
There seems to be a real lack of iDevice and Andriod official services/support for this RWC, which is a real shame because this would be the first RWC where you could combine the sport with great technology and communications.
To me it appears the organizers missed a great oppertuinity or suck at planning/promoting.
An iPhone/iPad official app would be fantastic!

  • Coming Soon from Apple an Update to Safari for Windows ...

... with a lot of missing features:
    Read at
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
    Coming Soon
    Support for International users
    International text input methods
Advanced text (contextual forms, international scripts)
    Localized menus and help
    NTLM support
    PAC file auto-detection
    FTP directory listings
Link to proxy settings from Safari (Safari respects the proxy settings in the Windows Internet control panel)
    Cookie management
    LiveConnect support
    Tooltips
    Spell checking
    Printing page numbers, titles, margins
    (...)

Yes, the question was not directed at you, even if I might have appreciated if you had made something up, just to make me happy.
The question was more directed at Apple, who have not been brilliant with the communication regarding Safari for Windows. Example: For several days they proudly presented Safari for Windows on the main page of their Japanese web site, even though one of the most glaring limitations was that the first betas would not work in Japanese - at all.
In contrast to many people in this forum, I do not mind that there are serious limitations and bugs in the beta. However, I am disappointed that Apple does not list the problems up front.

  • Aol 6.0 coming out for macs anytime soon?

Hello, I just recently downloaded the new MSN Messanger, of which is compatible with the intel processors and regular macs. I was wondering if AOL is coming out with a new AIM for mac as well? There is of course iChat, but I use AIM more than I do iChat. It'd be great if someone could inform me whether or not AIM 6.0 will be coming out for macs anytime soon.
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I've not even heard rumors about any new Mac apps out of AOL. I wouldn't hold my breath.
    Have you tried Adium?
Right now I'm running an AIM session, as well as MSN, Yahoo, and two Jabber sessions (GoogleTalk and Jabber.org). But, of course, iChat is best for video.

  • Leave Request, Message that has 'Coming Soon' to our users

    Hello Everyone,
We are going live with ESS in the next few months and although we are rolling ESS out to everyone, we are piloting Leave Request to our Exempt population.  I would like for our Exempt associates to access Leave Request normally, but have our other ESS users see a message titled 'Coming Soon' when they access Leave Request.  For our other (non-exempt users) they should see the 'Coming Soon' message  but also not see any of the functionality of Leave Request.  My preference is to do this without making two portal roles.
Does anyone know of a good way to accomplish this in SAP Config.  If no option exist in config, then how about the Portal/WDJ?
    Thank you for your help.
    Scott

    Hi Everyone,
I would like to follow up on this to see if anyone has any further ideas on how to show a message on leave request that is based on the employee (payroll area).
Unfortunately using a proxy class is not going to work for us because we are not using the homepage framework.
An alternative solution to a message is to hide certain fields on the leave request application for a group of associates that have a certain payroll area (ABKRS).  For example, it would be beneficial for us to hide the fields 'Type of Leave', 'Date', 'Time', etc because we do not want to allow a group of associates to submit leave; however, it would be ok for them to see their Team Calendar.
Does anyone know how this could be accomplished?  If a change to the WDJ is required, then will you please give direction as to where and how in the WDJ this could be changed?  I have imported the WDJ already but I am at a loss as to what to do next.
    Best Regards,
    Scott

  • SAP GUI for Mac OS X 10.4

I want to upgrade my Macs to Apples current operating system Mac OS X 10.4.1 Tiger. I had read few weeks ago, the JAVA-Implementation doesn't work with any SAP GUI for Java. SAP has recommended, to still work with Mac OS X 10.3.9 and SAP GUI for Java 6.30 Revision 8.
When will be available a working SAP GUI for Mac OS X 10.4.1 Tiger ? Has someone informations ?

    Hello all,
I completely understand the impact of the missing Mac support. I try to explain the reason for the current situation and give an outlook.
Starting in summer 2004, the SAPGUI development team and test labs have dedicated a significant amount of time in testing on Mac OS X 10.4 preview versions, reporting bugs and pushing Apple to fix them. We opened more than 20 bug reports, which were not exclusively related to SAP GUI, just plain JFC/Swing issues. Unfortunately two show-stoppers for SAP GUI were left at the time Apple shipped Mac OS X 10.4.
Since April this year we are running more tests on developer preview versions of the Java 1.4.2 Release 2, which is supposed to address these issues.
With developer preview 3, there are no severe open issues left and we are just waiting for Apple to ship the final version of JRE 1.4.2 Release 2.
Apple has not disclosed any shipment schedules in the past and so we have not been able to plan for something. If we would have known in advance, that the final version will be that long after developer preview 3, we would have started a beta seed based on a TEA (test and evaluation agreement) at the time developer preview 3 was available (beginning of August).
Last week Apple has indicated that the final version of Java 1.4.2 Release 2 is expected to become available every day now. I hope Apple is right and this thread will be obsolete soon. SAP GUI for Java 6.40 rev 4 including the Mac OS X version is already waiting on the loading ramp.
If there is no final version of Java 1.4.2 Release 2 by end of September we will provide an unsupported SAPGUI based on a test and evaluation agreement.
    Best regards

  • Intigrating SAP and Non-SAP system for recruitment process

    Hi All,
Our Client has a requirement which is related to Recruitment. The requirement is that the employee resumes ,photos and credentils are stored in legacy system. The shortlisted resumes sud be transferred into SAP and the hiring process sud be done in SAP.After the hiring process , the status of the applicants sud be triggered in the legacy system and not in the SAP system.
Is there any Standard BAPI's for this requirement. Any Workflow is involved in this requirement.
As a HR Abaper i need to give the complete technical details for this requirement. Pls advice me on this .This is very urjent.
    Points will be awarded.
    Many Thanks,
    Chakradhar Maddina

what is this 3rd party application?
if anyways they are using SAP for masterdata, why dont they use the same for applicant data?
ok for whatever the reason they have decided that..only way looks like is to do it manually,
create a bdc/lsmw for the hiring process and let them use it regularly for hiring all the selected applicants in a single go.
as for updating their system with the updated status, again i think they should do it manually.or maybe if their legacy system allows mass data update/chages.
becoz you do the creation of BDC/LSMW only once not everytime you want to hire.. i think its an easir process. also wait for other experts to give their feed back you may get some valuable info.
    hope it helps

  • How to create SEO friendly, responsive "Coming Soon" page? [was:Help please! I am very new!]

    Hi Guys,
First off, this is my first post, and will be one of many, as the Dreamweaver bug his bitten, and bitten hard!
I am new to web design, and am learning Dreamweaver and want to become a web designed after hours as a second job/hobby.
I am currently (unsuccessfully) working on getting a "coming soon" page up and running.
I would like the image to be scalable - however then all my text goes everywhere. I cant have it as a image as then Google doesn't index it, as well as i need to have a hyperlink in the body of the text.
If someone could point me into the right direction, I would be forever thankful!
    I have attached the code:

I would like the website to ajust automatically to different brower sizes without having white on the sides, and the text moving all over the place.
Try this % width layout.  Copy & paste code into a new, blank document in DW.  SaveAs test.html.  Preview in browsers at various viewport widths and text sizes.

  • ESD or SAP Website for updates?

We use PrintForm, Ace and Presort. As far as I know, the last official word was that we should use the old ESD for directory updates and to download software, but this would be migrated to the SAP website 'soon'. Has this actually happened? There is no indication on the ESD website that we should use the SAP site now. But it appears that the software and directory files are now on the SAP site. The last e-mail I received on the subject indicated that customers should continue to use the ESD.
Which is the authorative site? If the SAP site is the correct place, could a splash screen or something be set on the ESD to ware/redirect customers?

    Mark,
You can use either the ESD or SAP website for downloads.  Not all download have been migrated to SAP for all customers yet.  If your downloads are on SAP feel free to use it for downloading.
    Thanks,
