    Hello Marc and Sander,
I checked the document status and tested the link myself using a PC external to the SAP environment and did not have any problem. You do have to be logged in to do this. If you are not, you should see a page that will appear which says that a login is required to use that feature. On some occassions, users see an error message instead. I apologize for that.

  • SAP Business Workflow / Organizational Plan

    Hi,
This is not specific to SRM, but is specific to SAP Business Workflow within ECC, relating to Organizational Management:
    We have more than one instance of SAP, where one instance is used to run all of our business, except SAP HR (let's call this SAP Instance 1), and another instance that is only used for SAP HR (let's call this SAP Instance 2);
    We want to implement SAP business workflow (e.g. approving requisitions through workflow in ECC);
Is it possible to use our SAP organizational plan that is already defined in our SAP HR instance of SAP (SAP Instance 2), instead of defining an SAP Organizational plan in SAP Instance 1 only to support SAP business workflow.
Is it possible to define an interface from SAP Instance 1 to 2, to look up the requisition approver, pass it back to instance 2, and then send the workflow to the appropriate person.  Or is there another better approach?  e.g. Replicate organizational plan that exists in instance 2 in instance 1?
From what I have briefly read online thus far, I understand that "The organizational plan is part of the PD component "Organization and Planning. The organizational plan is maintained on a client-dependent basis. An organizational plan which was created for personnel management purposes (or is to be created) can be used in SAP Business Workflow without any changes, provided the workflow functionality and the personnel management application run in the same client."  To me, this sounds like that the workflow functionality and organizational plan must exist in the same system and client.
Any thoughts, suggestions, or any advice to share?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
It depends on how you will get approver from system.
If it is not from organization plan, organization plan is not required.
You can also call remote FM to get approver from other systems.
    Regards,
    Masa

    Hi AD1981,
Standard solution would be using distributed Organisational Management. There is custom ALE for this (check tcode SALE: Application Link Enabling (ALE) -> Modelling and Implementing Business Processes -> Predefined ALE Business Processes -> Human Resources -> Master Data Distribution -> Set Up Distributed Organizational Management). Basically you would maintain organsation in HR system and distribute changes to other instance using ALE. Workflow would rely on the distributed org. structure.

  • SAP BW-BPS (Business Planning and Simulation)

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me, what will be the impact on SAP BW-BPS (Business Planning and Simulation) after upgradation fron SAP BW 3.5 to SAP BI 7.0.
or what all care need to be taken before upgradation?
    Regards,
    Prateek

Please allow me this opportunity to point out that "upgradation" and "updation" are not real words. The correct terms are "upgrade" and "update".
Seems trivial, but I've seen them make their way into names of workflow steps and class methods.
    Yes, English is not logical!
    creation - yes
    deletion - yes
    updation - no   It's update.

  • Windows 2008 Server R2 & SAP Business One

Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with SAP Business One and Terminal Service on Windows 2008 Server R2?  We are finding a number of issues with this configuration and we are looking for any feedback that is out there.
Here is the situation - our customer is running SAP Business One v2007 SP01 PL09 Hotfix4 on a Windows 2008 Server R2 machine.  All users (15 max) access SBO via Terminal Service to this machine, which also holds the databases (SQL Server 2005).  The machine currently has 20GB of RAM.
    What we are finding is:
    1) When any process related to SBO (SBO core or add-ons) consumes some portion of memory, none of that memory is ever released back to the O/S until SBO is completely closed.  So over the course of a day each user ends up simply consuming more and more memory as forms are opened for transactions.  While we do see this in Windows 2003 Server to some extent, at least some memory is released when a given form is closed.
    2) Once the system hits a point where around 75% of RAM is consumed the users start seeing application "hangs" and are forced to manually terminate SBO (via Task Manager) and restart.  There doesn't seem to be any paging or use of virtual memory (if my terms are right) in use.
    3) If the system is busy and a new window/form is opened the new window immediately (within one or two seconds) presents the "Not Responding" message on the new window.  Depending on the circumstances the application is simply waiting for resources and will continue opening normally.
I would appreciate feedback from anyone who has experience with Windows 2008 Server R2; and especially using it for Terminal Services.  My personal feeling is that it is a platform that should be avoided but we would certainly like to hear what other folks have to say.

I believe the supporting of this OS is still on Planned basis.  You may check with SAP support to give them a good user case to fight with any non-compatible issues.
    Thanks,

    Hi Cristian,
As peter mentioned, Please refer to SDK Online Help=>Content=>Degeloper Guide=>DI Server
In addition, you can the sample code of DI Server here:
    <<...
    SAPSAP Business One SDKSamplesDI Server>>
As regard to php sample, sorry we don't such sample so far.
Per php, I recommend you to B1WS, a web service wrapper of DI Server for only those 45 services objects. You can download B1WS here: SDK Tools Download:
SAP Business One Tools [original link is broken]
=>SAP Business One Web Services Wrapper Tool
From technical perspective, DI Server is based DCOM technology, I am not sure it is natively supported php. So you may think about wrapping DI server as web server with ASP.net, just like B1WS. php<=>web server<=>DI server
