SAP BW Environment - What documentation is needed to support it?

I am currently working on an existing SAP BW system, but there is no documentation at all for it. We need to create appropriate documentation to enable easier understanding of the environment going forward.
However, what type of detailed documentation would be needed to fully support an SAP BW environment.
I assume we'd need to create the following types of documents...
- Architecture Overview
- Blueprint / Technical Spec
- Query Spec
- Authorisations & Security Document
...but have I missed anything??

I need to replace my antique mac pro 1.1
I am now retired and my needs tend more towards games than av creation so the new Mac Pro is not only overkill but the dual video I here is not optimized for games in any case.
The problem is all of my existing FireWire 800 gear and no FireWire ports on the new iMac designs
I guess I need to buy an external thunderbolt case for the 4 2 terabyte drives in the old pro do any of the external T-bolt cases offer good FireWire 800 support (full speed support) for all of my old gear?
Are there other ways to support these devices than an external t-bolt case for sata drives?
And for a game playing iMac is a fusion drive or a large solid state drive best choice bearing in mind I will have about 10 terabytes of FireWire and t-bolt external storage ( I was thinking of making the drives in the required t-bolt external case a raid array for best performance)
So what external t-bolt drive case should I buy and if it does not support a set of FireWire 800 ports what external t-bolt gadget for that support should I buy?

Perhaps, though as with anything it depends on your needs. I don't know of any such device, though. All the Thunderbolt docks I've seen that have Firewire at all have only a single port. You could use a TBolt to FW adapter with Thunderbolt ports in a dock, though. A Firewire hub isn't a lot of good other than providing multiple connectors since all devices are on the same FW bus and hence not really much different from daisy-chaining. There's certainly no performance improvement and probably not much in the way of stability improvement either.
I was told a long time ago back in the mac 2fx sccsi days that daisy chaining things should be avoided and giving things their own pro was better does this advice sill hold good?
SCSI was very different (and usually wasn't a problem as long as it was terminated correctly). Daisy-chaining FW is different, though it very much depends on the devices and the sort of throughput you need. Daisy-chaining Thunderbolt should be no problem at all as long as the devices support it.

What is the minimum software requirement to support
ColdFusion sites ona Windows web server running Windows Server 2003
OS?
I don't need to develop or modify any sites in CF...I have a
client that wants to migrate their site to my server and I don't
want to buy an expensive license for a full version of CF only to
be able to host their site. Is there a backbone that can be
installed on a server so that CF sites will function, without
installing a full version?
Nobody at Adobe or my server hosting company seems to be able
to answer this question, so I;d certainly appreciate any feedback.

No. You need at least a full CF Standard Edition.

What equipment is needed for secure voip environment?

I have tried searching it but seems like i can't find any...
I need to setup a secure voip environment for a demostration,with least costing. What equipment do i need?
Can CCME handle or i need to go for callmanager at least, if so which version?

I haven't secured CME but CCM can be secured out of the box with encryption for the phones. Here is the documentation for this.

Goto transaction 'SU10'
Here you have all the data selection regarding a particular user id, so what you can do is do F1 on any of the fields and see the technical help in that for the table names.
some of the tables are :
                                 1) 'USUSERS'(User: Transfer structure for lists of users),
                                 2) 'USER_ADDR' (Users by address data)
                                 3) 'USUSERALL' (Users with All Data for List Output)

Do I need both?

i think you can directly download simply SAP NetWeaver 2004s from

Installations instruction are contained.
The IDE you should use is eclipse based and it is called Netweaver Developer studio, you can download it from service.sap.com (require OSS user) under SAP Software Distribution Center.

I do not think SP are delivered for the MiniWAS environment.
I think that you will need a license from SAP for IDES, so I think you have to pay.

As per my understanding as of now MI is not available in SIT system.Once MI is avaliable in SIT system, we need to move all the development objects into SIT system from DEV system.
There is an option of transporting all the objects from one system to other(in the same release NWO4 or NWO4S)(If all the development objects like tables,syncbos,bapis etc are stored in a package in DEV system..that package can be transported to SIT system..i am not sure how far it is going to be feasible..but for sure this is a good option you can try...then all the development objects will be present in SIT system and then we can deploy the application and test it)
Other wise if this transport is not possible then we need to re-create all the tables(objects) etc in SIT system same as in DEV system.
We can connect to multiple backend to one MI client..this should be possible.

Master data is data that remains unchanged over a long period of time. Master data contains information that is always needed in the same way. Characteristics can bear master data in BW. With master data you are dealing with attributes, texts or hierarchies.
If characteristics have attributes, texts, or hierarchies at their disposal then we speak of master data-bearing characteristics.
Few types of Master Data
1) The master data of a cost center contains the name, the person responsible, the relevant hierarchy area, and so on.
2) The master data of a supplier contains the name, address, and bank details.
3) The master data of a user in the SAP system contains his/her access authorizations to the system, the standard printer, start transaction, and so on.
Use
When you create a characteristic InfoObject, it is possible to assign attributes, texts, hierarchies, or a combination of this master data to the characteristic. If a characteristic bears master data, you can edit it in BW in master data maintenance.
Master data for a characteristic is uploaded into BW using an InfoSource with direct updating.
You can also update characteristics with master data flexibly. In this case the InfoObject becomes the data target or InfoProvider. However, you must explicitly declare the InfoObject in the InfoObject maintenance to be the InfoProvider.

Cannot open Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP\NSP\Environment ?

Hello, after installing the NetWeaver 7.01 Trial on my Windows Server 2008 I get this error:
Cannot open Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP\NSP\Environment (Error 2 ENOENT: No such file or directory OR: The system cannot find the file specified.) [ntservmgr.cpp 306]
Starting the server does not work, it goes from grey to yellow to grey again and I think the above error is the cause. Whats the problem?

Thank you Srikishan, I reviewed the link you provided, it solves uninstall and re-install problem for one laptop, however, we have many laptops, can't do manual registry clean up for all of them. The installation was done by mobile client silent script, needs to be successful the very first time.
This error only happens with the very 1st installation, means fresh OS that never had any SAP, I am wondering what is the installation program trying to change in the registry, does it have to go that deep into registry? and what other components are affected by the error "Can't open registry key "HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAP DBTECH"?
From the log, the command ran before the error was "CALL: SDBINST -b -t sapmc -f C:\Program Files\SAP Netweaver Mobile Client\MaxDB Files\sdb_MIDB_sample.cfg", is it a sample program and do we need it? is this caused the error?
for remaining errors(many of them), there is one very odd
"SYS: "c:\sdb\programs\runtime\7300\bin\irconf.exe" -i -p "c:\sdb\programs\runtime\7300": Error : Cannot find any installed version of CPC Driver.."
What caused it?

This varies from package to package. If you see Hibernate which is a OR mapping library, you get support for it which is run by a altogether different company but you might not get the support for your other library codes. so..varies with what you are trying to use.

This will also depend on the free source stuff you are trying to use. Say in case of Struts or log4j like packages, you wont find any flaws as the industry is heavily relying on these today. but a new library and yes, you need fair amount of testing for that.

SAP would be the best option to enquire with :).

Not necessary you have to upgrade.If a current version suffices your business requirement then stick with it.
Even if you change to a latest version,you might need to tweak with your java versions (say upgrade java also) but the existing functionality in previous versions will continue to work fine though..

Are you trying to install the DB on Linux from your Windows Box? if so, you need to have an XWindows client on your client. You have to SSH or Telnet into the box, set your DISPLAY variable. In fact, it is all in your documentation for the DB install. We still don't understand what you are exactly asking.
Do you have direct access to your Linux machine? If so, and it has a graphical GUI, then you can find install guides for most flavors of Linux at dizwell.com. His are most excellent and show examples, but do not go over the XWindows problem. You would have to resolve that first.
A free XWindows environment for Windows is Cygwin.
Once the DB is running on Linux then all you do is create a TNS entry on it on your client and it connects. It is the same as setting up a connection to connect to Oracle on a Windows box.
