SAP BW Report iView problem

Hi,
Im trying to create a SAP BW Report iView with a BEx URL, but Im getting an error:
Session Management will not work! Please check the DSM log file for details.
When I use the wizard (for SAP BW Report iView), it asks me to fill out the web application string. Here I pasted in the URL. I left the application parameters blank.
The BEx URL:
http://<hostname>/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=DA&bsplanguage=DA&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=WEB_TRAFIK_STARTSIDE
The BW call works fine in the browser and with a URL iView!?
EP 6.0 / WAS 6.40 / BW 3.5

you should be using BW Report iView.
and when you create BW Report iView pass the following for the querystring parameter
CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=WEB_TRAFIK_STARTSIDE
for this to work, in the system definition WAS host , was path and was protocol should be maintained

I want to show BW reports on the portal. Can anybody suggest me the different ways of doing it ? And also let me know about checklist of steps that need to be performed.
Can anybody tell me the difference between showing BW reports through URL iviews, showing reports through Query iView and showing reports through SAP BW Report iView ?
Which one can i use for showing BW reports taking into consideration the implementation of SSO between the two? I tried the URL iView (using the Web URL of reports generated by BW) but it asks for Username/password. Is that the problem with SSO. How can i check if SSO parameters have been set or not. I have imported the verify.der to BW System and added that to ACL. Is there anything else which is required?

Hi Manoj,
I feel BW report iview will solve your problem. You can create a query sting in BW query designer and give the same in BW query string text area while creating BW report iview.
In the case of an url iview you are just giving a URL link of the BW report (this will ask for username/password).
But, in the case of a BW report iview you can view the required query as an iview (user mapping can be successfully done in this case) You should give fully qualified domain name in Was server option while creating the system.
While using the logon ticket Login id of both the system (ie BW and Portal) should be the same.

Unable to change language for SAP BW Report Iview

Dear all
We are currently rolling out BW Web Templates can be displayed in both EN and MS languages. The language can be changed via the URL that we display, e.g.
For English Language:
http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=EN&cmd=ldoc&template_id=ZTEST
For Malay Language :
http://<hostname>:<port>/sap/bw/BEx?SAP-LANGUAGE=7&cmd=ldoc&template_id=ZTEST
We have published these templates into Ent. Portal 6 using SAP BW Report Iview, but unfortunately we cannot view the report in the Malay language (SAP-LANGUAGE=7), even though we have inserted the command SAP-LANGUAGE=7 in the SAP BW Report Iview query string. All the reports, although defaulted to SAP-LANGUAGE=7 displays in English. We also tried to set the language settings for the Iview, but there are no language 7 or MS in the Iview. It can only be defaulted to the Portals language, which is English.
Note that the reports can be viewed in the different languages if we using the URL separately outside of Portal, and also within BW Bex Analyzer itself. Only the Portal doesnt allow us to view the reports in MS language.
Can someone help us on this matter? All helps really appreciated. Thanks a lot.

That's a bit odd indeed. If I understand your question correctly, you do get the BW reports in the correct language (either English or Malay) using the url's in your post but not when using them within a standard BW report iView?
The language setting for the iView has, unfortunately, nothing to do with the language for the content itself but can you tell me what the requested URL is for both Reports?
The BW Report iView is based on the Application Integration Component that generates the URL based on the paramaters you provide in the BW report iView.The following template is being used: <iView[PORTAl_URL]>?System=<System[url_Encode]>&Report=<Report>&DynamicParameter=<DynamicParameter[url_Encode]>. I could be that the generation of the URL fails due to the 7 (don't know why, just a gut feeling because it's the only thing that's different between those urls). You could try to use create an iView based on the Application Integrator instead (some more control over the URL template) but first you need to check whether the URL generated by the iView is correct.

Issue with SAP BW Report Iview

Hi,
The issue stands with the context menu(right click menu)
I have created a BI Query and generated a BW Report with the Web Designer Wizard.
When I run the generated URL it is working fine, with the context menu also working perfectly.
However when I use that report in SAP BW Report Iview, the report gets opened perfectly but the context menu is taking me to a new page with those options.
As of now i do not know of any setting for context menu specially.
If anyone can help me or if anyone has encountered this error before, pl. let me know the solution.

When i create a BW Report iView 7.x in EP 6.0, the second level context menu doesn't appear for the template. Please let me know if this can be fixed.

Creating SAP BW Report iview in Portal to access BW System

Hello Everybody ,
Iam creating an iview for publishin BW Reports in Enterprise Portal with the iview name SAP BW Report iview ,it asks for BEx Web Application Query String and Application Parameters and we are stuck over that.Do we need to create some standard templates for it and then connect them to reports .What should we enter under these parameters.Kindly revert back.
When we launch the SAPBWWebAppDesigner for template designing,an error message is displayed as mentioned below.Kindly please check that and the reason for its display.Do we need to make certain configurations for the Webapplication server for BW ,if any one has a document /guide available for that,kindly please revert back.
Error:
"You are logged on to an application server that does not support HTTP.Some of the Web Application Designer functions are therefore not available.Do you want to logon to a different application server?"
We are also not able to connect to the Web Application Server of BW directly by putting the url of the WAS into our browser.Are any extra configurations needed for that on the BW side for WEBAS.

SAP LVS Report Viewer Problem?

I installed the SAP LVS Service and SAP LVS Client AddOn to all Workstation Successfully, but when i generate the SAP LVS Report Viewer, there was no report Generated.

The report viewer gets information from the LVS database and the database by default is only updated each day at 23:00 hours. You can change this in the ReportClasses.xml file that is located in the "LV Service" folder. If you change the time to update the LVS Db, you will also need to stop and then restart the LVS Service. Also, be careful as the LVS Db will grow in size the more often it is updated.
You may want to wait until you hit the 23:00 hours mark and then try the reports. Also, verify the Business One clients add-on is running or information will also not be collected.

I have created BW system and have specified all the properties and have done the user mapping.
Is there any configuration which i need to do from BW side.

Durairaj: Web As connection is successful. but i am not logging in to the portal using FQDN.
Guru: both the application servers are different. I trying to use SAP logon tickets for SSO. Hope that will work.
Vinod: I tried using Com.sap...appintegrator.sap and it is working. But in the web application query string after giving full url only it is not asking for user authentication again.Do we need to give the full url in the web application query string???

Help with BI Report iView integration!

I have been provided with a BI 7.0 Report URL (http://<BI FQDN>:8000/sap/bw/BEx?cmd=ldoc&infocube=<SUPPLIED INFOCUBE>&query=<SUPPLIED QUERY>&sap-language=EN) that i need to integrate into Portal as an iView. I have created BI System in the Portal System Landscape by entering following Parameters:
Connector Properties:
Logical System Name: <BI LS Name>
SAP Client: 100
SAP System ID (SID): B01
SAP System Number: 00
System Type: SAP_BW
User Management Properties:
Logon Method: UIDPW
User Mapping Type: admin, user

After this i gave an alias SAP_BW for this system and then did the User Mapping for this system with my user account. Now i from PCD i am creating a New iView of type "SAP BW Report iView" and entered following parameters:
Application Verison: 7.x
Application Parameter: SAP_BW
BEx Web Application Query String: infocube=<SUPPLIED INFOCUBE>&query=<SUPPLIED QUERY>
Then when i do a PREVIEW test i get following message:
Service cannot be reached
What has happened?
URL http://<BI FQDN>:8000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
Note
The termination occurred in system B01 with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.
The selected virtual host was 0 .
What can I do?

If i execute the same query from Query Designer then also i get a error screen with an invalid URL in the address bar and a message in the body saying "The Page Cannot be Displayed". The URL that is pointed from Query Designer is:

BW Report iView issue

I am having a strange issue when I try to preview a BW iView via the Portal:
The iView gets generated but the screen displays only the icons but not the data. I expect a variable screen to pop-up to enter the Calmonth but I don't get that.
Note that this is the first BW iView I am trying to generate on an EP6 SP14 system with BW 3.1 SP16.
The system landscape, Aliases, connection tests etc are
all successful and we are using weak encryption (ume.usermapping.unsecure=TRUE).
Please help me with this situation.

The URL iView works fine for me. It is only the "SAP BW Report iView" that is not working correctly.
I tried both the below types of iViews:
 1. BEx Web application: template_id=<TEMPLATE_ID>
 2. BW query: infocube=<INFOCUBE>&query=<QUERY>
Can any one tell me where I am going wrong in maintaining the following String properties for above two types of iViews:
 1. template_id=TEST_PORTAL_TEMPLATE_001
 2. infocube=s900&query=TEST_PORTAL_QUERY_001

SAP Crystal Reports data source connection problem using sap business one

I m facing a problem regarding: SAP Crystal Reports data source connection problem using sap business one
I am trying to create a Crystal report but when I try to configure a new connection it does not work.
I select Sap Business One data source and try to complete the information required to connection but it does not list my companies databases, what is the problem?
Our Current SAP related software details are as follows:
OS: Windows Server 2008
SAP B1 Version: SAP B1 9 (902001) Patch 9
SAP Crystal Report Version: 14.0.4.738 RTM
Database: MS SQL Server 2008 R2
I have also added some screenshots of the issues.

I had faced same problem, I used OLEDB Data-source, and it worked fine for me.

PROBLEM EXPLANATION
Pretend that the attached excel file is a crystal report file
Column A is the details to be compared. Column B is the details that i will have to use a formula in sap crystal report.

Problem while fetching more records in SAP ABAP report program

Hello Frinds,
I have SAP ABAP report program which fetches data from usr02 table
Now, program is working fine with less number of records, bot in production there are more than 200000 records and either report gets timed out or there is run time error like buffer area not available.
Below is the fetch statement
SELECT bname FROM usr02 INTO TABLE lt_user
So, do I need to take records in small chunks, I do not think it is needed as I have worked on number of othere databases where there are number of records in single fetch statement and database itself take care of this.
Please provide me some approach to resolve this problem.

This will be very difficult for you.....
Since you are getting a time out error....it looks like, you are runnning this report in foreground....................
Try running it in background it will work...
ELSE....you have to fetch in small chunks....but the question is how will you do it. Since the USR02 only has BNAME as primary key...
Either put the BNAME as part of selection screen and fetch the data.....it will solve your problem....
Only fetch for those BNAME which is entered in the selection screen...

Problem in developing a Portal Activity Report iView

I have developed a Portal Activity Report iView and assigned some iviews to the "Specify Report Content" option! I am supposed to get the user information but instead, I see the message "No content available for the specified period".
Am I missing anything?
Can someone help me out in this regard!!!

Keep in mind that the Portal Activity Reporting functionality only collects user information from hits to pages that have the Monitor Users property set to true. You can monitor the number of hits to an iView, but cannot collect user information about those hits. If you need this kind of information for an iView, I would recommend adding the iView to a page and then collecting the activity reporting information you need from the page hits.

VBA problem with SAP BPC report

I have an EVDRE() SAP BPC report where one of the member id selection is derived using a VBA script. The problem I'm having is when I click on expand and refresh icon, the member id changes to #Value and the expansion and refresh fails as #Value is not a member id.
I would really appreciate any help on understanding why on expansion my VBA selected member id is replaced with #Value and how I can fix this if that is possible.

Thank you for your help with this problem which is now resolved.
Just to clarify we are on SAP BPC version 5.1
How it was resolved....
We had to use BEFORE_EXPAND as advised and also fix the calculation reference and finally also use AFTER_REFRESH.
We used VBA code to remember the dropdown lists option
and
copy the calculated member id into the pagekey dimension cell.
The AFTER_REFRESH restored the dropdown list option selected.
Not sure if the code is helpful but this is what we used....
