Can i find any SAP Press Books related to SAP CLM... I'm looking for a book or Pdf which states clear information on CLM and CLM scenarios, implementation procedure and configuration settings like other books (SAP SRM, CRM, ABAP......)

Possibility of having NW Gateway over SAP CLM?

Dear Experts,
We have a Customer requirement of using NW Gateway over SAP CLM. Can this forum please confirm if this is feasible?
To be precise:
We need to use NW Gateway on SAP CLM to expose the CLM RFCs as oData services and consume them in SAPUI5. The second is quite possible, I understand. My doubt is whether we can install NW Gateway on SAP CLM system to achieve our goal.
Any pointer is much appreciated!

based on SAP Sourcing/SAP CLM integration with SAP SRM and SAP Sourcing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , it is clear that CLM is part of SAP Sourcing which is part of business suite.
Again SAP Sourcing is part of SAP SRM which is of course part of business suite.

SAP SRM Contracts Vs SAP CLM Contract

Can you guys please tell me the difference between SAP SRM Contracts and SAP CLM Contracts.
In which factors SAP CLM serves better than SAP SRM??
Why SAP CLM came into existence when we have SRM Contracts? What are the draw back and what is not achieved with SRM Contracts?

There are many differences, SAP CLM Contract run in Sourcing and SAP SRM Contracts run in SRM.
Advantages CLM Contracts:
- Establish a contract as a result of a project
- build the draft agreement from a template
-   - Create your own folder structure to organize your contract attachments
    - Transfer quickly attachments between the different folders
-   - Download easily multiple attachments with a single click
- Administrator can create new customer fields (extensions) and customer tables (extension collections) for all      master agreements or specific master agreements
     - New customer fields are immediately available in the UI and as a search parameters
      - All is done via configuration, therefore no upgrade issues
     - Generation of contract document out of master agreement
     - Template Library with approved legal contract templates for quick contract generation
     - Possibility to provide end user with flexibility to modify the provided content from the template during contract creation
      - Adjust contract by adding or removing of clauses and sections to the content provided by the selected contract template
      - Multiple content options (alternative clause content) available to provide end user with controlled flexibility

SAP CLM Eresource patch upgrade

I am a basis administrator new to SAP CLM. Can any one give me a brief idea on how to upgarde SAP CLM Ereource patch from 5.1.8 SPS3 to 5.1.8 SPS4?

Hi Varun,
You can upgrade your system by uninstalling the existing version, then check the NW(If deployed onto SAPNW) version and then again deploy the latest version which you want to deploy. After that you need to upgrade the DB schema.

CLM/Sourcing to ECC - use to create "Purchase orders, Outline agreements, scheduling agreemnts"
CLM/Sourcing to SRM - use to create "Central Contacts" and this can then be distributed to the ECC systems connected to SRM (if ECC is connected to SRM).
On the above points can you elaborate a little ...
1. CLM/Sourcing to ECC --
      Where the Purchase Order, Outline Agreements and Scheduling agreements are created ? Did they got created in CLM and pushed to ECC?
      After reading a few documents from market place i never observed anywhere that we create PO's, Outline Agreement and Scheduling agreements.
2. CLM/Sourcing to SRM --
     Where the central contracts are created? Did they got created in CLM and pushed back to SRM (and from SRM it will be transferred to ECC?)
     If we are creating a Central contract in CLM then what is the need to push them back to SRM and from there to ECC? Cant we directly push the central contract to        ECC?
3. Also on what reasons we integration CLM to both ECC and SRM?
4. If we would like to use only Central Contracts then CLM-SRM integration is enough?
Please correct me if my understanding is wrong...

Hello Sankar,
In NWDS, a custom UWL Connector is a DC of type "Enterprise Portal / Portal Application Standalone [sap.com]".
Create such DC in your NWDS and prepare following kind of folder structure: -
DC
     src.api
               package containing an interface that extends IService
     src.core
               package containing: -
                    1. ItemActionHandler.java
                    2. Main connector class that implements IProviderConnector
                    3. class that implements interface declared in src.api
     dist
          PORTAL-INF
               classes
                    uwl_yourconnectorname_configuration.xml
               portalapp.xml
You have to write business logic to fetch tasks inside "getItems()" method of main connector class.

SAP CLM: Modifying Item detail to include a custom field

Hello,
Is it possible to modify the line item page to include another custom field ?
I navigated through Extension Definition configuration but there is no Class for Line Item. Is this even possible?

Thank you for your help. But I am unable to find out the correct class to include the extensions. As per the Reference Guide the class ID is 1604 but I am unbale to see this while trying to add the fields in Extension Definition Configuration.

SAP CLM - Dropping "None" from value list

Hi all,
The value lists created have two basic options - Yes and No. But by default "None" appears when value lists are mapped to a field i.e., when we view the filed in "Create Contract", the field defaults to none and gives an option to select Yes or No. How can we drop "None" which gets defaulted by itself? Instead it should appear blank.
If there are any suggestions, please help us.

Hi Karthik -
You cannot remove "none" from the value list.
One possible workaround I have seen some customers use is to "rename" the none to some other value. This has the affect changing the value in every value list used in the system. For example, I believe one customer changed the value to "select...". Would something like this work for you? This change can be made by changing the localized resource (Setup > System Setup > User Interface > Localized Resources). The localized resource to change is "bundle = cterms" and "id = cterm.none". Obviously, the value you should be updated for any language packs also installed.

SAP CLM format in contract documents

Hello Experts:
I am creating contract documents with tokens
1. I created some new fields in company code section:
     a. New field 1 <%New field 1%>
     b. New field 2 <%New field 2%>
     c. New field 3 <%New field 3%>
2. After I configured tokens to bring the information for the new fields in my contract document
     a. Created new token in variable library
     b. New token: <%New.token1%>
     c. Source object: Master Agreement
     d. Attribute name: company code
     e. check in advance object reference
     f. set document with <%New.field1%>
     g. upload sub variable, this include token <%New.field1%>
3. After this I repeated the same procedure with new field 2 and field 3 creating: <%New.token2%> and <%New.token3%>
When I tried to add this new token to a contract document I got different format of the document, for example I configured in the following way:
This contract with the company new field <%new.token1%>, and new field2 <%new.token2%>, and also <%new.token3%>..
And when I uploaded the document the result was the following:
This contract with the comapany new fields
Result 1
Result 2
Result 3
and the new field and also..
is there a way to fix this issue?

I solved this issue doing the following:
Uncheck the options of Generate MS Word 2007 and uncheck Enable MS Word 2007 content controls .
Now I am having another problem, when I tried to compare the two versions and click on compare button, nothing happens.
I would appreciate your recommendations.

N-Step Dynamic Workflow in SAP E-Sourcing _CLM2.0 with Adhoc apprver Featre

We are in process of implemeting SAP CLM 2.0 Application to one of our key client. one of the key Requirements is to implement n-step workflow approval based on the HR Based org structure. What the specific client requirement are as below ...
a)Dynamic N Level organizational hierarchy based approval for a contract document. Approval to be routed to a business requestoru2019s organization hierarchy depending on the value of contract
b)Approver substitution u2013 Provide functionality of substitution. If a person has to substitute a person for a period of time, workflow item to be routed to substituted user
c)Forward a workflow item u2013 If a particular workflow item is sitting in a personu2019s for a considerable time, an administrator to have the ability to push the workflow item to another alternate approver
d)Exception management u2013 Trigger email notifications to an approveru2019s manager if the workflow item is pending for a predefined period without action. If no action even after reminder for additional period of time, trigger another email to manageru2019s manager
e)Adding Adhoc Approval at any stage during the workflow approval stage ( For eg: - particularly in additional an additional approver in between)
Our Understanding u2013 None of these functionality is available as standard functionality within SAP CLM application. Correction needed if this understanding itself is incorrect (Low probability). Also, It would be great if anybody can suggest an alternative approach to handle this.
Alternate Options u2013 (our thought )
Any options that can be explored. For instance......
a)Explore development in CLM itself to achieve the functionality. If so what are the limitations that would still remain. For example CLM supports only fixed levels in the approval, cannot handle dynamic N levels with adhoc approver addition
b)Explore if SRM framework can be used to integrate the system for n-step workflow requirement
c)Can we utilize SAP UWL to integrate CLM system for this functionality
d)Any Other alternate options if similar requirements were handled in other projects

          There is no Org structure/hierarchy in CLM. I think you mean the structure/hierarchy will be in SRM/ECC.
          But there is no std interface available to get this into CLM. So you have to first develop an interface to get the hierarchy.
          Dynamic N Level workflows are very much possible in CLM

Downloading MA, Contract and Attachments data from CLM

Hi,
Can someone please let me know how to download MA, Contracts and attachment data from SAP CLM? Meaning, contracts created in CLM needs to be treated as legacy data and then uploaded into another system. I understand that the Search Master agreement report and Sub Agreement report can pull any field level data from the MA and SA. But how does one download data from Contracts UI and Attachments?

Hi Vikram,
If I can get you exactly you are talking about downloading data,
You can go for 'search all Master agreements' or 'Search all MA and Contract Documents'click on excel/pdf icon mentioned at top right corner and download it.
To Download specific Contract you go for 'Search master Agreements and Contract doucuments' click on specific CD and it will be auto downloaded.
The other way is exporting oma files, which is done in setup>system setting>export, go for options, data set/single object and export it.
Other way you can do via Workbook process which is a bit lengthy one.

Sourcing/CLM 7 /IE 8: E-Sourcing cannot display this page.

Good Afternoon,
We are experiencing the following issue when logging out of Sourcing/CLM:
1) Log out
2) Try to log back in and recieve the following page:
E-Sourcing cannot display this page.
Click the browser back button to the previous page.
I can get by this by closing the browser and opening up a new session.   I'm wondering if this is a common issue or possibly an IE or sourcing setting that's causing this.
FYI- This is consistant behavior for system, enterprise and buyside/sellside user accounts.

Mobile support for Sourcing/CLM 10

Dear Colleagues,
I have a question about mobile support for SAP Sourcing/CLM version 10. Is there any dedicated mobile application which will have workflow approving for example?
The only information which I found at SCN about mobile devices within SAP Sourcing/CLM 10 is:
"(...) This enhancement was made in preparation for potential mobile applications that will be integrated with SAP Sourcing / SAP CLM."

The short answer for the first question is no. However, there is more to say on the subject...
Support for mobile approvals are in the Sourcing/CLM product
backlog. We also have this feature candidate in our internal and customer
surveys on feature candidates for our next release (11.0). The surveys
were just completed. We will soon begin the process of identifying
features to include in our plans for Release 11.0. At this time, nothing
has been decided regarding what new features will be in Release 11.0.
