SAP Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2003, IIS 6, filesystem storage

Hello:
We have installed SAP Content Sever 6.40 on Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, and using the filesystem as storage, not SAPDB.
The installation goes without any issues and completes successfully, but the test URL http://<host>:<port>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo returns "The page cannot be displayed" and not the expected system info/status. We need to fix this before moving on to config in ERP, any suggestions into Content Server or IIS settings/configuration is appreciated.
We're using the standard install port 1090, and testing from a browser in the same host.
Regards,
Eduardo

Additional information:
Looking in the event viewer under application, I see the following 2 errors:
1) The HTTP Filter DLL D:\Program Files\SAP\Content Server\ContentServer.dll failed to load.  The data is the error.
Data: 0000: 0000007f
2) Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service.  Therefore startup aborted.

Eduardo

  • SAP Content Server and Maxdb on Windows x64

    Hello,
We currently run MaxDB  7.6 and Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2003 32 bit. We'd like to upgrade this to 64bit, preferably Windows 2008 R2. However, we would use 2003 x64 if necessary.
Does anyone know if this is possible and where we'd find the software and installation instructions? The information in the Service Marketplace / PAM seems a bit vague in this area (unless  we're looking in the wrong place).
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Philip.

  • Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2003 64bit

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find any kind of information on Content Server 6.40 on a 64 bit windows machine.
The latest doc I can find is about 6.30 on a windows 2000 machine.
The reason why i'm looking for this doc is because i have a lot of questions.
I installed CS 6.40 on the windows 2003 64bit machine with MaxDB 7.6.01.08. (Deliverd with 2004S SR2). During the install sapinst ask for the packages to install. When asking for Maxdb i give the path for "Maxdb_Windows_i86_64". After the install I see he installed the package "Maxdb_Windows_I386".
Why does he not install the 64bit version? Is it hard code to take the 32bit? so why giving the possibility to install the 64 bit for Maxdb?
after the install i downloaded the CD maxdb 7.6.03 (50092483_3) from sap and tried to install it with the new cd. Install is not working.
Even an upgrade of Maxdb from 32 bit to 32 bit and from 32 bit to 64 bit is not working.
I even tried to download the updates from mysql website which redirect to sdn.
I can't be the only one with this kind of problem.
hope there is some who can help me
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Pavan,
Make sure permissions are set as below note (even though is says 6.30 it applies to 6.40) regarding "NETWORK_SERVICE" user.
Note 658442 - SAP Content Server 6.30 on Windows 2003 servers
    Also, read
Note 851146 - ODBC driver cannot be loaded on Windows 2003

Can anyone tell me if SAP Content Server 6.40 on NW 2004s with MaxDB 7.6 will run on Windows 2003 64 or 32 bit? • SAP Content Server 6.40 on 64 bit Windows

    Hello,
As per PAM SAP Content Server 6.40 is supported on Windows but only on "WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA32 32BIT" version.
So does it imply that content server is not supported on 64 bit Windows platform??
I also want to know about Windows Server 2008. Although it is not mentioned in PAM, is it supported for content server? Additionally I've checked SAP Note "1054740 - SAP System Installation on Windows Server 2008.txt" again which did not give any fair idea about Windows 2008 platform support.
Please throw some light on 64 bit windows support as well as for Windows 2008 platform support for content server (which implicitly has MAXDB as database).

  • Moving SAP Content Server/MaxDB 7.6 to a Windows 2008 R2 Server

    Hi All.
We are in the process of upgrading our server where the SAP content server is located.  We are going from SAP CS 6.30/MaxDB 7.6 to a Windows 2008 R2 server where we want to install SAP CS 6.40/MaxDB 7.8.  I have been following the latest manual from SAP for upgrading to MaxDb 7.8  (2010-10-05) from MaxDb 7.6 using the in-place method.
To date we have installed MaxDB 7.6 on the server.  We restored our latest backup and performed the index checks as spelled out in the manual.  I have the database in ADMIN mode and went to run the MaxDb 7.8 install for the 64 bit window version.  THe install GUI comes up, but the Update selection is grayed out.  This tells me that the install program can not detect our existing database.  I did make sure I was running the install as Admim so I do not think that is the issue.
This is the second time I have tried this upgrade.  The first time I did a comand line upgrade by runing the .bat file DBUPDATE.bat. We have a 110 Gbyte database and this upgrade ran in about 15 minutes, and of course when I went to openthe database it was toast.  Do not want to make the same mistake again.
One other point, since we did a restore of the database, then the index check, we did not run a backup as the manual suggested as we felt it was not necessary.  Does the system require a backup before upgrade and that is why it does not see the database?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I beleive we have resolved the issue with upgrading the database, but now we are having a problem with Datbase Studio 7.8.  Before the upgrade we used Data Manager 7.6.  After the upgrade we installed Database Studio 7.8 and when we go to start it up, we are getting the Problems opening perspective 'com.sap.sdb.tools.ut.perspectives.mainPerspective'. I followed the instruction in another post Problems opening perspective in Database Studio, but we still are getting the error.
Can anybody offer any assistance as we are getting close to the weekend when we want to do the cutover and we are not even done with our first pass at upgrading the SAP content server.
    Thanks
    John

  • What is the latest prod. supported MaxDB Version w. SAP Content Server 6.40

What is the most actual supportet MaxDB Version when using with SAP Contentserver 6.40?
In PAM Page 5 (of the Powerpoint) the official Version should be 7.5.
In "install and Upgrade" NW 7.0 there is the "NW 7.0 Presentation - MaxDB Release 7.6.03"  available for Download and the "MaxDB RDBMS 7.7.06 Build 10 - Windows Server on x64 64bit "
Does that mean, that the 7.7 Version is official supported for Production?
Searched the Notest but found no answer for that.
    Ulrich
... half an hour later ...
just found MAXDB 7.7 Installation which suggest the 7.7 is the latest official supported.
    could that be the answer?

  • SAP Content Server configuration CSADMIN username password

    Hi all.
I am having problems when I try to configure SAP Content Server 6.40 after installation. When I try to run csadmin to set up the content repository, I constantly get this login prompt. I have tried using the default SAPR3 user and password, but I only get access denied. The SAPR3 user exists on my MaxDB 7.6. I have also tried setting AdminSecurity=0 in the ContentServer.ini file, and the login prompt is still displayed.
Does anyone have any idea on what username and password I should use, so that I can try to complete the Content Server config? Also, if you know of any decent guidelines for the content repository configuration, I'd be happy if you provide me with some documentation..
    Thanks!

  • Integrating SAP ECC 6.0 with Microsoft Windows 2003 Active Directory

    Hi Gurus,
We are planning to integrate our SAP ECC 6.0 with Microsoft Windows 2003 Active directory.
I have several questions on this:
    1. Can i authenticate all the users from SAP
    2. It is used only for user authentication or can it be also used for password authentication
ie user can login using his windows password?
    3. While integration in SAP does a separate table or a field is created in database.
4.If a employee leaves a company than in SAP is it possible to lock & deactivate the user automatically.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Nihar

    Hi Mastek,
You should be able to accomodate your needs with respect to integration of your AD accounts with SAP ECC ABAP. This can be done via LDAP connector configuration. The below has info on how to perfrom the configuration at a high level. You will have to integrate, and map certain user data. You may also want to do some LDAP Connector research:

On the Java stack - you can also confugure UME to integrate/authenticate with AD:

  • SAP Content Server Upgrade from 6.3 to 6.4 & MaxDB 7.3 to 7.8

    Dear Experts,
We are in planning of upgrade SAP Content server from 6.3 to 6.4 and MaxDB from 7.3 build 35 to 7.8.
For Content server upgrade is that we need to install the Content server 6.4 and install the latest MaxDB 7.8 and export and import the data.
We are on Win 2003 32 Bit and we are migrating to win 2008 R2 64 Bit.
Is it possible directly using database copy and restoring in MaxDB 7.8 version?
Or we need to use loadercli for migrating the data.
As per the SDN Link http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1649661
for content server upgrade is by replacing latest dll files at the respective dir.
Pls let me know your views and known issues.
    Thank You,
    Mahesh

In note [735598|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/735598] you can see:
If your source version is 7.3.00 or 7.4.03, read the upgrade guide "Upgrade to MaxDB Release 7.5" or "Upgrade to MaxDB Release 7.6" on SAP Service Marketplace:
