SAP CRM to ECC - SSO Configuration - Logon Language Setup

Hi All,
I am a BASIS consultant currently handling one CRM project. I need a help in configuring SSO between CRM and ECC. Now SSO is not configured, so When I click on the External Link created in CRM calling an ECC transaction, it requests for Client/UserID/Password/LogonLang for the ECC system. Here it takes Logon Language as same as what I have logged in CRM. Hope once SSO configured it will check only for the userID and log into ECC without requesting any further details. But the issue here is we are planning to have additional languages in CRM but not in ECC. So whenenver user logs in CRM with language other than EN - english (eg. FR), and when tried to login to ECC with the external link from CRM, by default ECC login needs to be logged in with language EN, as FR will not be available in ECC. I do not find any logon language configuration in SSO, how can we achieve this, logging into language FR in CRM, logging in EN when clicking External ECC link? Configuring Logon Data defaults (in SU01) in ECC, restricting to logon language EN, will not help I hope. Please advise.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Shahul

Hi Srikishan,
Thanks for the response. When user from CRM logged in another language than EN for eg. FR, clicks on external link in CRM, takes to EN, only if that language FR is not installed in ECC, else it will take to the same language in which CRM user logged in. This cannot be controlled in SSO configuration. Is this correct?
In case if FR is installed in both the systems, ie CRM and ECC, but user wants to log only to EN when clicked the external link(to ECC) from CRM, how we can configure this, Is any parameter can control or SSO setup configuration available? Please advice.

Shahul Hameed

  • Options for loading data from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC

    Hello All,
    I am new to SAP.
As part of data conversion planning from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC systems, I need to know the different tools available for loading the data and comparative analysis of the tools by showing the features. Please also describe the process to evaluate the tools (prototyping, technical discussions etc) and make the recommendations.
I would also appreciate any information on testing tools like (eCATT) and any third party tools (like Informatica)
I know I am asking for lot of things here. But, I really appreciate any information reagrding this.
    Thanks,

    Hi
Data Migration(Conversions) mainly involves the following Major Steps
    Discovery->Extract->Cleanse->Transform->Load
Discovery-> Involves identifying various source systems available where the actual data is residing.
Extract->Extract the data from the source systems(legacy systems)
Cleanse->Cleanse the data by enriching it,De-duplications etc
Transform->Transform the data into SAP Loadable format
Load->Upload the data into SAP Using the Load Programs(Eg,BDC,LSMW,Data Transfer Workbench,BAPIs etc)

  • SAP CRM and ECC doubt

  • Configuration is not replicated from CRM to ECC for configurable product

    Hi,
We have some materials in the system for which the configuration is not replicated from CRM to ECC.
We create a quotation in CRM and configure it. In CRM,  the configuration is complete and components are properly exploded but when we check the same quotation in ECC, configuration is incomplete with respect to some characteristics and product references.
    Please find below finding
    1. If the same material is created in another plant/company code, the configuration is replicated properly.
    2. We have also checked that the BOM is completely maintained for plants for which configuration is replicated. But we dont think so it could be an issue since if we create the quotation in ECC instead of creating in CRM, for the plant (for which the configuration is not replicated from CRM to ECC),  it is properly exploded and complete.
    3. variant prices are replicated properly even though components are not replicated.
We need to know if we can explode the BOM in the configuration even though complete BOM for the particular plant is not maintained. If its not possible to explode, why it is possible for us to explode the BOM in the configuration in quotation.
    Please  advise.
    Thx.

the configuration (variant configuration and not customization) that is done in CRM contract is not copied to ECC contract. Is it because that item category in CRM is activated for doing the BOM configuration and the same in ECC is not activated for doing the BOM configuration?
My question is that if item category in ECC is not activated for BOM configuration then is it like that the BOM configuration in CRM will not be copied to ECC?

  • Guideline Performance Initial Download from SAP for Utility into SAP CRM

    Hello,
Please find below a link (valid for 10 weeks) to the document Guideline Performance Initial Download from SAP for Utilities into SAP CRM. The document is also published in the SAP Service Market Place at http://service.sap.com/utilities. Then choose Technical Information Center - Migration.
The purpose of the document is to give guidelines as well as to share experience for an efficient and high performance execution of an initial download from an SAP for Utilities system to an SAP CRM system, such as:
    - Configuration of the initial download
    - Ensure optimum performance for the initial download of the relevant business objects
    - Avoid unnecessary business data being downloaded
    - Monitoring of the initial download and taking corrective actions in case of problems
    - Handle errors occurring during the initial download of business objects
    - Minimize performance bottlenecks
The document explains the setup and configuration of the SAP for Utilities and SAP CRM systems only if necessary for the understanding of the solution of a described performance problem. This document does not cover the performance optimization of the delta down- and upload and the synchronization download.
The document has the following structure:
Chapter 1 describes the basics of an initial download
Chapter 2 describes how to plan and execute tests to achieve an acceptable performance
Chapter 3 describes the most important technical activities to prepare the involved systems
Chapter 4 describes the most important functional activities to prepare the involved system
Chapter 5 describes how to perform an initial download
Chapter 6 describes measures to improve the performance of an initial download
Chapter 7 provides a list of important repository tables
Chapter 8 contains a list of important SAP Notes related to initial download
I'd highly appreciate your valuable feedback on this document.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Fritz,
sorry for the late late reply but I didn't notice your answer.
    Here are my answers:
    (1) I monitored the behaviour on the CRM system, CRM 7.0, SP5
    (2) The change should be implemented in the CRM system
    (3) Deactivate buffering for scenarios marketing, sale and service via SM30 and table T770MATTR.
By doing this the initial load of 3.2 million business agreements took around 2 hours, with activated scenario buffering I was at least ten times slower.
After the initial load you have to activate the buffering again.
Interesting to know would be why the scenario buffering only affects the initial load of business agreements and no other object. As far as I know the scenario buffering is relevant for the organizational management.

  • Variant Configuration in SAP CRM

    Hello all
My client is  currently using SAP R/3 4.7 and heavily use VC for configurable products and also for pricing but in the process of moving to ECC
Now we wish to explore the possibility of using SAP CRM 7.0 to enable our sales force to use CRM Web GUI to create quotes and sales orders ( in the future)  for configurable materials.
    My questions are as following:-
    1. Is it possible to download all VC related data into CRM from R/3 including pricing? I understand that for different VC object, I will have to use different CRM objects but is it possible? If the data transfer is possible, is it typically done by a middleware resource?
    2. I would also like to confirm that by creating a run time version and Kbase is required  to enable the download to CRM.
    3. No changes are possible on the product that can be replicated back to ECC
    4. Looking at the forums - I gather that "from CRM 2007 the PME is replaced with WEB UI in CRM. IF you want to do the modeling of a product then u need to use WEB UI and also for generating the KB" - does anyone have any information on this using the XCM ?
If you could please point me to the appropriate help on this topic, I would really appreciate it.
    Best regards
    Raj

    Hi Anne,
Hope you have done the following settings -
The product is marked as configurable in the product master data.
Product configuration is activated. You activate product configuration in Customizing under Customer Relationship Management Master Data Products Settings for Configurable Products Allow Configurable Products for a Product Type . For more information about activating product configuration, see SAP Note 854170.
You have created a product model (SAP CRM), or replicated a knowledge base with the configuration master data from SAP ERP to SAP CRM
These are mentioned in the below link  -
Product Configuration with the Configuration Engine in SAP CRM - SAP Library
    Hope this will be useful.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Is it possible to use variant configuration (with a Non-SAP solution) when creating ERP sales orders in SAP CRM WebUI

    Hello,
our customer plans to use a Non-SAP solution for variant configuration (Camos) in SAP ERP (ECC 6.0) and in SAP CRM 7.0 EHP1 as well.
ERP sales orders (and ERP quotations) should be created in SAP CRM (CRM WebUI).
Is it possible to use variant configuration (with an external variant configuration tool) when creating ERP sales orders and quotations in the SAP CRM WebUI or do we have to implement SAP IPC for this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    AEV

    Dear AEV,
I think LORD (lean orders) should work with variant configuration as well. In the note 1236015 there is not restriction listed. However you need lord2 activated in ECC, and ECC system should be on EHP4.
    Best regards

  • Difference between SAP CRM Security and SAP ECC 6.0 security

    Hi
I have extensively worked on SAP ECC security but haven't have chance to work on CRM Security.
Can anyone please let me know the difference between CRM security compared to  ECC security.
    Thanks...

I am sorry to say, but instead of giving the guy a decent answer you are starting a fight or discussion about stupid forum points...
    really sad.....
The big  difference between SAP ECC and SAP CRM Security (up to release 5.0) was the following:
    1) For sure there are very different transaction codes in SAP CRM as compared to SAP ECC in the first place
    2)  If you are familiar with R/3 or ECC authorizations; then you know that already on transaction code level, the 'allowed activity' is controlled on tcode level , whereas in SAP CRM , in most cases the 'allowed activity is not controlled by the Transaction code, but on authorization object level....
E.g. transaction code BP allows you to create/change/display  any type of Business Partner (e.g; sold-to/ship-to/contact person/employee/customer) which is based on the business partner ROLE concept.... anyway...you can control the allowed activity based on different authorization objects.....
another example is business transaction processing...which can be launched by:
a very generic transaction code: CRMD_ORDER
transaction category related transaction codes :e.g.
          > CRMD_BUS2000126 for activity management
          > CRMD_BUS200115 for Sales processes
Again...allowed activity is not controlled by the tcode, but on authorization object level...
    3) As of the new WEBCLIENT UI (which is valid as of release CRM2006s/CRM2007/CRM7.0) SAP also invented an extra authorization layer, which is UI COMPONENT LEVEL and logical links....  controlled by object UIU_COMP.
However, they also introduced the BUSINESS ROLE Concept (e.g; SALESPRO/MARKETINGPRO/...) which defines actually the functionalities, navigation bar, screen configuration, logical links you can use/see within the new WEBclient UI.
Another thing is that instead of using TRANSACTION CODES, as of these new releases, you are actually using 'external services'....so you do not authorize on tcodes basically....but the logic between tcodes and external services in relation to the authorization objects that are checked is more or less the same....
STANDARD authorization setup in the new WEBUI client is therefore controlled by both backend authorizations (not UIU component related) and the UIU_COMP (restricting access to workcenters/logical links/...)
    4) Additionally SAP also provides a concept called ACE (which stand for ACCES CONTROL ENGINE)....
This requires a bit of customizing...and the rest is more or less pure customer development, as you will create your own methods where you'll define a logic which dynamically will verify what kind of access you have for an object....
You should now that ACE is actually implemented on top of your 'normal' sap crm security setup....
    cheers

  • Configuration (IMG) Objects in Logon Language

    Dear SAP Experts,
I am currently working on an implementation where, in addition to English (EN) as logon language, we will also be having French (FR) and Portuguese (PT) languages.
Would like to seek your advice on how we can extract or get a list of configuration objects or activities which will require maintenance in the logon language. For example, for Costing variant, Operating concern or IO budget profile, we have to maintain the description of these objects in FR and PT in addition to EN - otherwise the description will be blank.
    Thank you for your advice.
    Kind regards,
    Teck

Hi, yes,you need to maintain in all languages, because how system will know translation?

  • SSO with Logon Ticket to non-SAP Unix based application

    Hi all,
Anyone has implemented SSO with Logon Ticket to a Unix box ?
We need to achieve Single Sign On between our EP5.0 SP5 Portal and a third-party web application with a front-end on a Unix AIX machine with Apache.
We achieved SSO with non-SAP applications with Logon Tickets, but one was to an IIS system in another domain (we therefore used the standard Web Filter for IIS and declared it in usermanagement for cross-domain support) and another one running on Windows platform (we used the C libraries provided in the "Logon Ticket Toolkit": NT or Linux only).
From what we understand and found on the web sites, we cannot reuse any standard web filter (none for Unix, am I correct ???) and want to implement custom code using SAP libraries, if possible using Java
-> Are there any Java libraries that are available to both:
. verify the logon ticket with the deployed Portal public key
. decrypt/extract the authenticated username from this ticket ??
I've seen a mention of Java libraries, and Unix, in a SAP EP 6.0 document but I'm not sure where to find them...
Is the SAP Logon Ticket issued the same way in EP 5.0 and EP 6.0 ?
I managed to find something called SAPSSOEXT, for AIX, which contains some partial library and a sample, but it is dated 2000 !! Anyone has more information about this ?
Any hint is very much appreciated.
    Thanks a lot
    Olivier

Check these links for reference regarding AIX and Apache using X.509 certificates:
    http://publib16.boulder.ibm.com/pseries/en_US/aixbman/security/cas_pki.htm
    And just using cookies -
    http://forums.devshed.com/archive/t-105611 (perl based)
You can also use mod_ssl built into your Apache to facilitate both certificate based authentication as well as encryption.
The mod_ssl route is most secure (because of the encryption), the IBM link is comprehensive but requires extra infrastructure (LDAP).

  • How to replicate a complaint from ECC IS-M 6.0 to SAP CRM 7.0

    Hi Media Experts,
I have a request from my client in whom I have to create a Complaint based on a R3 Media Object (Subscription Order), and then allow editing this complaint in SAP CRM.
I have already reached the first part. Over and done with a transaction launcher, I'm displaying and editing the Subscription Order from my CRM User Interface (but in R3), and I created complaints starting from the Order position as the requirement.
Now, I need to replicate these complaints to CRM in order to update and edit these documents for the case the client call again and the Media IC Agent wants to search for this complaint.
The question is: Could I replicate these complaints from R3 to CRM? In case of I yes, what would be the best CRM object to mapping my R3 complaint? And last but not least, the replication must be done through some middleware customizing?
    I appreciate any approach.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nicolas

    Hi Prashant,
    Thanks for the reply.
The reason why I won't create my complaint in SAP CRM is because I don't have the Subscription Order Object in CRM it is in ECC Media instead.
As I creating that complaint in reference to some positions of the Subscription Order, in case I create it straight in CRM I'm not allowed to do some validations regarding to dates, and existence, information that is only in ECC.
For instance, I have the requirement to make a complaint regarding to the delivery of the newspaper, for the case where the client did not receive it. To validate the days in which the client is subscribed, I have to contrast information with the Media Order, because that information isn't in CRM.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Devi,
There are three ways you can load Master Data in BPC
    1) Copy and paste.
Download master data in flat file .Copy the  master data and paste in members of dimension after that process the dimension.
    2) Using SISS Pakage - load Flat File into BPC-Cube
